Worst thing about the game is still the MM
DFens_666 replied to valrond's topic in General Discussion
Weird... maybe MM has changed so much. Even playing T8/9 ive seen less TX than previously, so could be true. Back when i played Edinburgh, i hated it. Basicly TX always, and its like having a Fiji (with zombie heal). But Fiji is always awesome -
Shorten cap times Domination Random Battles
DFens_666 replied to LemonadeWarriorITA's topic in General Discussion
Most likely, you will cap slower (because how the mechanic works), if the other ship is getting resetted. Which is a good chance, if its not a DD. And even then, chances are higher that one gets detected. Personaly i think, 45 secs might be a good middle ground.- 18 replies

If planes cant spot anymore, maybe CV hull can be stealth too *casually driving with your DD* BOOM -> Die Hard ram by CV

That depends what you are looking for. As we have established, for accurate data wows.numbers isnt the best. If you look at average damage per week, than we can see CVs are rising, despite them being nerfed in between. So naturally, people are getting better with them (makes sense, as it was a "new" class introduced into the game, and most people had to start from 0). So wows.numbers includes those aswell as broken af OP Haku from 0.8.0, which is not reliable. You can look at last weeks numbers for CVs, aswell as all other ships, which is more reliable than having data containing month or years with different Metas or nerfs/buffs. I think it start with AirSupremacy stating, that TX CVs have ~80k avg damage, and another person responded, that they have ~97k. Both are "right" depending at which data you look at. But doesnt mean, that both are equally reliable to compare with other ships. F.e. conqueror had 100k avg damage last week. Randomly picked a week from september last year: 98k average damage. Nothing has changed much. It might change, when Conqueror gets the proposed changes. Midway however, had <80k first week of febuary. Last week it already had 98k, which is an increase of over 20%!

wowsnumbers includes all data since a ship entered the game. We have had CV rebalancing atleast once a month, sometimes even within 1 week. 0.8.0 Haku has nothing to do with current Haku, but all stats are included on wowsnumbers. Maplesyrup has imo more reliable data, as you can check each week, but its not perfect either. WG has their own data, which includes EVERY player, while statsites cant track hidden profiles. WG can balance ships however they like. And whether something is OP or not, can always depend on the person looking at it. And then you have people who nitpick at every single stat and ofc a single stat is usually not a good indicator if something is OP or not. But if you present them everything why you think something is OP, then they still keep argueing...

Naval Battle Defeat 10 - 11 NF?
DFens_666 replied to Karasu_Browarszky's topic in General Discussion
? The more people a clan has, the more attempts they get. Individually you have 10 attempts, but 10 players in a clan got 100 total. -
Defensive AA Fire Modification 1 useless now?
DFens_666 replied to DFens_666's topic in General Discussion
Sure no arguement there. If anything, the Panic mode made you atleast somewhat safe against a drop, even if the AA was garbage to begin with. But now CV can strike you with AP bombs through DefAA without any debuff to his accuracy... -
Defensive AA Fire Modification 1 useless now?
DFens_666 replied to DFens_666's topic in General Discussion
Hmm hard to say. Ive had a couple of times, in which a CV would throw all his crap at me, and it took the entire DefAA time to shoot them down. Probably was more down to the skill of the CV player however. But since there is only 1 squad in the air now, if that squad leaves your AA range, then its pretty useful to force the CD. Happens more often when the CV is striking a ship next to you however. -
How many of you use Mods or Programs In WOWS to your advantage?
DFens_666 replied to Redcap375's topic in General Discussion
Guess you found it now First thing which came to mind: But you dont know who is voting "no mods" as you cant see their stats (wait, wasnt there only one "no" option before? ) Currently i dont use any mods. At some point, i tried a couple - X marks the spot before they introduced it. When there was a huge debate about that in the forums if it does anything for you. And i clearly had the feeling that its too powerful as a mod. Now thats in the game, i still think its not right, and shouldnt be in the game. - Angle mod, felt really annyoing as its in the middle of the screen. Could be helpful i think - That thing that shows colors if ship is moving or not: Felt its also annoying me more than it helps. I rather trust my own eyes/feeling. Overall, got bored with keeping it up to date, and went back to playing without Aslains. The timer/points thing would be nice to have tho, as it shows who is winning. They should include that in the game imo. -
Watched the replay, and just 2 things about why you dealt less damage than you could have: Here when you shot the FDG. German BBs tend to have really thick armor everywhere. You cant penetrate them with your HE. The best bet is to go for their large superstructure. The shells landed a bit short and hit his belt/deck armor. French and UK BBs have less armor, them you can pen basicly everywhere with your Ibuki. US and IJN BBs are in between. They dont have as thick armor as Germans, but have places where you will shatter. If you want to learn more about that, just check some armor models in port. You can also check your HE penetration in port, for Ibuki its 33mm. Every armor, which is more than 33mm will shatter your HE shell, and you cant deal any damage. However, you can still start fires normaly. Here your aim is too high. Cruisers have generally thin armor except at the belt (where the citadel is). If you hit thin armor with AP, you will have a higher probability to get overpens, which deal little damage. General advice: You have problems estimating speed of the targets, or basicly get the correct lead. You can use your torpedo tubes to see, how fast the target is moving. The closer the indicator is to the ship, the slower it is moving. Or see the smokestacks, it also indicates if the target is not moving (no smoke) or reversing (smoke is blowing to the bow of the ship) Occasionally you seem to follow your shells to see if you hit. Funny thing is, it felt, that the salvos which were off, you didnt check where they were going If you get a better feeling how to get a correct lead, you will also deal more damage. You missed out on more damage because your lead was off, than that your shells didnt deal any damage depsite hitting. And Cruisers are extremely squisy. You show broadside -> BBs will citadel you. (well, they can also citadel you if you dont show broadside, but its less likely, as you make yourself smaller). You should stay at longrange with your Ibuki, and shoot HE most of the time. When the time is right, you can move closer ofc, but you need more battles to learn that properly. Wiggle as much as possible in between shots, your reload isnt the fastest, so you can turn in to use all guns, and turn out when they are reloading. Also have an eye on when BBs are shooting you, then you shouldnt turn broadside ofc.

why are games just suddenly ending with like 5 v 5 and 5 mins to go!!!
DFens_666 replied to mediaman1111's topic in General Discussion
Give replay? -
You can post a replay, so we can see where you are shooting at. You have only 700 battles played. You are most likely lacking knowledge which area to shoot at, and maybe even which ammo to use. That said, Ibuki has 203mm guns, so its HE is potent against pretty much everything. AP is usefull against broadside BBs/Cruisers only.

Worst thing about the game is still the MM
DFens_666 replied to valrond's topic in General Discussion
That would include, that most matches are roflstomps, especially for good players. The problem is, the more bad players you put on one side (even if they also have more good players), the more you will create matches which seem to be tight, but are lost anyway. Bad players will most likely just die right away, so one side will be down a couple of ships early on. Good players can sustain pressure for some time, but doesnt mean that they can win against all odds. Tight matches are more fun, but they are also more work, since you can hardly make any misplays at all. After a hard game, sometimes you have to take a break... -
Problem is, bad people are failing even harder than before. They probably just didnt like CVs being RTS
-
You do remember, that starting several squads, moving in for the kill and fly back and land the squads took several minutes with RTS CVs? If anything, they were even more dependant on time Killing a ship didnt take 5 secs as some people claim... New CVs have lower avg damage, because noobs cant get anything done. RTS CVs included point+click, so even a monkey could have dealt damage with them. The bigger noob the enemy was, the more damage you could get on him (not dodging torps, baiting DefAA and what not). I think, the difference became bigger than with RTS CVs. Even noob CV players managed >40k avg damage with hightier CVs. That means, good players also deal more damage, as they have to contribute more to the average damage. https://wows-numbers.com/de/ship/4179605488,Midway/?order=average_damage_dealt__desc&p=14 new midway players reach new lows in damage dealing. https://wows-numbers.com/de/ship/4279220208,Midway-30-01-2019-/?order=average_damage_dealt__desc&p=23 Old midway players had atleast 40k. Except for 4 guys. New players we already have 40 with damage below 40k.
-
But CV also has high average damage... so even if they are grabbing easy kills, it doesnt matter in regards of their damage dealing capabilities.
-
Ive seen that either on Twitch or YT (believe the latter, should have saved it) where someone got shot at by a BB without having PT showing it up. However was a german BB, so dispersion was inconclusive by just watching
-
I guess the easiest way would be, that everybody has to manually select the target in the first place. But cant have that with our degenerated playerbase (atleast WG seems to think that way, since everything else is "too complicated" also)

We need a video of "how it works" on IJN AP bombs vs certain BB
DFens_666 replied to anonym_RGvUdEcxWWvD's topic in General Discussion
UK/French BBs sits very low, and are pretty small in general IIRC. When Conqueror gets changed, Citadels might become more frequent. I think best bet is check armor model in port and see, which part the Citadel sits at, see if that makes a difference. -
Most likely be the arcs from them But that definetely makes sense. Good to know
