What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
DFens_666 replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Skill influences the chance of you winning a game, doesnt mean you can win every game... Or do you always lose when you perform poorly aswell No, so there you have it. -
While true, the majority (aka the not so good players) dont see it the same way, they think the good players only try to "balance" the game even more in their favour Last time I experienced this stuff in another game, good players said that a certain change would be bad for the game, and it would strengthen good players even more (talking about a FPS here). Bad players went raging how good players were trying to defend it because the skill gap would be smaller afterwards -> result was, good players became even more unstoppable ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thousands of hits received from battleships - none of them AP
DFens_666 replied to Admiral_H_Nelson's topic in General Discussion
I think i wrote i the wrong way: Didnt they always used to shoot HE against DDs? Even before BB AP got nerfed. -

I think they always used HE tho? On the other hand, im not sure if they cheat with reloading, i think this would be really hard to prove. Because with Cruisers, they tend to use HE always, unless the target is already burning, then they use AP. Atleast it feels like, if you let the fire burn for a moment and then use DCP, they will switch back to HE and it will take longer for them to shoot again. But its only a gut feeling, i have never attempted to prove that. Should be rather easy tho, try something with a mediocre reload like Hindi/Zao, when you get a fire, wait a bit till they would shoot again and see how long it takes till they actually shoot again. (unless the insta Expert Loader is only for BB Bots ) -
Get rid of the others first - Musashi will collapse too. Especially if you can kill the enemy DD first, and you get your own DD to torp the Musashi (which would force it to move). And ofc you have many noobs playing the Musashi, they will make their team lose anyway by sniping from maxrange. But i kinda see it the same way: Its basicly a Yamato on T9, its much more OP than Missouri for me. But Missouri gets more hate because it has Radar. And looking at Musashi they think "oh it has a Citadel, it will die easily" - nope. If you can protect the weakspots, you can farm at will.

89 rockets (and a bomb) to destroy a single DD....
DFens_666 replied to Beastofwar's topic in General Discussion
I think the Rockets get too potent the higher you go, thats why they nerfed them. T6 Rockets probably didnt need a nerf in the first place (not too sure tho)? But id say, looking at the DDs in Operation is maybe the wrong way, because they are T2-4 most of the time, so they are much smaller than the higher tier DDs. T8 CV rockets can smack same tier DDs really hard already. And thats the issue. WG scaled it wrong, when you can deal proportionally more damage on T10 to one DD compared to T6. Ranger has 2*6 rockets per strike and 3 strikes total for 1900 max damage per rocket = 68400 theoretical max damage per squad Lexis Tiny Tims are 3*2*3 for 5400 damage per rocket = 97200 theoretical max damage. Midways Tiny Tims are 3*3*3 for 5400 damage per rocket = 145800 theoretical max damage. Then you look at DD health, f.e. Gaede has 16500, and Z-52 has 20300... being bigger too, which makes them easier to hit. And ofc air detectability is worse aswell = easier to line up the drop. DD health rises very little, while damage output rises by >40% to T8, and 113% to T10. Im not sure how well those tiny tims hit DDs (perfect drop lets assume), but even if a Ranger hits 2 rockets, and you would hit only one Tiny Tim, it would deal more % damage to the Gaede than to the Z-52... -
Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"

Oh i can make fake data which shows what would happen if we would limit CVs to 1 per side - But its not real WTF? seriously WTF??? I think this would only make sense, if majority of games would have 2CVs in it (which i doubt). Ofc which would happen is, that most games would have CVs in it (wasnt that what they were going for anyway?). But since there are games without CV too, i cant take him seriously. Yesterday played 5x T7 games - 1 had 1 CV /side in it. And 3x T5 games with one game having double CV /side, the others no CV... I really dont think they are telling the truth. Talking about prime time too, evening that is. Even more so, when lowtiers have more CVs in it compared to Hightiers, which they admit themselves -
89 rockets (and a bomb) to destroy a single DD....
DFens_666 replied to Beastofwar's topic in General Discussion
If WG would have changed spotting, f.e. CVs can spot for teammates, if they are close enough, lets say 8km, instead of nerfing the air spotting detection across the board, it would have caused less issues (which we have now) but instead would have actually fixed something. Im perfectly fine with going close with my DD to a cap. With RTS CVs, this was possible, as they usually wouldnt just fly into the enemy spawn. Now tho, halfway through in open water, the CV spots me, and BBs can open up from 20km. Due to the low concealment of DDs now, rockets are mostly useless, but good players can still hit DDs with them. The same good players could aswell go for DBs tho, and punish the DD even harder. WG just dont want to nerf the correct way, so we are faced with Unicum CVs punishing everything, while making the game unfun for average CV players and DDs (or other surface ships for that matter). DBs need to be nerfed. Rockets need to be more viable, but less punishing per strike. Would be far more fun for everyone involved. Devstriking DDs with DBs is retarded at best imo. -

If you think, tanking and capping have equal value in winning the game compared to damage and spotting, you are totaly wrong... Tanking is nothing you can do actively. If the enemy isnt shooting you, because your teammates are sitting broadside, then you are out of luck. Imo the most ideal situation would be, that noone would have to tank. DD spots, and all other ships can sit safely behind cover, forcing the ships away or killing them. As for capping: Dont we all know the games, where one side has 2 or even 3 caps and still loses the game? I think ive even won games where the enemies held 4 caps on Haven, because their DDs capped all, and we just killed the others in the meantime. Or standard battle: When do you cap the base while your team is losing? Happens extremely rarely. Most of the time, one team is losing anyway, and instead of killing them, someone is capping the base regardlessly. Sometimes you can make them leave the base ofc, to get all kills. Spotting is the most crucial thing in the game, because it enables damage dealing, which is the 2nd most important part. CVs excel in both, thats why they are unbalanced in my book. Remove/decrease the spotting ability, and it would solve many issues. A Cruiser being spotted or attacked by a CV, cant only focus on what the CV is doing. Wrong move -> BB gets broadside shot of and you die. Same goes for AA cover for your DDs. If the entire team wouldnt be able to shoot you, you could go close with your DD. Now you have to turn away, isolating the DD even more. Which also means, the DD would have to turn away too, otherwise the CV can strike him, if he finds it. -

9 Saipan torps, 3 Floods 2 Engine damages on my GK Yeap, new CVs = fun for everyone /s -
After BBabies, DD/CV mains, Now we have RADAR-CRUISER MAINS Last 21 days, all T7+. Just today had a game with Gadjah vs Atlanta,Belfast,Indianapolis. Ontop of that Cossack and Shiratsuyu who can outspot me by >0,5km. Actively rushed the Cossack and killed it too. And ofc got radared by Belfast couple of times and by the Indi. Survived, and won. Wasnt one of the greatest games, but what can you do. Other classes have crap games too. Couple of weeks ago, also Gadjah in CV game + a Kronshtadt/Belfast which radared me 4 times total. Survived and won aswell. Was a good game too damage wise and fun because it was tight all game long. So you get abused by random players whom you dont know. This generation snowflake cant deal with anything I scout all the time despite Radar ships in the game, even CVs. Just plan your way out before hand. Spot the Radar ships for your team. Recently, my best survivability is with DDs aswell... Its not good this way. More often than not, one side loses all their DDs. That both DDs retreat doesnt happen all the time. And then what? The side without DDs get stomped because they cant escape the permaspotting from the DDs - not to mention having constant Torpthreat. Game today, we had 2 DDs on our flank on Two brothers. They just died (one sat in smoke, got torped, the other yoloed in). We had to fight 2 DDs with 3 BBs and a Cruiser. Meanwhile, our "teammates" from the other side kept pinging our map because they are stupid. I dont give a crap about that. I play the way so i win the game. We killed several ship (despite being outnumbered and without spotting), forced the others back and won the game. And this only worked because the DDs were stupid on the other side aswell. Radar is not there to kill bad DD players, its there to limit good DD players in their actions. If one of the DDs would have been decent, we would have been fucked. You not understanding them doesnt make them stupid Well... with this, i agree. WG shouldnt have given US CLs radar imo. They have DefAA and Hydro, which no other Cruiser line has. And Radar on top. They have kinda bad armor, but the Citadel sits very low, so devstriking them is kinda hard imo. Ofc introducing the new CV meta is crap - but i hate it in every ship i play actually. DDs get more limited by that, cant deny that. Mostly because of limited torprange especially on midtiers. But then you have those games, were no CV is present, and then you kinda need Radar. Id say, WG should introduce a light Radar version on T5+, so DD players actually can adapt to that, before they get to T8 where they will face T10 ships with long range/duration radar quite often. LoS Radar wont come, and its crap anyway. Read some posts from me in this thrad, I and others explained why its bad for DDs aswell. You cant buff torpedo spotting on radar ships, because torpedo spotting is handled by the torps. They have a fixed spotting range, which gets enhanced by Hydro or Vigilance.

If we would have lost, i think we would have seen several deinstalls right after that But GG, was kinda tough for a floating Citadel like the Marblehead, but was still good damage, i open water gunboated the DoY in the end and got it with my last salvo -
How do you play the Kronshtadt? Give me Advice!
DFens_666 replied to hamed_pour's topic in General Discussion
Sounds kinda weird when its your 2nd most played ship... with more average damage than your T9 BBs -
One game i was even 1vs7, and i just managed to survive no thx to my Akatsuki who even torped me, left me with 1k health just before my 4th nelson got printed, but since enemies got 1000 points, i managed to get both achievements Its luck to some degree, but Nelson has the best chance to get away with it.

You have Nelson? Try that. Lots of DoYs/KGVs kept HE farming me from everywhere. 3 Games in a row i got both Dreadnought and Fireproof, so i was done with it

Guess its time to leave WOWs for good... Yesterday was such a shitshow again, basicly losing every game with a CV in it, because naturally, my team had the utter moron who kept licking the border clean. All others were won, except one game which had no CV in it Im at last stage Exeter, will do that now and then i really dont want to play wows anymore -
Staggering 61% MBHR on top. Then i had to face class, which kept striking me within seconds. Start -> bomb -> F -> repeat while reversing at 6~km from me, fully angled. How about i get 3x AA buff on my Fiji, because i cant damage an angled CV properly, so i want to be equaly immune to his crap aswell (thats what CV players keep saying isnt it? not being immune to a CV strike? So dont be [edited]immune to my AP shells either) Old CV couldnt have survived this, because i could have dodged his strike once, and then kept going full speed towards him. With this shitshow, i was dodging 90% of the time, while my turrets cant even follow Broken rework... to WG for [edited]the game, because oh wonder, my CV couldnt help me against being attacked every 10 seconds btw According to WG, this is a problem because skill gap, and needs to be adressed. Any other class he would have lost the game, im 100% sure of this.

Why dont High Tier Battlecruiers have torpedoes ?
DFens_666 replied to OddityNZ's topic in General Discussion
Alaska has 36mm Deck armor, so it will bounce more shells on average than a Kronshtadt can. As for the Citadel: I feel Alaska has the upper hand there aswell. Sits so low in the water, i usually got only 1 when i shot one in a BB. Kronshtadts get eaten by >429mm caliber shells (because of the overmatch on the citadel deck). My highest damage salvo ever was 60k Musashi vs Kronshtadt -

Thats prolly why WG doesnt understand it when we bring stuff like this up here Reminds me of the Conq we had couple of days ago... started to brag how we need 4 of us to kill him -
99% AP. However, you should consider going back to T3-4 and LEARN the game this time. You have no clue what to do on hightiers, and it shows in your stats. https://wows-numbers.com/de/player/528517617,666Priest/ please look for yourself. I dont think you will have much fun playing this game if you keep playing hightiers. You wont achieve anything really, and you will need to pump money into the game to be able to afford playing those hightier ships. Go back -> learn the game -> have more fun (and more fun for your teammates too) -> Profit

In b4 Conqueror buff? Most of the time, Conquerors have worse WR than corresponding TX ships... even good players.
