Man those poor BBs, especially Kremlin with only 237510 AP DPM I call for immediate reload buffs, lets say 20%? And while we are at it, lets nerf DDs, they have like 300+k DPM Before you start lecturing others about damage output, better learn how it works first maybe?

Whats 5% from 10.000 and 5% from 5.000 Then you see, why the most played ships are the worst in those categories Its close to that order: More games -> lower WR. And then there is still the problem with all-time stats, which includes all nerfs/buffs and meta changes. http://maplesyrup.sweet.coocan.jp/wows/ranking/20200502/eu_2month/average_ship_u.html If you look at the last 2 month stats Montana is last in WR, followed by Repu then Yamato. also you cant just look at any ship and conclude: That sucks and the next one is OP! Bourgogne is very limited access ship, and mostly only Unicums have it (all others got Stalingrad because is OP lol). Ohio is a bit less limited access, and even noobs can get it, naturally bringing the stats down. Thunderer is limited access, but not easy to play. Bad players can get it too. And a huge amount of players just seem to shoot HE 24/7, making it worse than Conqueror. If you play a lot, Ohio and Thunderer are not hard to get. as you can see from the last 2 months data, Thunderer fell behind Conq in WR. Why? more and more casual players got her, bringing the stats down + they cant play her. Conqueror is more idiotproof than Thunderer thanks to the heal.

Since Yamato is older than GK, it most likely has more players. Only players with more than 20 battles are in those numbers. wows.numbers has ~32600 Yamato players and ~31100 GK players with >80 battles in the rankings. So its quite safe to assume, the top 5% for Yamato include more players than for any other ship. Infact, the top 100 Yamato players have a better WR than the top 100 GK players. And then there are divisions and game changes over time... only WG has accurate numbers based on all factors.

Why not try it first in this meta and see what happens? (games/WR/XP/avg damage/avg spotting/survivability/avg shells fired/hitrate/avg potential) My Yamato games from this year, so couldnt be any fresher.

Thats the problem i dont really understand. We have so many ships these days, just pick on that suits your playstyle. Instead, 90% of the playerbase wants to either make a specific ship work because reasons (germans with GKs, Yamato because it existed) or they want to make every ship work. Basicly what that would lead to, is that every ship is becoming the same. And quite frankly: Most players will never be able to make every ship "work".

Stalingrad with range mod is the same as Venezia with Range + Spotter.

Henri is far from useless. You just cant sit at 16+km and dodge when shells are in the air, which was stupid to begin with. If you refer to CBs: That has nothing to do with the nerf, but with CVs, who are the one to blame for the Venezias. But with Venezias having all those things going for them, it makes sense to use them against CVs. CVs removed all variety from setups, it literally is - Hakuryu - Venezia - Maybe couple of Stalingrads, but can even do without i suppose - Here and there the occasional Halland Sure you always had more or less "optimal" setups before, but it wasnt as clear cut. Like Kiev meta on T8. Most clans didnt use those, even if it was superior. But they couldnt make it work, so it was worse for them. You cant really fail with Venezias and Stalingrads tho, just camp at maxrange. While Kievs atleast needed coordination and they were meant for pushing. CV basicly removed all ships relying on concealment (DDs), island cover (DMs), anti-DD ships (Radar Mino) and BBs, because CVs are superior to BBs, as they kinda have the same damage output, but can also spot the entire map at will. They only lack tanking power in return.

Overmatch has nothing to do with the penetration of the shells. Infact, Kremlin has more penetration than Yamato after ~11km
-
With that logic, you can defend anything... give both teams an a-bomb which kills all ships, its not unfair, both teams have one. Just to make a point ofc.
-
Go back to when we got Cossack for almost free: Easy directives + 89c to get it... the only time, WG got money from me. Now: grind like a crazy person for a T8 ship (yeah 140 kill ribbons? tons of XP and baseXP) no comparision to Cossack "grind". And 3500 Dubs are way more than 89c.

Or just go multifacepalm

See, i dont think Yamato is bad. Works perfectly fine for me, infact, its my 2nd best BB by damage, only second to Bourgogne. I pick Yamato, and if i just wouldnt want to play Thunderer and Kremlin, i would have picked Yamato instead. But more and more, since Thunderer and Kremlin simply do not hit for me, i might just stick with Bourgogne and Yamato. The problem is, Yamato works if you know what you are doing. If you dont well... then dont pick Yamato but play Kremlin? Thats the golden horse everyones been talking about? Why have any variety, if every ship needs to be viable regardless of skill level? Meanwhile, i enjoy Yamato, you keep on trying to convince WG to buff her Btw have you played Yamato lately? Its your highest damage BB and most avg kills on TX...
-
Yamato is not a bad ship. If its not for you, then there are enough option to play one that suits you. Quite frankly, if you want to play Yamato (because its Yamato) and make her work, you have to "git gud". One can not simply demand, that any ship suits everyones playstyle.
-
I think Yamato is fine, it just has a higher skill floor than the Kremlin. And Yamatos 460mm guns are still unique with the 32mm overmatch, regardless how accurate Thunderer/Kremlin/Ohio are. I prefer playing Yamato over Kremlin, it atleast hits where i aim.

Strange mystery of unknown origin
DFens_666 replied to anonym_hiiw5uZtBExP's topic in General Discussion
Well first of all, HE doesnt overpen ever, i guess you meant to say AP. Getting AP overpens is not RNG: - Every shell has an armor threshold, the minimum armor for the shell to arm the fuse. For Moskva its 37mm. If you hit armor thinner to it, you will get overpens. You can however hit thin plates of armor consecutively, which will also arm the fuse. F.e. Smolensk has 16mm plating and 70mm citadel armor. If he is broadside, you will overpen the 16mm armor, since your shell will never arm in the first place. If the ship is angled, armor gets thicker ofc. - Every shell has also a delay between arming and detonating. For moskva (aswell as many others) its 0.033 seconds. So your shell hits a plate of armor thick enough to arm it, then it will travel for another 0.033 seconds before it detonates. If the shell is still inside the ship, it will detonate inside the ship, causing a penetration hit (or a citadel if it detonates inside that area). But what happens, if your shell is so fast, that it will exit the ship on the other side? Well, then you get an overpen again. In this example, Moskva has extremely fast shells, and Smolensk is rather thin. You can hit the citadel, arm the fuse, shell continues, exits on the other side and detonates outside of the ship. Result: Overpen for you and not a citadel hit. Or you didnt hit the citadel in the first place, only hitting the thin plating above it (which is more likely i think) That Moskva shoots me, resulting in minor damage. Well, he aimed poorly aswell, but i was confident he cant harm me. If you know about this, you can use game mechanics to your advantage, however, its always a gamble and might backfire. . -
Well, hf when we get the italian BB line with SAP I mean, why would you want to shoot AP, bar a very few exceptions (close range BB brawl with devstrike potential would be one) SAP should probably be removed from the game, doesnt make those ships much worse. Talking about gimmicks, RN CAs are even more uninspiring to play compared to ITA CAs imo, even if you were to swap SAP with HE. Also we would get rid of Venezias literally be able to oneshot full DDs, which is also extremely dumb (everyone cried when BBs could do it, and they have even worse reload). reworking SAP sounds quite hard, maybe it would need a scale for the penetration, so that its not always the same regardless of range you are shooting at.

Strange mystery of unknown origin
DFens_666 replied to anonym_hiiw5uZtBExP's topic in General Discussion
Thats not good either, because Cruiser vs Cruiser fights would be kinda imbalanced then. Its like fighting a PR, which is basicly impossible to citadel with other Cruisers, unless you are a Stalingrad and the PR is in full turn to lift the citadel above the water (dunno what other Cruisers might be able to do it aswell in that scenario). Neither of those are citadels, if you wanted to imply that. -
Every ship with smoke can cap early against a CV - but all other Cruisers without a smoke cant... ive seen clans drive a smolensk in the cap and cap it too. Sure, if i could decide, id probably just remove all lines released since RN CLs - thats when the game started to take a nosedive with more and more gimmick [edited]. RN CLs sitting in smoke created a lot of toxicity back in the days, yet, these days most people say they are powercrept. With a few lines in the game, it still was more or less balanced. But it spins more and more out of control because WG needs new gimmicks to make people grind new lines / freemiums. If WG keeps releasing new ships, which are stronger than old ships, and then buffs the old ships in return, where will it end? With a-bombs?? Constantly buffing old lines due to powercreep will eventually ruin the game. Certain gimmicks are stupid (reloadbooster), or too many small gimmicks make a ship broken (SAP, Fuel-smoke, very agile, long-range, troll armor).

Suggestion: Allow up to 2 Capital Ships in Clan Battles
DFens_666 replied to ColaholicA's topic in General Discussion
Not really sure about that... this season is more and more about Venezias, so it wouldnt really have much effect there. Previous seasons, people would use Moskva instead of Stalingrad. But noone would use a Stalingrad instead of a BB. Also running Stalingrad only setups didnt make you invincible, there were enough ships that could easily deal with them, but a CV makes it close to impossible this season.- 29 replies

Contradicted yourself quite a few times there: Venezia is best at range. People say camping, they mean sitting behind an island. Venezia is camping in the back of the map, if you push it, it runs further till it hits the border where it starts humping it (believe me, ive seen it SEVERAL times by now). Stalingrad/Moskva are sniping across the map, yet Venezia with the EXACT same range is apparently not sniping across the map Totaly agree with that, yet, doesnt make Venezia less stupid.
-
Dunno about useless, they sure can deal damage even on lowertiers, just takes a bit time. Funnily enough, Venezia with Spotter and range mod gets the same range as Stalingrad Other than that, i agree with @Floofz that ship is beyond retarded... sure CVs are to blame for the current meta, but it only shows how dumb Venezia and SAP truely are. And people complain about HE spam HF when 3-4 Venezias unload their salvo and eat half your ship while you are bow on to them

DFens_666 replied to ColaholicA's topic in General Discussion
yeah because some clan tried it before, doesnt make it succesfull btw. Ive also seen 7 Harugumo setups before... It wouldnt make sense to run full Stalingrad setup, because it could be easily countered. However now with CVs, Stalingrad/Venezia mix seems to be a huge success and you basicly have to run it because everyone is doing it. The only difference is amount of Venezias. Some even try full Venezia.- 29 replies

Im not disagreeing with that, but there is a simple way to fix this: (and only adding a BB in the mix wont make DDs more viable either, because with a DD, you lack firepower) - Remove CVs Done Its entirely the CVs fault, that CBs evolved into Hakuryu Stalingrad Venezia the occasional Halland, maybe here and there a PR (which might be lack of Stalingrad) Its not about losing firepower, its about that those ships cant disengange or have less armor/health than others. Venezia can disengage from CVs with smoke, it can get caps too, insane damage potential with that SAP basicly 10-15k on any target and the armor is quite trollish. Also great range (with spotter its same as Stalingrad) and pretty fast shells. Stalingrad on the other hand has good armor, good shells and tons of HP + long duration DefAA. A CV striking a pack of Stalingrads will lose planes. A CV is able to reset or spot any ship in a cap, unless it has a smoke. That already limits the options quite a bit. Smolensk? No armor, no health, HE pen is bad against TX Cruisers. Mino? AP only, bad range, floaty shells, and again no armor with huge citadel. DDs? get spotted by CVs, cant do much else because they bring 0 firepower, even getting into torprange is often not possible with a CV, unless its >15km like Halland, Gearing, Shima. And even then, lack of firepower is still an issue. Halland is the only one, which atleast will cost the CV some planes if he is backing up other ships with AA.- 29 replies
