    Imagine there would be a Cruiser skill to add 10mm of armor everywhere Would be nice to "rebalance" their weak point. 37mm bow + 40mm midsection muahahaha, sounds balanced. Thats basicly Deadeye for Cruisers
  2. Well im using Secondary mod because i play it full secondary. But im basicly only playing it in smaller gamemodes like ranked or brawls where you get to make use of the secondaries. In randoms, you might just take ASM1 instead. I like to have as much secondary range as possible, because i also have CQC skilled, which means -10% reload on my main guns if i have a ship in secondary range. With reload mod, your reload is something like 26 seconds, which is very good for a 12 gun BB. If you skill AR, reload gets better even more when you lose health

    Overmatching shells should always trigger the fuse from what i know, basicly resulting in a penetration. The normal fuse timer still applies ofc, which is 0.033 sec for most ships. So if the shell stays inside of the ship, it will cause penetration damage, or if it still reaches the citadel, it will deal citadel damage (bow/stern overmatch). You can see this when 2 Yamatos shoot each others bow, sometimes you can get a citadel, but often you will get pens. The overmatch causes the shell to arm and it detonates before it reaches the frontal citadel plating. Thats basicly the problem with Cruisers and angling, went to the training room to showcase what i mean: 47° angle, so its outside of autobounce. 2 Shells hit the thinner parts = 2 overpens. 2 Shells hit the citadel. 30° angle, which is guarateed to bounce unless it overmatches. 1 Shell passes through bow into the citadel. So we have 2 overpens and 2 pens. So atleast 2 shells got pens somewhere, not on the turrets tho, as they wouldnt have dealt full damage in that case i believe? (think turret pens give only overpen damage right? cant remember everything WG is changing...) I assume same happens with barbette pens. Fully bow on neptune, 1 shell hits the citadel, 3 penetrat somewhere, 2 overpen somewhere. Incidently, im short 1480 damage, not sure how that works out.

    Maybe overmatching shells should deal reduced damage - like 50% less than they would normaly do. Making Cruisers too tanky against BBs is not something id personaly agree with, because it will create a CV-like environement, where bad Cruiser players will still get devstruck because they show broadside, and good Cruiser players would just easily tank BBs and would just rush them down in 1v1 engagements. Only getting half the damage through overmatch would atleast make some aggressive play possible, as the chance of getting suddenly deleted is basicly 0 then. And angling would actually migitate damage. Whether this should apply to all classes is up for debate i suppose. But i dont think Yamato would need such a huge nerf when shooting other BBs, so maybe just Cruisers only.

    Thats MM forcing them to wait, because the T6 ship was supposed to face T8 opponents Since MM can only do that with another faildiv OR if they sat in queue for 3+ mins, it will just keep them waiting till either happens. Thats the glorious thing which happened after WG added the xx/xx/xx% low-mid-toptier rule. If you had your share of top- or midtier games, you will be lowtier.

    I thought that was common knowledge WG will never allow CV population to drop below a certain level. If it does, they WILL buff them. After watching the video, it does make sense, that german CVs are the ones getting AP rockets and skip bombers. German ships will always attract people, so they give them something new to play with = more CV players = profit. Didnt think about that one before...

    Faildiv sat in queue for 3+ mins, so they can get matched against highertier ships (not toptier tho). Västeräs got thrown under the bus with the same rule. Faildivs need to be prohibited below T8, its just causing trouble all the time, because there are so many people who want to rig MM in their favour, which doesnt work.
  10. Some, well not brawling, but atleast secondary range engagements Crashzone Alpha in ranked with Pommern, told my team to go all A+B. Funnily, they all did... sadly, 4 of them went behind the islands on J-line and ended up on J1, while 3 of us actually steamed into A-cap against 6 enemy ships + Ägir coming back from C. Secondaries were basicly firing nonstop at all angles (1110 shells fired in 8 minutes gametime, 2-3 of those without ships in range ofc). Still 50k damage with secondaries and fires, not bad. It would have been more fun if my 2 other BBs wouldnt have went border humping, so they could have killed the DD who was just sitting there, throwing torps at me all the time from the 1-line.

    Even with Deadeye, most of the whining came from BBs who cant use their secondaries anymore, because "secondaries got """nerfed""" into oblivion" I have 81% survivability with Cruisers this year, from that pov, i couldnt care less. That doesnt mean, that deadeye is a good skill to have. Its bad for bad players, because they are better off with shotgun dispersion, but its too good for good players, because they can aim where they want to hit. So even considering its a dummy-skill for majority of the playerbase, its still bad for the game, because we dont need to increase the skillgap even further. Its bad for the game, it made BB sniping from the back even worse, and it made good BB players stronger - GG WG

  13. You can get him by buying containers with the collection items. Which most likely results in same price as 175k or maybe a bit less. Thats why i doubt that they will put him into the armory for 175k coal directly. What happens when people buy containers for the collection AND buy him seperately with coal? They get him twice? Didnt want to add anything else, just say that you can actually buy him right now.

    Its not really a damage dealer, but its insanely strong against DDs. The biggest weakness are the horrible turret angles, which means you have to basicly go flat broadside to use all your guns. In that sense, radar Mino is a bit easier while fighting DDs, because you can use your guns better (and ofc faster reload). But Plymouth has the smoke to disengage or start farming BBs (if BBs would actually move up these days...) I recommend rangemod, the base 15,3km is not enough these days, atleast for me. 17,7km gives a bit more options, especially when smoking up and everyone instantly turns away. I think the fist 5 or 6 games i played with reload mod, and my average was 60-70k somewhere. After swapping to range, i got a couple 120k+ games aswell, because getting a bit more dakka action I doubt itll be good for competetive, because the radar is only 9km (1km less than radar mino). If its CV meta, then everyone camps in the back, if for some reason its not CVs, you still get 12km balanz-radar, and AP only means = 0 damage against Petro-tank-lovsk. Without CVs, Radar Mino would probably be the stronger pick aswell.

    They always need ages to fix anything Ofc if they would care about feedback, Deadeye wouldnt have made it into the game in the first place... So best case we hear something about it in 2 weeks, but nothing certain at this point. Probably deadeye gets replaced by a new skill.

    With DDs, i dont care so much for damage. I have 40k myself, but 11 kills in 5 games, of which 7 were DDs. (one Neustra was kinda close, but he ran away, and with his zombie heal, i didnt want to take an open fight with him) 1 Loss is missing, which i kinda effed myself, but i had 12k on an XTREM Halland while he hardly got anything on my... sadly, Halland torps reach 90kts, i didnt expect them at that point (i thought he could have torped there, but he basicly threw behind where i was going..) so i had to turn in, and got spotted through stupid islands when his team farmed me (hate those islands where you sometimes can see a ship over it) I basicly dont see any problems with fighting DDs and getting caps. Now torping people, thats the hard part Out of the few torps ive hit, 2 of them dealt less than <1k damage, because the ship was basicly dead The 2nd game i just went center on Sleeping giant, got the öster there. Daring and Halland were consecutively in A cap, first Daring, killed it, Halland had no choice to contest A (because his team was falling apart with no caps, and its a hurricane clan player), so i just waited at the gap in A for him to come around. Then started to dakka him once he did. I generally want to go, where enemy DDs have no support, so i can snack them myself (hence going center on Sleeping giant f.e.). Either i get the cap for free, or i get the DD AND the cap Thats basicly all i do, and since we know what teams do without DD support, aka run to the mapborder, i dont expect to get much damage out of it. Flamu said yes, but i think i wont take it. The concealment nerf doesnt matter so much because of the radar, but i rather take some other skills which help me more (RPF, SI). I was thinking to take the new AFT so i can shoot a bit after ive killed the DDs. What is the range, 12,x with so many russkibalanz radars and CVs around, more range could help with that. But not sure, ill take SI first (ive played with a 10pt captain first, then buffed it to 14 because i wanted RPF )

    While i agree, that we have certain ships not being available anymore for all players is a bad thing, but if you gonna focus on that you will always have a bad time. I know some people ive played back in the days who simply quit the game over this issue, and ofc i can understand that. But in the end, thats really the only option or you gotta let it go. If you keep making excuses because the opponents had "better" (arguably - Smolensk in ranked is just garbage btw) ships, then you will never become a better player. Look at this game i had in ranked this week: The enemies have 2 Alaskas and an Azuma, while we only have normal Cruisers. The Alaskas are much stronger, have more HP, bigger guns and are tankier. But why throw in the towel right at the start? I know what i am capable of, and who knows, maybe the Alaskas are really bad players, and mine atleast manage to stay alive (thats really all it takes). In the end, we won. And 2 of my Cruisers managed to survive (barely, but still, atleast the St Louis). My first salvo on the Alaska was 37k, he was first blood soon after.

    AFKs in ranked

    They dont get a star... talking from experience, and i wasnt even totaly AFK. I just had a power outing and couldnt get back into the game (after i already played - had like 40-50k damage) and still got no star There should be a heftier penatly for being AFK tho, if it happens more than once.
  22. Just to wrap up the story from @ForlornSailor and @WolfGewehr Not much to do for me. Trying to radar the DDs, while at the same time there are a total of 6 or 7 ships (2 DDs, PR, Mino, GK, Hindi, Petro = 7 + CV so actually 8) within 12km of me. Man the PR and CV were horny for me. So it was just tanking damage (1,16 million), staying alive and shooting down some planes in the process. Still had a good 12-13k HP left, so could have tanked some more Anyway, this Plymouth game was much more intense for me. Somehow, our team just pops left right and center. Forlorn and Wolf go towards A, which ofc triggers the remaining enemies (iowa, DM, Smolensk) to immediately push into me. So i put some islands at B between me and DM, while using radar (i already sat his out before) so i could shoot him while not being spotted. And another heartbreaking loss, because RASHIAN IRONBALL DOES NOT SINK XAXAXAXA I was Venezia...

    I have Musashi, Missouri, Georgia, JB and Alaska... and i played exactly 0, 0, 4, 0 and 0 games with them in ranked. Only played Georgia because i got it recently and wanted to try it out. Btw, complaining 2 weeks after 2 of those ships got removed must be next level. Infact i played 5 games Pommern (which you can get) and 7 games Fletcher and 6 games in Jutland. Fletcher and Jutland - techtree DDs, everyone can get them easily. They are much better at carrying than all BBs. What can a Musashi do against a DD? nothing, you may need some time to kill it, but he simply cant spot and kill you. But ofc, mighty BBs are the most OP ships in the game, because they have big'uns

    They simply do not care at all. Balancing? Teamplay? nah... doesnt matter Its a game, where the individual player can do whatever he wants, and WG is encouraging that. Turn around in spawn with your ship and play cruiseship-simulator? No problem, you can do that. But remember to invest as much money as possible, thats the most important thing. Playing properly is not needed. Playing to win? What heresy is this You are supposed to have phun. If you are having fun while shooting 35km with your rangemod spotterplane Yamato - thats great. And if someone calls you out for doing it - no worries, just report him and he will get chatbanned, because he is the evil villain who is destroying YOUR EXPERIENCE!

    Somehow i find that hard to believe, alltho ive heard the same stuff. I guess its 3x SU tryhard divs with US DD smoking that Austin up and then let it rain death from smoke. The only thing i wonder is, how easy does it get killed. It has only 30k HP and standard heal. Smolensk has more guns with better reload, even with the reload booster. I also assume, Smolensk has far superior gunarcs, which let you hit stuff at 16km. Not sure if buffing 15km austin range with rangemod make any sense? But we will see i guess, there are no gun characteristics available on wowsft for Austin... Austin has 1% higher firechance,but less shells and slower reload, so Smolensk even starts more fires. If we look at SAP performance, we could compare it to Minotaur, and that has better performance aswell? Dunno... i just cant see Austin being OP, unless it has no citadel and Smolensk-like railguns (which i doubt).
