Eh... i really wouldnt get it. Since cruisers dont have access to Bos and FP any longer, Stalingrad got pretty vulnerable to fires. You can forget about sitting bow-in somewhere. You want to turn around preemptively, and then shoot from 20km, because all the HE spamming Thunderers will just focus you. If that is something you like to do, then you can get Stalingrad. Somers = wouldnt get it. Imo its not really that unique to justify being a steelship. Also gets removed in 2 weeks Plymouth = kinda interesting. Its like putting an Edinburgh together with a Smoke and Radar Mino into one bowl, and you get a Smoke + radar 16 gun DD shredding platform. Bourgogne = I liked it before the captain rework a lot. But now it kinda suffers with all the camping going on. Flanking is not really an option, especially with all the Thunderers just farting HE your way. I think it needs to focus on HE more than before, which i dont like. FDR = well, CV noobies dream ship. Not really that strong for good CV players, but thanks to extremely tanky planes, i guess every monkey can strike ships with it before losing all planes. Stalin = as i said before. Guns are still awesome, but staying power in world of HE is practically gone. Huge, clumsy and turns like a brick. You overextend = you get farmed to death. Everyone hates Stalingrad, and everyone will shoot you when spotted. Not fun to play in randoms IMO. Shiki = kinda like a Yamato. Hits harder but only 6 shells. I think its too similar to Yamato to spend so much steel, but thats just my opinion. I have Bourgogne, Stalingrad and Plymouth. Currently i think, i enjoy Plymouth the most, but its a very unique playstyle, and VERY risky if you want to kill DDs with it. High risk = high reward.

What if BBs would just stop speccing concealment and get the benefit from 18km?
-
It could make sense if everyone would skill AA, however - 90% of the DDs never turn their AA on - half of the other classes never seem to activate sector reinforcement just rough guesses, so... we would get more effect from AA if people would start using it properly. Its always fascinating when a CV strikes a group of 4 ships, and after he already entered the AA from 2 or 3 other ships, and you hit sector reinforcement, he doesnt lose a plane. He would, if others would have done it before

Are the tokens for the Italian campaign rather generous?
DFens_666 replied to Camperdown's topic in General Discussion
That would put us back like 2 years ago when they removed BB AP pens on DDs. Except with SAP, every shell would be guaranteed that damage. Sometimes in the old days, you got a couple of pens on DD and that DD lost like 75% of is HP. Now imagine an italian BB hitting a DD, dealing 3-4k damage per shell. Hitting a DD with 3 or 4 shells is not unlikely, even at midrange, so that would basicly mean, DD goes poof. -
Id use this as 10pt core build. You dont really need SI, because you have 1more heal build-in. After that you can almost take whatever - Faster turret traverse: One of the more useful ones, id definetely take it - IFA: if you want/need it - Demo-Expert: not the best thing, but everything else is equally bad - Heavy AP: Rather useless imo, but again, so is everything else - TGG: If you hope you can close the distance every 10th game or so - AA skills: if you feel like shooting 1 or 2 more planes down is worth it to you Thats basicly all the "usefull" (more like not completely useless) skills which you can take. Does it matter which one you take? Very much doubt it... their benefit is so small, that you will hardly realize any of those. Thats why TGG can make sense, because you will feel the DPM increase if you ever get close to other ships, which can also happen in a cyclone.

Otherwise CVs would have broken that measurement anyway

Maybe Epicenter could work on Shatter or Sea of Fortune. There are more islands in the center, and Cruisers tend to go towards those islands. So they would help capping, or block the caps for that matter so that games are not so one-sided. A bit bigger caps could also be nice on the maps we currently use. Or how about 2 smaller circles on each side of the map?

Noob eating flak? Fighter planes? 3+vermont. Depending on gameflow, Vermont AA couldnt reach the CV striking our DD tho. 27 planes? Well ok, 19 for Vermont, im not sure if/how often CV attacked him. I think at times, he attacked DD or me, then continued to drop our Vermont after that. Thats still only 46 planes in like 11 minutes or so.

Epicenter is only fun on the low-midtier maps Big race and Trident. But on hightiers, it just doesnt work, which means Tears of the desert, Northern waters and Ice Islands. Problem with those maps, and especially TotD because of its diagonal spawn, that people just dont care for objectives AND they always go to the place they always go. People always go where the red circles are (or BBs just camp in spawn...), and noone can/want to go in the center because you get crossfired to pieces. Only DDs can go there, and most of the time even they wont. Then one team gets all caps and then game is basicly over. Same on TotD, most people go into the corners, or never touch the circles in the first place. Ice Islands is the worst. We all know, 80% of the players sit at the islands where C-cap usually is. The rest sit where A is. Noone goes center. Big Race and Trident are inheritly different, especially for Cruisers. They dont go to spots, where the Epicenter circles are not, because there are no islands. Cruisers are usually in the red square, often at islands, which is INSIDE of the circles. Why would they go to the yellow squares? No islands to hide, only open water. Either increase the circle size on hightier maps or maybe give them an oval shape, so that people end up in the cicles automatically. Looks like an eye, but i guess it shows what i mean

Give AA a buff the more time planes spend in the targets AA, basicly make them more accurate. So if a CV keeps attacking/spotting one target all the time, his AA will get stronger. Over time, the buff reduces to normal again, so we dont end up with too strong AA on all ships. But that would finaly help people, who are being nonstop focused by the CV to give them some breathing space in between. Noone wants to be targeted the entire time till he just rolls over and dies, because there is 0,0% fun to be had in this. CV players should finaly start to use their brains aswell, and dont just demand to kill everything they lay their wings on.

175k coal... legendary commanders, a poll
DFens_666 replied to MrWastee's topic in General Discussion
And then you would need more than one captain because...? You can already use them on basicly all premiums these days, which is more than before. Some exceptions may apply especially for Cruisers, but you can play them with 10-13 points just fine, so it would actually not matter. -
[Co-op] New bot behaviour? Smoke hiding BB with team damage
DFens_666 replied to Johnny_Moneto's topic in General Discussion
But he got punished, case closed for WG! So Bots are immitating human players now? Or maybe thats how devs are playing BBs themselves... -
AA should get stronger the more often a CV is spotting/attacking you. It cant be, that a CV can fly circles over 1 or 2 ships for more than 10 out of not even 12 minutes, harassing them permanently. I might aswell start cleaning my house, thats more fun. In yesterdays game, thats exactly what happened. And who profits from crap like that? BBabies camping the back. DDs and Cruisers are just pinatas to be farmed, or at best to slaughter each other while the CV can [edited]them from the sky. So why not train AA gunners so to say. If your AA is active, your AA gunners get more accurate over time. That would prevent a CV from just attacking 1 or 2 ships over and over.

Doesnt make for a good game tho... also, if everyone would play BB, then everyone would also sit in queue forever

Repair party would definetely be good for all cruisers. It certainly wouldnt break anything, because Cruisers fight other Cruisers too, so its not like they only get staying power against BBs/DDs. Especially T8 Cruiser are in such a rough spot, an extra heal would make a big difference. In any T8 clan-mode, DDs (kiev) are just superior to Cruisers. Heck even right now in the T9 season, Mogador spam is a thing in higher leagues. DDs seem to be more popular lately, 4 or even 5 DD/side random battles seem to become more frequent, same as in ranked with 3BB/4DD games. And what do BBs do ofc? Complain about how OP DDs are Thats what you get for r*ping your counter too hard - noone wants to be target practice all the time. Problem is, Cruiser players migrate to something else, but BBabies dont stop playing BBs. Instead they will whine to WG to buff BBs even more and/or nerf DDs.

DD dumpstering machine back in business The Gearing was rather funny, i smoked up (because CV...) but RPF indicated that Halland is in radar range. Gearing sat behind island to wait out radar, meanwhile i already torped ahead. Then when radar was off, i went out of my smoke, and spotted him with his pants down and torps being 2 sec away from hitting and i shoot a salvo and he just evaporates from 100 to 0 OFC the game was no fun at all, because the CV kept perma-assraping our division, and enemies just suicided like no tomorrow... its a lose-lose situation: They lose the game, we dont have fun -
Do they get parachutes for safer landing at that range?

43k avg damage and 0,39 avg kills... so if you get 4 kills on one game, that means in the other 30 games you got 8 kills total? Ive had no issues winning my last 4 games. I deal thrice your damage and get 4,5 times your kills (not to mention surviving much more often too) Maybe you need to accept that you just cant get into Silver, because your skill level wont let you. And not game rigging against you -
In the test season there was a saferank at R3 in bronze, not sure why that was removed.

Pre-captain rework: 1. Atlanta with range x can skill AFT for range y 2. Flint with range x can skill AFT for range y after captain rework 3. Atlanta gets buff so that range y is now standard range 4. Flint gets no buff, is stuck with range x Why would performance between 1. and 3. be different? You already knew how Atlanta performs with 13km range - it was old Atlanta with AFT. Or did someone at WG expect, that Atlanta (Cruisers in general) get buffed with the captain rework? If you want to know how Flint/Atlanta performed with 11km range, just look at people who didnt spec AFT prior to rework. If you cant nerf/buff premiums as you wish, why couldnt you make a module, maybe as test for 1 patch ONLY for Atlanta and Flint, which increases range by 20%? Let them put it into 5th slot, which they didnt have anyway, that way, you wouldnt run into problems with buffing them. After you are done testing, you can decide to buff them for real, or just let them have the module instead. If you decided, no, they dont need extra range, remove 5th slot as global change for T7 US CLs

This sprint ranked - could be worse i suppose. First i thought i could have fun with secondary Pommern... which didnt really work at all, because DDs decided who wins. So i switched to DDs, which was pretty easy going. I just killed enemy DDs, got some caps and then it was basicly won. Ended up at R3 with 12 wins, and wasnt sure if i want to go R1. So yesterday played 1 Georgia to see how it does. Was a win. Today i thought, well lets see what happens again, won first one, so i kept going. Needed 4 stars, got 4 wins with Georgia, so R1 i was. CV first blood - why not -
Funny and sad game situations shown with map screenshots.

Asking my CV right from the start to spot A for us, because we were 2 on that flank, other flank had a DD to spot for it... nothing ofc. So Neptune goes into A, spots fletcher briefly, we chunk him before he gets undetected. CV? still no help. Neptune basicly gets devstruck from i have no [edited]idea what? So i kite away from A... still asking CV to spot DD so i can maybe turn around. Fletcher from B/C yoles into center, eats torp from CV, then open water gunboats a yoloing Pommern (died at the center island), because why not throw your ship away for an already dead enemy. So then Alaska pings map and says this in chat: Yes BB, just kill DD which noone is spotting for you. The Fletcher was so slow coming out of A, i had no idea where he was as i was mostly unspotted. I assumed he was center (which he was), because finaly Alaska thought about popping radar and then went to Cap A. Why not do it the easy way right away? Well, easy way would have been CV spots the Fletcher which had like 10% HP left, but cant have that. So Alaska capped A and killed the Brindisi, i yoloed into C to stop points from ticking and we barely got the win in the end (got me R1). CV just suicides his hull into us... that it ever happens to the enemy team Yeah, never played reworked CVs btw, first game EVER (no randoms/ranked/Coop), but ofc because he had RTS lexington, why not jump back in with totaly new concept. He never started planes eitehr, so i guess he just didnt know what to do with it? Maybe hasnt played in years i dunno... but well done WG -
I think it doesnt make sense, that from Bronze R5 to R1 you need 8 consecutive stars, which is more than Silver qualifier (5) or gold qualifier (7). Which doesnt make sense when WG is handing out 80% of the rewards for wins, not stars/ranks. So people can just yolo for their rewards without ever playing properly. Might aswell give them the stars ontop of it...
