Last game looked the same, when we played 3x T8 div and it was in a 4xT8 + 8xT10 matchup. Sadly forgot to take a screenshot of that. Last 5 out of 7 games were just crap where i couldnt do anything Enemies just wouldnt let me as they simply didnt want to play... -

I dont think there is any question that a Hindi will beat a Stalin 1v1 basicly all the time with the right tactic. Spot it -> Turn and kite. If he disengages to heal up -> rince and repeat. He wont deal enough damage with AP, and if he uses HE then you simply can outDPM him. But then again, they dont really need a Stalin for that dont they? Thats one point i actually agree with Super Unicum clans who field Stalingrads in their lineup: They will beat most other clans more often anyway even if there were no Stalingrads around... -

Kinda interesting theory. You would need to think, if you would face yourself in the other class - what would the outcome be? Problem here being, you could perfectly react to what you would do You can beat better players in any ship, especially when they dont consider you to be good enough to beat them. Ive gone 1v1 once in my Hindi vs a Montana, forgot the player but his clantag was superunicum I only could kill him because he let me. If he would have known, maybe he would have turned away so i never could have gotten him. Thats kinda the thing with those scenarios, but ill give my view on what you said: BB vs DD 1v1: The BB can get a stalemate at best. He will never beat an equal skilled DD player. If we consider other winning options than killing each other, then the DD will always win, as he can simply outcap the enemy BB. Even a 1v1 with killing each other, the DD should probably win. Only salvation for the BB could be RPF to not catch random torps. Because even if you are evading, you can get torped by a good DD player. BB vs CA 1v1: Depends heavily on which ships you take. Some Cruiser will beat some BBs imo. Conqueror will f.e. kill most Cruisers which he can outspot, there is no chance to escape damage that close. If you can outspot the BB, you can have a chance by kiting away. How to put this: No, you dont know what AP shells can do to enemy Cruisers and BBs when you play a BB. Shooting the right targets at the right time with AP is key to success. You have to know where to hit the target if you want to deal massive damage with AP. HE will almost never get the same result. HE = mostly useless damage farming which doesnt win the game AP = devastating in the right moments, thus winning the game. Shooting HE on Destroyers however is the right choice of ammo since the change - so you are atleast right with something. Against Cruisers however is basicly crap 99% of the time (there are some exceptions). There are probably more occasions to shoot HE at a BB than at a Cruiser. -

I think its kinda hard to reward tanking, as you cant actively tank. Tanking happens passively, as you need the enemy to shoot you. If you spot an enemy in your DD, then it already happened - nothing else needs to be done (well your team needs to shoot that target ofc). As long as DD/Cruiser dont present themselves to get shot at, enemies will most likely shoot at the BB. But you cant prevent your team from being stupid. They think they can open water gunboat because a BB is near, which is totaly wrong. A properly tanking BB is something most players DONT want to shoot at, since you basicly get nothing out of it. If you bounce 2-3 salvos from enemy BBs, they often stop to shoot you. Same with Cruisers when you manage to evade the salvo, but average joe rather stays full broadside and gets deleted. Ive been flamed at playing BB because i wasnt "tanking" because a DD thought he can just start to gunboat sitting in the open.- 61 replies

5 HE hits to a DD -> close to 9k damage as i recall 1. If you shoot HE at a Cruiser you are almost guaranteed doing it wrong 2. Thats RNG. Also fires dont hurt DDs/Cruisers as much, the sheer HE alpha damage hurts them much more (good against DDs, still bad against Cruisers compared to AP) In real life, Battleship almost hits nothing. This isnt a 1v1. If that happens often, you are doing it wrong. Either you are too aggressiv = rushing a DD, then you deserve it anyway Or you are last one around alive, then you let your team down and deserve it aswell On a sidenote i agree: Rushing a BB with a DD became too easy after the AP change. It went from one extreme to the other, middleground would be better. -

Couldnt agree more. I cant sit still in my Musashi - how could i endure the bow tanking with a Stalingrad NOT falling asleep ? (probably wont get enough Steel anyway - but thats beside the point) The only reason to get Stalin is so you can atleast take one into CWs - many CW players have one anyway. I dont need it for Randoms as i see Bourgogne being more fun (or Azuma even) -
How did you get that many planes with such a garbage AA? Just tell us how many goats you sacrificed for RNGesus! With 4 guys only you would have probably gotten like 3,2k BaseXP

Had the funniest Coop game EVER. Was playing Hiryu with Gneisenau Div (for plane kills PEF directive). Map was 2 Brothers. I was like, ah [edited]it, ill just rush forward to the island, while i did that, killed a Nürnberg on the side. But then i realized, actually 4 bots were pushing down the middle, and our team was like just waiting for them to go through. Was too late for me, i suddenly had a Nicholas infront, so my secondaries dealt with him. Had to continue now into the channel, evading torps from the Omaha, so i bombed + torped him. Gneisenau torped me, i took 2, sadly couldnt deal with him otherwise, so i continued for the Dunkerque behind him. Dropped Torpbombers on him, then went for the Ram Only problem was, i didnt kill him with the Ram, but since i got a permaflood, he died to that. Note to self, next time take Ramming flag. Bonus note: My team was having a blast and cheering for. @ForlornSailor can provide a screen of me going into the channel -
You can also hard carry and still get reported for that Even got called being a Bot once whily carrying the team to a victory

Trial and error does work ofc aswell. In general i feel Leander can be quite trollish sometimes.

There are 2 things preventing getting penetrations: - You need a certain amount of armor to fuse the shell, general rule is caliber/6 (only exception i know seems to be Stalingrad and short-fuse AP from RN ships). So Dunkerque guns have 330mm / 6 = 55mm of armor to fuse. Pretty much no Cruiser has that kinda armor except at the Citadel (this ofc changes when the armor is at an angle). La Gal has something like 16mm everywhere. So if its flat broadside, your shell simply doesnt fuse, or if it does after penetrating multiple layers of armor, then comes this - Shells detonate only 0,33 seconds (most of them, some have lower values) after they fuse. So if the ship is small enough - or if you are too close, the shell wont detonate in time to give you a penetration. Basicly either the shell doesnt fuse at all, or it detonates too late, both resulting in overpenetrations. RN sAP rarely ever overpenetrates. Can happen on DD superstructure f.e. Im not sure about Perth armor layout - is it the same as Leander? You have to hit really close to the water, from the smoke stacks backwards, but not till the rear turret. If you dont hit the citadel right away, pretty much the sAP and or armor can prevent citadel hits. Directly under the smoke stack, Leander citadel deck is 6mm, which you can overmatch, but your shell might detonate too early. After the smoke stacks, the citadel deck is 32mm so it bounces off.

We had a CV in a game not too long ago, who said he did awesome because he had 4 kills Meanwhile he shot down 4! planes, and never spotted anything with his fighters. Afterwards i came to think, that both CVs had a "truce" and they just kept farming the rest of the team, as the enemy CV didnt shoot down many planes either. But atleast he was spotting for his team. Still the point being, our CV farmed damage and kills thus thinking he did great. Reality he sucked balls, and i think he got reported 4-6 times of it because many did complain. (3 fighters sitting ontop of each other like 10-15km from the closest enemy ) And you also see those back line (HE) sniping BBs who survive till the end will full HP being on the top half of the XP table. You could argue that the game tells them they did good, while infact they are part why the team lost. WG doesnt teach them how to play properly, and gives the wrong incentive (damage farming) while at the same time rewarding them with more XP than teamplayers. This is wrong on every level.- 61 replies

We did a test 1v1 some time ago, me Hindi vs a Stalingrad... I spotted the Stalin, casually turned around, started kiting and dakka-dakka. Didnt go too well for him, i think he lost ~32k HP while i lost like 4-5k However you cant rush him when he starts kiting - i tried that aswell (to learn something) and then he could actually beat me despite being angled. I might have tried to use my backturrets but i wasnt sure if i can protect my citadel enough. Would have worked tho, and then you can beat him. But kiting away always beats a Stalin. Zao has good accuracy, so i think he can win aswell + throwing torps his way. HIV will win also. DM im not too sure if the DPM is enough to withstand a Stalin tho... If Stalin kills your turrets you are toast. Salem will have a better chance i think -
Also depends what ship you are shooting, French Cruiser are very trollish on low-midtiers (emile, La gal) you basicly always overpen them. Other things which can happen: Aimed too high, or you are simply too close and overpen the citadel.

Most of the time i like HE spamming them in my Hindi They just sit at islands, and even when they arent detected you can still farm em Couldnt answer the poll as its my first season - but i dont have a problem in general with Stalin. -

Not the way its probably gonna be if they keep it as on PTS. Long time it was like this - Shoot when noone spots you -> Gunbloom drops within 1-2 secs back to normal - If someone sees you shooting, gunbloom stays at maximum for 20 secs, even if you break LoS Since couple of months, it was like this: - Shoot when noone spots you -> Gunbloom drops within 1-2 secs back to normal (same as earlier) - If someone sees you shooting, gunbloom stays at maximum for 20 secs IF you are spotted for the entire time. When you break LoS (island f.e.) gunbloom reverts to normal (different than before) Now how its on PTS: - If someone sees you shooting, gunbloom stays at maximum for 20 secs, even if you break LoS (same as 1.) - Shoot when noone spots you -> gunbloom stays at max for 20 secs (!) severe change, as it basicly means you can shoot from behind an island and you are constantly detecteable from maxrange. -

Obviously the recent change to gunbloom was a bug (i.e. noone is spotting you, gunbloom resets after 3 sec) now they will not only revert back to what it was, but rather gunbloom will stay at max for 20 secs even if noone ever spotted you - so i heard atleast. Its on PTS right now. -

Joined: September 8th 2016 Spent: A grand total of 0,89€ - guess you know what that was Games: 5729 that would be ~40 days. As it looks, ill definetely take a break for a couple of months - no way im playing this s**tfest of a patch. If it stays crap i guess i wont come back Was fun while it lasted... atleast occasionally -

There is a reason why the LUs in the 6th slot seem to be better in general... suprise because it doesnt compete with Concealment mod but rather with reload/range.
