Regarding the Enterprise
ForlornSailor replied to ________________Morrison's topic in General Discussion
Nono, its not. Its part of the plan. Enterprise will be in the Xmas boxes, just like all the other "accidents" that were a "little bit too strong". so, @Sirius_IV, no worries you´ll still be able to get her. just gonna cost ya. -
Ranked Season 14: Battle of the Smolensks

Im almost tempted to use an argument, you always see in the CV rework dump thread: The best CV players are gonna rank up very fast so they wont torture you. everything is fine. -
Ranked Season 14: Battle of the Smolensks
ForlornSailor replied to hamed_pour's topic in General Discussion
Oooor he means that ship, which you regulary praise in our Discord, posting new damage records on a daily basis. Yea, I think he means THAT Smolensk -
Meh this is off-topic but I gotta take the chance to say it: First of all: Its nice that you found the way to the offical forums that early. I wish many others would. Welcome. Then: You are still very new to the game. This game has a really looong learning curve, also, because things constantly change. Ofc it depends on the individual, how fst he can pick things up, put when I say that most people are starting to get a decent idea of the game around the 2000 battle mark, thats not exaggurated. About what you wrote: Refering to historical standards is almost always missleading. The game differs from that, for various reasons, most important the need to find a balance and create an even playing field for all classes. So, keeping the distance in this game is wrong, because you will lose map control, objectives and cant support your teammates enough. Especially beeing aggressive in the first minutes of the games is important with a BB. Every part of the map, I claim there, the enemy has to take with force if they want it. Or they are scared when they see a BB there and dont go for it at all. Easy win just by presence. Also, a BB in this game isnt 100% effective if staying at range. Your penetration shrinks, which means you cant get citas on many targets and experianced players will just dodge the incoming fire. Nothing easier for me in a fast, manouverable cruiser then to dodge BB shots from 16+km 2 times per minute. The correct distance varies from tier to tier and from ship to ship. And also with depends on map and the state of the current round. Your own concealment is a decent indicator for the start. That means, some BBs can be ~12km away from their targets, others (like IJN) a little bit further. Later in the game, when a lot of ships have sunk, you often need to be way more aggressive. If your ship (and your designated target) allows it, you even go brawling, which means putting your BB at <2 km to the enemys. Its about the most fun you can have while playing a BB btw.

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
ForlornSailor replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
Yea, you just have to be "that guy" that points to the obvious. Always. Lets hear your opinion on a clear question (and what was actually the point of the post, which we are arguing about) Do you think (T3)T4 bracket is fine right now? -
You are contradiciting yourself here. You dont know any base XP modifier so you cant claim "this or that class gets more XP" Also, there is no "DD" or "BB" base XP value, since from the history of changes its clear, each ship has an individual base XP modifier. Thats completely irrelevant. Because he tried to compare the influence / impact on the game / performance by this made up value. And we just concluded, as you agreeded, that we dont know the base XP modifiers of any ship, thus comparing performance by base XP is completly futile. You would know if you play a lot of divisions and regularly talk with your divisions mates about the results.
-
Nope. Its exactly how I say it his. His claim, that there is a "true value" by just adding 10% and compaing it to the other ships - of which he does not know the base XP modifier - is fantasy science. So my explanation can not be wrong, sorry bro.
-
No, sadly not. The individual modifiers for each ship are a state secret hidden. WG got asked couple of times on streams etc to publish them but they are not going to do it.
-
wowo lol. Totaly wrong What you actually dont seem to know, is, that every ship has a hidden base XP modifier that differs. You think, all ships are the same expect the CVs got a -10% penalty. absolutly wrong. The base Xp modifier just got lowered, nothing more, nothing less. It still might be higher and prolly is then the one of some other ships. Dont even argue against this one, you are wrong here, accept it.
-
Same here *jumps in rudely* Im using Henri, works nice against the Smolensk. Not that, imo, Smolensk is that huge of a threat that you´d need to plan your season around it, but Smol is pretty popular so might aswell take a ship that can deal with her good. And deal with anything else aswell ^^ Question: Is it just me or are DDs rare?
-
I agree. Its obvious @Yoshanai, that he wasnt talking about himself, he was talking about the overall situation of the game. But yea, I often have to deal with such personal attacks myself when Im talking about the state of the game and indeed its getting old...
-
rofl. Thats not a community-based idea. That was WG realising, they didnt understand how their glorious system could be abused so they panic fixed it. True. Maybe a sign of desperation? Maybe they start to see, their CV rework missed the mark? Honestly, if it changes their behavoir in the future, the rework will have had atleast one positive aspect.
-
Dude, are you new to the forums? Have you missed the gazilions of topics filled with (bad, workable, interesting and some good) ideas on how to change/improve CVs? If you name ONE community-driven idea about CVs, that has made it into the game - ah wth am I saying - into testing ! then Id like to hear it. There was absolutly nobody, that came up with game mechanics like we have now with the CV rework. Nobody asked for a dead hull, totaly disconnected from the player. Nobody had the idea "lets make CVs burn for 5 sec max with a fully auto DCP". That is all coming from WGs own devs. Do you know how much time me and many other litteraly have wasted, thinking about ideas and writing them down, discussing here? And btw: this entire thread is another huuuge dump where we all waste our time and nothing, absolutly nothing we say here is of any relevance to the game. I hope you know that. IF WG would be interested in community feedback, they would have invited some of the active ppl and skilled ppl, that were interested in truly improving the state of the game for everybody (!) and play around with ideas on the test server or a similar environment. Yet it never happened.

Bismarck is a good example. But you find such ships in every class I guess. Maass & Mahan for the DDs come to mind.
-
Coming from the guy, who hold long debates like "oh you guys dont even bring arguments, I cant take you serious if you dont bring arguments, you just demand to accept your position" etc thats really something :D
-
I absolutly agree with you on this one. I often take a stand for the non-unicum players and try to point out, what problems they are facing. However, I cant see this happening for a guy, who choses to play T10 and then performs almost at the lowest possible level and is obviously not willing to take any advice. To those guys, I have nothing left to say but either: - get help on the forums & l2p - go back to lower tiers and learn this way - or simply deal with staying a n...

Are you fantaszing? dreaming? making stuff up? I used CTRL+F and typed in "weak". Literally NOBODY claimed, Smolensk AA is weak and for sure I didnt. so what on earth do you want from me?
-
Well then maaaaybe you are suppose to lose some of your precious planes sometimes?
-
And that would only matter if games are always 11 Smolensk vs 1 CV. Which, clearly, is very far from the reality. So we have ships with stronger AA. The game in the current state actually needs more of those ships.
-
Everyone gets what he deserves. btw: its not. A) The stats clearly show, the problem is with you, not with the Smolensk. B) You can hide you stats. If you dont, you give consent that everyone is looking at them. easy as that. Cant take it? Hide em.
-
How about you use this forum as a source to learn & get better instead of whinging and trying to tell us, your sub-par performance it the ultima ratio? You think THATS an acceptable performance for a T10 CV? How come others do WAY better then you if your story would hold true?

I´d say ALL cruisers really need a heal. It hardly makes a difference anyway if a Karlsruhe is able to gain back 4k or not. But still, it eases up the struggle of fighting higher tier ships, other cruisers with heal (that have other significant advantages anyway) and beeing spotted all the time from CVs. Low tier oper water cruisers are just painfull right now as it stands. WG needs to do something about DoY/KGV atleast. They take citas through the bow from everything that has 380mm+. Unbearable, they are turned into huge cruisers, that are sitting in cover spamming HE...
