I blame the 1x1 Brawl for that... It was totaly fine before that started, and now its a complete mess. I guess all the people who try to actually play went into the 1x1, leaving the yolo bots behind to "farm" steel.

Yesterday i watched a YT video from Flambass, and right at the start of the game, one of his teammates said something "speshuul". And he followed through on it. I dont want to talk about this person, nor do i want to shame him, because then this thread gets locked, so please no shaming! There is the video first. IT should be clear, which ship we are talking about. So now we have this out of the way. If you watch the video, you can see that he barely can do anything from his position. At some point, a Smaland gets close to him which he probably shot? Since we cant see it, its hard to tell. And in the end, he gets rushed by a DM, on which he gets some damage aswell (like 20-25k maybe?) But the real shocker to me was, that he actually got MORE THAN 1000 BASE XP FOR THIS! How does reversing to the J-line, and never even touching the H-line after spawn gets rewarded with 3rd place/1k XP? How is this fair to anyone, who actually tried to play the game? Not to mention, the endgame was 3vs1, so imagine if it would have been someone playing properly. With a reward system like this, we truely dont have to wonder if everyone wants to sit on J-Line... Probably a futile topic anyway, at some point a mod will lock it for naming&shaming, but its so outrageous that i had to share it.

Well, thats how it goes these days, isnt it?

Well if you move them up a tier, then you gotta give them better armor too. Nelson with 32mm bow/stern would be OP (well maybe not OP, but too strong i think), since only Yamasushi guns can overmatch it. If you dont buff the armor, then its crap. So cant really get uptiered, it either becomes crap or too strong. Lyons guns arent really that great for T8, only 340mm. Yes, Odin has 305mm, but it has a ton of other gimmicks aswell. Btw there is already a T8 french techtree ship, whats supposed to happen with Richelieu? You would need to buff its dispersion, because thats the only thing holding it back, and when it gets accurate then you need to nerf the reload to keep it balanced... All in all, why? If you want a Nelson on T8, get Lenin.

The first salvo could have been a little bit more to the front - you got 1 pen + 1 cit and 4 ricochets. Aiming a bit at the bow, because the bow is flatter towards you, should have gotten more damage. Possibly even killing him with the torps. The backtturret either into the superstructure or as much into the bow as possible. But you shot his belt, which shattered and bounced. The frontguns again, go for the superstructure. If a ship is weak, rather go for the guaranteed damage than trying to get citadels / belt pens. Superstructure is always easy damage, even if its overpens, it would have killed him. If you would have been a BB with 380mm guns or more, you could have overmatched his bow and upper belt, which would have killed him either way. Sadly, Scharnhorst only has 283mm guns, which bounces on most BBs except bow/stern on certain T5 BBs.

The last 20 games get automatically saved in your wows folder. Just go to your wows folder, and look for the one saying "replays". Should be in there.
-
Can you upload the replay? Kinda hard to tell what was going on. I assume you were broadside and he was bow on to you? If yes, then it probably would have made sense to go for the superstructure (depends). But the replay would help more, to give you a conclusive answer.

Not at all? Have you played CBs this season? - Mogador The top clans have been using Mogadors... A LOT we are talking like up to 4 at times. - Alaska Many clans outside of the topclans use Alaska, because its a strong ship, especially when the enemies are not running around with several DDs. - Georgia / Musashi Basicly everyone uses any of the 2 (some clans use both, or the same twice) These bans make perfect sense when it comes to popularity.
-
That would happen if WG would actually listen to the playerbase But im pretty sure, next CB season will be TX again (with CVs) and WG will again limit/ban ships... which will cause a huge backlash again, because limiting Venezia and Petro will not go down nicely, when every other ship gets raped hard by CVs
-
Brawls are usually setup in a way, that the more you win the more you will face clans that also win often. Brawls had a rating, and if you were high in that rating, you faced clans close to your rating aswell. But since i see no rating in 1v1s, i kinda doubt that its a thing? But im not sure really...The only thing it would do is, if you win a lot you face players who also win a lot, nothing else.

If everyone would have played Donskoi, then Donskoi would have been limited... or is Mogador a premium too? Musashi and Alaska are not even that strong compared to others, the lack of them the higher leagues show that. Are they stronger for the average player? Most likely yes... however, does it matter if everyone is limited from using them? It should make 0 difference. Whether its 3x Alaska vs 3x Alaska or 1xAlaska + 2x something else vs 1x Alaska +2x something else is the same thing. Also i doubt that there are many people who thought "ill spend 70 bucks now to play CBs"... WG once said its like 10% (i believe) of the playerbase is actively playing CBs... That a vast number of people is getting robbed out of playing Alaska and Georgia is probably just a myth. Sure, there will be few people who maybe bought one of them prior to CBs to play them there. But i dont see a reason, why a few people should have a bigger say if the majority thinks, that ship bans and limits are a good thing. And in the end, WG usually doesnt even care about majorities in the first place - they do want they want. But once its actually overlapping with what a lot of people have been hoping for years now...
-
Nah, not the same people. Now we have gale/Squall league CB players complaining, that they cant play their favourite ships anymore. Before that it was Typhoon/Hurricane players complaining, and for KotS the viewers who always just saw the same stuff over and over. But as usually, you cant please anyone, so you will always have some people complain about this, and if you do the opposite, then others complain about that. Cant win with it.

If WG would remove the 3BB hardcap per team, every game would have 6 BBs (in ranked) and 10BBs in randoms... We have like 43-44% BBs on hightiers, so one class is making up for almost 50% of the population, while 3 others make up the other half. We are playing World of Battleships aka WoBBs

Secondary builds that are actually better after rework
DFens_666 replied to leonport's topic in General Discussion
Torps might not be directly useful, but they are a deterrent for getting rammed. Too many players will just attempt to ram you when they see that they are dying, but they wont attempt that against a ship which has torps. Luckily, its almost impossible to know if a ship has lost its torptubes, unless the player in question destroyed them themselves (and even then 99% probably wont notice). People are way more hesitent to get close to a german BB, than they are against Massa. Believe me, ive played my fair share of secondary BBs aswell (not so much in randoms, but ranked too). People attempt to ram my Massa frequently, but they do not when i play Pommern. Must be the Torps. Also just as a headsup: That wall of text could have done with a couple of spaces in between, it was hard to read Incidently, i hated my Amagi. Guns just didnt hit at all, Every game was just a pure grind with getting overpens nontstop. Massa has derpguns, but i still get reliable citadels with it - not something i do recall with Amagi. Reason? dont ask me, but i know Amagi is either loved or hated. I hated it. -
Anyone else report players who try hard too much?

What if someone with 30k games is also a noob? Also what ive seen over the years, its not good players insulting bad players right from the starts - its usually the biggest noobs insulting others for being bad. -

Secondary builds that are actually better after rework
DFens_666 replied to leonport's topic in General Discussion
I think you have to look further than only the secondary performance. The platform from Tirpitz, Bismarck and Massa are simply simply superior to those of IJN BBs. 32mm plating is vulnerable to HE spam, while the others are better protected against it. 32mm is also vulnerable against Yamasushi overmatch. Massa has 66% of its firepower facing forward. Bismarck and Tirpitz have only 50%, but their armor is still superior compared to IJN armor. While Amagi does have turtleback, its still not the same as german turtleback, and their gun layout supports kiting more than pushing (3 guns facing aftwards). Massa has fast DCP heal, Bismarck has hydro, Tirpitz has torps. Amagi has nothing, Kii has torps atleast. Also IJN BB shells tend to have bad dispersion the closer you get, so going close is generally a bad thing with them anyway. The overall package is just not the same. I think it makes more sense speccing a russian BB for secondaries, as their superior closerange dispersion actually would support that. Also their armor is similar to germans, except getting citadelled when showing broadside. Back when AP secondaries were a thing, Nagato was a scary Secondary ship btw... -
Decision making regarding CVs have nothing to do with balancing or common sense. The only goal is to push CVs EVERYWHERE and have a "healthy" amount of CV players. That is the succesful CV rework - nothing else matters. So using CVs as an arguement is simply useless, because WG will ignore it. Why dont you elaborate how randoms and Clanbattles are the same?
-
I think the majority simply does not care at all. They want to get the rewards, if they see a CV then they will just accept death and try again... There is a "certain" (dont want to speculate how big) part of the playerbase which is driven by rewards and not by enjoying the game, they are essentially working. And to make it easier, they often just suicide because that gives also rewards (like in ranked now)
-
I think like 5% of the ranked players is doing that.. (maybe more?) They just sail in a straight line and get blasted to death.
-
So its ok for Georgia/Musashi (or just BBs in general) but not for Alaska? Where is the difference? Why is there no clash who will play BB? (even more so, because half of the playerbase is a BB main these days..)

T9 CB season was announced on january 14th. As i showed before, there has never been a T9 season prior to this. So assuming that we ever get one was basicly gambling (i actually didnt expect it, but i guess WG wanted to give us a season without CVs). Georgia and Alaska got removed febuary 18th, so you basicly had 1 month to get them while knowing that there is a T9 CB season coming. However, assuming one knew that a T9 CB season is coming, chances are this person should have also known that there might potentialy be restrictions to ships, as they announced the same day they announced the T9 CB season (january 14th). Specifically about Georgia: Usually there is a 1 BB rule, for whatever reason this time its 2. What if 3 of your clan want to play Georgia? Ups, doesnt work. Also the 2 BB rule was not disclosed prior to Georgia being removed, so it might have also been that only 1 person can play Georgia to begin with. Is that fair also? Why dont you complain about that? Why are BBs limited in the first place? Apparently one is acceptable, and the other is not. Alaska is limited to 1, so 1 person can still play Alaska. Its not completely banned. It really makes no sense to complain, that suddenly you cant play a ship in CBs. If we look at all ships, 99% of them cant be played on a regular basis in CBs (i guess 80-90% could have never been played so far). The best chance had T10 ships, which could be played in 75% of the CB seasons in the past 4 years.

This weeks Bronze is much better than first Bronze Guess all the yoloers just made it to silver

Yep, in case of an emergency, would you casually close wows and shut down your PC, or would you just shut down your PC right away to be able to leave ASAP? (thats why the emergency [edited] is just that = [edited]) But i doubt too many people would terminate the game, let alone turn off their PC to get out of the game to start the next one. Too much trouble. But if you can just leave click? Thats too convenient... Or if someone leaves the game while being alive: 1h ban from ranked/randoms. Repeat offenders get longer bans. Simple as that.
