How is that? Because writing something on twitter, normal players get banned in a game? Because looking at players profiles - a feature build in the very game?

Because they destroy the game we love. As easy as that.

As @Verblonde says: Somers is far from beeing a must have. Depending on how you like to play your DDs, you might even be happier with Gearing overall (I kinda belong to that category). I mean I personally would say, Stalingrad ranks way higher than Somers, but if you dislike that shipclass... it might not be a good advice either. Plymouth is somewhat interesting but has distinct weaknesses aswell. I can just tell you that I have Somers, yet I dont pick her for any of those modes. You can always wait, next steel ship soon.

Take a look at the premium shop. A BB sells for what? And whats the price of a DD? Prolly needed more pixels for the BBs, they must be expensive, right? Its just about selling stuff, thats all. -

You are still assuming we are playing an actual video game here? This is all just a money making sceme, using FOMO, time-gated quests and other tools, to maximize their income... -
Dead Eye will be changed from scratch
ForlornSailor replied to Puffin_'s topic in General Discussion
The problem with that is: You expect the average wows-player to understand your concept! But thats where you lose them. They wouldnt change their current behvoir by an inch - and never realize dead eye isnt actually active for them The problem with dead eye is mostly not the skill itself. Well, to a degree. Because it actually increases the skill gap. Bad players might miss more, because their rng-guinded, spray citadel hit is gone now. But ofc people dont care or take that into concideration. While good players with really good aim actually do profit from the tighter dispersion. On the other hand, Dead eye promotes a gameplay, that is against all logic in a game, which should be about winning and objectives. But on that point, I feel im a minority. For most players, farming damage is everything... -
Yes. Henri is, imo, much more flexible. Especially with the speed you have some very interesting options. Like just run down a DD because you are faster then many of them. Then the reload booster on top - adds a lot of options. You are always looking for oppotunities to use it. You see a broadside cruiser at 12 km? AP + reload boost. You notice a BB has just used DCP? You reload boost some fires with HE on it. A DD is spotted? reload boost him to port. This is really the make and break of beeing effective with Henri, where as in Azuma you just backline spam HE. I might be a little bit biased, because I just love the playstyle of Henri. Because of this topic I took her our yesterday, and what I said before and right now all came into effect in this very one game. Ill show some stuff: the broadside + reload boost at cruiser is a good example here: My divis DD asked several times to deal with the Amalfi and finally I got a good chance. So I used reload boost right away- There was another reload boost used on a broadside Mogami who managed to turn out to avoid beeing killed but I netted another 10k extra. 3rd Reload boost went into rushing down enemy Gearing with speedboost: That was the only HE reload boost of the game aswell. Then when I talked about use AP not HE, here is an example why: And here you can see how I balance the use between HE and AP: So to me, Henri is really nothing like a long range HE-spammer. Its more on af opportunistic type of gameplay where you constantly look, how you can put your AP to use and maximize the effect of your reload boost. The better you are at this, the more fun you will have with Henri. I personally noticed over the years, how you get better and better at this and also, how the usage of AP increases. I played several hundred of games Henri in clanwars and it has a huge impact of my performance in randoms. Its a ship worth to invest some time in, she will pay back. Yea, I should prolly stop, its quite obvious I love Henri :D

2 games today, both couldnt have been more different. First, we get a 10 min rofl stomp, where the enemys just cant get any caps. For some reason, the enemy DDs just want to pick a fight my Grozovoi so desperatly, that they give up the control over the rest of the map completly. So the XP kinda tell the story.. But the game after was the complete opposite. It went over the full 20 minutes and our team managed to comeback pretty much at the last possible moment. Enemys had 3 of 3 caps and 860 points at one moment. I was using the chat to push the guys forward into the enemys and the objectives - this time, it worked. The deciding moment was, when their Gearing got greedy (I think). He could have sailed it home, because we had no way to get to him. He just had the Iowa next to me killed with torps and then decides to smoke up to try and kill me. I actually went into speedboost, stopped shooting at the also running away amagi, went dark and rushed the Gearing, which was almost full health, down in his smoke. We won by 100 points on time. Thats actually how this game is supposed to be. -

"if you are in secondary range, cooldown on all consumables is reduced by 20%". There you have non-op, brawling skill, that rewards pushing in and ACTUALLY gives a benefit. Hint: unlike freakin 5% reload on DDs or 10% continous AA, which is an insult to everone that is capable of math. -

Easier: crowd-fund a cash-out for the game from WG to take wows over. I mean this community spends 300 euro to get a silver tech tree ship 3 weeks earlier + a perma camo, that you could buy for 4000 dubloons at any time. Shouldnt be too hard to gather a couple of millions... -
Can we expect good play from Cruisers/DD players?
ForlornSailor replied to DFens_666's topic in General Discussion
Better is: "Plan?" But you should really play more coop - every once in a while you get people talking to the bots. Or, even better, raging at them for beeing "lucky". Its rare, but pretty funny. -
Suggestion playstyle for Russian heavy cruiser [help]
ForlornSailor replied to Dragontrn's topic in General Discussion
Nürnberg for example has the arcs to shoot over islands, also many of the maps around that tier have nice positions to make use of such islands. Also the HE dpm of Nürnberg (taking into account the ability to set fires) is awesome. So you often park there and farm targets with HE. Open water kiting with those cruisers... if you are a Königsberg, pray that there is no Cesare on the enemy team. Else never be spotted. Never. I never played Königsberg tbh - I know how many times I one-shot them, doesnt matter the angle or dodging - so I rather spare myself this experiance. -
Suggestion playstyle for Russian heavy cruiser [help]

I would also like to add, that in the current meta and also thx to the captain rework, its hard to play a Tallinn. It definatly requires way above average skill to perform strong and have an impact. Tallinn-hull, as mentioned by Garrus, lacks tankiness. She carries the concealment of a heavy cruiser tho. The radar, although on paper is strong, because of range and the possibility to stealth radar - isnt that much of a help. Especially when you play solo. In a division with a DD you can get away with going to an island, radar the enemy DD in the cap and have your DD take on the target from this smoke, for example. Yet the radar duration is usually to short to completly zero the enemy DD in one phase, so then you have a hard time getting away from that island again. Kiting and slinging HE with the occasional AP at broadsides - you need to be careful with BBs. Or even Cruisers with a bigger caliber. Which in case of the Tallinn means 180 mm (even when you are far away). Thus its easier to look for a position on the flank, and not central. When you play central, even if its a switch of flanks, like on two brothers, you are in danger of taking massing damage from either of the sides. If you need to do such a switch, you kite to your spawn and then turn V-shaped north again, once you are save from beeing crossshotted from the flank you are leaving (I hope this makes sense, I dont find better words right now). Its one of the reason why you lose the fight with the Eugen on the screenshot posted - you want to be on the farer outside compared to the enemy, so the Eugen has the superior positioning. Like if he wants to disengage from you, he could do very easy, for example. Just acc and turn out. You want to be in that position. But yea, unless you REALLY REALLY want to play Tallinn, maybe to grind through to T10, I wouldnt touch that ship right now. Im stuck myself there and dont care, also, because Im not looking forward to Riga either. btw: when you get a heavy T6 game, Tallinn can be strong. Then you need to identify the BBs (and possible cruisers) that can hurt you and angle against those. Many other stuff, especially lower tier cruisers, Tallinn can bully really bad - with AP. -

Something is seriously wrong with me not getting any kills at all. Well exept the Fiji mentioned above ^^ But then we have this: several kills just denied by RNG or taken from me. Well atleast I got the damage... Then another team of imbecils left me with the impossible task of 2vs5, 3 of them BBs who ofc know about positioning aswell so I was in the crossshots and the CV on me... But the day tops off with a fine example on how to play a T7 DD against superior opposition. I mean Im still gonna say, its wrong, but I outplayed the enemy Fletcher and Akatzuki, eventhough they outspot me by 1 km. So I get spotted and I know its the Fletcher, because the 2 other red DDs have been spotted on the other side. So I dont panic, but turn out, so that the fletcher follows me to keep me spotted. which he does. what he doesnt know, is, that im pulling him towards the island, where a cruiser is sitting. And he follows right in the trap, gets within 5,8 km when coming into LoS of the unspotted Boise of @DFens_666 and then opens up on me. I happily take the gunfight together with the Boise and Fletcher leaves the innitial engagement with less than 5k health, while I still have 12k left. Then a Fiji made his way up to help the Fletcher against me, Donskoi radars me after LoS with Fletcher broke but I keep the before mentioned island inbetween me and Fiji/Donskoi. Fiji is eager, moves up, again gets broadside to the Boise and suffers.. Fletcher moving towards the center of the map, where the CV also briefly spots the Akatzuki, which has also lost some health already. So I get close to the island move towards the Akatzuki and in a straight line with Fletcher, who is moving on the other side of the island. I come around in the open: 3,8 km to my right is Aka, 4,5 km to my left Fletcher. They are both obviously surprised by the engagement - im not. 2 more kills. Enemys did not recover from losing all their spotting abilites. Low damage, high impact. Quite happy with the result because of the way we outplayed the enemys. I yoloed in the end towards the CV to maybe get some torps of but Donskoi protected him so bleh, no more damage for me. -
What Ranked League do you play this season?
ForlornSailor replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
Good point. Worst that could happen, is, that all the tryharding noobs, that dont actually make it to gold, stay in silver and overpopulate the games with their throwing & saltiness... Im playing the ships with special commander to slowly make my way to 21 points. Asashio with Yamamoto or Benham with John Doe. -

I still have not decided... thus hanging on R3 atm. Doing like 1 game a day and see where it gets me. -
Nah, that requires work, dedication and thinking. We all know, the playerbase does not like those things. Crying is much easier!
-
Thats the perfect ending. Its like listening to a rapist in court, how he pledges to be a victim of society and closing his statement with "MY VICTIMS SHALL NOT BE HEARD - SILENCE THEM !!!!!" Should we mention the fact, that you do WAY better in CVs then in ANY OTHER class, yet you demand millions of buffs for this very class? A sensible conclusion would be to nerf CVs, looking at your performance: Care to explain, how you think, that CVs need buffs when its the only class you perform on server avergae with? Looking deeper in your stats, you should ask for Cruiser buffs. SERIOUS cruiser buffs.
-
There >should< be an auto-check implemented by now, that every once in a while resolves the problem, when ships are stuck in battle / in a division. Did it resolve itself? Back in the day, I once had to wait for the next patch, I couldnt play at all anymore...
-
Well that kinda goes for all cruisers. I have other cruisers in mind, that are now more prone to get deleted thx to dead eye - like Hindenburg, Goliath or Minotaur. With Henri atleast you can keep your distance and be effective. Imo, Henri is one of those ships, that thrives in a division (or from teamplay in general, which is successfully removed from the brains of most players). Have your DD spot the enemy DD and have your reload booster ready or focus the same BB target with HE spam, when you have a second or even third HE slinger with you. Else.. you are locked down in your role as a long-range HE farmer and your impact isnt that great, thats true.
-
When you ditch concealment completly and go for maximum dpm. Henri Concealment then is... 21,x km? Someone correct me if im wrong. Its hillariously high anyway. on topic: Henri is still awesome. Laser guns, massive pen, you can citadel cruisers on maximum range easily. dpm is crazy and you can dodge a lot of incoming fire. Nothing really has changed for Henri with the captain rework.

Couple of days in a row, Asashio worked like a charme. Then: nothing. 2 wins 5 losses. Switch to Benham: In the end I heat the Öland gunboating while I had 1,2 k health and he had 5k - we killed each other. I bet, he thought, that this encounted ends differently :D -
Can we expect good play from Cruisers/DD players?
ForlornSailor replied to DFens_666's topic in General Discussion
I got it ^^ And yes, you are completly right, both Benson and Edinburgh should be gone and the minimap does look favourable for us. But well, then there is the wows-playerbase. I dont mind a deeper analysis, its what I like to do myself to reflect some things afterwards. Here is what I came to think of, if I were another DD (lets say Benham maybe). I might have been able to torp the Edin. Im a little bit in doubts, since the guy is unicum-level, but lets say, I would have made it and thus gotten to cap A. We would have lost B non-theless, because even while beeing Asashio, before I got there, my Musashi exploded, Balti ran away and Benson was in the B-cap getting the cap. So we would have been down a cap and lost a BB vs their cruiser. Our CV was ofc useless while it was the enemy CV who ultimatly killed me. He would have prolly attacked me in A aswell then. Now from there, its a lot of theory, thinking where the game might have gone. Maybe I could have torped Alaska/Musashi on the 1/2 line. But most likely I would have been forced out again under the pressure of Alaska Hydro/Radar + CV and my guys in the north never made a move anyway to be aggressive, so they wouldnt have stopped the 1/2 line push... imo the game was doomed, no matter what DD I would have picked. indeed. It can drive you crazy. wow - I missed that one. Thats insane...
