I just think they ignored it. Since its T9-T10 only, and its still doable with T10 (since you get to T10 anyway after T8), maybe they just didnt bother. If it should be doable with T8 - not sure about that.

Maybe FDG works better now after the buffs. But i wouldnt play it on secondaries. Certainly not in this meta. When i got GK, i had basicly full secondaries. Then i moved away from it by getting CE, because Concealment was just crap. Now with the free captain reskill i went full tankmode. Ditched all secondary stuff and went FP/BoS. Played 2 games today, could totaly ignore fires, got like 3 million potential in both, and even got a secondary kill on a DD. So imo, if you wanna go for it, go for tank build and it might even work out.

I think it was S_O saying, that currently they are pretty close to what they want them to be. That was after the hotfix. So clearly its better now than before.

Please give tips on how to be effective in Shokaku when uptiered.
DFens_666 replied to Warderer's topic in General Discussion
Same thing is shells going through the ship and not getting registered. Before they removed Dynamo, it was kinda frequent to observe there. I think it was because of the speed from the Schnellboote. Usually i had better chance hitting them when my shells landed behind them, rather than in the first 1/3 of the Ship. There is definetely some desync around, might aswell happen to the planes -
Any tips on how to play tier 8 DD:s in the perm spotted meta
DFens_666 replied to Ronchabale's topic in General Discussion
For me it feels like: - Dont play DD unless it has somewhat good AA - Try to play with Divisions - Dont play Cruisers unless Minotaur or Worcester aka something with good AA. Lowtier Cruiser vs hightier CV sucks aswell. - BBs can most of the time ignore the spotting disadvantage because they can hang back further and dont evaporate if they are spotted. CVs wont target you when you are not first in line either. Maybe play ranked if you wanna play DD- 98 replies

Ofc they had to make her a bit weaker than Yamato, but the strongpoints still remain: Guns and HP pool. Also id say the biggest weakness compared to Yamato is the accuracy above all others. And then its still not worse than other T9 BBs. If you bring a Musashi into battle, and the enemies get an Iowa instead, its just much more valuable than the other.

Tbh T6 Ship with T6+T8 CV is equally crap... Especially when you have some kinda mong CVs who are too stupid to spot anything, and need 10 mins together to kill one Bayern humping at the mapborder Meanwhile both enemy CVs just kept raping us even tho we had several ships in the vicinity. Ofc they kept dropping Fighters ontop of us so that our AA gets diverted Really not balanced if you are -2 for anyone i guess. But should i be wondering? Felt like that with RTS CVs aswell.

Winning is not worth anything, gotcha

So by that logic, why do DDs deal lowest damage of all? I think DDs are played ~25%, so they should be topdamage dealers, but they arent...

Possibility to surrender to end match quicker
DFens_666 replied to Beastofwar's topic in General Discussion
And who is supposed to accept that surrender? The ships alive? Why would they, they are running away/hiding as it is. In case they are not hiding, it would lower your XP gain - i wouldnt do such a thing. Dead players cant accept surrender, as they would lower the XP gain from the ships alive (or they might have left the battle already). So all in all, not a good idea. I wouldnt like it. -
Yes, for accumulating BaseXP it wont help But it does help when you have to accumulate XP in general with modifiers counting.
-
But Premium account already is a modifier, thus it doesnt count for base XP.
-
But when you apply a modifier, its not BASE XP now is it?

Huh?! Old RTS CV mechanic was only about RNG. If you shot down planes before, wasnt decided by anything else than the calculation between DPS <-> plane HP and an RNG roll. New CV players have to manually avoid your flak bursts, so they dont die instantly. So in the end, against a skilled CV player, it mostly matters how much continous DPS your ship has. Against bad CV players, it mostly matters how many flakbursts your ship can pump out And i fail to see, how previous AA made you participate more against planes? Ctrl+Click once in a while wasnt too exciting either imo.
-
But they can spot, what a BB cant do. And spotting is also area denial... kinda So i think that similiar average damage would be fine imo.

5th part is BaseXP. Thats the XP in the teamscore screen. Edit: Ninja'ed by @Aragathor

Uhm... no? They literally open threads "T6 CVs are unplayable *whine*" And you check there stats, and the same day they performed very well in the games they played. So its everything but unplayable, even if its only for them. If they would be under the impression, that they are the exception, they would voice their opinion like El2azer does... Also, El2azer said, he doesnt like IJN CVs that much because they are more limited towards striking capital surface ships, and he doesnt like that, thus his ability to influence the game is worse than with US CVs. If you want to have an impact in the game, play Midway is the obvious conclusion. I dont think he said, the other CVs are unplayable, ill tag him if i understood it correctly, @El2aZeR ? So if your team sucks (and the enemies doesnt), what gives you the right to demand you want to influence the game into a win? WG said they want to lower the impact CVs have on the game. You literally tell them "well done WG, mission accomplished"... If you want to have a high influence on the game, play 3x division. I suppose it works very well with a CV also. 1. I have played CVs. 2. No, your planes are safe after 10 secs when they return to the CV. And i already stated several times, that planes that are returning to the CV after bombing dont need to be vulnerable for so long. But if you press F, then they should be vulnerable. 3. You can press F when your planes are not attacked by AA pretty safely See, you are already going way ahead of what you are supposed to do. You want to strike a target which brings you directly into other ships AA bubbles. Ever though that you shouldnt do it that way? Either dont strike, or plan your attackrun from a different angle which doesnt lead into the AA from several ships. Thats what several people have already said (including myself) before the rework went live. If CVs arent easy-mode (OP), they are unfun to play to the majority of the playerbase. Basicly the opposite what WG wants to achieve (have more CV players in the game). You could ofc really lower the damage output, and weaken the AA in return, so that you can strike with impunity, but the strike will result in chipdamage, not sure if that is more fun tho ... I think, how the F-return is working now is how WG intended it. Not sure if nerfing the return of planes after the drop was intentional or they are just too lazy to differentiate between them.

In that case, arent the new CV players the ones to "git gud" aka learn the new class? Nothing comes close to the new gameplay of CVs, so naturally it would take time to get the hang of it. Maybe you should consider that some people are just whining too much? And everyone has their own opinion on what is "unplayable". Ive seen guys playing a couple of games, pink damage (60-80k T6 CVs i believe) and good WR on wowsnumbers saying its unplayable. How does that make any sense? You cant take those people serious. And if people can get really good results (155k T8 CV in T10 match is really good), then it certainly opens up the possibility of being a l2p issue.
-
The reload booster is which causes the issues. You can cash in much more than other BBs in case you get a broadside target (or a DD). Musashi is just... T10 ship on T9
-
Yup, with RTS CVs that was totaly different... oh no it wasnt Except for the T4 CV part. And i guess i missed the memo where CVs are always lowtier -2 Clearly a T8 CV vs T6 ships is fine, and they should rape everything in their path. Get real The problem is, balancing something like that isnt easy. But there a couple of ideas out there now, and i think if WG would go with either of them, balancing between tiers is not a problem anymore. Hmm, how about no? Cossack/kidd wont devstrike any BB. And how bad do you need to be to take 8 torps from a Kagero? DDs have lowest average damage, clearly they dont hit that many torpedoes... This wont take ages to do so... The BB could either rush you or run away. This could happen to RTS CVs aswell, you know? Probably not, because pre-rework, everyone was united in their hate against [edited]. If moving in one blob is not a counter against CVs, THEN WHAT IS!!!!??? Thats why, CVs cant be too strong, otherwise we will see blob-meta. And WG wont even make them so strong as before, thats certainly clear. Im just gonna tag @El2aZeR for that, if you dont want to believe me

But why would you play DD?! If the DDs role has changed, they are like bad Cruisers essentially. They lack gunpower and/or torpedorange to be usefull sitting in the back. 1. You can do that only with backup. Could even take a RN CL for that, and sit in the smoke with superior AA. 2. ? 3. WUT? Flanking has literally been killed by the CV rework. You go alone to a flank, CV will slaughter you unless you are a Cruiser with good AA. And in that case, BBs will blast you to hell, since they tend to be squishy (Mino/DM f.e.) 4. How you wanna do that with ~10km torprange? Talking about midtiers its more like 8km or less. You have to be so close that no support can follow you without being surface spotted by the enemy ships. So in order to counter BBs, you would leave AA from your teammates. And we are back to square one. Thats because the CV player might have been a moron essentially!!! Fly Hakuryu planes into w/e lowtier ships Flakbursts and they will receive damage aswell. Also, plane kills is not 0 or 1 like before. You could kill 35 planes with 35 damage to them.... Midway planes have like 2k~ HP? I dont think you had 70k plane damage. And if it was the case -> CV was a moron. Amount of planekills says very little these days. There was whining about non-CV players that should adapt to the new CVs. That makes no sense really. It was a totaly new game basicly, if anything, the CV players needed to adapt to playing them. If someone is flying into flakbursts, that would be comparable to a Cruiser showing flat broadside to all enemies. Should the Cruiser also not get punished? Remove the Citadel and tell BBs to adapt? Hell no...

CA AP on CL - overpens through citadel or not?
DFens_666 replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
Personaly id hope they would make some changes to IFHE (i mean, they are planning something, but what? who knows...). As a NO i guess it depends in what kinda MM you are. When toptier, your AP can overmatch T5 DDs and Cruisers (and Leander). And the AP does hurt BBs aswell. When lowtier.... yeah, but thats not exlusive to CAs^^ Then you shouldnt overpen them as much anyway. -
Its all nice and fine what you are saying, but you are ignoring that CVs have another big advantage which influences the game: Spotting. Quite frankly, anyone who disagrees with spotting being THE most important factor in the game is a noob (thats why many DD players suck...) CVs which can spot at will and deal large amounts of damage are simply OP. Basicly that would be an enhanced DD version: DDs are good spotters, but dont deal that much damage in return. But the influence they have on the battle is still huge. If you give both to CVs again, they will be OP, and WG doesnt want to have high impact class like RTS CVs. So unless they nerf the spotting from CVs, which is quite obvious they wont imo, they will scale the damage down. In the end, its actually the problem which some people have said before the rework went live: - The gameplay itself is rather dull and repetetive. If CVs can deal tons of damage, they are more fun to play and more attractive to the playerbase. - However, WG wants to have CVs with less impact on the game, so they should deal less damage and be more picky about their targets. This leads to CVs being undesirable however, as the joy comes from dealing damage. - WG wanted to make CVs more desirable to play, so that more players are playing CVs. If its unfun, they wont do it How to solve it? Quite hard I believe tho, WG will push through with CVs being not so good damage dealers, because the spotting is still prevelant (will take time for WG to realize that i guess...)
-
1.Hard to say as it comes down to the skill of the CV attacking you. Almost all DDs, who are alone will struggle vs CVs. If you have backup, it should be easier to handle CV planes. 2. Dont think anyone can answer that... 3. Yes, its definetely good/strong DD.

Except that it isnt. I love this theory nonsense: Its repairable - it doesnt do anything Except when im dead, i cant heal anymore. Would a ship be balanced that spews out fires and floodings with 100% chance while dealing 0 alpha damage? Its only fire and flooding damage, totaly repairable, so just git gud?! The fact that, floodings are much more lethal than fires can be seen with average kills. Conqueror has high damage but low average kills. His damage does not reflect in killing ships (f.e. you have 0.73 avg kills with Conqueror) Flooding is entirely different, alteast until it gets reworked. You have 1.25 avg kills with Hakuryu, so not only can you deal lots of damage, but also kill your targets. And your average kills isnt even that high, there are many who have >2 avg kills in Hakuryu. While the highest average kills with Conqueror is 1.74...
