Why did I drop to such a low winrate with Donskoi
DFens_666 replied to anonym_hiiw5uZtBExP's topic in General Discussion
You really wonder why you lose games when you: - Shoot your DD in spawn - Torp your teammates SEVERAL times in one battle. This was deliberately, not by accident. With that attitude, dont ask for help. Im not gonna help someone who is trying to kill his teammates.- 49 replies

Why did I drop to such a low winrate with Donskoi
DFens_666 replied to anonym_hiiw5uZtBExP's topic in General Discussion
You have like 25 games in Donskoi - thats not a large enough amount of games to make a definite call for that. However, you only having 250 games is a big issue if you play T9 or hightiers in general. You tend to survive a lot, even if you lose most games today. That indicates, that you are sitting too far in the back, and you dont have enough impact early on. And it might be, that you dont focus the right targets and that you arent using your radar properly in the case of the donskoi. DDs often win games, if you fail to help your DD, while the enemy cruiser does it, you put your team at a disadvantage. Farming BBs is pretty much worthless, it only looks nice when you see your damage numbers. Not saying that this is happening, but it might be. The only way to be sure, would be to see a couple of replays. -
Funny and sad game situations shown with map screenshots.

Yeah sounds like average CV player these days. One game, we got told by a CV that our Division has NO IDEA how to play this game, we are total noobs, and every ship needs to protect their CV, aka hug him in spawn basicly... we killed the entire enemy team with our division -
Did you quote the wrong person?

Buy Jean Bart or other coal ships: (Just got Bourgogne)
DFens_666 replied to GulvkluderGuld's topic in General Discussion
Dunno... maybe it was the MM but it somehow didnt click with me. Granted, played only 10 battles with it, but i just like Musashi so much on that tier, maybe thats the issue. Thats why i was sceptical about Bourgogne, but Bourgogne is stronger than Yamato imo. Infact, i think Bourgogne might be the best TX BB, atleast for me. Havent tried Kremlin in randoms tho... -

I think it is. I didnt like JB that much, but Bourgogne is really strong in comparision. -
Havent played Alsace yet. But id assume so. Better speed boost combined with Reload booster can only be better. And Bourgogne has 0,2 better sigma even. I cant possible see how Alsace could produce those damage numbers.

How close is Massa to Alsace gameplay wise
DFens_666 replied to Captain_Campbell's topic in General Discussion
Basicly you want to go for full secondaries with Massa. If you dont, Massa doesnt perform that well compared to other BBs. Lets say, playing a tankbuild Massa is just worse than playing a tankbuild NC (or an Alabama if looking at premiums), not to mention other ships like Lenin. Massas guns are definetely lacking compared to others at her tier. I just had a really good game 2 days ago with it, but i couldnt use my secondaries. Most other BBs would have been better in that game, because of the more consistent guns. -
I got Stalingrad first, and Bourgogne later (in december with the new coupon). Before i got either, i had the same problem. But i wanted Stalingrad more, while everyone was saying, Bourgogne is more enjoyable. And they are absolutely right. Bourgogne is more fun to play, and even stronger imo. While winning with Stalingrad seems kinda easy, it leaves much room for enjoyment. Most of my games where me being locked down somewhere, getting shot at from everything while they keep a perfect angle towards me. Stalingrad does not fare well against bow on targets because of its bad HE DPM. Bourgogne however, you can roam freely. Even more so, since its Speedboost gives 15% bonus, unlike the other french BBs which get only 8%. Bourgogne wins games through movement, Stalingrad through tanking. You can decide whats more fun. Stalingrad is definetely not a Kronshtadt. Kronshtadt has thin plating but its citadel is decently protected. Stalingrads citadel is HUGE. If you have Moskva, then you know how Stalingrad will be. But with BB grade guns. And dont get fooled by the 2,65 sigma from Stalingrad - you will have bad salvos more than occasionally.

For some reason, i still dont think you understand my point, i try to make this as simple as possible: - I play HIndenburg. I want to rush a Montana which will bounce on my ENTIRE midsection if angled. So i use all my guns between his shots and angle in prior to him shooting. If i would be bow-on, he could citadel me. - I play Buffalo and see an Alsace. If that Alsace has no backup, i can rush him full speed bow on since he cant use AP against me. I dont need to worry about angling. the 1st one is good play in my book, as it rewards the time you need to learn to play the game properly. the 2nd one is just retarded and noone needs that. Good players could still pull it off, if they can bounce on the midsection, as shown with the Hindenburg. You dont need to tell me what i can or cant do. Its not about that. Its about whats possible by game mechanics. And we already disagree there - thats fine, i dont force you to see it the same way i do. I can just try to make you see the difference by showing you whats actually possible. Bad players dont learn to play because they dont have to! And thats the problem. If they dont want to learn -> let them have it. Currently, they are protected by game mechanics...

Your entire post was meaningless, as for some reason, you couldnt understand the word which i marked in BOLD and you read the exact opposite. I RUSHED THE 2 BBS BECAUSE THEY COULDNT OVERMATCH MY ARMOR AT ANY PLACE!! Better now?
-
Yamato cheek is easy to hit, because it presents a flat surface once you get through the bow. Other BBs dont have such a flat surface, so its harder to hit. Not to mention, Yamatos Citadel sits above the waterline, making it easier to hit in the first place. And i guess i just imagine rushing BBs in my Hindenburg, angling into their shells when they shoot... a Montana can overmatch my Bow, but not my midsection. I even did that to a good Montana player once. I didnt expect to actually do it, but he wasnt able to hit my bow while i kept turning in to his shells, so i finished him with torps. So you see, i cant take you serious if you say, angling doesnt get rewarded that way. I do it all the time. Hell, ive bounced entire kremlin salvos with my Minotaur SEVERAL times in Clanbrawl/CBs because they go for my Citadel. Kremlins pinpoint accuracy even favours me, as i dont have to fear getting randomly citadelled by bad dispersion. Its kinda funny tho, when your clanmates go "wtf" in discord and wonder why i didnt die
-
One more thing: I was Buffalo So me rushing an Alsace AND a Richelieu sitting next to each other in a Cruiser is a good thing. Not to mention literally killing both and not dying in the process. Ofc they could have killed me easily by loading HE. But is that really what we want from this game?
-
1. try to use as many anti-fire skills/flags/modules as possible. Best to use fire prevention, you wont get 4 fires, you will rarely get 3 even. 2. If the Myoko is wiggling, he will lose speed. If you only use your frontguns, you might catch up to him. Myoko only has 2 backturrets, thats the same as you have in the front. 3. crap happens, not always the case tho 4. Thats because of the skill of the players in question: Would you disengange from a Cruiser showing broadside? No, you can citadel him easily. But if the opponent is able to outplay you, then you gotta disengange. As i said earlier, he will turn around. And if you cant disengange because he is following you, then you already got him where you want him: Being bow on towards you. Turn around, he has no option but to turn aswell. And not to mention: Use island cover. You simply cant expect to win against a Cruiser only because you are a BB. Cruisers dont win against DDs either just by being a Cruiser. Often, they cant do anything against a DD on their own, because they cant spot it.
-
Ofc it does if you forget half of it down the line As i said, i want BBs to overmatch each others bow/stern, but not the midsection. That way, moving and angling into shells actually matters. You know, learn 2 play? Sitting bow in is not l2p, its going the easy way out because they can. At this point im just gonna say: And thats a good thing. As a cruiser main, i dont see a reason to be able to bowtank BBs. For me, thats just bad for the game. It takes no skill doing it, and the BB cant do anything about it. Well... load HE ofc. And the reason, why hightier Cruisers are so poor in aggressive open water play is: - They are HUGE compared to midtiers. - At the same time, BBs are much more accurate or have more guns. Those 2 points alone are enough, to make it much harder for a Cruiser to stay alive. Not to mention, their range grows even further making it possible to snipe you across the map. Something, which midtier BBs often simply cant do, or if they can, they wont hit you anyway. Angling should be rewarded - for both BBs and Cruisers. And not stupid bow tanking. Thats my point, but we can just agree to disagree on that one.

DPM difference between Fiji and Edinburgh
DFens_666 replied to SolanumTuberosumRex's topic in General Discussion
Back when we had old MM, thats how it felt like Fiji super strong in T5-7 MM which happened all the time. Edinburgh weak in T8-10 MM which happend also all the time. However, MM changed, and T7 sees T9 more often and T8 gets more T6. I think, Edinburgh is definetely better than it used to be, but not sure if its better than Fiji tier for tier. -
Average? well, IJN BBs are the oldest in the game, they have been through every meta change which happened in this game. Looking at all time stats doesnt help that much... Kongo cloes are quite decent for me. I ignore WR on all ships due to low sample size, and some ships have felt particulary cursed for me, funnily enough, those have been IJN BBs quite often... Fuso is behind a bit, but not really bad in itself. Nagato was very good, guns are the strongpoint. And while i didnt like Amagi, it still has better damage output than Richelieu and Monarch, which i have played recently.

For me that sounds more like work than actually playing a game: Someone is telling you what to do, and you do it -> work
-
They are only happen when we are all eating glue through a sippy cup Ofc totaly agree, but what are the chances of WG listening? Can we go below 0%?
-
Funnily enough, i didnt lose a single battle in Hipper against a BB. Granted, i didnt play that many games, but the 2 i lose were against an Akizuki and a Baltimore who was super lucky. Less than 1 sec later he would have been dead. And the Aki knew exactly what to do, there was no chance winning. Most BBs could be outplayed, since they kinda need to protect the cap from being capped or atleast block it afterwards. So they come into torp range, getting them killed. Sure, many Cruisers cant do it, because of the cap. Something like a Cleveland would have more of a fighting chance without the cap (thats why i consider 1v1s not telling much about ships strengths, and even less so if its about denying a cap which lets you win in less than a minute.) Id basicly say: If you are a good Cruiser player, you know what to do against them when playing BB. (goes ofc for every class interacting with one of the other, except CVs, they are mostly irrelevant, as its 99% dependant on the skill of the CV player). I dont run after a good Cruiser playing kiting away in his Zao or any other kiting Cruiser. You can only lose. However, you still gain map control by pushing him away. And thats the key to success: You dont have to kill him, use other means to win instead. If he understands to come back because he has to, you get him You dont seem to understand the problem of camping: Camping is viable, because they CANT be overmatched -> making them mostly safe in the process. And you cant take BB player seriously who cry about camping Cruisers: Them being pampered for YEARS is what made this happen in the first place. Ofc they cant understand that, because catching a Cruiser off guard in the open is basicly a dead Cruiser. Midtier Cruisers have much less issues operating in open water, due to BBs being much less of a threat. For making up the much better accuracy and often reload, Cruisers also get more DPM. But they are hardly capable of doing it open water.... yep, blame BBs, not Cruisers for this. If you make BBs overmatch each other, they cant just sit there doing nothing. Actively moving around, turning in to shots will make them take LESS damage than sitting bow on. Also those BBabies camp for every reason possible, you cant go by that. Also roflstomps happen regardless of game mechanics. Those people simply dont care at all or they have no clue because they have 400 games played.
