    TOTALLY NOT OP Soviet battleships

Maybe you can try this for us? Not sure if you have enough time tho, i guess WG will close the servers before you manage to pull that one off
  2. DFens_666

    Wargaming wiki down?

    Same here...
  3. All in all rather succesful, but man those weekend teams... they like to throw as hard as possible Imo Monarch is quite a nice ship. I like the sAP, often its easy 10-20k damage on a BB. And even a small Cruiser (like the Bayard) gets Citadelled Close range because of it^^
  4. As i said in my first post: I think the whole secondary concept needs a rework. Would make german ships more viable maybe?

Damage saturation. Is it Balance or BB BS?

Then you would need to make every torp in the game equal, which would create quite an imbalance. IJN Torps are stronger than others, but have downsides for it. German torps are probably the weakest. Imagine a Z-52 torp suddenly dealing 22k damage instead of its 14k, while having only a bit more than a minute reload Not to mention some Cruiser torps which deal like 5-6k damage... they tickle BBs at best.

    Toxicity against carriers

Difference is, there is counterplay against those ships. There is literally no counterplay against CVs. You can only hope, that he doesnt target you. You can shoot a kiting Cruiser. You can dodge torps simply by changing your course and the DD needs to be in range to torp you in the first place. The Cruiser is risking his ship, the DD is risking his ship by getting spotted by other DDs, Radar or planes.... CV hull doesnt need to be anywhere near the battle and can still strike any target at will. Blame WG for the hate tho, after rework it got 10times worse

Damage saturation. Is it Balance or BB BS?

Yeah, still better than no damage tho I remember several incidents with Fiji torping a BB bow and dealing 0 damage when they had <4k HP left

Damage saturation. Is it Balance or BB BS?

Most likely damage saturation played no part in the Monty not dieing. Only if you hit the Bow/aft with torps, then you can get saturation (and even that is offset nowadays, as they changed that torps will always do damage there, so what Panocek posted cant happen anymore imo). If you hit the middle section, the torp deals damage to the citadel, which doesnt get saturated (afaik?, maybe its something like 2x ships HP or something, wows.wiki doesnt work since last couple of days). Yamato can survive a lot of torps because of having the strongest Torpedo reduction. If you hit Yamato bow, you will deal basicly maxdamage with your torp. If you hit the mid section, its like half, so if your torp deals like 16k damage, you will deal something like 8k on Yamato. Try killing one with 6 torps

When to use my Atlanta AP rounds?

Well, id try it against Cruisers getting too close being broadside. But certain BBs dont have much armor either (25-32mm). You can basicly forget the T5 BBs, as they have thick armor still (and russians/Germans unless you can hit their Bow/Aft). But something like Colorado/Nagato should be free farm if they show broadside. They are litereally covered in 25mm armor. Even T8-9 BBs only have 32mm armor (again, except germans/russians).

    TOTALLY NOT OP Soviet battleships

Eeeh... sorry to say, have you seen your own Pyotr/Izmail stats? The biggest issue with russian BBs is, that they are too tanky when properly angled, especially against HE/Fires. They need to be more vulnerable against Cruiser HE, i guess that would do the trick. Most of my russian BBs have missed the memo quite often on that one. Yesterday in Clan Brawl shot a Belfast at 8km and didnt hit one shell. (he was bow on but still...) I often get the same troll feeling as with other BBs too. Only difference is, sometimes you seem to really get those oneshot salvos at closerange, but it certainly is not every salvo. Ive often felt, that BBs are too accurate on longrange in general, while not being accurate enough close range. It makes sitting in the back more comfortable, as you wont just die because RNG trolls you.

    CV Rework Discussion

Yep, been thinking about this one aswell. They finaly showed us the middlefinger i guess Its like "Hey surfaceship mongs, you had a few patches now where we nerfed CVs, now we went back to what we originally wanted so you can [edited]off"
  12. Only because this is an option, doesnt mean its viable in any way. I think its a troll-module from WG and they secretly keep giggling about it when they see how many people actually use this one. Or they dont even understand what it does themselves. Well, thats why i said for me the whole idea of secondary builds on T9/10 is not really viable in the first place. Put a standard tank build BB in the same place, its almost guaranteed to do better than a secondary specced ship. Secondary specs are almost pure funbuilds right now (T7-8 they are stronger when toptier, but worse when bottomtier imo). You simply just cant push in at any moment, or you get killed. So you need to get a good opportunity to push in. Sometimes, you might not even get one. In the meantime, the same ship focusing on its Main Battery and tanking can produce better results earlier on. And a GK can push&tank and win the game even without speccing for its secondaries. I tried secondary GK at first, but now im playing Tank build with it. Reason for this is: - You dont hit DDs at longrange anyway (closerange you hit them even without secondary spec) - You can hit Cruisers at any range basicly, but having a maingun focus enables you to delete them faster, and they have a harder time pulling your DCP if they get only 1 fire on the Superstructure. - Against BBs, you would need IFHE again, as the smaller guns shatter on 32mm. If the enemy BB is kiting, then secondary spec would be better i suppose. But if you can rush them (f.e. even Yamasushi), you can bounce their shells and go into their broadside. Imo little gain for gimping myself more often because you burn like a Christmas tree, and hit less with your mainguns.

    Hindenburg Floating Citadel ?

If there is no ship, which can overmatch 40mm then how does it matter? Even Musashi will bounce off, if the angle is not good. Which really isnt an issue for any BB gun... I also got one more shot on the Hindenburg (lets ignore the <1km volley here, just wanted to see what happens, no citadel there tho) If we look at that, we have 2 volley with and without Citadel on Roon, and 3 volley with Citadel / 2 without Citadel on Hindenburg. If you want a conclusive result, you would need to fire more often. But saying "oh those shots were lucky underwater cits on Roon but not on Hindi" is simply wrong. If Hindenburgs Citadel slope couldnt bounce the shells, you should be able to devstrike a Hindi. As i said, put any other Cruiser in there you will devstrike it.
  14. Is it really an option tho? Im not sure if its an option if the endresult will most likely be worse than before? Being spotted at 16km while you need to close the distance without having anti-DoT skills... doesnt sounds like much fun to me. Also there is a problem with Legendary GK, as it could slot both If you move the LM in 5th slot, then it can slot the LM + MBM3 so it doesnt work either way.
  15. DFens_666

    Hindenburg Floating Citadel ?

As no ship can overmatch the Citadel slope, its pretty irrelevant which ship you take. But i dont see any difference shooting Roon/Hindenburg. Both seems pretty much down to RNG if you get Citadels or no. Maybe you turned, that will offset the Turtleback armor and you get citadelled easier. German Cruiser like to tilt a lot if you make a full turn. I only got a double Cita once, but most of the time 1 cita on either, or even none (also on both). Id say its mostly down to RNG: If you hit below the waterline, you have a better chance to get a Citadel hit. At close range, the shells have more speed so they probably can travel a bit more below water compared to shooting at longer distances. But i dont see much of a difference, only the 2 Citadel hit on the Hindi. But at the same time, also got salvos without Citadel on Hindi so... yeah RNG. Put another Cruiser in there you devstrike it.

    the "carry harder!" thread

Ive lost Fiji games dealing more than 200k (atleast 1, might have been 2)
  17. I think that would make it even worse. If you put it in 5th slot, a secondary build BB cant use either of the 2 concealment buffs. So you would be running around with ships, that are spotting from 16-18km, which probably just ends in a rather fast death, since you wont have captain skill for anti-DoT either (FP/BOS). They already have to compromise their captain skills to make secondaries useful, so you basicly cant use CE. They just need to rework the entire concept of secondary build BBs at this point. In the end, you get a worse (atleast for me) build compared to a tank build, even on strong secondary ships. For me, secondary builds end at T8, because tank build ot T9+10 seems so much more effective (more damage / more game impact). oh btw:
  18. Should work, because in wows if you hit enough layers of armor, the shell will detonate (basicly it adds the values to reach the point where it will detonate) atleast to my knowledge. So 30mm of Upper Belt armor cant arm BB shells. And if it hits the 50mm citadel deck, it will bounce off. If it can overmatch this, it should be enough to make the shell detonate. If it will detonate in time is a whole different story. But as i said, it it would work, it would be totaly overkill and would probably make it almost unplayable because of the small HP pool. Ive devastated so many Kronshtadts with my Musashi, the only option is to not show broadside
  19. Well, if you give it less armor, then you will get even more overpens? (while overmatch becomes possible). Either way wont change that its too small to get reliable citadels closerange. I guess you could nerf the Citadel deck armor, but that seems overkill, if a BB can overmatch it then its GG. Basicly what happens if a Kronshtadt shows broadside to 430+mm guns It just goes *poof* - Nerf fire chance - Nerf reload heavily - Give it 1/5 HE penetration so you can pen 32mm. Problem is, once IFHE change hits it wont pen 32mm anymore Guess that would be ok?

    Hindenburg Floating Citadel ?

More like this 2nd one is also Hindenburg unspotted going to A Or if you like to rush BBs in Hindenburg 60k damage later (or -14k HP on my side) Scaredy pants Monty even turned away as you can see
  21. Almost perfect Clan Brawl. Fucked that loss myself because mixed up Vauquelin and Fiji torps basicly
  22. DFens_666

    Clan brawl

We played 16 games just now, basicly insta matched all the time. Maybe 10 secs or so was the longest.

    Yudachi: before you buy it

Watched this one, and here are some thoughts: - Why did you sit and wait at the island? The Shima was a full retard running TASM1 If you are proxy spotted by something, which you dont see, than the enemy is a moron. If its a DD, then he is retarded. But lets not get into that one more. Either way, at times you were so close to each other, that you could proxy spot each other - is that a good place to be if you have Hydro? - Also the Moskva was spotted behind the island, and the cap was in his radar range. After you finaly got the cap, you went ahead and spotted him. Basicly he knew that you have to be in radar range, because you were in the cap (which they could knew, as they were resetting the FDG but you still got the cap). And the Moskva radar was used a long time ago, so there was a good chance it was available again. - Biggest mistake was, to sit behind the island as long as you had hydro. You basicly waited, that the enemies could get shots from every angle and then you moved out. Cost you over 50% of your health. I wouldnt go so close to the island in the first place. The further you go into the cap, the longer it takes you to get out of the radar range. Maybe the Moskva would have used radar early on, if the shima wouldnt have proxy spotted you (he didnt need to radar, because you were spotted anyway). But by the time he did radar, there were BBs already in a position to shoot at you. Before that, they couldnt because the island was still between you and them. Only crossfire from B could have gotten to you.
  24. This. I dont have GC, but even i was against it. Because it potentially could mean, that they do something to a specific ship which i like to play in Operations or in a division with a friend who plays a certain ship on the same tier. Just no. Id be fine with any balancing change, but not moving them up and down the tiers. best solution would be ofc to NOT make broken ships in the first place Imo there are few OP ships anyway, but many ships are just broken and bad far the game (which a lot of people translate into OP, but it isnt)
  25. Not sure if either is worth it tbh. Colbert and Smolensk are much a like, but Smolensk seems to be easier/better, Ohio on the other hand is similar to Thunderer now. Only exception are the secondaries. But id rate Thunderer better in the other departements. We had the same discussion in our Discord, and we all thought that Thunderer is better. And you "only" need to gather Coal for that one. Maybe wait for another option?
