so wargaming double standards?
DFens_666 replied to The_Flying_Scotsman's topic in General Discussion
Thats a different thing. Ofc this is not right. But since you are german, you know in eastern germany ppl still earn less and get less pension than in western germany, regardless of gender? But FORCING equality doesnt work. Like having Womens quota in Politics/manager positions. Its about qualification, not about fulfilling quota. If a women is more qualified, sure she should get the job. If not, then not. But i feel ppls judgement is clouded with that. Back to WOWs: How would it hurt WG to do the same thing for Mens day? Which proves my point of women having a special event, thus being MORE equal than Man. Saying its Mans day everyday is wrong - that would mean, there would be an event every day. Only because there are (i agree with that) places where man and women are treated differently, doesnt make it right to change the treatment in favor of women and call it equal -
I actually agreed with that, see here Basicly if you sit behind an island, not knowing that radar is active is ofc not a real threat. But it immediately bumps up 2 levels if you leave that island cover, because you didnt know it in the first place. With current mechanics, you have the info and can sit it out, while its still a danger, its less dangerous than actually being radared in the open. Id say that depends. CVs are limited to 1 on hightiers for a good reason, but that doesnt mean that 1 CV / game is a bad thing. I think we would have less problems with CVs, if there was a CV in EVERY game, because it makes speccing for AA more viable. When you dont get to see a CV in days, speccing for AA is mostly useless. If you then get wrecked one game, big deal, just move on. But thats a different story, just an example why limiting something does make sense.

Just a general like of thought: If he would have said, lets say, Hindenburg instead of Yamato, what would change? Thats actual a good point why LoS Radar would be a bad thing: If both DD and Cruiser are spotted, then who is most likely to gain an advantage from that? The BB sitting out of torp and radar range, being invisible at xxkm before the shot
-
When its not DDs, then its Cruisers or CVs. The first one is whine about HE spam, the other has both the traits of DDs/CAs delivering the load right onto the BB At this point, i dont think you can change BB player behaviour...

Thats just modern day stuff.. Women are just more equal than man -
This was part or your "some arguements doesnt make sense". If it happens, its a valid arguement - nothing more. Didnt want to imply that the opposite doesnt happen. Ive seen DDs complain getting open water radared in Missouris - does that make it valid aswell? Ofc not, since they were ballsy (spells stupid) enough to move inside its Radar range. Or DDs running into a Moskva f.e., smoking up and waiting to die. If you balance Radar around those players, you might aswell remove it, because they will always whine about it. Its BBabies all over again. Radar wasnt a problem most of the time. WHat changed? WG introducing Radar ships like from a conveyor belt. It felt like their way of fixing the complaint about uneven radar ships in a match (like one side having none, the other 3 or more). Since they said they dont want to balance amount of radars between teams, i guess they thought how about introducing more radar ships so its more likely that both sides get some And now we are here, WG tries to do some bandaid fix as always, probably causing more problems than before (also as always).

This is ofc true. Playing too much division, thats why i feel, when there is someone with you that can deal with DDs (atleast), then Musashi is a much better pick than Missouri.

Kinda hard to tell without a replay. But in general id say: - If you are on the strong flank, then you should push. If your team is NOT pushing (which does happen quite often) then you should try to take the iniciative if you have a proper ship. Otherwise you must get your team to do it. - If you are on the weak flank, try to hold on as long as possible. Kiting away is always better than dieing without a reason. Happens often enough that a team which has numerical advantage is not pushing. But if they are, dont wait too long to start kiting. In that example you gave, did it make any difference if the enemies capped your base anyway? Could you have prevented the enemies from doing that? That highly depends where you positioned yourself ofc. If the game is lost, no harm in farming damage is there?

The problem is when you can do this while most of the time shooting >20km Not that i want to blame myself, but what can i do when the enemy is running to the border? The closest shot was 13km at a DD... then i had a 26k salvo on a musashi at 25km, and 2 salvos vs other BBs at >18km also dealing >20k damage + a fully aft on seattle at >20km also 12k damage. 4 salvos all long range and did insane damage. Hitrate was 33%, while i even missed 2 completely + the DD only took 1 hit.

Still its like having an extra T10 BB and the enemies could have only a regular T9 ship. Comparing a Musashi with a FDG is like night and day imo. Not only are the guns super strong, it also has the HP pool to go along with. Exposed citadel is only a problem if the player cant handle it.

I see DDs behind Islands in caps all the time. Ive even seen DDs camp at random islands because reason? If you are being radared from behind an island, id say most of the time you sit in a cap aswell. But many caps do have island cover aswell, so there could be even 2 islands between DD and Radar Cruiser. But ive seen the arguements i used happen in gameplay, watching YT or Flamu/Flambass on Twitch. So they do make sense. Ive radared ships aswell behind islands who were able to stop in time because they got radared. Lucky WG is disagreeing with you I dont always agree with WG, but thank god they didnt go with that. However i dont like the current proposed change too much either.

Kronhas has very derpy guns, wouldnt call them accurate. If you are too close to Cruisers, you will overpen a lot also becaue the shells are so fast with flat arcs.

Yup also havent gotten one in days. Might it have ended already? -
Yes, i feel Musashi is much more OP than Missouri is. I just played a match where enemies ignored caps and went border humping, so i had to shoot >20km most of the time. I did almost 90k damage with 26 hits, this thing citadels everything at all ranges. including another Musashi at 25km... My Missouri division mate had like 1/3 of my damage, because Missouri doesnt have the penetration of the 460mm guns. Missouris strength is Radar vs DDs, which tends to be risky business. If you play division with Musashi and you have something which can deal with DDs, or your team has better DDs, than you can just farm the enemies. But good posistioning is also key for Musashi/Yamato

Please do something about tier 8 matchmaking
DFens_666 replied to Erik_Aukan's topic in General Discussion
Im with @El2aZeR on this one. F.e. T8 vs T10 BB both bow on they bounce each other (unless its a Yamato). But put a T6 BB vs a T8 BB, then the T8 BB overmatches the Bow of the T6 BB while T6 BB cant do that to the T8 BB. Also for DDs the concealment is much worse on T7 compared to T8 because of the Concealment module. Same could be said for some Cruisers like Hipper/Baltimore with their 27mm bow armor. They can tank all BBs up to 386mm caliber, which are ofc more present in T6-T8 than T9-T10.- 40 replies

We play Dynamo with 4 guys if we want to grind FreeXP. (or have fun ^^) But this is with Prem Acc + 400% Camo + all special flags
-
For me its just the other way around. I can farm 30k FreeXP in one game in Dynamo, which is 4% of one Musashi. No way i can get so much Coal, because its limited to missions. Also you have so many options in the arsenal, much more than with FreeXP.

So, can we get a company battle like game mode now?
DFens_666 replied to Colonel_Boom's topic in General Discussion
So what would be the goal by "cheating" the system? Lets say i could speed grind my way through the tiers by playing with 23 other guys, and one on each time farms the enemies. So we have 2 guys profiting from that, while 22 others sit idle by doing nothing. If you let everyone have his turn farming, then you have 1 battle out of 12 where you get XP, but 11 out of 12 doing nothing. Does it help? not really. So basicly you dont gain much by this. But lets say you can get to T10 by "not playing" the game then what? You suck big time there. Not much difference to what it is right now with potatos dieing their way up to T10... They play T10 and will always suck. If there would be a small amount of ppl trying to gain an advantage -> let them imo. -
I understand what you mean. But as i said, i havent had much problems with fires lately. The problem with fires is, the more HE spam there is, the worse it gets. RN BBs started this mess, as they made other BBs shoot HE aswell. French BBs seem to shoot HE more often aswell. Then you have ofc Harugumo and Worcester with insane RoF.

DFens_666 replied to Colonel_Boom's topic in General Discussion
Seeing how WOWs is heavily focused on grinding, this doesnt really help at all. Otherwise i would be doing it Occasionally you can have fun doing that (some Twitch CCs do that), but its not something which would make sense in a long run, since i would still need to play randoms in order to grind lines and get missions done. Also what i dislike about CBs, is that its limited to your own clan. -
Im questioning the achievement in that Everyone gets to T10 eventually... unless you are AFK every battle and earn 0 XP. Other than that, even minimal XP gain would get you to T10 at some point. The only reason to smoke up a BB is, when he is close to die and smart enough to NOT shoot till he gets a heal. Smoking up healthy BBs is bad. They should be shooting (which pretty much makes them visible even inside the smoke), and they should attract enemy fire aswell, so that DDs/Cruisers have an easier time. Ofc you cant influence that because the enemy can choose whom he wants to shoot, but if a BB is invisble, then he doesnt even have to make a choise. It is, isnt it? The team which plays well together usually wins. Sure we could debate if there should be MORE teamplay, but WG is moving away from that by making especially BBs more selfrelient (super AA, hydro against torps, no citadels and so forth)
-
Thats why i would go for a T7 ship (like Scharnhorst) now You have often the same MM as your Texas, but you should need to make a bigger impact, because you are more often hightier. Occasionally you will get T8-T9 MM, and see how that goes. (then its like being lowtier in Texas). However if you go to T9, you basicly have to contribute - a lot more - to win. I think you will do better and have more fun playing T7, than (probably) doing not so well in T9, because it is much different than midtier. F.e a slightly above "average" Missouri game for me. Thats with Gamescom camo (+50%) and Zulu Flag (+20%). Making boat loads of credits is not guaranteed - even for better players. If you see someone made 1+ million credits, he probably has premium acc, a good camo and both Credit flags AND a good game on top of that.
-
Must play a different game then... Ive played GK most recently - you know, huge and clumsy, burns like a christmas tree - basicly without anti-fire skills/modules... Havent had much problems with fires, worst offender was a DM behind an island trying to reverse out of my reach. Didnt help him tho, i got him at some point
-
Then you need to pick a ship which is "easy" to play for you. F.e. you seem to do good damage in your Texas, even tho you havent played that many battles with it. Compare that to Tirpitz, so maybe you should rather go with a T7 ship like some others suggested. T7 ships have more often better MM compared to T8. If you are consistent at T7, its still better than hoping for a good hightier match.

WG, for the next events, can we PLEASE return to a situation where not everything is time-gated and drip-fed with ridiculously short intervals?
DFens_666 replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Agreed, been thinking the same aswell. There is just too much going on right now.
