    I find this to be very true. Lately (as WG was so nice to hand out Kutuzovs ) ive been playing Shchors/Kutuzov, some days both consecutively. They are damage farmers. The influence they can have is not that great alone. Chapa with Radar can deal with DDs by himself, while the Kutuzov has to rely on someone else to help it. You can fight DDs easier because of the smoke, but at the same time it opens you up for - getting torped - getting spotting in smoke - getting shot at in your smoke by BBs. Also i agree with @bloodynicknames , sitting in smoke is really bad these days. Makes you much more vulnerable than open water full speed wiggling gun boating. Some games i didnt even have to use all my smokes - which is only 3.

    I think this explanation is rather... questionable? If only Experienced/Veteran clan players will get the most out of the event, its pretty safe to assume that they have the majority (if not all except Bourgogne) Steel ships in port already. Since the variety of steel ships is extremely limited, giving the most seasoned players even more steel doesnt really make sense. I rather think, WG is trying to force / push players who are not so active to play more ranked/CBs. Basicly if you start from scratch, gathering steel is rather uninspiring, especially with a hyped ship like Stalingrad around which requires several R1/full CB seasons to acquire. But if are already half way there by playing casual Randoms/Coop, the chances are higher that those players will try to get the remaining steel they need through Ranked and Clanbattles, as the amount of Steel which can be gathered now is only enough for Flint/Black (which brings us back to the Stalingrad). Players like myself who havent played CBs before (first season for me) and also Ranked, which required to get to R1 before to have a chance to get the ships, wasnt that interesting to me. Luckily you can get atleast a little bit steel by playing Ranked even if you dont get to R1. This means, ill be faced with the problem i described: - I gathered a little bit steel in the last Ranked season - Got 1 Steel SC - Playing CBs for the first time, which will give me a maximum of 11k steel (which is pretty much not guaranteed now, because of short season + xmas in between + i lose 2 days/week to work most of the time) - Getting the 4k Steel from the event if i have time to complete it all - ~2k Steel from Snowflakes So ill get close to 20k +-couple of k depending on the CB season. Its just enough to maybe get Stalin/Bourgogne with a coupon, OR i would need to continue grinding next ranked season till i have enough. Other players who dont play CBs and/or ranked, will have to invest more time into either of those if they suddenly sit there with ~5-10k Steel after the event.

    Ill mark you once i record it from the replay Literally DD was not moving close to the capborder -> at some point it stopped capping.

    But compared to targets moving at an angle towards you, i feel reversing targets are just different. Even more so when you concider that reversing is mostly ~10 kts and if they steam full ahead its more like 30 kts. ANd i forgot one other thing (will have to record that still): Not moving in a cap, DD drifting sidewards out of the cap!

    Auto aim correction? Thats for beaching atleast. The game thinks, the target is moving in that direction still, and wants to "help" you by adjusting your aim -> shooting into the island. Also i have the same problems hitting stationary targets: Most of the time the shells fall just short (why? i dont know) And if i start aiming higher, then the shells go too far. Reversing targets are even weirder, as you generally have to aim very high.

    1. It certainly would make sense, but i feel it would make the game less fun overall - pretty much everyone is beaching at some point. Ive beached several times because WG cant properly show the boundaries of the islands, so you just get stuck despite in looking like you should pass. Also what happens if you manage to maneuver in those nice bays where you hardly ever get out? Initial beaching -> flooding = DCP -> Reverse because no option -> flooding again. Looking at all that: I wouldnt like to see something like that in game. 2. Because TASM exists, it wouldnt be right. We would end up with 3/4,5/6! km detection because of that. Just yesterday i had an enemy mino running TASM I dont think we need to punish BBs even more by making them camp in the spawn, because only ppl who push would get screwed by that. Sometimes the most useless players get to be top (or atleast close) XP earners in the team. Looking at maxrange HE spamming BBs First we would need to make sure, that the people who play for the win get more XP than the others. But since damage is rewarded the most, it already gets screwed by that.

    5-7 secs for DDs is way too low. It would be too annoying for others to turn the turrets only looking at a DD disappearing. What you gonna do then? Stare off contest with a DD? While doing nothing? Thats wrong. 20 Sec is just too low for BBs - thats the problem. I think we should maybe go with 15 for DDs 20 for Cruisers as it is 30 for BBs and be done with it. Most BBs will be spotted, unless those who got >30 sec reload and are not running AR. Both other classes have to sacrifice damage in order to "check" if they will be unspotted (well mainly Cruisers tho). BBs get that automatically in between shots. If they are hardspotted after 20 secs, they even know that something is approaching. The worst BB offender is actually Republique with his 20 sec reload. Just yesterday in CBs i was shooting one with Hindi, and due to my 10 sec reload, my shooting interval matched his perfectly. So every 2nd time i tried to shoot him, he disapperead, while i was looking at the muzzle flash of his guns. Thx to the bug, i had to target him manually after that

    Guess its fine then? Some days you simply are "unlucky" in getting citadels. Other days it works like a charm.

    1. Yes totaly OP... those are the worst Midway players sorted by WR 2. CVs will get changed upon update 0.8.0 - which is end of january (they will most likely be even worse after that - bad players will get worse, while good players will stomp harder) 3. Apart from that all: Yes, AP Bombs are crap and shouldnt be in the game like that. 4. Even then you can still try to outplay the CV - Today had an enemy 75% WR Kaga in the enemy team, and he was useless for the entire game, even when he killed me in the end. But that didnt matter anymore at that time.

    Stalingrad atleast sits still most of the time. YOu can even blindfire if he is undetected. Its much harder to hit a Zao at longeange which is kiting away, wiggling, speeding up and slowing down. And the best part, if he is weak, he just goes stealth. Pushing up means usually getting crossfired

    I think we have seen 3x Zao 2x Stalin several times by now - the most horrible setup to face imo (or replace a zao with Henri). Ye, thats the problem. Well, i mean, if there would be THE setup, then everyone would run it ofc But i kinda feel the same way about Hindenburg... Ofc its rather tanky, but it simply lacks a very important aspect: The AP is too crap against Stalins to punish them at any reasonable range. Tried it at ~10km almost flat broadside -> shatters. Stalins are much more predictable imo. They pretty much sit in the same space every game. And their reload is slow, so their HE is crap. Shooting maxrange at a Stalin in a Hindi he has no chance but to move away from his position pretty much. If he keeps shooting, he will be spotted aswell! A Zao, once he has completed his turn, is just not reasonably punishable. If you push into them, you play by their rules. Yes, we had enemy Zaos we caught before that, and they died to 2 shots, but most of the time, you spot them, they are already angled away, even if they are slow, they will still bounce the shells. Thats probably the best part about running multi Zaos -> you cant get screwed by spawns. Its pretty much guaranteed to work in both ways. While if i play Hindi f.e. and i get the wrong spawn, it takes me quite long to move over to where i have to be, Zao is there much earlier. And if you are NOT running double DD, and the enemy has several Zaos, you are simply screwed. If you are getting spotted, as i said earlier, you have to turn right away. And you will still eat massive damage from them. If you push them, they can stay dark as long as you make a mistake, that means getting into crossfire to angle against any other ship.

    You know what i hate 10 times more than Stalingrads in CB? Stinking 2-3 Zaos. Stalingrad is actually quite easy to work against imo. I can farm it like no business in Hindenburg. But put a Zao on the flank? Its like Butt*ex that never ends. - You push a tiny bit too far and have to turn around? GL being permaspotted (compared to Stalin which everyone can outspot) - At that moment you can push further, which will make you get punished by crossfire - doesnt have to be a Stalin tho. In the end it will only make life even harder if you dont turn immediately. - Either way you will receive probably like >10k HE damage. GL if its shooting AP, then can be probably be like 20k. - If you push, he will throw its nice 12km torps at you Summarize that: - Very good Concealment, only beaten by Mino and DDs. (ONLY ever can be punished if you can surprise the Zao) - Troll armor which makes above point invalid most of the time. - 12km torps - Railguns with super dispersion - Super hard hitting HE and AP forgot something? Maybe "Concealment dictates engagement" very true... thats why i hate Zao.
