    Worcester has radar, hydro AND defAA. On top of that, its HE deal way more alpha damage because bigger caliber. Maybe you havent come across a game, where your BBs are incapable of leaving the spawn and tanking, while the enemys are actually agressive, playing for the objectives and know how to position. In that situation, Smolensk is one of the WORST ships you want to be in. You dont have the alpha to make a quick impact, you dont have the concealment to sneak around and you dont have the tankiness to force anything. You are just effed and can watch the game go by. And I would pick the Mino, honestly (which I already do, im back playing Mino in randoms after the Smolensk hype).

    I agree. True aswell. Just recently I had 2 Smolensk attempting to farm my BB while I mowd down their teammates. They completly ignored the DD in my team as they did with my Minotaur who totaly annihilated the Smolensk at some point. So much for Smolensk murdering Minotaur @Redcap375, sorry to say.

    You cant hit a good Minotaur at 16 km with Smolensk tho. nope. But what the majority of players do with a ship decides, if its OP or not. In the hands of good players, any ship is OP. I kinda wanted to test it myself and alternated between Kongo and Cesare the last weeks. I got WAY better results in Kongo. Kongo OP? More OP as Cesare? At this point, im even gonna say, that Cesare isnt OP. Its a false impression from the community, because ship jesus said so (about a version in testing, that was MUCH stronger) and a lot of good players went to buy her to club. They could have used a Kongo instead, but didnt knew, since they havent touched that ships for years. Perfect marketing from WG! About Belfast/Stalingrad/Smolensk im just gonna say this: Belfast has more tools then Smolensk and faced enemys, that are way less dangerous to punish a mistake. Thats why its way easier for average players to do good in Belfast. And before @__Helmut_Kohl__ gets angry with me, all Im gonna say about Stalingrad is this: Im so so so SO ! happy, that I chose Bourgogne instead of Stalin.

    ... and if the Kremlin would be really good, he would not even need to get to 5,8 km :) either that or the DD is so s**** that he gets spotted by himself. In which case, any ship would kill him just as easy.

  8. I knew the name was familiar, now that I see you online here I knew from where :D So had @Sambor1966 in Ranked on my team yesterday. Nice teamplay, enemys played right into our cards, easy win & well played. Hope we are on the same side the next game again!

    @TrangleC its possible. And it would make sense. But nobody knows for certain, one way or the other. One thing is for certain tho: there is an auto-correction for shells. You notice that, when you shoot at an enemy, that will ground, while your shells are in the air. They will miss the target and hit the island eventhought I took into account the beaching and aimed before that island. So the game does somehow correct/calculate there. Another example, where you notice this: 2 ships are very close to each other, lets say they are 12 and 15 km away from you, in a direct line for your aim. You lock by mistake on the guy in the front but aim on the guy in the back - you will not hit, the shells will actually land between those two ships, no where near where you had your mouse set. The only explanation for this is again, that the game corrects your aim because its thinking "you want to shoot the other guy, since you locked on it". If that wouldnt be the case, the only thing, that the lock would impact is the dispersion, which is always better when locked up compared to shooting without lock, f.e. at invisible targets.

    Im all for that. And ofc it would make sense. Yea true. Sad part is: with the current reward system, the best a new player can do, is go for damage with any class...

    Meh at this point - I dont care anymore. Its a sign of skill if you understand how important spotting is. If this community isnt capable to understand then so be it. The thing is: you talk about rewards for spotting. And sure, its low. But on the other hand: Do we (as in experianced players) really need to be more rewarded? I dont need free XP nor credits any more so I dont care about those things. Neither do I care about my avg damage or my PR. So pushing the WR is enough rewards for me. But this is ofc down to personal opinion. WG forgot to push people in the right direction a long time ago. Its just sad to see those torpedo DDs sitting in their own smoke, firing their puny guns or even worse: sitting still doing nothing, because they and their team lost vision after smoking up... but there is a group of players, that dont even understand, why they lost vision in that situation. This is not going to change, no matter how much you reward players for spotting - sad but true...

    100% right. I understand that point and im even inclined to agree. Matter of fact, im having a discussion about reward ships / the number of ships we own in our Discord right now. Like when I look at my port, I actually dont need anything anymore. I dont need to grind, I dont need to farm credits, I dont need any specific ship anymore. I can play any class on any tier and have a decent ship in any case. But this is all part of the hamster wheel we are turning in and most likely one of the reasons, why new ships always need to get that little edge over the older ones - even if that is taken away or tuned down at some later point. I agree with that. Id love to have other ways to play the game, but nobody will join you f.e. in a 12x12 training room. I can only refer (as I did in the past) to other gaming communites, ive been part of and active in. Back in the days in FEAR, the community of good clans created a own webpage, chat room and closed server to play only among each other. People agreed, that its a) boring and b) bad for the game to go into random servers and smash all the new and bad players to pieces. Things repeat over and over. Back then we used to share screens, where half the server accuses you of cheating or tries to vote kick you. But is that fun? for whom? So from there on, we had a closed server, where only good clans had access to, playing usualy 4x4 against each other in mixed teams. that was, when the best time in FEAR started and many guys saw it that way. Clans actually became one big community with loads of respect for each other. The only reason, stopping us from doing this in wows, is, that we dont get free XP, XP, credits, achievements... etc in wows. but do we really need it? And how many of us are constantly raging about out stupid teammates, losing their temper? Might it not be more fun, to play with and against skilled players at all time? And before anyone says "clanwars" - in training room, mixed games, you dont have the pressure to win. its more casual. its actually playing for fun.

    Well, at some point you need to look over the fence buddy. Just because YOU dont have a problem with it, doesnt mean its not a problem in general. And quite frankly "uuh thats no problem for me cuz im so awesome that I can deal with anything"-attitude comes of kinda arrogant. And sorry to break it to you, but from playing against you quite a few times - you aint in the position to put on that jacket.

    Well, first of all: im very vocal and always have been, that the experiance for new players is bad. And I do feel sorry for them aswell. The problem is: this game is to the core build upon shi***** on players, that start with a disadvantage. Until you reach T10 and be mighty top tier all the time, players constantly get served the feeling "someone else has a better toy then you". This feeling isnt always right, as we experianced players know, but its certainly how many new players will see it. The interesting thing also is, how hard it is these days to start with the game. I see HUGE problems growing in the long-term because we cant grow new players. Try setting up a new account to get the feeling. You get nothing, you cant afford anything and you dont even have access to captains. Im not even talking about learning the basics of the game but new players are crippled so hard, that even if they are talented from the start, they have no chance once they meet clubbers with 19 point captains. And those are already around on T1. And just in case, anyone comes with "protected matchmaking for new players" - I regularly check the stats of players in those lower tier games. There are people with 150 - 300 games played around all the time. That counts as green in my book and they in no way have access to the same stuff that we have, simply because the game is limiting them. Sorry, but Im not going to use free XP (especially not after WG took my free XP farming operation from me) to go past a ship, when I know, I will be doing awesome in her and, well, its going to be fun. Sorry to say that, but im only beeing honest here. It can even be challenging, since your team might fall apart faster then the other side. And with the Naval Bureau thing, this is absolutly what we need to do. I argued against it and I will continue to do so. But for the sake of getting the stuff, that is locked behind this reset - I need to do it. Someone said, that the line reset should stop at T6 and I absolutly agree with that. That would solve a lot of problems right away. So the DD I posted on my screen is not a player? Or what was so hard to understand about that?

    So whats your point then? you dont care how the T4 s**** on the DDs, you think f***** up cruisers with BBs is their right but that after some point, the CV takes down your BB - ofc thats not ok. I mean sure, you can have a very boring "discussion", with everyone only replying to your own given example. then answers like "yes/no/idc" suffice. But where are you going with that? If you want to have a talk about T4 CVs, then you need to look at the big picture. And just incase you missed it: You could have easily used that, what I posted to strenghten your position. Just sayin. But the fact remains, that against a T4 CV, a BB has the best "fighting" chance. Even if that only means mitigating damage. I was in this situation recently twice with a BB (Orion, to be precice) and one of that times, it was a extremly good Hosho on the other side. The only reason, why I was able to kill him, was, that he focussed other BBs on my team first and that I knew, I had to eliminate him. I couldnt have done that in a cruiser, no way. Well, honestly? In that screen im grinding. thats what WG wants us to do

    In theory. But thats assuming, the cruiser captain knows what he is doing. Which atleast in this T4/T5 setup is rare. So in practice in this environment: 95% no Well, it sort of belongs to the discussion, since it really matters, that you were in a BB. Let me show you, what happens, when you are in a DD and play against a good T4 CV: How do you think was his 78 seconds gaming experiance, after the CV was done with him? btw: he lived another 6.22 seconds (which is my shell flight time - actually, to be precice, it was a little bit less, since a BB got there first. faster shells n stuff). Yea, seriously, @Bear_Necessities you damn BBaby! Why dont you try play CVs for a change, huh? Or how about a real challenge? Play some DDs and lets see how you do then! Oh and btw: The 3 or 4 guys, that play CVs and which whom I division with, regularly get cheered from their own team for doing their work/helping them/beeing awesome. I literally can not remember the CV in my division getting hassled the way you desribe - so from here it looks like a "l2p"-issue on your side.

  23. I strongly feel, that port slots shouldnt be forced together with the ship - If I need a slot, I can and will buy it extra. But since I have enough slots, I feel ripped off and dont want to spend the extra 300, easy as that. This should be concidered, since if anything, it will only lower the number of ships bought this way, nothing else. If WG thinks, they´ll get 300 dubloons more this way, its a flawd logic, since people do buy port slots anyway via dubloons. Imo thats important feedback to concider, and the poll shows, many people think like that. @MrConway @Crysantos .
  24. This game was indeed crazy. I was fighting 2,5 DDs + the enemy CV for the entire game.
