Detectability range timer after shoot. (20 sec)
DFens_666 replied to Alex_steel_45's topic in General Discussion
I just question the usefulness of something like that. It benefits certain DDs, which are imo not weak to begin with, because they can be spotted anyway, and are played as such. What benefit do you have f.e. when playing IJN DDs? Will you suddenly start to gunboat enemy DDs because you get undetected faster after shooting? Doesnt make sense, because you still spot yourself in the first place. As for Cruisers, ive sometimes asked weak Cruisers to stop shooting so they wont die. Answer was "im spotted anyway" Ofc they are, because they are constantly shooting! So they dont even understand it in the first place. 15 sec wont change that, except for a handful with very slow reload, and even they might get undetected between shots anyway, because their reload is 20 sec (or even more). All it does is increase the skillgap yet again, something we dont need. Bad players wont benefit at all, good players will. Yep, just give everyone the appropriate value right away. Thats atleast something which reduces the skillgap, as bad/new players can benefit from it if they dont have 10pt captains (or dont skill CE, or dont use the module...). -

Almost 1300 secondary shells fired with secondary PEF in Newport almost 40k (44k with fires) secondary damage is not too shabby either. The torprisk from the bots is quite high, so getting too close is not really an option, so i stayed a bit further away. -
Detectability range timer after shoot. (20 sec)

Even tho balancing between classes could be tweaked, i disagree that firing penalty should be lowered to 10 secs. It would be way too easy to harass a ship on the flank for gunboat DDs, and then just stop shooting when the Cruiser/BB is turning its guns. Most Cruisers cant turn their turrets within 10 sec (some cant even reload in that time), so a DD could just stop shooting and wait till the Cruiser turns its guns again. Ive never played WoT, but i guess these games are inheritly different when it comes to shooting enemies. -
Indeed, forgot a "not" in there

If we ever get something like that, it will be 4 Smolensk' stripped to a Kremlin hull -
That shouldnt be, alltho WG being WG so information is as unclear as it can be. To me it sounds, duration is doubled, so 6 sprints for 12 weeks meaning 1 sprint lasts 2 weeks, and you now have to get 1,5times the amount of stars but get double the rewards. Ofc the question is, what does "on average" mean? Do i need 1,5 times the stars in every league? Or do we maybe need twice the amont of stars in bronze, 1,5 in silver and like 1,25 in gold? That would also be on average 1,5 times more than before...

https://blog.worldofwarships.com/blog/118 Now they increased the amount of stars we need by ~1,5 Makes gold even worse tbh, even if we get double rewards.

Yep, Alaska, Stalin, Ägir and Graf Spee use the same formula.
-
Kronshtadt uses USN BB dispersion formula (same as okto). Azuma/Yoshino also use a different formula, which is better than the other BCs.
-
You remember first Stalingrad? 32mm bow/stern instead of 25mm, and waterline citadel
-
Azuma/Yoshino 310mm caliber guns Henri 240mm Moskva 220mm Venezia 203mm Yoshino basicly has the same armor as Henri and Venezia - plating wise. 25mm bow/stern and 30mm midsection. Only Moskva has better armor with 50mm midsection, but instead, Moskva has so much worse concealment Azuma/Yoshino have 11,88km, Moskva has 14,1km...

After i wrote the post, i had to think of this: 12x457mm Thunderer 2.0 -
Does the Cruiser skilltree lack vital skills for many Cruisers? Yes it does, and not only for BCs. But they surely dont need deadeye, and most certainly they dont deserve 32mm plating, especially on T9. They would become virtually immune against BBs when toptier, since the only T9 BB which can overmatch 32mm armor is Musashi. VeNEZIA does not need tanking skills like BCs. BCs were often just overpowered compared to their smaller cousins anyway, so a small nerf was definetely in order for some of them. Surely removing access to all tankskills is bad, and hopefully they change something about it. Easy solution just give them 45 sec fire duration like Graf Spee, that would already solve the issue of not having access to BoS anymore. Or just rework the Cruiser skilltree from scratch again, half of it is garbage anyway, and its missing several useful skills.

@Verblonde Agincourt i wonder, if some RN event (techtree split /line) is coming sometime this year? T5 premium ships usually indicate the main reward for directive, atleast lately that has been the case quite often (Hill, Siroco, Mikoyan, Oklahoma... what else?) So a T5 RN BB could indicate some form of RN BB split maybe? - Ita BBs - German DD split - something RN related? -
Hightiers: more likely FP Midtiers: CE. Midtier BBs dont have access to the concealment module, while also having less range. So i prefer CE first on those. Basicly the higher you go, the better it is to take FP first. TX being very camp with a lot of longrange HE spammers (Thunderers, CAs), so you get more value out of it. T8 is imo 50-50 what id take first. Thanks to the concealment module, many T8 BBs can get a good concealment when they have both the module and the captain skill, so you can easily stay undetected if you need to, which means you wont get shot at in the first place.

But it really didnt change much? Thats what i dont get, its like people suddenly complain about it, because slower turrets gain less from it that faster turrets. Yes, that is true, but its not like they lost much (if anything). Or you wanna claim, that losing 1,5~ seconds on a 180° turn with your Yamato guns suddenly makes that skill garbage? You cant even feel the difference... btw quote from LWM so indeed, its not garbage, yet is marked as such. What i also dont understand is this: " It's time for more deep diving into the new skill system " yet followed up with making a complete arbitrary evaluation of said skills. Not to mention, on BBs its not actually only about out-turning your turrets. Since BBs actually have the ability to fire across the map for crosshots, faster turret traverse can always provide a benefit. Not to mention, other 2pt skills might even be more questionable (except PT). Yet, you can compensate PT with skill, but no skill in the world lets me turn my turrets faster -
But onf of the red torps vanishes afterhe gets the damage. Where previously were 2 torps, there is only one left

The difference aint that great, even for slow turrets. F.e. Yamato has 3°/sec turret traverse, that means 180° takes 60 seconds. Old EM it gained 0,7°, which improved the 180° turn to 48,65 sec. With the new EM, its only 0,6° and it takes 50 sec, so a difference of less than 1,5 sec... But basicly all BBs with a turret traverse faster than 3,5°/sec gained a buff out of it. Saying that its garbage on LWMs part seems highly questionable in my book... -
Is deadeye really this strong, or is it the perception of its strength that changed the meta following the rework?

I always skill CE anyway. So at best we are talking about 4 wasted points. Which in my case is the extra heal. And i dont need that every game either. So we are talking about 2 situational skills. I dont think, any other available skills would have more effect. Basicly, the skills which work all the time i skill first, and then follow with situational skills. -

BBs mostly angled (not completely bow in, lets say 10-30°) at 7-8,5km. Imo not accurate. But also not bad either. If it werent for 3 BBs (one div) rushing me, i would have closed the distance further. But against 3, i started kiting them. -
Me too, i think they cant understand that you need to use all your guns to be effective. Not like Balti and DM which can just sit bow in.

Doesnt look like it to me. wowsft gives 350m for both Bayern and PEF secodaries at 5,6km. And after i tested secondary PEF myself, they definetely are not accurate. Maybe if you get within 4km of your target you can hit them more reliably. -
7 times 8 torps Nah, cant buy FDR, its only available for Steel. They are the tankiest planes in the game, they have an INSANE amount of HP.
