Are WG really releasing a cruiser that can kill a Thunderer in 15 seconds?

This is true on so many levels... ralph wiggum... thunderer players.... -
What is your "exit strategy" with the free Captain respec ending in less than 2 days away?
DFens_666 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Basicly resetted everything which is a highpoint captain. Had some 10-11 pointers skilled on midtier ships, which i leave be. 10 pt builds always start the same anyway, and there is hardly any reason to deviate from that. So even if WG would nerf/buff skills, it probably wouldnt matter on those captains. But for the 19pointers, i wanna be on the safe side. -
Why are people obsessed with stats in random games?

You know whats funny? Its always the... below average, nicely speaking, players who claim this. Must be coincidence -

German BB captain - what's it gonna be?
DFens_666 replied to SolanumTuberosumRex's topic in General Discussion
Well, last time i played Kremlin I rushed in out of sheer boredom, as you can see, we were almost winning anyway because the enemies camped so hard. But the Shima actually camped behind the island to devstrike me (still managed to kill him lol). Would have been rather in a GK, because with Hydro this couldnt have happened. Not to mention hitting 2 shells on a broadside vermont at 8km for 5k damage because my gunners are perma-infused with vodka doesnt make things better, even my GK would deal more damage in a situation like that. Seriously, i dont enjoy playing Kremlin anyway. I think i had 2 good games out of 11, were i said i felt the good dispersion. Other times its just pure horseshit. My kremlin missed the "good longrange dispersion". Probably GK can make up for that by having 3 more shells in the air. Also Kremlin has no Hydro and (atleast in theory) a citadel, which means, if you need to make a move, you might fail miserably. I still think, GK is the best ship to make a push, in case you need to make one. Again, meta might not be favourable for it... but i still wouldnt spec my GK as any other BB, then i would just play something else. Sure if you want to use secondaries you can go all-in (swap CE for mansec and take new AFT (whatever its called)), but that seems to be more like a suicidal meme-build than trying to make the best out of the situation we have. -

German BB captain - what's it gonna be?
DFens_666 replied to SolanumTuberosumRex's topic in General Discussion
I used to play tank GK before, and it does (did?) make sense, because GK is an extremely tanky ship. And GK is one of the best ships to make a push if necessary. Ofc the even more campy meta than before might make this kinda obsolete. Sure you can hope to make use of a push once in a while if you are looking for that. But i wouldnt actually count on using those secondaries, outside of a little bit damage here and there. Something like this could make sense imo. The first one has 11km secondaries, the latter 9,15km. The advantage of the latter is better ruddershift, which makes maneuvering a bit more bearable imo. Assuming ofc 21 pts, which might be a problem, otherwise its 18 pts. But i wouldnt play without either BoS or DCP mod in 4th slot. One is a must have. If you want to play GK to brawl, then this would be my go to build. I might take this myself, because you can get a pretty decent reload if you have ships in secondary range. With AR kicking in at halfhealth, you are looking at a 21 sec reload with 12 guns. Still the issue with the camping meta, which could mean you wont get to use it often, but if you dont want to try it in the first place, then id say: dont play GK^^ Sitting back and using your mainguns from range, most other BBs are better doing that job. GK should be used as a pusher/brawler. Some maps are ofc more suited to do this, im thinking of northern waters or hotspot, where islands let you get close enough to maybe get ships into your secondary range to get the reloadboost working. Pommern ill go more secondary focused, but thats my go to ship for smaller modes like 3x3 brawls where it becomes very strong (might even go all in with IFHE^^). But since its a premium, i can also just use any other captain with less insane build, which is also kinda nice. -
Secondaries - Utterly, utterly worthless now.

Id still take it if i want to play a secondary BB tho Otherwise we see what happens... -

In that case you basicly dont receive any damage at all anymore, and if he would deal another 40k to you (which is totaly possible, even if you dont have that amount of HP), he would lose 40k himself. See that clip. Hipper is pink and torps Flamu. Flamu received a few hundred damage from the torps, but Hipper kills himself. The clip is a bit older even, i think these days it might even be a harsher penalty, as the hipper basicly survives 5 torps before it kills itself. -
TBH it might make matters worse even. Imagine you start to play, even if you dont understand much, you understand sinking enemy ships. And those ships basicly dont even hit you, while you somewhat manage to hit them in return. You just rush up the tiers, because its so easy and you are doing great... then you hit T5. Suddenly, you are getting a**r*p*d so hard, that its not even funny anymore. So did it do you any good? X for doubt... protected MM needs to be reworked. It needs to cover all tiers, so that people buying a premium T9 ship with 15 battles played cant ruin the game for everyone else on their team. Let them play against noob bots. But when they advance through their protected MM, make the bots stronger, so they actually might learn something while playing, and not get fed to the sharks once the protected MM ends.

Are we talking about randoms or Coop here? Because after checking your stats, you seem to be playing Coop more often, so i dunno which one you are talking about As for randoms: Generally you want to fight enemy DDs. Stealthtorping doesnt really work that well with the T5-6 because their detectability is the same as their torprange (assuming you have a 10pt captain with concealment expert). Jervis can stealthtorp with 7km range and 6,3km detectability. Whether you should directly engage a DD depends on a few things: - Can you outspot him? If yes, you might aswell spot him for your team first and see what happens. So if your team shoots him, that makes it easier for you to start engaging him aswell. If no, then it gets more tricky. That usually happens if you are facing T8-9 DDs when playing T6-7 DD yourself, because they can outspot you, while generally boasting more firepower on top of that. But sometimes it can also happen against midtier IJN DDs, which also have good concealment. Against those, you want to take the gunfight, because you want to get rid of them. But against T8-9 DDs which outspot you, you dont want to engage them directly. At best, you can try to surprise them from behind an island, so you spot them when they spot you, and then you start to chunk them aswell. Also in this scenario, you ALWAYS want to be kiting away. If you are kiting, its always easier for you to hit the enemy DD, while its harder for him to hit you. With your shortduration smokes, you can easily disengage and get unspotted if you need to. - Dont get trapped in a bow-on position against the enemies. You will often bleed a lot of health. If you want to get a cap, reversing into it can be the safe option. Do that close to an island, so you can disengage. Im no fan of sitting behind an island inside a cap, because that makes you and your team blind. If you sit next to the island, you see other ships approaching and you can still sail behind the island if you need to, taking minimal damage, or none at all. - The more you know about concealment values of other DDs, the better it is for you. Because then, you can plan your approach from the start. You see, what lineup the enemies have, and then you know "this DD can outspot me, but this one cant", which is vital. When you get rid of the DDs, you can also get the cap much easier then if they are still sailing around.

Wargaming quick math: The amount of Steel and Doubloons awarded for each Sprint has been doubled.
DFens_666 replied to GarrusBrutus's topic in General Discussion
Now if people dont measure rewards in time, they actually get double the reward... alltho for me the correct way is this: old: 8 wins = 300 steel + r1 100 steel (could theoratically be 9 wins = 400 steel) new: 9 wins = 600 steel + R1 200 steel (best case 14 wins = 800 steel). So going from 400 to 800 steel in one sprint is doubling it. However, we also need more wins to achieve this. But going from 300 to 600 steel takes basicly the same amount of games (8w vs 9w), so thats definetely doubling the reward for no more effort. I think this time the system is better now, alltho im still not happy with gold league. I dont see a reason to get into gold, especially if bad players still manage to get there by spamming enough games. Sure, the qualifiers are harder this time, but we will see to what extend it prevents bad players from advancing. I expect they will eventuall get into gold too, but it mostly depends how fast good players get through the qualifier. Maybe it will be even easier, as they have 2 weeks to do it. So good players advance first week, and then bad players rank out amongst each other, which makes it much easier for them to advance. -

Team damage tracking system is laughable
DFens_666 replied to callumwaw's topic in General Discussion
Probably because 99% of the teamdamage is unintentional, but in cases like this, there should be additional punishment... so in a way, i can understand if they dont want to deal with this, because they would need to look at all of them to determine, if it was unintentional or deliberate. -

DFens_666 replied to Dampfboot's topic in General Discussion
I think most would be fine if they just nerf the HE shells. Bellerophon + Orion can probably stay like that and be fine Iron duke might need a buff QE can stay the same, it was always better with AP KGV needs a buff, but dunno what. Improved AP angles, but DoY has that, so that would be kinda weird. Definetely needs its old citadel back. Monarch is imo fine, i played it AP focused and it wasnt bad at all Lion probably needs changes aswell, id prefer better fireangle for the backturret Conq - dunno? maybe also slightly improved AP angles, like Stalingrad. Could do the same for Lion. Thunderer is fine even if you would remove HE completely. -
Last week i had issues all the time aswell... Guns shooting too late, like lagging. weird desync, in where i see a lot more shells hit than the game credited me for, but funnily this changed even within one game. Sometimes shells count - sometimes not.

I think Lion is a pile of steaming hot turd

The UK BB appreciation thread (MM why?)
DFens_666 replied to Dampfboot's topic in General Discussion
MM only cares for nation - not individual ships... which is quite stupid. Would be better to split same ships than same nations, like one team getting only Kansas' and the others get Massas and NCs -
I think 30 wins in 2 or 3 days is too much in the 7x7 environment for all the rewards (which arent that great in the first place btw) Its ok in 3x3 and maybe even 5x5, because the games are going much faster. But in 7x7, especially if 2 good clans face one another, a game can go beyond 15 minutes, so that can be like 3 games an hour, which you wont win all ofc (again concidering good clans playing amongst each other). So 30 wins in 3x3 is fine, often games only last 5 mins or a bit more, so you can get wins fast. Losing also doesnt matter so much because time is not an issue. In 5x5 its also ok, but could be a bit lower, maybe 24? In 7x7, it should be max 15 wins. Thats already plenty for those rewards. Its quite unrealistic to think, people play 5h straight for 5days in a row - and even if SOME clans/players do it, i doubt the majority will get those rewards.
