  1. I guess if colbert would be available like Salem, they would be in good company down there together And i believe, thats why they dont feel the need to buff Salem. Subpar players having access to it, while better players most likely ignore it due to similarity towards DM. But with the worse Radar, i dont think it could ever get the same impact DM has. The heal doesnt help much if you get citadelled... and they like to get citadelled

    Yes, thats a good conclusion. If you are dead, you cant do anything more. And this game is very slow paced anyway, so its not that crucial to do something right away.

    For some reason, XP bonus doesnt get added towards FreeXP, and i believe it used to be that way? Not too long ago, i tried to convince someone to use ESCL flags because why not - its the same amount of Captain XP like Zulu Hotel. Here screenshot to show it FreeXP only Base * modifiers. Nothing else in there. For captain XP, it looks like this however As it says "Ships Bonuses" 12541 its the amount of normal XP modifiers.

    Well, nothing you could do here really. Just a case of bad team. So cant really say much about this, only a few things: - When you were radared behind the island, why did you pop the smoke? There was no benefit for you. - you often use the TBR but dont use it then. Imo thats not good. IF you use it, you should throw the torps out aswell. Otherwise you could let them reload by themselves, happened 2 times i think. - Took the next screenshot a bit late, but i think it wasnt the best option to farm a bit damage on that retreating Iowa.Basicly you sat very long behind the island, and the Seattle rushed ahead and you got into his Hydro.But you got the cap anyway, so you didnt need to wait there anymore. Farming BBs early on just doesnt win games. Get rid of DDs and Cruisers first. - AP moment, also not sure if Torps were necessary. I think with AP you could have disposed of him MUCH faster. Also i believe, you could use AP on the broadside Iowa aswell later on. Well, i think this is another case all together, there were some bad moves: - You went to A behind the island. Personaly i dont like this. You dont see anything, and enemies had no radar IIRC, and the map is quite big anyway so you cant really get radared at A, unless you let the Cruiser slip in because you dont see him. The problem was, that you got RPFed while standing in A, that should have made you cautious. You werent RPFed before, so the target HAD to be coming over from B, there was no other option. And the Daring popped up from there soon after that. Then you run away, but open up on the Khaba, i think that wasnt a smart move, as you traded quite badly against him. Many enemies could shoot you, but your team couldnt really shoot the Khaba as there were 2 islands between most of them. - Later you go back into the cap, while already on rather low health, the Khaba knows that and he can just rush you, because he has HP advantage, and you give up your advantage over him: Having better concealment. I think you could outspot him by atleast 2km (that would be a khaba with concealment build, which would be pretty weird anyway, might have been even more), and safely spot him for your team. You could have dont that when you ran away from the Daring and not shoot the Khaba. But just spot him and make him run away. - And in the end you died while you could have popped your heal, as it wasnt on Cooldown. And you should have used one heal earlier anyway, when you retreated from A. So TLDR: Kitakaze game didnt tell us about your gameplay much, you couldnt have won this despite all efforts. Grozovoi you did some mistakes, but the replay ended i guess you left the game? Hard to tell how close it was in the end, and IF your contribution would have mattered in the end.
  7. Well somewhat ok day i guess. Could have been better, but the few losses where just "team lemmings all to one side, then starts a campfire". I tried to hold the center 2 times with Musashi/Iowa, but got just overran from the flank because there was no flank On a positive note, pos Amagi is done, now i can go onto Izumo. And CBs also did the Vladi grind, so got Soyuz aswell. 3 T9 BBs to grind... thats fun ?! Few funny things from the games Devstrike with a fire from my Secondaries, because my AP blapped him just prior to that Lucky me, he took all 3 torps. He wanted to swing around and use his other side, so had to go all of nothing.

    Better upload some replays so we can have a looksy. Its pretty hard to give decent advice, since we can only guess the problem, so we can only give the usual advice. If you can analyze your own mistakes, you can avoid making them in the future aswell. So sometimes it can help aswell to look at your own replays without the pressure of playing the game.

    So let them sit in queue for 5 mins then park them in a 12v12 BB battle. Or just change MM if a class has more than X ships waiting dump them in a game by themselves. I believe a lot of BBabies would actually like this Game would be better if Cruisers would make the majority of ships in a battle Sometimes you get those games with 7 Cruisers, i think they are very nice (mostly on low-midtiers tho)

    How many torps you used to hit with Hosho? The spread was huge, often you even got 1 on a BB because lowtier BBs arent that big. Maybe 2 if you are lucky, and maybe 3 on a Kongo. With new Hosho, you can often hit all 6 from one squad. Even hitting DDs is quite easy. Thats the autodrop only Hosho btw. And old Hosho was more about dot stacking (remember when permaflood hurt like hell). While new CVs are basicly pure alpha damage dealers. Getting a permaflood on a BB is quite rare, and its not even nearly as devastating as it used to be. But 8-9k damage per drop is not tickling something. Even for a BB down there thats quite a lot. Meanwhile, i get like 2-3k on T8 from those CVs while having almost double the HP as a BB. Thats tickling someone. Hosho is disgustingly overpowered. Hurts like a truck (you can basicly kill a Cruiser with one torp squad) and no counterplay from anyone. Most people dont even know that they should dodge...

    I think its easier to judge what Hosho can do if you play it yourself. As you see how new/average player will react to it... basicly they dont. Ive been spanking DDs left right and center. First game with the buffed Hosho, found myself a Clemson right away (so barely 1 min into the game). Head on, i turned planes on a dime, he couldnt dodge because an island in his side, smack 8,5k almost all his health gone. Ofc he was spotted, so his game ended pretty much before the 2 minute mark. In which world this is fun? Its retarded beyond belief. Sure you get those players occasionally who will dodge (or try to), but then just ignore them for the time being, and pick one of the other ~10 newbies.

    New players dont know how to dodge torps, and they cant use AA skills because they dont even have captains! Or they for sure dont have 10+ pointers. ANd some ships dont have actually any AA

    Make citadels un-overpennable

    Emile is basicly impossible to citadel if it shows broadside. The armor is just too thin, that the shells most likely wont even arm at all. Dallas has the problem of actually having a tiny citadel. Ive overpenetrated Dallas' simply by hitting the wrong place. But i think, its mostly a problem on low-midtiers and ofc russian bias shells dont help, as they are very fast. So its more likely for them to overpenetrate. On the other hand, ive gotten overpens on the citadel with Algerie on an Omaha at close range... kinda sucks aswell. Just did some training room testing to show it: Dallas Citadel marked in red: first hit did get a Citadel. Cant really tell if it was underwater, but i dont think it was not after looking where it hit. 2nd hit he was dead already. Cant Citadel Omaha at 4km - shells will go through. Emile Broadside overpens because no armor (or french armor). 2nd volley straight from behind - Citadel. Algerie Broadside only overpens because french armor. 2nd screen is aiming for Algerie weakspot at the front turret, the french Cruiser have it after Emile IIRC. Citadel right away.

    HE Spam from BB's

    Depends where you hit and how far away that Cruiser is. Cruisers only have thicker armor at the citadel, so you hit upper belt/bow/aft/superstructure you are guaranteed to overpen. If you hit the Citadel, you can only overpen it, if your shell exists the ship before it can detonate (usually 0.033 secs for almost all BBs). Try to shoot AP with UK techtree BBs (and Nelson/DoY), see if you get more citadels. They have shortfuse AP, so you literally cant overpenetrate the Citadel of a Cruiser. If you aim right, you wil get citadels. if you aim wrong, you will still get overpens. AP is almost guaranteed to be better on broadsiding ships, regardless if you sometimes cant delete them. With HE, you can never delete them. you can only get 6500 damage on a citadel hit, as HE damage works the same way as AP damage. Max damage only on Citadel hits, otherwise its 33%. AP shells can also overpenetrate for 10% damage. So Amagi can deal 12.600 AP damage on a Citadel hit, or 4158 with a penetration or 1260 with an overpen. But with HE its basicly 100% 2145 damage (or less if the area is saturated). I mean, you could citadel a shchors with IFHE Amagi, but other than that, you are locked out of getting HE citadels with Amagi. Even the best HE shells will deal not more than 2,7k HE damage, and only under some optimal circumstances 7-8k (conqueror using HE on a Mino f.e.) So basicly a BB will deal 5x the damage with an AP citadel compared to HE pens.

    Wow, i want those 21.000 damage HE shells Shooting HE all the time is for dummies who cant bother to learn to use AP properly but will lose more often because they can only farm damage over time, and cant get rid of targets fast. If you shoot a broadside cruiser with HE and get 10k damage and that cruiser gets to live then the salvo was bad. If you delete him with AP, then he is out of the game and cant hurt your team anymore.

    I know where he is going with this: Buy "OP" ship with money, pad stats with it so stats look good -> get into good clan to play with other stat padders (?) = profit? Not sure how that works out tho, if everyone is just padding their stats with "OP" ships

    Smolensk - Why I prefer rangebuild

    Basicly one reason why i dont consider Smolensk to be OP - it doesnt have a really high influence on the outcome of the game. Yeah, you can farm BBs longrange with HE and get high damage, but that doesnt decide games. Radar Mino should imo win easily more games and probably get like half damage. Now one can decide which is more important. Im more appealed towards radar Mino, because it is fun and requires skill AND you get rewarded with a win.

    Accurate If you can shoot DDs, take it. If you can shoot Cruisers, take it. If you wanna shoot BBs from longrange, take something else because it lacks pen. But if you get rid of DDs/Cruisers first, you can close the distance against enemy BBs and then you pen is good enough to punish them aswell. Thats my hitrate in 16 games ranked sprint. And thats even with shooting DDs all the time, since there were games with 3-4 DDs quite often. Have only played 1 random game with it, where i got 44% Hitratio This thing blapps Cruiser left and right.
  23. - Remove PT and IFA so people will actually learn what they can/cant do and THINK if they should do what they are about to do. Or if they dont learn - they deserve to be deleted. - Give every BB a citadel, atleast more or less so you can atleast hit it. - Make hightier BB bows overmatchable by other BBs, so we get rid of this godforsaken bowtanking BB crap unless you meet Yamasushi. Midtier BBs can also live with Bows AND plating being overmatchable. - Get rid of RNG spread for Torps (lets face it, its nothing but retarded). Maybe we can get rid of Widespread aswell and in return give everyone single launch option. - Many ships need rebalancing (buffs / nerfs) - Remove CV spotting for the team (minimap only), then balance them again. - Give Operations Back - Make hightier economy harsher Enough for now?

  25. Yeah, sounds great. But i think the core issue is, that defending is easier than attacking in this game. Was easily proven in that one gamemode where you had to defend but attackers would respawn in between. Spreadsheet says, 50%* of wows population is using this frequently
