I think the problem is bigger than it looks at first glance (also part of the problem why we see so many bad players) Their goal is to get to T10, so they grind as fast as possible. Play -> die and dont care about winning or not. Just do it as fast as possible. Meanwhile, they dont learn anything, because they think, when they get to T10, they will be awesome with it. Reality is different, yet they dont even accnowledge that, as you can see often in the forums. Making it worse, is that those people dont accnowledge that anything is their fault, they just keep blaming the team. So in a nutshell: - People can advance too fast to T10, even when playing badly - They dont learn anything, or dont have to play for the team (but still shift the blame towards the team) - Should XP gain by tied to victories, so that people finaly would stop to play for themselves? And maybe increase the XP for a win at the same time, to make it a less harsh. I know many people wouldnt like that, but its the only thing i can come up with, that would people force to learn and make it more of a teamgame. Everything else can stay as it is ofc, like credits and i think even Captain XP. (not sure about FreeXP tho... maybe?). Basicly this would means, you still dont lose credits even if you lose, you can still get your captain to a higher level, but you cant advance in the techtree. Good players will advance faster (they dont need to learn so much anyway, as they are already better), while bad players would still advance, but not so fast anymore. And hopefully they would start to think on how to get better, and ofc they would spend more time in general at midtiers, where they would automatically learn more and not rush through the tiers.

Being toptier +2 is the only chance that bad players can get anything done. Why you think, that they get better whey they only face sametier ships? They will get even worse compared to good players... As for you doing well on T10... sadly, thats not true. Just today (in 4 games) ive face 2 enemy divisions consisting of T6 CV + 2 Sims T6 CV + Myoko and Akatsuki I think its really questionable to allow this. Both times they were toptier too. And no, they didnt win, but still i think its not right. WG needs to stop fail divisions @MrConway - any chance that this gets changed any time? Or whats the reason to be able to "faildiv" with +/-1 tier? (apart from "playing with your friends who dont have same tier ships", because thats not a good reason for an abusive mechanic imo)

What a shitty day really... getting butt by MM lately (atleast feels like it) 1. Game Gadjah with CV (ofc) which had 2 Sims in a division Couldnt hit one torp ofc, because after the DDs were dealt with, the BBs started running towards the corner. 2. Game Z-39, this time no CV, but full T9 MM with 2x Missouri, very good Donskoi and Kronshtadt. Luckily, i only had to deal with the Donskoi, Jutland and Fiji 3. game switched to Cruiser, that was kinda good in the end, but T9 MM with Myoko on Tears of the Cruiser 4. game still Cruiser, getting harassed by CV right from the start. I basicly died because our Nicholas was... special Was just AA fortress i guess Atleast all games were wins, thats good And got a SC today with 50x restless fire camos.... that sucked -
At the same time, they would need to restrict CV division to one tier, otherwise you can use CVs as anchors. Ofc it would be good in general to disallow fail divisions, not only for CVs... And i have to do it: Funny how fast your opinion changed really Typical WG fail afterall... or they lied as usual (or not as i know from MrConway how WG interprets skill gap )

I felt dropping AFT makes more sense in order to get CE. But so far, the experience has been "meh" anyway, because of all the camping going on.

Poll: How should WG handle overperforming premium ships?

I took last option, because it kinda depends on the ship in question: Something like Belfast shouldnt be put into T8, which might for work other ships. Belfast is an Edinburgh, but without Torps and insane heal, so a 35k HP Edinburgh without heal on T8 vs T10 is... questionable at best. Belfast should lose its Concealment Module and i think it would be good to go. Perfomance wise you wouldnt even lose too much, but atleast DDs could spot it easier. On the other hand, cant even say if Belfast is that OP anymore these days (imo same goes for Kutuzov... new ships powercreeped them and they arent as strong as they once were). Overall i think nerfing it and keep its on its tier is better than putting it on another tier, but a König Albert might be put into T4 because its a Kaiser anyway... Maybe think of another gimmick to make it different from the Kaiser and it would be good imo. -
I didnt play the CVs in PTS (when you had to sign up to play them, as i wasnt interested) and i dont really want to play CVs until WG is finished with balancing. Dont feel like a Guinea Pig But they are fun in Operations, and some bots evade better than some humans And its a good way to get the timing right after all.

Are they all different from one another too? As for the OP in general: Same ship IRL doesnt mean same ship in game. Even if they use the same model, they dont have to be the same ship. Like Prinz Eugen and Hipper, first one has heal while the other has not. At the same time, we have ships that were same IRL (Scharnhorst and Gneisenau) but WG made the Gneisenau like it was planned after a rework, which was never finished tho. Gneisenau like we see in the game never existed IRL. For me, same ships are only the ones which have a B version. They are EXACTLY the same as the "normal" premium version of it. Not even the ARP ships are the same as the silver Kongo/Myoko, as i can use any captain i want, BUT they dont have a camo... (which sucks)

Just wanted to point out, that ive been playing CVs - but in Operations only so far. As i wanted to learn drops first, i played Ranger and Ryujo. Didnt take that long, and i got pretty much same results as with RTS CVs Way easier to learn the drops, and you have a wide range of targets available (easy T4 BBs/Cruisers up to T7 Cruisers with DefAA and 4-5 on one blob)

You know which ship has highest average kills with reasonable amount of games for me? Old filthy if you know what i mean (14 games 2,21 average kills). After that its the sealclubber version Orion I tend to have fairly good average killrate in BBs tho... think its just the high alpha which gets more kills. Cruiser sometimes lack the ability to kill something if the target is really saturated -

I had my doubts first aswell, but it wasnt bad today. Was actually quite fun too (MUCH better than playing randoms with double CV ) You can believe that We didnt really have that much issues today (and we faced a couple of good clans aswell) We played 9 games (7/2). I personaly was heavily against CVs, but i didnt feel bothered by the CVs at any time. I even think, time of Stalingrads has passed. They sit there, they are spotted by everything, your CV can drop them while they sit there... And then there is only one BB anyway. Other ships are MUCH stronger than Stalingrad now. -
I think you can change that in the options... atleast i got told by my clanmates.

We faced 2 clans without CV today... no chance for them really. 2nd game was a bit closer, but overall you win by sheer spotting advantage. -
1. Well, finaly something to work with... You started with the whole damage thing, so ofc people quoting you will also talk about damage. Since you referred to "numbers" in your first answer to me, thats being dishonest (since you are so into etiquette stuff) 2. + 4. Unlike a conversation, i can re-read everything that has been said before. 3. well, yes, but doesnt make it much better because --> 4. You base your arguements on how old RTS CVs are (they dont have to do anything with new CVs) and you are still using made up numbers in the comparision. You had 100k max damage in new CVs - agreed. You havent had 150k damage at any time with old CVs. Not once, and certainly not all day long (as you claimed in the initial post). Then you use the made up number to compare it with the actual number from new CVs and basicly say that new CVs are worse. This doesnt make any sense at all. And then there is still the problem, that old and new CVs have nothing in common except the name. Someone who was good with RTS CVs, is not necessarily good with the new once (and vice versa). And FYI: I do play CVs, and even people who dont play CVs are allowed to have an opinion about them, since they are still facing the CVs aswell in other ships. You cant just look at it from the CV pov and say they are OP or UP. CVs have 2 things going for them: Applying direct damage to any place on the map, and spot enemy ships. If CVs could only do the first, but not spot, then we could balance CVs around dealing damage. However, CVs are spotting for their team. That removes the interaction between CV <-> enemy ship, and adds in the whole enemy team to the table. The ship which is being attacked, does have to focus not only on what the CV is doing, but also has to keep an eye open if he gets shot at by multiple other ships. This is more of an issue for DDs and Cruisers, than its for BBs. 5. Im not claiming you made up numbers - you actually did make up numbers. Thats your highest CV damage ever. So 150k is a made up number.

well 1. You were talking about damage yourself. So i know what you were talking about. I just didnt feel like hoping on your made up numbers. Your highest damage before rework was 119k with Ryujo, so you didnt do 150k matches all day long. Thats why i started to wonder if you are actually talking about damage, since you suddenly started showing a bunch of screenshots with like 9k damage aswell. 2. uh so? Am i not allowed to talk to you? 3. Did read your posts, didnt feel like answering yet. But its at a point, where its totaly confusing what you are trying to say. Being "down" to 100k, when you didnt have 150k max before for example. You have the same average damage in Ryujo now, than you had with Hiryu before the rework. And its even a tier lower! So id say, you deal more damage than before. 4. Didnt know that understanding damage (or numbers even) is only enabled after playing a certain class 5. So you have 100k max... didnt deny that. But i start to question where your 150k RTS CV games are coming from... Thats the whole point: You cant say, you are dealing less damage than before, if you make up the numbers you had with RTS CVs.

How to not die in the first 5 minutes as battleship ?

If you die that fast in a BB, then you definetely overextended. I always wonder about BBs dieing very early into the game - normaly that shouldnt happen. The most crucial skill to learn when playing BBs is, WHEN to push in / use your HP pool. Basicly you are looking for the middle ground between camping in the back, and rushing too far ahead. You should post a replay, then we can tell you why your move might have been wrong or too early. I have no problem dieing in a BB when it helps my team a lot by winning, but dieing uselessly is something you should always avoid. -

Instead of arguing for more options to kill DDs (as a CV) people should rather try to enfore more teamplay. Ofc with the way WG is going we are seeing less and less, precisely because every direction is whining (x dies to y, y dies to z, z dies to x and so forth). So Wg makes every class more self reliant, making people even dumber, which leads to more whine. so we are in a downward spiral. I help my CVs EVERY TIME if i can when they get attacked by a DD. Sadly, im not the norm, i see myself as being odd doing that. All of this comes down to: average people dont play for the win, they play for themselves. Ofc this could get changed the hard way, but WG will never go this route... Which is sad, because i think we would have a better game that way with less whining.

THe problem is, autopilot is not limited to CVs. Sure, we can agree, driving around with auto pilot in other ships is mostly retarded, but you can still use it. Autopilot was always kinda bugged. I remember the first time when my CV kept circling in the halloween Operation. Autopilot is far from perfect, you basicly agreed its bugged. Why say its fine if you have to do specific stuff in order to make it work? WG should look into this, and not get told "well its kinda fine if you know what to do"

Blap with GK - sometimes you get these spicy salvos with it Imo whats wrong with the rework: Was a weird game, as the enemy team just ignored me completely, for the entire game, until i was alone with my CV. Then CVs started to try to tickle me to death, was really close and annoying at the same time (1000:960 or so) And i shot down 5 planes (where are the 50 plane kill Musashis? Must be noob CVs that collect Flak clouds.... (almost got a 3rd cap aswell, but with points ticking and CVs resetting me permanently, couldnt work) but the point is: Rather sooner than later, that CVs would have just killed me, and i couldnt have dont ANYTHING about it, as i couldnt catch up to them, and i couldnt shoot down ANY planes And noone could help me. Which would have turned into a CV vs CV battle at some point. 2nd Musashi game trying to be damage sponge I got shot at by: - Moskva 17km - Kii 20km - Bismarck 18km - Monty 19km While being followed by the Black division. They didnt shoot me however (rarely), they were shooting the others kiting away with me, yet my team STILL managed to die, like how? AND i got constantly torped by the shima (32 torps spotted) More tanking in a Worchester Team was horrible... out of first 4 to die, 3 were our BBs ( Conq, NC and JB) Like how you do it? I rushed around the corner and killed the JB with AP broadside at <5 km (26k damage with AP) Then i got caught by the enemy team which just rolled through the map -

Never seen anything like that, and ive played my fair share of Aegis^^ Normaly, the Amagi BB-wave spawns instead of the normal 3 IF the team is not fast enough to kill the convoy guards. Maybe something went wrong there, and you just got all BBs spawning in there, definetely a bug. Post that in the Bug report section with replay.
