What no? So you want to nerf smolensk, while all other CLs can stay as they are, even if they are "better" than CAs? Clearly, you dont want balancing, you only want to hate against russian ships... way to make WG listen to you

I think there is a mod which shows the total HP of all ships (they use it often in kots to show HP difference) That should do the trick, as you know what is 100%.

Buffalo I should just stop playing everything else and stick to Cruisers. You dont get that "cheated" feeling as often as with BBs (dispersion) or DDs (torp gaps)... First randoms in the Boise, not too shabby either And new spotting record with Fletcher, after it was Langley previously with 144k -

Some missions work, if they are marked with "Twilight" (in general i didnt like that missions arent available for Scenarios, as one could always play the other OPs with a group of players) About the daily mission: Yeah i noticed that aswell, i guess the daily win bonus for those ships are there for no reason then (shouldnt have given them one in the first place). But i think its too late now to change that anyway.. -
T9 Musashi: Best Missouri/Iowa: Nice FDG: Didnt like it, but it got buffed now. Maybe its good with a tankbuild (i played it secondary which i didnt like) Edit: oh yeah, JB... never clicked with me, i prefer Musashi. T10 Only have GK and Monty, i think both are great in their own way. As i like Musashi, i expect Yamato to be even better. Bourgogne would probably be the best

You dont have to know them all (or well, wouldnt even be that hard since most have similar armor thickness) But something like 100mm secondaries are worth nothing. They can start fires, but apart from that, they wont penetrate anything (almost). German secondaries are better, because they have special penetration rule (not all, but most on T7+). So they can penetrate thicker armor. JB also has 152mm secondaries, which would penetrate 19mm or armor, but they can only fire backwards afaik. Thats the big turret at the back of the ship f.e.

Only superstructure is 13mm, otherwise your small caliber secondaries shatter on it.

First really nice monty game, which also ended in a win. Alltho it looked extremely bad right at the start, no caps 4 ships lost. We had like 70 points left, then started to mop up the enemies -
JB only has 5400 HE damage, so even under best circumstances that would be 14k, not enough to kill a full HP DD. And thats without saturation, which will lower your damage. Also, Fletcher torps have like 19k maxdamage, so 3 hits in the bow would be 57000 without saturation, but you got less so it clearly works. Also, they removed total saturation for torps, because dealing 0 damage with a torp is utterly stupid. And you have 7 secondary hits in the end, so they clearly started to shoot? And last but not least: Why do you expect to rush a DD and get away with it? Obviously, torps get harder to dodge the closer you get, so why make it more favourable for the DD?

Think you can see that if you move the mouse over their name in the loading screen, name is pink then Think you cant set fires/floods to teammates anymore. Wasnt that removed because people wouldnt repair floods and kill their teammates because of it? -

Well yes, i would agree with that one, if we wouldnt have those gimmicky / min-max ships (those that excel extremely at one thing, but are totaly lacking at another part). F.e. lets take french Cruiser here: You can use your MBRB extremely wisely, or waste it like a fool. Ive even seen above average players (on stream) totaly misuse those. Like, right away the first BB gets into range, and they spam it so they get fires. But the BB didnt use its DCP yet. Try to trigger the DCP first (lets be honest: too many BB players extinguish one fire), and then use the MBRB to get follow up permafires. Or use the MBRB to get more citadels on a broadside Cruiser. And that even leaves the 2nd gimmick (Speedboost), which you can use to juke BB shots. So the better you are, the more you gain from those on-demand gimmicks. Other ships have other gimmicks which require less skill to be effective, or they have build-in gimmicks, which work regardless of skill (german BBs being almost "immune" to broadside citadels). The problem with balancing around the average player, are also those ships/lines which are harder to play, which you mentioned aswell. Lets take RN CLs. They are probably the hardest Cruisers to do well in, but if you manage it, they are extremely powerful. Would it help, if we buff them so average playerbase can get better results? I dont think, thats good. Also i believe, if we would balance (well balance is maybe not the right word for it) i think tare is the right word (had to look that up) ships around those best players, the ships performance shouldnt deviate much from other ships of the same class. If the ships then show, that the average player cant make them work, then the concept doesnt work. Basicly that means, the skill ceiling is too great. -

They cant do it anymore. Look at french DDs for example. Even average players will not get them to work properly, because the way they are designed (bad concealment, bad air detection, no smoke), while for Good players they are performing as expected (arguably even better than others, see Kleber meta in CBs). So if we use those ship to balance them around average players, they would require buffs, which would extremely questionable. By balancing around top 5% of the playerbase, you will get an equal ground for every ship imo. Thats what a ship can do provide played to its absolute maximum. And all ships should be equal there. Whether average players can perform equally with every ship is irrelevant imo, simply because they cant do it. They lack experience, knowledge... but that doesnt matter, since we have enough ships to choose from now. Everyone should find something they are able to play with. Its basicly the same "problem" with reworked CVs, where many players struggle with, but the best players are still overperforming as ever. What does that tell us? Reworked CVs have the potential, but most players cant use it. Its inheritly broken by design, as you cant nerf them anymore, but you would need to, because they are too strong. If everyone would be able to play E2lazer, surfaceship play would be dead. -
Minotaur is way better at that. Not to mention, with Radar, you dont even need a DD spotting for you, unlike Smolensk, which cant spot DDs on its own (well, unless DD is very stupid)

No, what he is saying, that those ships overperform other ships if played by Unicums, and i agree mostly. Well, not entirely sure if i agree with Benham, because i just think Benham is bad for the game in general. But lets take something like French DDs as an example. The better you can play them, the stronger they become compared to other DDs. I dont think, if you let a Unicum play a Krasny Krim that he will get better results than in all other T5 Cruisers. Leander probably neither, but Leander is very strong. -

There is no way, a Benham would win against a Z in a gun duel (similar skilled players). Same concealment, while Z has like 40% more HP and the smoke+hydro combo. And Benham has it worse if it gets caught in Z hydro, because it has such a small HP pool. Harekaze has the same issue f.e. Sure i can also do this in Benham (while not dying) but that doesnt mean Benham is superior in firepower compared to the others.
