Why bother...? (doing missions for tokens)
DFens_666 replied to DFens_666's topic in General Discussion
Yesterday, i played more than i actually wanted to, just to complete the missions, and i was constantly ahead of the average amount of tokens i needed (hey, if id have gotten 1x140 out of the last 17 i would have made it easily) so i thought it could work out. Afterall, i just fell for WGs stupid mission design again. I got sucked in too deep at some point, so you feel obligated to finish it, because you already got most of it done. Thats why i didnt bother with London last directives. But now it kinda happened just because i played a bit more. the 2 games i played to get the last 2k BaseXP mission done. Hindenburg game was horribly unfun.... atleast the Henri game was fun -
Yeah used to be, but these days, doesnt even matter. I get rammed regardless of which side is winning or which ship is stronger/weaker. Ive seen people with full HP ram another BB who is burning down with 2k HP NO [edited]JOKE!!! True, maybe considering the HP left on the ships should influence the ramming damage. Yesterday i got rammed twice, because they simple dont give a [edited].

Cant go brawling anymore. Everytime they want to ram me.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
DFens_666 replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
First Henri game, guess its just garbage ... But man those teams... doesnt matter what you do, its either a win or a loss. In the Hindenburg game, 2 TX BBs kept hugging our CV. I had to flame them afterwards, what they plan was. Answer: "I have no plan" WELL THANK [edited]FOR THAT. WHY DO YOU PLAY THIS GAME AND NOT HELLO KITTY ISLAND ADVENTURES?!!? IT was perfectly winnable, the enemies had like 5-6 ships all with <20k HP, 2 basicly dying within the next 20 secs. But why do anything? why win? WHY EVEN TRY!?... NOPE -
Why bother...? (doing missions for tokens)
DFens_666 replied to DFens_666's topic in General Discussion
If there would be some meaningful use for the other 240 tokens i would actually do it. But like that, i might aswell just use what? 60k FreeXP tomorrow which has no value compared to 1000 Dubs? -

Need to correct that one here: With RN CLs, you can shoot at the superstructure of ships! Their fuse is so short, they can get penetrations there aswell. @Gebbly The problem with RN CLs is, that they are hard to play. You only have very little games overall, thats why you struggle with them. They are very strong - if you know what you are doing. well, Edinburgh is basicly a Fiji with better heal and bit better concealment. Neptune has bad concealment but better firepower and more torps. Minotaur has insane firepower and very good concealment. Out of them all, i enjoyed Edinburgh the least. Fiji, Leander and Mino are the best, followed by the Neptune. - Try to find spots, where you can shoot the broadside of enemy ships. Your damage output will plummet to almost 0 when you have to fight angled ships. - Some BBs have very weak armor, some rather are rather tough. The tougher ones are mostly germans and russians. But something like Fuso has also good armor with very little superstructure, while a Gneisenau has also good armor, but big superstructure which you can farm. Thats what you need to learn when playing RN CLs. Dont shoot targets where you will just waste your time. - Cruisers have little armor, you can shoot them everywhere, but you wont be able to citadel them all the time. Due to the shortfuse, you might not even reach their citadel ever, but you can dish out a lot of damage with just penetrating them. Here some of my vids i uploaded: Its all about knowing where to shoot. You can inflict absolutely ABSURD amount of damage to BBs in short time (like the mino game) when you know how to do it

Yeah, in the end, we only encountered Kidds (and Entys/Massas), Cruisers were changing a bit, mostly Eugens and Clevelands. Kidd is such a tough ship to kill, one time, i had 19k damage on it, and it was still running around with more than 9k HP!! Compared to other DDs, thats just so much more HP to chew through, especially when the DD knows what he is doing.

We played Enterprise Massa Edinburgh Lightning Worked good (15-2) but still, CVs were too strong overall. Atleast they felt more powerful than TX CVs in the other Clan brawl.
-
So basicly your solution is, instead of DDs being blown of the water, let Cruisers be the ones to get blown away by BBs. In general, Cruisers are far more prown to get deleted quickly when they are too close in an unfavourable position. Thats why they sit behind the island in the first place. You already answered, why Cruisers cant spot - they just die because everyone sees them in return. Like, a Moskva or Stalingrad can theoratically spot enemies, because everyone outspots them, and everyone shooting at them from open water would get spotted aswell, while having the ability to tank fire for some time. However, a DD getting out has a much better chance than a Cruiser, as the Cruiser cant get magically unspotted, as his concealment doesnt allow him to (unlike DDs). Turn broadside in a Cruiser, you basicly die.
-
Horrible... - Hows a DD going to torp a russian Cruiser, when most of them will be seen because of their shorter torprange? If you dont see the DD, you are basicly immune to torps. - Going wide on a flank as a DD, running accidently into radar range of a Cruiser will immediately trigger a response from those ships, even if they cant shoot you. But you are uncovered so... - People can shoot ships based on minimap spotting. Ive even shot unspotted DDs based on good guessing. If i get minimap spotting on top, would be much easier.

Youll be surprised to hear, that i mostly enjoyed playing with CVs during the testseason back then, and the 5x5 Clan Brawl last week The 4x4 Clan Brawl wasnt so nice tho, T8 CVs vs T8 AA are too strong. So aslong as its TX, it seems to work better.
-
As basicly being a DD newby (not even 500 in DDs ) i came to enjoy a no-CV basicly no-Radar (salem doesnt count) game in my Gearing couple of days ago. Its like inserting torps into places they dont belong But thats just something ive been saying for years: Radar is needed to keep good players in check. Even with radar, thats not an easy task, but atleast they have to play around it.

More and more old premiums available for coal
DFens_666 replied to Dongi_2018's topic in General Discussion
In terms of enjoyment, Marblehead is high on my shiplist tho. 7th placed by games played (5th if i add Omaha and Murmansk) Fiji no 1 was hell of fun Takao was both fun but also "had to" back with the ARP grind. Hipper was just had to play it to get ARP Takao. I still cant understand when i almost did 250 battles with that garbage can Missouri first FreeXP premium, enjoyed it a lot. Hindenburg first TX Roon i think that was just 150 games of grinding Then Marblehead, which overtook Neptune not long ago. So there also only 3 ships which i enjoyed more than Marblehead if we take battle numbers into account. And Marblehead is actually the one im still playing till this day. None of the other 6 ive really played much or at all in the last couple of years, except Fiji in Narai. You never know which ship you might come to like Nothing wrong with that in my book -
Its the only thing keeping me in the game

DFens_666 replied to Dongi_2018's topic in General Discussion
Leave my Marblehead alone !!! I think that tactic is bad. Better get those ships that you want. Why get T5-7 Coal ships, that you wont play? Also, the more ships you have, the less you can play each individual ship. I play for almost 4 years now, and i got 2 ships from SCs. So there is no use to count on it. Also, buying 8 medium crates on XMas wont yield that many ships. Since we can assume, WG will be releasing more and more premium ships over time, you probably wont catch up to that ever. Focus on highertier ships, or those, that might get removed. Those will be the ones, you will be getting last from XMas containers either way (highly likely atleast) -
And this is a game

IMO 10k would be enough. 1 Regrind is already more than the current LMs needed (100k XP, 8 million credits, 15k FreeXP, 15 wins, 40k base)
-
Nope, too late for that. You can get the next pieces with next KOTS tournaments. So i guess 1 more this year (again 8 items i think) , and the next after that in 1 year from now.

The problem is, they might become mandatory for CBs, and that kinda stinks for me.

The best way would be, if they were true sidegrades, not upgrades (or actual downgrades in some cases now...) Its probably not the easiest way, but sidegrades for 2 regrinds would be somewhat of a joke. So i expect them to be rather on the OP side.
-
Wait till they rework them with 0.9.5 to make them even more OP/necessary

Graf is a title, while August and Manfred are regular names. Graf Zeppelin was the name of a Ship. Graf Spee was the Name of a ship. However, the names of the persons were https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferdinand_von_Zeppelin https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maximilian_von_Spee While the names of the others clearly also are https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manfred_von_Richthofen https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/August_von_Parseval The equivalent for the TX CV would be calling it Freiherr Richthofen, while Parseval didnt have such a title in the first place.
