Less rewards for losing, especially when performing badly. Probably also less rewards for performing badly in a win, especially in hightiers. If you never leave spawn with your BB and shoot nothing but HE at other BBs, you should get poor rewards. Incidently, those Thunderers often get to be top 5 in their team by XP. Same for DDs which go CV hunting by humping the border. Dont spot, dont cap, dont fight other DDs = get [edited]all rewards. Here is an example for XP, which i cant explain, but i see quite often Roughly one month ago, a horrible game. Team sat in spawn, doing nothing. The Östergötland however, was a devstrike firstblood after 3-4 minutes (roughly, i dont rememer the exact time). He went into a cap, rushed further into several enemies and got >1k baseXP for just nothing. How the Neptune got 400 XP for doing the same stuff - this i dont understand. I remember one game from long ago, where 3 of our teammates suicided before the 5 minute mark. 1 was a Cruiser, 2 others BBs i believe. The Cruiser, and Ibuki, yoloed into a Cap, threw torps, didnt shoot, didnt hit anything - got 1k XP. One of the BBs also got like 800 XP, atleast he shot something. The 3rd BB probably didnt do anything either, got 400 XP. So there are huge discrepencies, i guess just touching a cap gives tons of XP

My intention was more going for the "if i make a situation up which doesnt favour a certain ship or class, i can make everyhing sound unbalanced". When people picture a situation, where 1 ship plays againt 2 ships, then its just [edited] from a balancing point of view. Noone starts a game, where he is a lone BB fighting 2 DDs.

Yes ofc, people who get 100k avg damage never hunt DDs And people with 20k avg damage are the real best players, because they are playing "the real way". Btw how is killing a DD every 5 games hunting DDs? Thats assuming you would kill a DD, and not a Cruiser or a BB. But for the sake of the arguement, lets assume its a DD. If 2 DDs manage to farm a BB and you feel helpess, then yes, thats completely fine. If the BB cant disengage from 2 DDs or kill them in time, then its just bad play on the BBs part. Dealing such amounts of damage with DDs using only guns takes A LOT of time AND a badly played BB. I guess your view on Cruiser play is this: Yolo into the enemy team, get spotted by the DD, dont have any way to actually spot DD (unless those that carry radar) then die to everything shooting the Cruiser to pieces. If your Cruisers dont suicide for your enjoyment, you probably blame them. If they die not killing the DD, you blame them aswell. Thats not how this game works AT ALL. I suppose either learn to play every class, or face the fact that this game is not for you, because it wont become what you want it to be. You are looking for a singleplayer game, where you are the BB, and your bot-teammates will suicide into the enemies to spot and kill smaller ships for you.

My games usually arent played with 1 BB vs 2 DDs. Why doesnt the BB have any teammates? All dead?

BBs and CVs already have more power than DDs and Cruisers, since they deal more damage than the other 2. And since its not only about damage, there is also influence on winning the game. CVs and DDs are topdogs there, while BBs and Cruisers have less influence. The tradeoff for dealing most damage is having less game influence. Which doesnt apply to CVs btw, but thats WG logic. DDs have high game influence but lower avg damage.

Well, no, but the problem is, if my weapons are only effective against half the ships i encounter, what do i do when those are gone? Or what do i do, when my BBs just sail perfect broadside to enemy BBs and just die? Then i can also exit to port because there is nothing left to do for me. And that sounds pretty bad to me. Then you might aswell just split the game in 2 parts: - BB games - Everything else If BBs fight other BBs (btw not what the OP suggested, he suggested BBs can just kill smaller ships without effort) and Cruisers/DDs fight each other, why should they be in the same game? Funny thing is, i bet you would find quite a lot of BB players who would love this, as they hate to fight everything else but BBs But i see a storm brewing on the horizon, and it brings thunder I think rock/paper/scissor makes a good game, sadly, the balance is already off at this point... And WG is moving more and more into the direction you describe and the OP is asking for. Look at IFHE as an example: Used to be mandatory, as it also helped in penetrating other Cruisers. Now Cruisers can pen each other without IFHE. At the same time, WG is releasing BBs with armor, that can withstand any HE, be it with or without IFHE. Russians, italians, alternative US BBs.... they have enough armor, that IFHE doesnt help at all or only very little. Ontop of that germans ofc... Even the japanese have deck armor which can shatter IFHE-HE these days (except Hizen and the ones below T9).

That some classes would simply be better than others? Lets say, WG would introduce merchant ships to wows, who just cant do any fighting on their own. They can something else instead. Would you want to play such a ship? There are always people behind the ships, and they want to have fun. Someone wants to have fun playing BB, others Cruiser or DD. If you make BBs just superior to everything else, and Cruisers and DDs are only their to provide target practice for BBs, while also fighting each other, where is the fun for those players? Since @Europizza beat me to it, but i was already typing, i still completed the text But basicly what he says

And because they have BIG GUNS. - WG is making the most money with BBs - Making BBs harder to play would reduce WGs income (might even kill the game if you alienate half your playerbase). - Current numbers are roughly 40-44% BBs 25-30% Cruiser 25-30% DDs 5% or so CVs (maybe less) So you see, making BBs less numerous or by that, less popular simply cant work. Back when they starting with WoWs, it was actually supposed to be called "World of Battleships", and thats basicly where we are right now. The average player cant perform with Cruisers and DDs anymore, becaues the skillfloor is so high nowadays, so they are left with playing BBs.

I wonder if we get blank containers at some point, just to troll the playerbase But ofc, those containers will have a 0,001% chance to drop a super rare premium, so its balanced

Im missing the "Buff BBs" several times, otherwise ok id say Maybe if lineups would consist of - 1BB - 4-5 Cruisers - 10-15 DDs Then we can talk about it. The reality is - 5 BBs / even 6 BBs lately EVERY GAME - 1-3 Cruisers - 3-4 DDs - 1 CV so... yeah. BBs are already over buffed and ruin this game. You can see what happens when BBs get everything: Its called Thunderer. Concealment like a Cruiser, maneuvrability better than some Cruisers, Guns like a BB, starts fires like no other ship in the game. Even BBs hate that ship

Did your secondaries fire on both sides? If so, then one side shot without accuracy bonus, which automatically lowers the hitrate. Also i dont think 83k secondary damage calls for additional buffs...

Telling the enemy team where your team/players are is actually against the rules, so there might be a chance that he gets some sort of ban out of it. I doubt that its a one of a time incident, usually people pull that crap all the time. And unless they get reported to support, noone will ever stop them. So in such a case, id always submit a ticket. Same as match rigging. -
Rather get Plymouth instead of FDR or Austin That being said, i wouldnt get a steelship without a coupon...

Just as a headsup: When you get to hightiers, and play totaly without concealment, you gonna have a really bad time... Properly played BBs should take damage the entire game, so they can make use of all heals. -

I wouldnt take IFHE either. What can you actually pen these days? - German BBs - basicly no gain, tip of Bow + stern (if you can hit that in the first place) - Russian BBs - Tip of the Bow + Stern - IJN - Hizen/Amagi yes, others... again Bow/stern and upper belt, if you can hit them. Might just land on the deck for shatters - US - Bow/stern - Italian - Bow/stern - French - everywhere, if you get to shoot them - UK - everywhere, even a bigger IF then the french ones... farming a Thunderer in spawn, when is that ever gonna happen? Conq and Lion have super heals... Forget something? Couple of PA-premiums which are Alsace/Izumo copies, so same applies to them. And not to mention, lots of T10 only battles, which makes IFHE even less useful, because you have a bit better chance to pen T8 BBs, but if they arent in the game in the first place, well, then its no luck. Im not even sure where i would even pick IFHE these days, maybe on T8 CLs... I think IFHE became totaly useless. Dont need it against Cruisers and WG releasing more and more BBs with armor that can withstand IFHE-HE, thus reducing the chance to get a BB which you can pen. And those that you can pen, will just camp in spawn because they have no armor AND no HP -
As i said in the beginning, they could just increase the HE Alpha. Id rather face a ship with more direct damage, than one that sets 2 fires every single time while sitting in his own spawn

They could ofc just buff direct HE damage, or make it more uniform. Like a bit higher damage for germans, which have absolutely abysmal HE damage. Also i personaly disagree, that any BB relies on setting fires. That really already shows the problem: If i dont get fires, im useless. No, thats not true. You need better positioning - thats true. But that also means, that you have to learn something. Contrary to sitting in the back with a Thunderer, and just farm HE/fire damage. If people dont want to learn to play with UK/French BBs, thats also fine. Just pick some other, we have enough variety by now for everyone. I hardly ever use/used HE with any of those. Only exceptions are KGV/Bourgogne, where i did use it a bit more often. And with KGV, i actually got sick of it half way through the grind. I started playing AP only, and only used HE against DDs (where i dont rely on fires either). QE: AP only Nelson: Mostly AP only. Lyon: Usually AP only, sometimes i shot HE, but the shotgun style dispersion meant its mostly useless against angled targets, so looking for a broadside was generally the better option. KGV: see above, first games i tried HE spammer - got sick of it and switched to AP Richelieu: Basicly AP only Monarch: Also almost AP only JB: Havent played it in a while, but usually AP Alsace: Occasionally shot HE, mostly against DDs tho. In general i was looking for targets where i could use AP. Bourgogne: A bit more HE, especially the last couple of games ive played. Which was due to the more camping style meta we had lately, where shooting broadsides was hardly possible. Id rather not have more SAP. WG showed once again, that they cant balance this ammo with italian BBs. Personaly i like the shortfuse-AP from UK BBs. Its so good against Cruisers. Yes, citadelling BBs is hard, but their pen is already pretty low, so even with normal AP they might struggle. And thanks to the shorter fuse, they get more pens. WG has the option to lower the armor threshold necessary to arm the shell, like they did with Stalingrad. I also like the smaller caliber french BBs, which often get more cits/pens on Cruisers compared to the 457mm BBs. They do lack overmatch, but they make up for it with more consistent damage on broadsides imo (except Richelieu - that was just a lottery between devstrike or overpens).
