    You did not understand the point, that I was making. The point is here: Current system: 7 vs 7. 7 Players gain a Start. Only 6 Players lose a Star. 1 Player goes even. THAT is why the system works, because every game brings the entire playerbase forward in the ranking. Why? It gains more then is loses. If you want to remove the star saving without compensating, then 7 Players lose a star, 7 Players win a Star. Boom. nothing - ever - happens. We will have an even bigger whine fest in the forums. 99% of the players will NEVER EVER reach rank 1. also: Lets see if you find a pattern. Those are ALL my loses from this season, check my stats, Ive nothing to hide. fun fact: the Tirpitz, beeing the one and only exemption here, saved his star because he started to listen to after I was dead, made 3 kills and almost turned the game. Too bad I didnt have time to instruct him earlier, would have done, if I knew he is listening. I said halfways in the game to my mate "I shouldnt have told him how to play correct, he will save his star now". 100% true story, @Bear_Necessities can confirm in case you doubt it. Also: he deserved it in the end, cuz the last half of the game he played very good.

    On top of what all has been said: If you remove the star saving, you would need to compensate for that. Because: A) Star saving is what makes good players advance a lot faster. B) Thus better players leave ranked faster, making it easier for not so good players to advance at all C) Without star saving even players with a 50% WR would never go much further then Rank 10, because of the non-irrevocable levels. Seriously, think a little further when making such a suggestion. What actually would work, is sort of a point system somewhat similar to clanwars. You could gain 55 points for a win and lose 45 points (numbers are only here to show the idea behind the system). So if you win 10 & lose 10 you still advanced by 100 points. Each rank would need a different amount of points to advance, with rising threshold ofc. You could even add +/-1 point for the top performs or bottom performs, w/e.

    If you/we give them the feedback, that this is ok (aka buying it) they might make more decisions like this. To the rest of the discssion: After checking the stats of the people, argueing the ship is fine at T5, it all makes sense. Im biting my tongue here...

    Ranked out already, playing Lightning & Ognevoi. Couple of games even forcing a CV on me since I div´ed with a CV. For a change - I enjoyed most games. Else I would have quit the game way before. Didnt mind CVs at all.

    This. And it needs to be stressed more. A lot of people complain about DD gameplay and mention radar etc. The thing is: you have a team. And if they cant sink that radar ship, because they arent smart enough to shoot it or the radar cruiser is so smart to outplay everyone else - then your team doesnt deserve to win. If a DD could go and make every radar cruiser turn belly up without any help of the team, the class would be completly OP. Lost a game recently with Z-39 (heavy T9 btw) where I was last man standing against an Alaska, Kronshtadt and Donskoi. Now what have these three ships in common? exactly. I constantly asked my team to focus them, even right from the start. Yet they all three had almost full health. If only I were up against BBs, I might have made it (atleast I would have had a chance!) But this team didnt deserve the win, since obviously it had hardly any people focussing the right targets. Nothing wrong with my DD however, thats a problem of players intelligence.

    Just take Gneisenau, Bismarck, Massachussets or alike into COOP, I repeat COOP !!! rush somewhere towards the enemys, dont use mainguns and let your secondaries do the work. And I say it one more time DO NOT DO THIS IN RANDOMS.

    The problem is even more complex than that imo. Once mm throws 2 or even 3 DDs, that are not made for contesting caps, on one side, while the other gets 3 super stealty IJN DDs or cap bully like german DDs, then you are kinda forced to try something. Point 1on your list, which is sadly very true, doesnt help in those games. Its one of the reasons why I dont like to take out my Kiew. But its sort of bad design, WG watering down the borders between classes. Thats why I criticise the so called battle cruisers stomping in the territory of normal cruisers. Same goes for DDs, since WG recently seems to be incapable of designing a classic, interesting and balanced DD without gimmicks. Whats the last DD that would fit this description? Serious question and I need to think hard...

    I´d like to question the judgement on this topic too. When I see 4 of my 5 BBs dead after 4 mins (the 5th beeing in my divison, else we might have 5 of 5 dead), because they rushed into an already spotted Asashio - then who is stupid? Adding to that: the Asashio didnt even have Last Stand, which doesnt help the verdict about the BB players intelligence.

    On the other hand: what does it matter? For most of us, those guys are playing the game in a parallel universe. We will never meet them, unless they leave their T1 save zone, and the stats show, then they are totaly over their heads. Neither do they gain any real respect with those stats. Its not like any of the top clans (or even halfway decent ones to be precise) will be like "uuh look at this! highest WR on the server, we just gotta recruite that super unicum!" PS: there is an entire clan dedicated to T1 players. Is it naming & shaming if I link that clan? ^^ But its easy to find if you digg into T1 stats anyway.

    Couldnt agree more. I think 2 out of the 17 games I played so far you could call 2 teams actually fighting for the win. The others... decided almost from the get go.

    Maybe. But in all fairness - you see a lot of really bad play from DDs recently. You also see tons of bad play from BBs ofc. They seem to have a contest and its not clear who wins.

    Because if all the other DDs around you are s as f, you can have a huge impact. Because the somewhat decent DD player quit playing the class for reasions mentioned about. Only nabbs keep playing their "favourite" stuff over and over no matter how bad they are. Well, to them, it doesnt matter if there are 5 CVs and 20 radar ships, they kill themself anyway right away - fun fact: nice topic simultaniouisly right now going, where one of those specimns shows his true color "Muh like to suicide with muh DD is PHUN!"
