Aftvent SC hype: what did you get?
DFens_666 replied to __Helmut_Kohl__'s topic in General Discussion
Def AA-Fire Mod and 1k Doubloons... could have been worse i guess. -
U can check that at your profile: https://worldofwarships.eu/en/community/accounts/512538544-Excavatus/!/pvp/achieves/ For every detonation u get one achievement, u got 8.

What does it tell us? Totaly moronic game mechanic. But i guess @Forke is right. First salvo the 2 torps in the bow deal no damage (already saturated), one torp deals citadel damage, and the 2 in the stern are aleady too much, so its saturated while dealing some damage. Next salvo 2 Torps Bow and 2 Stern deal 0 damage, its already depleated.

Not rewarding BB tanking = BB sniping meta = Bad Game Design
DFens_666 replied to Enduro_Biker's topic in General Discussion
Have to agree with @Exocet6951 U could offer 365 days premium for tanking a certain amount of damage, the stupid BB player probably wouldnt notice it at all... The need to know anything or play above Potato-level doesnt really exist in this game. In the end u still win (not as often, but still), u get XP every game, u get Credits every game (where the game is actually lieing to u, since it says credits, but when u wont look at the last statpage u dont know if u lost or gained any), sometimes u get flags, and sometimes u dont even die (not that it matters, but bad players think it does, because "repair")... -
@eliastion and @Gnirf: Ofc this system does not work with only 19 pt cptn - should i have mentioned that? The 2 ideas i just put together, while skill levels were being the first one, which made me think, skill-trees might work after that. Yes i know, basicly no other offensiv skill (as id describe) exist in the first row. I was a bit hesitent to make it like that, but did because it was for illustration only. Basicly i wanted to show that i didnt mean u have to commit to one tree. It wasnt so much about if the above-skilltree is 100% correct, but to show how u can work around certain problems. No, the green line was supposed to show last stand -> TA /TAE (either which one u want) Above I dont consider it to be bad. Yep, was intended. But again, with more cptnskillpoints to spare, combined with each skill having 3 levels, it wouldnt "hurt" to put 3 points (rather than 12 total) into BFT Oh yes good point, i think my 1337 paintskills missed that one after i seperated Last stand because i wanted to properly show that last stand enables TA/TAE Ok, that i forgot. Not necessarily as i pointed out. If u have more points all together, it enables u to have a more balanced build across the board. Currently u can have either this or the other. With several levels per skill and more points in total, u can skill a bit of both to get some effect from both skills. I dont use valuable time for trolling... Wanted to say about the dumb player base in general: I dont think that players are necessarly more stupid that in other games. The problem is: in WoWs they get away with it. They dont need to think about anything really, because playing on the most basic level is possible, while knowing all the game mechanics is nigh impossible. Armor values for all ships (overmatch mechanic) torpedo distance for all ships etc... this gets more complicated for every new ship line thats released. Average joe doesnt care about those, but he doesnt even care about the most basic stuff anyway. Seen BBs flagging the Extra Flooding flag (not that it was a BB with torps...). Imo it already is. Just that u wont need the knowledge to play it on the most basic level. @KarmaQU_EU Sounds good, reminds me of synergy effects between skills like in Diablo

What if fighters are removed from all CVs?
DFens_666 replied to Quetak's topic in General Discussion
Depends very much on the situation. Just yesterday when i played Hosho, and i had only 1 fighter left, a PA-DD shot him down, also a Vampire shot one down before too So i left my TB there to spot the DD and spot TOrps so that my BB could a) kill him and didnt die to torps. Same match little later i searched the enemy langley, dropped him, stayed there to spot him for our Kolberg. When he was close enough to spot himself, i retreated. My other TB just managed to drop when he got killed. If i would have retreated earlier, i wouldhave gotten the kill myself. Still i dont wanna be a [edited] to my teammates because I want the kill... -
Nice to hear About the Skill-trees: I know that it seems like its making u take some skills which u wouldnt want - i should have made a whole tree as an example, but didnt have the time earlier since i was going to work. Imo its possible to make like cross-section skills which lets u hop to another skill-tree, or making some skills skill-tree independed as i mentioned CE f.e. since its basicly a skill which many ppl use regardless of ship. Made a whole skill-tree on how i think it might look like (hope its not too confusing, basicly u can jump around a bit f.e. DD skill u can go from last stand to TA/TAE). And to get a usefull skill, maybe its not too bad to invest in some less needed skills just to make it not too easy to actually get that skill? Also i think it might help some ppl to know what they actually should skill for their ship. Currently the Attack column captain skills are mainly for CVs/DDs.

Imo its not only camping which gets worse. Its overall cowardness. 1-3 Enemy Ships drive away half+ of your team denying the cap? While U are with 5 or less ships on your flank trying to hold back almost all of the enemy team? And after some minutes u go completely nuts when u see that the minority enemy force on the other side is closer to the cap than your team is... Or the moment u realize 3 BBs are coming your way while playing cruiser and u think oh crap, where can i hide, then u start to shoot them and they all run and hide?

RDF/RPF/RL - Lets talk about it once again?
DFens_666 replied to cro_pwr's topic in General Discussion
So i guess remove PT, IFA, Vigilance too, since it takes away skill and is dumbing down the playerbase. Actually i would favor that, if someone think its fine showing full broadside, get punished for it when he is too stupid to realize it, that someone WILL target him. -
What if fighters are removed from all CVs?
DFens_666 replied to Quetak's topic in General Discussion
I can understand the logic behind that, but i cant put in the right picture in the game. Is it just me having usually Potato CV players in the game? And im not talking about my team only. Thus the 2 examples from just this year. Rarely u see 2 CV players actually fighting hard for Air-superiority. Well there was one match where both CVs were strafing each other, so i think they were equally skilled. Forgot how it went after that ... But still im not really convinced... Maybe if a good CV plays vs a Unicum CV... But a Bad CV will screw himself over anyway, we all agree on that. When there are 2 Average CV players they will have equal damage results (if there would be no fighters around). 2 Unicum CV player against each other would ofc dominate both teams. So yeah, maybe a decent CV vs an Unicum CV might turn the tables for the Unicum CV if there are no Fighters around, since he can roam free faster. But for other matchups, i dont think it would have the effect u are describing. Or once again, this is my view thx to the CVs i have in my game... -
CO-OP = u play against Bots Random = u play against Humans (unless u have very few games, then u are in protected MM, then u might have some bots when there arent enough players around) Ship disappears = its out of detection range. Different ships have different concealment values. DDs have best concealment, then Cruisers and then BBs (usually that order, not always lately...) CVs are close to Cruiser concealment. If u buy a premium ship, it doesnt mean that u automatically win, nor does it mean that u are automatically good at the game. I guess u are talking about the Molotov (looked at your stats). Cruisers are very unforgiving to play when u show broadside. U have to constantly move around and dont show broadside to not get killed by a BB, which he can do in one salvo.

What if fighters are removed from all CVs?
DFens_666 replied to Quetak's topic in General Discussion
If there are 2 DDs in one battle, they might not even see each other for several minutes. CVs will see the planes at some point, when a ship detects them. And if u dont see planes, its safe to assume that the enemy CV is either afk, or is trying to strike u. If a Ship spots one DD, then the other DD might be on the other side of the map, so how can he lock him down? Yet when the planes are spotted, the CV can just fly over the map and intercept him. The better CV player might not need to shut him down entirely. A bad CV will do the rest by himself. Do u actually observe bad CV players in a match? Had a Ranger today striking me twice in my Neptune... ye thats smart. The 2nd time he couldnt even get through since there were more ships around at that time. Or just a couple of days ago a Shokaku (or might have been essex, i forgot the tier, but its either one of those) feeding his planes all the time into our division Missouri/Neptune... A better enemy CV player will only enhance the deplaning of the CV, which leads us back to the point: The higher the skill gap, the harder it is to learn anything in CVs. DDs who dont understand the basics at high tiers are luckily somewhat rare (ofc they do exist, Gunboat Shima anyone?). Still even the bad DD players can turn away when they are engaged, and they still can hit with their torps. Since Torps arent being shot down on their way to the target. And a ship getting hit by already spotted torps? Do and will always happen. At that guy above me: the salt is real i guess... Show me on a doll where my shells/torps did hurt u Feeling already getting stalked here. -
RDF/RPF/RL - Lets talk about it once again?
DFens_666 replied to cro_pwr's topic in General Discussion
I can understand when ppl complain about in in Ranked any CBs. But this only shows how wannabe "competetive" those game modes really are. U cant: - Choose your opponent - Choose maps - Choose the Tier - Allow/forbidPremium ships (which are ofc non-existent at T10) - Allow/forbid certain captain skills - Allow/forbid certain game mechanics (detonations) If u play other games, which are competetive, u can choose most game settings to get the desired environment. but back to the quote: Technically other captain skills are ruining the fun for others too. What about PT? Tells u how many ppl are aiming at u. IFA? Tells u someone did shoot u, better evade. Vigilance? ruins the fun for DDs, since its much easier to evade torps, and u dont even know that he has that skill. Which captain skills arent bad for others if we look at it like that? -

DFens_666 replied to Quetak's topic in General Discussion
So the better players DD guns will ALWAYS lock out the other enemy DD? How redicilous is that... I guess if u just get good enough u can shoot his torps... and deny him spotting... Cant even think how to respond to such nonsense arguement. And as i said before: Since when are Fighters dealing damage? -
What if fighters are removed from all CVs?
DFens_666 replied to Quetak's topic in General Discussion
Because u said the skill gap will widen, thats impossible with above statement. Lets think this through: If currently a Good CV plays vs a bad CV, then the Bad CV has to overcome Fighters AND AA of the ships. To which u explained, the bad CV will lose his planes in ANY circumstance. Good players will have an EASIER time dropping enemy ship - this cant be true when the bad CV is already losing all his planes to either Fighters or AA, which includes his fighters ofc. If one CV uses strafe, and the other wont, then the one not using strafe is at a huge disadvantage anyway and will most likely lose first his Fighters and then his Bombers. The barriers to overcome are - Fighters - Ship AA in that order. If there are no fighters, any CV has just to overcome Ship AA. The result would only be the same, if the bad CV could get a strike through if there would be fighters around or not. The good CV will get the strike to his desired target with or without fighters, the question is only: How fast can he do it. Can he do it a bit more faster without Fighters? most likely yes. Can the Bad CV however get strikes through more often? Definetely, since one barrier is obsolete. -

What if fighters are removed from all CVs?
DFens_666 replied to Quetak's topic in General Discussion
Ye basicly what happened to me. I was so pissed at that change, i stopped playing CV, because i was still at T5 of only US CVs back then... Took me several games in Indy to learn the manual drop again, still i was mad when playing it. Yep, thats what i was thinking too. Finaly no excuse for stinking BBaby going to the corner of the map crying for AA when he gets targeted by enemy CV. Skilling AA gets more viable. Optimal would be ofc when there would be more CVs (would be that the overall skill level would rise too maybe), like every game has a CV. Currently almost its like only Pro player or Potatoes play CV. -
RDF/RPF/RL - Lets talk about it once again?
DFens_666 replied to cro_pwr's topic in General Discussion
Well, cant talk about CB, since i didnt play that. But for Randoms i dont really care. Somtimes im RPF located, sometimes not. If i am located, i know that usually a DD is near. Just have to look at your teammates, and u know where the RPF must come from. I use it on Fiji and Takao tho. Takao can use that for torps (works awesome) and Fiji it helps when u want to support your DDs. Then u know whats gonna happen when u go for the cap. Or when u are in smoke and suddenly it points somewhere else. For Edin/Neptune i didnt use it, because of the more campy hightier meta, i dont think its that useful there. Also: Its funny when u realize a BB is having that skill Oh one more thing: Its not like RPF torping is 0 skill... -
What if fighters are removed from all CVs?
DFens_666 replied to Quetak's topic in General Discussion
Well, many players just left click on Bombers, Fighters... So without them they would atleast have time to understand prioritizing targets. Unfurtunately for the really bad players, sniping the enemy CV has already been established as the way to go. Imo best way: Give T4 Manual drop for TBs and DBs, but dont allow strafe. That way u can learn Manual Drop, without getting sealclubed by a Unicum CV. On T5 allow strafe too. OFc this would require mandatory tutorials for CV, but knowing WG... Also id only allow 1 CV in all matches, so this T5vsT6 CV madness would be gone for good. Since when are Fighters dealing damage The only thing which Fighters can do (which other planes cant) is rendereing the enemy CV useless. -
What if fighters are removed from all CVs?
DFens_666 replied to Quetak's topic in General Discussion
No, Fighters increase the difference in skill level only further. If u can never properly learn drops, because on lowtiers they remove the manual drop/strafe, then u get thrown at T6 where its damn hard to learn manual drops, even more so when u get sealclubbed by better CVs, and if u are lucky get crap like Saipan against u (if 4 CVs, or when u get to T7). When your Bombers get strafed by a better CV player constantly, there is nothing u can do about it. First u have to learn to outstrafe him, then u got to learn a proper manual drop... -

DFens_666 replied to Quetak's topic in General Discussion
I did a similiar topic about that some time ago -
Yep, works for every Radar ship Play Missouri, Moskva, Donskoi, DM (?, i think he cant)... Also spotted =! behind island. If u are spotted going for a cap usually u can be shot at too.
-
One game ranked is already enough for me... Was hotspot 4 BBs / 3 Cruiser. We capped A (i got single cap because my team was too slow LOL), and the enemy lemminged from B through the islands to A. Except one Takao who wanted to go to C, as did i. We spotted, he chickened away and run. I capped C.. thats where the problem started. Mogami followed me all the way 3~km behind me. Behind him a Bismarck. Our other 4 ships stayed in A. I capped C, went through middle, enemy Takao came back, took some shots at him (my teammates didnt hit ofc...) decided its not worth so i turned in and started shooting the lemmings between A/B. They roflstomped their way through, and 1 by 1 our BBs decided to go like pigs to the slaughter... achieving nothing... well not true. They blocked me torping the enemies, till i was finaly spotted and ofc the enemy BBS went like *OH crap TAKAO IS THERE; HE MUST HAVE TORPED *EVADE**... At that time we had ALL 3 CAPS! Our Hipper and Mogami still chasing the enemy Takao till nowhere, dieing to him at some point lol.... Last one standing, we had like 860 points but they took A... then B... then i died because it was over anyway. Told my BBs how stupid they were, answer was: Our other cruisers didnt help (excluded me thus)
-
Which is also money for WG? Bad players will use most of their FreeXP for other stuff... If u are bad and want to play higher tiers u have to buy a Premium ship or Premium camo - this cant be denied. The 3rd option is the worst which is converting Doubloons for Credits. Basicly what i said in my earlier post. So it all makes sense.
-
Still thats 20€... For something u wouldnt need to spend money on ever again. And ofc when u dont make money, buying T8/9 ships + modules has to be considered too.
