Please remove the division pick up restriction for all ops
DFens_666 replied to HansRoaming's topic in General Discussion
Narai can be done with 4 or 5 players. Theoratically even with 3, as once our 4th guy managed to die very early, and then we still did a 5-star win with 3 guys, but you are locked into picking strong ships like Fiji, Gneisenau, Scharnhorst... Dunno about the T6 OPs, i dont think i ever did them with smaller teams. I think Killer Whale should be possible with smaller teams aswell, just pick fast firing Cruisers. Newport is probably the hardest, as the sheer mass of enemies needs to be killed before they enter the harbour. Aegis... could work with the right tactics. Usually the issue is getting hardfarmed with HE, so smoking up Cruisers or Perth with crawling smoke might be good picks. -
Yep, that one i know of, but they came in from open water, and they managed to overshoot my BB I fell in that islands trap myself
-
No, its not "the most influencial class is automatically OP" its "if the influence exceeds certain limits, especially when there is very little or no counterplay available, THEN its OP" This is exactly the point: All other classes are held back by limitations, f.e. not being able to influence the match on the other side of the map, within a reasonable timeframe. Sure you can try to do that in a DD, but you might lose 3 minutes of time getting over there. Something, which CVs dont have to do. First, they can strike wherever they want. So they can strike on flank A, but 30 secs later, they see enemies are advancing on flank B. Just fly over there within 30-40 secs and do whatever is necessary. that is PRECISELY the point, why CVs are OP and have too much game influence. That the average player is, once again, incapable of excercising this doesnt really matter, because it is possible, as Unicum CV players can show every day.
-
The difference is, the average player in any other class gets not hold back by an AI controlled mechanic - flak. And even if they pass that check (which they might not), they still have to execute a proper drop - which is also something that those people fail quite often. I mean, ive been in a BB and CV players missed me with rockets Not to mention something like torps, which seem to quite hard to handle for the average CV player. Compared to shooting guns, which means: take lead, press left mouse-button or even torps. In those classes, people fail because they die early, cant aim, dont understand overmatch (more like autobounce) or getting outplayed. But atleast in some of those scenarios, its a human player which prevents them from dealing damage. With CVs, they trip over their own incompetence.

But solo players cant pick any operation outside of the one which is the OP of the week. And i dont think there are enough people playing Operations, that we could fill games within reasonable waiting times. Lets face it, most people would probably end up playing Narai only, leaving the T6 OPs to die. Except for maybe CVs, which seem to clog up the queues right now anyway (yesterday >10 CVs, and the other classes barely enough to start a game within 30 sec). -
Thats only because the average CV player is incable of dealing proper damage. But they will harass one ship over and over, regardless of what skill level the opponent has and ruin his game by permaspotting him. However, this changes once a CV has the skill to basicly delete any target from the map. At that point you dont need to spot ships for your team, you can just kill them yourself. Having your team deal damage on your spotting is neglectable. A change to spotting would atleast mean, surface ships can still enjoy their game even if being harassed for 20 minutes by one CV player, because the enemies cant attack him on the CV spotting. Wouldnt fix people like @El2aZeR killing entire teams, but for the individual players, getting demolished by a SU CV player basicly never happens anyway, so that would be "fine"
-
What to expect from a class, which most of the playerbase actually has no or only very little interest in playing? (Even Subs will probably attract more players). So in order to get atleast a certain amount of players, that class needs to be easy to play/retardproof/OP (pick whatever). If CVs would be balanced, only CV fans would play them, which ofc is worth nothing to WG. CVs should reflect the game influence based on their playstyle, which means basicly nothing. If you want ships, which are much safer than any other class, because they never risk their ship itself, they should have close to 0 influence on the outcome of the battle. That way, all the potatoes can enjoy their retard class, and surface ship players can still enjoy the game. Sucks for Unicum CV players, but they are a minority anyway, and WG doesnt rely on them in the first place, so no big loss
-
By that logic, there certainly cant ever be anything OP, because if a ship is better than any other ship, apparently doesnt make it OP... [edited]facepalm indeed Why not add nukes? well the nuke can hit those ships which needs to die, doesnt mean its OP
-
Well, but i did? Yes, i couldnt push because i was facing a Musashi, amongst other things. 460mm guns will just shred a Monarch to pieces, so i started to kite away. In the end, we were 3 vs 6 (or maybe 4 vs 6 im not 100% sure anymore). Prior to that, Musashi and Amalfi died in B cap, but i dont remember if we also lost a ship in between or not. I was kiting away from A/B to B/C into C, while enemies pushed straight into B. I shot them, while my DDs torped them. Then they got pushed by the enemies south of B/C, as you see my DDs were basicly stuck beteen Neptune/Haru/Massa. Luckily i got the Neptune, and my DDs could run away into B. Also the enemy DDs were very stupid by smoking up and not spotting our Kiev, because they would easily outspot him. So then shima killed Aki, and we killed Haru together after that. Before that, the Massa was pushing into me, so i started kiting again. Since he couldnt keep it up, he ran away, which definetely lost him the game (dunno why he did that really, was a hurricane clan player). Maybe he was hoping he win by points/time, but eventually he still died before the end.

Dont worry, i can provide a random battle too That was one hell of a battle really... halfway through, i thought its a loss, but somehow we managed to turn it around.
-
But we never had to pay the full price when you already had parts of the commander retrained, example: - Commander needs 100k to retrain. - With 200k credits, you could retrain him to 50%, so 50k commander XP - For the rest 50k, you could use 50k commander XP to finish it. Apparently now, even if you have him retrained 99%, you still need to pay the full price - how does that make any sense?! @MrConway is that intended or an oversight?

I fail to see how matching potato CVs against each other will teach them anything? The opposite might be the case, since is likely that they will win more often now. -
Liked it more than Bismarck and Richelieu Also the AP brutalizes Cruisers

Should WG ban all sub 50% wr players from randoms?
DFens_666 replied to Pow_tae_toe's topic in General Discussion
Easy, just look at FUNderer players There are literally HUNDREDS of them with >100k damage and even red WR Hate that ship -
1) might aswell remove divisions then, because certain people/divisions would sit in queue indefinetely, especially during off-hours. 2) So if everyone has 47% WR, what will eventually happen? They get 50% WR! Same for people with >54% WR, because its impossible to maintain that WR, if 12 people win and 12 people lose. Also the groups would look like this: <47% WR: Half of the playerbase 48-53% WR: Like 40+% of the playerbase, too lazy to check, might be like 45% or so >54% WR: what is left, so basicly 5% of the playerbase. They couldnt play at all anymore. 3) in general yes, MM could look into radar distribution. The problem are ships, which often dont have radar, and get a benefit if the enemy doesnt know that they are running radar (RN CLs, PA DDs). Which would be kinda unfair if MM would reveal them as radar-carrying ships. 4) true, some maps feel unbalanced at times. I guess WG has the data, and might not feel like they need to change anything. Or its not unbalanced in the first place - who knows 6) thats part of their business-model so... unlikely that its gonna change. Also, then every tier would look like TX now: Everything is Thunderer and Halland. Which is not fun. ofc if they would balance them better... But people might just pick the next best thing after that.
-
And how would that work out if you are only 1 out of 12 guys in your team?
-
I fail to see how thats fun to play tho... also a 40% can just ruin your game because he is playing that SPESHUUL class. Harassing one ship over and over should be prevented, maybe by increasing AA power over time if a CV keeps his plane inside of the ships AA. Over time, the bonus could decrease again if there are no planes inside AA for a couple of minutes. Basicly AA gunners are becoming more accurate so to say.

It only balances to a maximum difference of 1 divs between teams, so 2vs1 div works. 3vs1 div doesnt work. -

Grind done. Could have been worse, luckily we got Brawls, so the 12 million credits were actually rather easy. Did play like a dozen Stalingrad games in coop for the tanked damage -
200% winbonus is a trap. All the noobs come out and want to get the bonus, so you are left with even more suiciding morons. Only waste flags and camos, because chances of getting a decent win seem to be quite low during those events. Often its just a faceroll win or loss, which means mediocre XP in either case. Best not to play randoms when we have 200% bonus, and use flags/camos for Brawls or something, where you get 2500 XP guaranteed (in a win ofc).
