But Stalin has this weird protective nose blocking the path to the Citadel. We tested it in training room at different ranges with Musashi and GK against a bow on Stalin. We failed to get a Citadel. Not sure which range would work best... On the other hand, ive gotten frontal Citadel with GK against Moskva at ~11km.

Maybe you could post a replay or 2, so we can see how you play. Just pushing right away from the start pretty much never works. First you have to know, where the enemies are going. If you have little opposition, sure you can try to push ahead. But if you are outnumbered, there is no use to push, as you will just die. Since you are approaching midtiers now, this will become more evident. On T3-4(5) you can get away with it. But when you have to face T6-8 ships, you will pretty much just die. BBs pushing are very valuable when done at the right time. If you use your big HP pool and armor correctly, you can win the game. Its hard to give a general advice for it, as every game is different.

Thats kinda the problem If so, then ofc. But if something goes wrong, then you could miss a potentially good AP salvo. Yeah true, but personaly i rather pick another target if possible. Killing a bow on Moskva/Stalin shooting HE in a BB will take far too long. If possible, get to their broadside, or kill other ships first. Depending how far you are away, you can target their upper bow too. Moskva can be citadelled from their, Stalin seems very improbable (alltho ive heard that its possible).

Probably the only viable target for HE would be DDs... and even then, your AP does good damage anyway. I dont really use HE ever in my Musashi (dont have yamato yet) You could target a GK with HE since he can basicly bowtank you. Or you shoot his guns/superstructure, which works aswell. If you have to shoot an enemy yamato at 15km, then you can shoot AP at his bow. However, most of his Deck will bounce your shells. Upper belt works aswell. Otherwise you should probably go for another target, or reposition yourself.

This i remember everytime somebody talks about it. Burned into my brain... People just died, and tried to kill something desperately, but just couldnt. Team died faster. Was with Nagato btw. Funny thing, we had like 2 caps

In b4 lock aka to the mods: I deliberately NOT went for the CV rework thread, as this doesnt have anything to do with CV rework, its about CVs in general. I think it makes sense, to make a seperate topic about it and keep this seperate from the bickering in the other thread. What i was thinking about, after i actually wrote it today, that there is a certain synergy between BBs/DDs/Cruisers. If i play a DD, then its good if i have BBs around which can kill Cruisers for me, or Cruisers which can Radar enemy DDs. I for one, can spot for the BBs/Cruisers. A CV doesnt bring anything new to the table. Best case is, he can spot for me, if he understands to do it, and if he doesnt have to farm damage. And even tho, planes are very fast, they cant be everywhere, and average players wouldnt understand whats best in a certain situation anyway. Worst case scenario is ofc, that the enemy CV will ruin my game right from the get go, since he has to pick one target anyway. So most of the time, there is no benefit from having a CV in the game, its rather the opposite. So my idea is, give surface ships a benefit for having CVs in the game. And i was thinking about, enabling special consumables when CVs are present in the game. You get only 1 (maybe 2) charges, and there is no premium for it or SI which will increase the amount. The most challenging part will be, that it cant be as much about defending yourself against other CVs, because that wouldnt make any sense imo. So the best thing would be, if those consumables help against other things. If CVs give me something, which helps my own gameplay, then they might be more welcome in the game, especially when i can choose myself when to activate it. And bonus i think, it could reduce the skillgap between good and bad CVs, because a good surface ship player can then profit from having a CV, even if his own CV wasnt a good player. I think that would be win-win for everyone. I want to throw some of my ideas out, and see, if others have some interesting ideas aswell. Maybe we can present that to WG, and see if they like it. Probably we would need a couple different for each class, so that some nations can have one, and other nations can have another which would benefit them. ! I dont see this as the alternative support role for CVs. I hope, WG wouldnt go down that round, because that would again cause more problems imo. ! For some consumables, we even could have planes starting from the CV and move to the ship which requested them. Maybe it takes some time to deploy it, making it take longer the further you are away? DDs Disperse enemy attack planes (as i said, i wouldnt like that, but it might be viable for DDs). Will take time to arrive at the location, will then circle around the DD for ~45 secs. Will not shoot down any enemy planes, but will disturb the enemy attack so they cant have an accurate drop, much like panic drop from old DefAA. Can not be shot down. Also not visible on map. Idea behind this, so DDs could get a Cap without being resetted. Cruiser Deploy smoke screen. Short duration (maybe ~20 secs) smokescreen on the target, so its purely defensive. Potentially could drop a line of smoke in the Cruiser moving direction (if forward then ahead, if reversing than behind. Not for BCs/RN CLs. BBs Fire-fighting plane: Will drop water on the BB to extinguish a fire. Maybe needs 45-60 sec to arrive in the location, and is active for 60 seconds. Torpedo spotter. Will spot torps in close proximity (3-4? km) around the BB for ~30 secs. Not for german (Hydro) BBs. General (not sure where to put) Spotting around the target within x km for xx seconds. I think it shouldnt be, so that you can attack a target too often, rather so you can spot him briefly and know of the danger around. (might work well, if CVs would lose the spotting for their team!) Will add more tomorrow, as its kinda late now. But those i thought of at first, and i think that would actually be a good thing for the game. Then i would have certain situations where i feel: Good that i had a CV with me in the game! Lets see what you guys think of it, hope to see some nice ideas -
Id like to add something for the 6th slot module: - Range mod: Ive heard @GarrusBrutus had some success using this, by getting longrange (deck?) pens against BBs. Maybe he can tell you something about it - Reload mod: I dont prefer it, because reload is fast enough - AA mod: Might take that instead, could open up some captain points I went a bit troll meme build by using SE on my Mino. Which was down to me playing Radar mino, but with CVs being in basicly every game, i went back to smoke mino. SE synergizes with your repair party, so you can heal more.

Thats what i was going for. The best solution is to have CVs give me a benefit, which will outweigh the negative side of getting attacked by planes, which i can only stop by sinking the hull (which most of the time wont work till late game). If i can have something, which normaly i cant have, then there could be a reason that you WANT to have a CV in your team. Alltho i think its a thin line to not create OP/imbalanced stuff. Whats happening in this game... you cant make this crap up -

Other ships do benefit in one way or another. Even tho, many people say teammates are this and that. Even if nothing else, you can try to abuse them as punching bags Saying, most players dont benefit you ever, is simply a lie. Support, what good players here in the forums often talk about, is probably too complex for the average player to understand. They lack knowledge (or experience if they dont care) to do the right thing at the right time. Doesnt mean you could simply remove them from the game and play 1 vs all. No CVs dont benefit surface ships. The negative will outweigh the little positive things they can do for you (aka spot). Most players even fail to make correct target selection (ok, its not limited to CVs, but its as worse as a DD torping a <1k HP ship because "MY KILL") -

WG likes gimmicks I kinda know/think that WG will go that route with Support CVs, and i think it will either not work, or they will be very unpopular. My idea is, that i get something from the CV, independent of it what he is doing himself. Any action, which the CV has to do for me, will most of the time not work out. How many people were whining with RTS CVs about no fighter cover? It was there all the time, either because CV was bad, deplaned or busy on the other side of the map. As a single individual, it will still feel like CV is not helping you most of the time, also because its simply not possible. Thats why i would like to be able to "call" in help from the CV, when i need it myself. I guess thats meant as a joke (atleast somewhat)? I mean, thats basicly the problem why surface ships dont get anything out of having a CV in game. Imo for most players, there is hardly ever a scenario, where he will feel, that a CV enhanced his enjoyment. Your own CV does his thing (farm damage, kill ships), enemy CV does his thing -> killing you My own CV cant prevent that, and even if he could, then its still his "fault" that there are CVs in the game to begin with. Thats why, any anti-CV assist your own CV can provide you is kinda flawed. If he can provide me with something, that no other ship can, then i believe, that CVs would be more welcome in the game. Yeah, as i said, i believe it too. But i also think, that it will not work properly or could even be unpopular to play. -
Yeah, you get flags only once per day for those achievements. https://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Achievements It says 24h, but i always thought thats a daily thing. When server goes to next day, you can get it again afaik.

Id like to add to this, that low WR BB/DDs can even be down to divisions consisting of 3 of those 40% players. Naturally, they will lower their WR to new depths (especially if they play 3x DD div or 3x TX BB) While this guy https://wows-numbers.com/player/504245102,MechMac/ doesnt need a division, he gets 28% Haku WR all by himself Must be a bot or something i dunno, seems crazy...

Well ofc, but i think there a lot of people unhappy with the new CVs aswell. I dont think, anyone can deny that. Old RTS CV players, people who straightup quit the game with the rework, surfaceship players that feel are getting abused by CVs without retaliation (we get several threads per day ! ) and DD players in general. In general, i feel the game has gotten worse over the years. Could be me ofc, but atleast for my enjoyment its gotten worse. And its not only because of CV rework. Powercreep is one thing, Meta being what it is, is another one (for that i blame CV rework). And i always wanted, that every class can have fun playing the game. A lot of people just want to read what they wanna read however, and they start to lable you (CV/DD hater, CV/DD apologist, BBaby, i wanna protect my Cruisers). Literally i got called everything of those over the years. If that would be true, it would mean that i actually want a BALANCED game, as i will be for or against certain changes depending on the situation. - Im pro radar, and i think radar is necessary for the game -> DD players dislike me - I know new CVs made playing DD much harder and pretty much unappealing to play -> DD players like me, even if they previously were against me With how CVs are currently in the game, i dont feel that they bring any enjoyment when i play any surface ship. It ranges from mildly annoying to game ruining depending on the class. If i play a DD, Cruisers and BBs can do certain things which help me to get a fun game. I can spot for them so i can help them have a nice game. Your own CV provides nothing if he choses to be on the other flank, or even ignores to spot DDs which are 12km away from his hull. Ontop of that, the enemy CV can ruin your entire game.

Im already playing very little. Problem is, i think this game could be much more enjoyable, but lack of alternatives still keep me here (somewhat, as im playing other games more) Pobeda is WiP... thats what im saying. You dont need to [edited]test that, its clear that it will be totaly OP. Also, i gave 2 examples about OP ships. Want more? Minekaze got nerfed, as it was same as Kamikaze trio. Kamikazes ofc stayed the same because they are premiums... They dig their own holes by releasing OP ships. Stalingrad has imo 2 features which tend to make it too strong: Shorter fuse AP, and the armor threshold to arm the shell is lower than normal. Result is more citadels even tho it has railguns, and more pens or armor, which would be too thin for other ships to arm the shell. I still dont share all the Stalingrad whining in Forums, because its mostly down to one streamer, who said Stalin is OP. Where are the guys whining that Bourgogne is OP? Oh right, no streamer said its OP! Quite frankly, its much stronger in randoms than Stalingrad.

1. what El2aZeR said 2. how can they possible know what they are doing, when they sometimes create new ships which are just broken (either good or bad)? People, who are playing this game for a longer time, and arent mashed potatoes, will see how a ship will perform just by looking at the stats. BBs with Cruiser dispersion? In which world would that be balanced? They tried it with GC first (then nerfed it a bit but its still OP), now they did a worse version of it on Pobeda. Or lately they didnt know what to with Neustra. First was below average. Then they slapped a zombie heal on it, which was broken af OP (no surprise there), so they nerfed the heal again and i think it might still be too strong.

WG sikrit data better than what we have, is no problem komrade TBF, he couldnt have said anything else, it would be admitting that the rework was a failure from that pov.

Funny thing, ive been having great results aswell since the rework (especially WR), doesnt mean it has been more fun tho And if you meet a "wrong" CV player, you certainly will feel it... no matter how much AA you have skilled. -
TBH, i wouldnt hesitate to think that WG actually blocked those "inefficient" skills at some point. I did skill IFHE on my Massa when 0.8.0 hit. But lately, havent tried anything like that. Looking at what WG has been doing, i wouldnt be surprised one bit

What do you expect from people who have the map awareness of a... i dont know, there is no analogy Couple of days ago one of my teammates: crap CVs. Which ofc wasnt even really true. I mean, enemy CVs were better, but ours were decent for sure. Well... braindead playerbase ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
