Read again - this is the player with the highest average damage in Kitakaze (which is tracked + has the amount of battles to show up in the list on wowsnumbers) Clearly, other type of ships CANT reproduce what Hakuryu could before the hotfix. That there are fewer CV players makes the matter even worse. If DDs are played by so many people, there is also a better chance to have someone who has very high average damage. Also, if you were good with RTS CVs doesnt mean you are good with the new CVs. Its a totaly different thing. Some RTS CV players might have been good ONLY because it was RTS style. WIth the new mechanic, other people (who dont like RTS) will become good in them.

The problem is, it cant work what you want to achieve. JB has 32mm bow armor. Standard 203mm HE shells (like Buffalo f.e.) can penetrate 33mm of armor. 152mm HE shells (like Seattle) can penetrate 24mm of armor. With IFHE it goes up to 33mm aswell. So if you would buff the Armor above 32mm, not only would it negate lowcaliber IFHE, but also 203mm Cruiser HE. And it doesnt stop there: You would also be immune to Musashi/Yamato overmatch, because the 32mm is just the threshold they can overmatch. To stop BB HE from working, you would need to be a fortress... Conqueror HE can penetrate 104mm or armor with the smaller guns, if you would take the bigger ones, they could penetrate 113mm of armor!

No, its not normal for a DD to have that kinda average damage... Highest average damage with Kitakaze is 126k... After couple of days, highest average damage with Hakuruyu was 250.000!!! atleast one who managed to play 80 games it. The sample size is big enough. There is no player and no ship who managed a 200k average before the CV rework. Well, ok there was one Midway player who got 201k average damage. AFter the rework, we had 2 right away, and a couple just below 200k. How can anyone think that this was balanced?

edit: Now the forum is trolling me
-
Well, ofc i want the game to be properly balanced for every class (which probably doesnt really work out 100%). The problem i see is, that both sides are extremely touchy with every nerf/buff happening right now. They simply ignore, that balancing is not finished yet. And i for one would like to have CVs rather UP right now than OP. I think its better to buff them to the desired level, than nerf them. That Hakuryu desaster basicly is the reason for that. F-key is a different story, i guess they didnt think (guess they rarely do that ) that it could be abused. Hakuryu nerf and F-key were 2 really important issues that had to be dealt with asap. WG just overdid it and nerfed all others at the same time. But why is it, that people feel entitled to be play CVs right away? Whether they were balanced or not was disregarded, and so the nerf was heavily frowned upon. Yes, it probably sucks right now to play CVs, especially the lower ones. I just played Haku and Midway for the steel, and then sold them for the FreeXP. Kept the T4s, and researched and rebought the T6s right away. When the balancing is more or less finished, ill probably even play them. Tried Ryujo in Aegis today just to see how it goes. I usually liked playing CVs in the Operations (not all tho). I think it was ok balance wise, but the team was kinda meh, so i will continue to test them there. Also the weird thing for me is, that there were many players whining about the nerf, who seemed to mostly been playing Hakuryu. Its like, they were oblivious to the possibility of it being nerfed/balanced. One could go so far and say, that they ignored that any balancing could happen And id like to add, that i also tried to bring constructive stuff to this whole CV stuff But when people are whining so much, i dont really feel like responding in a meaningful way. They just say "CVs got nerfed, well done whiners". Tell WG instead why those other CVs DIDNT need a nerf, because the most attention was on Hakuryu. To sum it up: + Haku nerf was needed + F-key abuse needed to be stopped - They overdid the nerf to planes returning to the CV. If planes drop their bombs, they dont need to stay 10 secs in AA. Simply fix right there imo. - They nerfed lowertier CVs too much, seems like T4 CVs were kinda questionable to begin with. And imo what needs to be done: - Some kinda balancing when CV is lowtier or hightier, like my proposal or something else. - Make planes less vulnerable after the drop - Proper balancing with the AA values - this is probably tough nut to crack. Havent played much, and cant tell how BBs are AA wise. Only got a CV when i played Worcester - and it wasnt too weak atleast Id be perfectly fine with BBs being more vulnerable to CVs across the board. But Cruisers shouldnt be as vulnerable, and some Cruisers were always strong in the AA departement and i think it should stay that way. Dropping an AA specced Mino/DM should hurt the CV if he think its a good idea. Pick another target instead.

No, it was clear that Haku was in need of a fix right away. They cant justify to piss of the majority of the playerbase too long, so some statpadders can f*p on their Haku stats
-
Whats this ominous gamemode you are talking about, where one Mino is facing one CV Also, playing AA platform is so much fun! Why didnt WG think about it, make ships without turrets, only AA guns. Must be heaven, just sit there, tab out and do nothing...
-
I would have no problem with testing stuff... but WGs stupid implementation of PTS keeps me from doing it. Downloading 20+GB for the same game, and then i need 60 GB free space to unpack it... Wanted to try it, WG told me i need 20 GB free space, i had 50GB, didnt work so i deleted it again.
-
Then why dont you adapt now You played one game after the hotfix, and came here to whine. Much logic right there. And clearly you deserved your 150k avg damage with T10 CVs Nothing wrong with that With one point i agree however: planes shouldnt stay in AA bubble after they have dropped.
-
Will CVs have more fun if a fleet of 11 ships is moving in one blob because they feel violated by the on CV player And in case you havent noticed: Many non-CV players werent happy about certain aspects of the new CVs *cough* Hakuryu *cough*. And they make for a bigger amount of players than the ones who want to play CVs...so im not sure how the CV players will enjoy the game when they dont have anyone else left to kill CVs cant be easy mode and OP at the same time. It will attract more people to play CVs, but alienate the others which are here to play DD/CA/BB. If they leave the game, are you gonna play 3vs3 CV matches because CVs are OP-EZ-mode? And for balancing purposes its actually much better to have some heavy AA ships and some weaker ships. If the weak AA ships are moving off on their own, you can kill them - thats exactly what you are supposed to do as a CV. A DD can kill Radar Cruisers with torps yes. But in general a DD is not supposed to fight those ships in the first place. You have teammates for that. The same teammates which are supposed to kill that Minotaur to weaken the AA defense of the enemy team.

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
DFens_666 replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
I agree, Azuma looks kinda meh, atleast when flamu played it. Huge size, no armor, big citadel and low HP. I think it would need an HP buff. Kronshtadt has much more HP with the same armor but citadel is better protected. Even the Dispersion seemed totaly questionable. Yesterday he tried to punish a broadside moskva at midrange. He couldnt kill it because the salvos ranged from 0-2 citas + 1 bad aimed salvo. Every BB would have killed that moskva much faster. -
Game is currently a mess. What about premium time ?
DFens_666 replied to anonym_FDOLXpxOfXXq's topic in General Discussion
I think what WG should have done when they released the CVs: . - Freeze Premium time / give everybody 1 month for free - Hide stat tracking = obvious reasons statpadding and balancing was not properly done. Basicly no games would have been shown in your profile during balancing period. - To have an incentive to play (statpadder might not play when stats arent recorded...) make missions + rewards. F.e. play xx games per week. Play xx games with BB/CA/DD/CV. Different rewards (Coal/Steel?/Prem acc/freeXP/Doubloons?/Signals and Camos) The more you play = the better rewards you get. I think it would have been win-win for everyone - the more games are played, the more data WG can collect for balancing - People wouldnt be envious, that others could pad their stats with new CVs (like Haku was before the hotfix)- 51 replies

CVs about to get nerfed to the ground (yay, rejoice all CV haters)
DFens_666 replied to valrond's topic in General Discussion
Simply because Harkuryu was broken af? Any person who cares about the game and not about their statpadding would have accnowledged that -
Standardized planes and quasi-restricted matchmaking for CV's
DFens_666 replied to Ubertron_X's topic in General Discussion
Just yesterday, i had an idea about making the DPS from ships dependant on which tier planes they are targeting i.e.: Minotaur vs Hakuryu has 100% DPS Minotaur vs Shokaku would only have 80% DPS (dependant on the difference in base HP from Shokaku to Hakuryu planes) And on the other hand, a Dallas fighting a Shokaku would get 120% DPS. I marked MrConway, and he said he liked the idea and he will forward it. I dont think your idea would be bad either, but it still kinda makes a difference between who is fighting you (T6-T8 MM with T7 planes is still harder for T6 ships as compared to T8 ships). But either way would be better than current implementation, just wanted to throw it out here -
got a fix for all your problems
DFens_666 replied to anonym_IGePq7CLQk5w's topic in General Discussion
Well, since you are only playing DDs (but i still assume you have another account), you seem to ignore how the other ships would be like with your proposed changes. Play Radar cruisers, experience how "OP" they are. In either case, it will teach you how to be a better DD player. Im not saying that wows is perfect, and some changes could be made to make it more enjoyable. But straight up buffing DDs AND nerfing Cruisers heavily is not the way to go. -
Its obvious what they want: - Strike any target at will. If its supposed to be an AA ship - doesnt matter. One big blob of ships - doesnt matter - To have 100% WR, or as close as it can be - As much damage as possible: the higher, the better (best would probably kill the entire enemy fleet on their own) Literally nothing should be able to stop their free reign of farming. No, im not hating CVs. Im hating players who obviously only care about having an OP "thing" and have 0 interested in any balancing of the game. Blame WG for that? And personaly i cant even say if thats true or not. Just yesterday my first Worcester game, and i kinda was spotting for my team. I had only 44k damage, with almost 110k spotting, 2 kills and 6 plane kills. I was first in XP (1576). https://wows-numbers.com/de/player/540423429,DFens_666/ There is proof. 2601 XP is with the 65% premium account bonus obviously. I didnt even have a cap point, but 16k damage on DDs. Winning is the ultimate goal in a PvP game. Spotting is extremely important in WoWs. But people feel entitled to dealing as much damage as they want, which often makes them lose (so they gain less XP than with a win)

1. This isnt reallife 1.1. This would most likely turn the game into an utter campfest, we dont need that 2. Radar would be totaly useless. With the aforementioned proposal, DDs would be the sole king of the game. The side with bad DD players would have literally no counterplay available after they die. 3. Making CVs spotters online is boring to play - noone would play them. 4. THIS ISNT REALLIFE. In case that got lost somewhere around the lines To the last part: You are using reallife based arguements for places where it suits you. Since you are obviously a re-roll account, playing DD only, you are cherry picking the stuff which suits your DD fantasies. You want to torp everything without them having any clue that you are around. I mean, we could just give your DDs no torpreload, maybe then it would be balanced -
"Concealment Expert" (CE) captain skill in post v0.8.x world for BBs - YES or NO?
DFens_666 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Seems pretty much only viable for monty tho, because he is using the legendary module aswell, which is reducing the fire/flood duration. Maybe its a bit overkill with MAA aswell, so he might go for CE but drop the Concealment mod for the legendary one. Its too early to really say imo. Other BBs dont have that kinda legendary module, so its questionable if its viable for them. -
CVs about to get nerfed to the ground (yay, rejoice all CV haters)
DFens_666 replied to valrond's topic in General Discussion
But you have to consider, that there were possibly 2 or even 3 CVs at times in one game/side! This can influence the spotting for individual CVs ofc. While before, a GZ was always alone. -

CVs about to get nerfed to the ground (yay, rejoice all CV haters)
DFens_666 replied to valrond's topic in General Discussion
The best indicator is ofc looking at someone, who has played enough games with old CVs. If someone like him is breaking his own max spotting damage just a couple of games/days into the rework, i think it atleast shows an indication that there is more spotting going on that before. The problem with spotting is also, that sometimes your team doesnt cash in on it (either they dont shoot at all, or they miss). But we shouldnt see higher spotting damages so early into the rework because of a reason like that. -
Here we see once again a special one, who thinks he is entitled to rape everything in its path despite counterplay. If one AA blob isnt a viable counterplay against a CV, then you might aswell call it world of CVs, and let all other ships be commanded by bots. Make it a 1vs20 and just slaughter everything...
