    Maybe its because you are also going to places where everyone else goes? Thats actually what i disliked about flamus position videos in the center: Its not about that position, its about to have the BBs spread out equally on the map. If everyone else goes to the border, you wanna be in the center. But if you tell them to go the center, then it doesnt work. You would then need go to the flank. Most of the time, i spawn center anyway (because divisions often spawn center), so i can be there, while my other BBs run to the flank. It does happen that they lemming towards you, but its a good chance, that they are so incapable that you would lose the game regardless. Dont get me wrong, i hate when many/all BBs come to me, but i dont think it happens all the time. F.e. the 2nd alsace game i showed there, it was only 3 BB game. I looked at my FDG, went left, Lion went right, so i stayed central at first. Helping on the FDG side, as majority of the enemy force was there. The FDG misplayed, by running towards me then, so enemies pushed in our direction and we didnt have crossfire anymore. At the same time, the Lion came also back to center, and we were basicly on the same spot. Luckily, we had caused enough damage by that time to not be in a disadvantage, and while my FDG still kept running, and my Lion also backed up, i rushed the center with 2 enemy DDs and the JB, killing one DD/getting big chunks on the other and ramming the JB in the end.

    First played 1,5 months ago, 2nd a few days ago. Having glue sniffing BBs following your butt is not exclusive to Alsace tho... atleast with Alsace, i can try to run away from them Even in my RN BBs, i rarely resort to HE shooting. I got frustrated with KGV shooting HE, and with Monarch i used AP more often aswell. I think people lack patience, so they dont get the shots they need to make AP work

    Yes and thats exactly the problem! WG did a huge disservice to the game with the RN BB line and their stupid HE. Average player probably doesnt understand, that RN BB = very good, most other BB HE = pisspoor, especially on german ships. RN BBs get away with it, because their HE is actually too good (combination of pen + damage + firechance, while the others usually lack 1 or 2 of those) But what ive observed lately here in forums: - More and more BBs start using HE - Complain about HE spam - Then start using HE in BBs, making the situation worse And thats the point i try to make, but people focus on an example i showed because "kremlin" I dont think any Cruiser has underwater citadels except Alaska and PR Wooster/Smolensk definetely dont have underwater citadels...

    Ill add my Henri game from yesterday as another example: Both teams basicly split equally on 2 flank on Heaven, only the enemy Shima got B cap (our division DD got C cap). But then the Shima actually went into our spawn, and got our home cap. Noone made any effort to stop this, so i had to rush back and kill it. Luckily, Henri can rush down DDs Then i got the Cap back, and went to the B cap, because enemies were couple of minutes away from winning while having 3 caps all the time. I only got 94k damage in the end, because i had no targets to shoot at but had to kill a DD and get Caps, so we had a chance to actually win the game. And we won the game in the last 20 seconds. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to keep the game alive, and that doesnt show you anywhere in the stats.. EXCEPT in the WR! I could have farmed damage on the enemy ships who were pushing the flank, but then we would have lost the game guaranteed because of points, and a shima running wild in our back.

    I definetly did not say that in my opening post! And as i already said, you cant remove HE. However, you could remove or heavily lower the firechance. BBs actually do not need that, instead, make the HE more equal for all nations.

    Actually i did to the Zao, as he started to shoot HE in my belt ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Thats atleast 0 damage, compared to possible pens into bow/superstructure Point was ofc, that there were 4 ships spamming me with HE, and what did it get them? Nothing... They even had "help" from a BB shooting HE at me. And thats no threat to me, i can just move as i please, because there was no AP threat. Show broadside? meh, i rather have my backturret

    Maybe WG should try HE without fires, instead make BB HE a bit more uniform across the board (german HE is so garbage, RN HE is OP). Lets face it, for the situations a BB should use HE, it doesnt need fires. Shooting a DD, you want alpha - not fires, because the fire damage is meaningless. We already have an ammo type for that, its SAP, however, with the way it is currently designed its way too strong and i dont like the possibility, that italian BBs will come with SAP instead of HE. A low effort ammo shouldnt produce better results than one, that needs some form of knowledge how to use it. HE often produces "better" results in form of damage (which in reality is more useless tho), but worse results for WR. It is sending the wrong message to players "you dealt good damage, but you lost" -> blame your team. No, thats not true. SAP is different. Due to the high consistency in damage output, there is often very little use in shooting AP. Only if you are sure, you will get citadels. For BBs this ofc remains to be seen, if itll be the same, however, i expect more consistent results to be better, than having a chance of a good/bad salvo. ok, lets just back up on that one, to me it sounds, like you want to defend BBs shooting HE based on my example. But as a russian BB, thats EXACTLY what it wants: focus him instead of the team. Other ships wont win those battles, yet they fight on its terms. Also implying, that those players actually understand the difference when to shoot HE and AP So you rather have the wrong type of ammo more often than the correct one? First one i agree, its blatant powercreep in my book. 2nd one, i thought it was always questionable, that DM has worse armor than the other TX CAs, and while true, that it made it harder for those in certain situations, i dont think those ships are useless only because Cruisers can bounce their shells. HE often deals more damage, but its useless damage aswell. Having a fire burn on a BB gets you like 10k+/- (tier, fire duration...), but that usually means 0 damage on the BB, as he can just heal that. Thats why i said further up, that it is sending wrong signals to the players. There is a reason, why Conq has the highest silver TX BB average damage. Very true, hate those missions since forever... atleast exclude BBs for that Id agree, we should give more ships a heal (just give some type of heal for everyone maybe). But cruisers on that tier often also lack that type of armor their TX brethren have. Zao/Venezia/Henri tend to have much trollier armor than the ones on T7-8. Dont focus too much on that kremlin part - as i said, i could have been any other ship (not only BB) they would have probably shot HE at me aswell. One game i observed in the end, where 2 GKs + a Repu on my team shot nothing but HE. Infact i think, all GKs i had yesterday only shot HE, atleast from what ive seen. Not to mention, Kremlin is also the most HE resistant BB due to the strong armor and short DCP CD. Also removing HE isnt really an option, but i want to show, when people complain about HE spam, and they shoot HE in their BBs, its making it worse for them. So they complain about themselves!
  8. But thats again different, as they tested it and introduced them. Contrary to radar not going through islands, which they didnt like. Between WG saying "no bigger guns than yamato/no subs" and actually introducing it went a couple of years. Why should they test radar not going through islands (which was last year IIRC). There is no reason for them to change that now. I dont even see a reason for them to concider reworking radar again. The first rework for me already showed, that they didnt really want to change radar, but only did it because playerbase kept whining... or we could say, it made radar actually stronger (radar range got buffed .f.e)

    And i guess shooting HE as a repu against a DM is also legit play. You missed the point btw. Also kremlin is pretty much known for being HE resistant. They would have been better off actually using AP even, but i dont need to care about angling when they only shoot HE (not to mention, they probably would have shot HE even if i was another BB, also any other BB will ricochet GK AP too) Point still stands: Only using HE in your BB will make it worse for BBs - not for Cruisers.
  10. Contrary to those, they tested radar not penetrating islands, and they didnt like it. So if they would have wanted to, they would have done it, but they said its not gonna happen after they tried it first. Thats a significant difference. Majority doesnt want subs majority doesnt want CVs in game Majority wants BBs to be masterrace (literally, with BBs being the most played class, and they want buffs for years). I dont think you would like a game, where the majority gets what it wants and throws balance out the window...
  11. But isnt that more a playerbase issue than an issue with BBs? As you say yourself, if the BB has backup, itll work. And with that i agree, ive done so myself. And i have no problem sacrificing myself for a win when playing BB. But that also depends on skill difference between you and the BB player. As you said yourself, you also have been killed at times. So both does happen. The biggest problem for me is, that BBs have a tendency to fail at closerange. Thats something i personaly dont like. But i think if you can take half a cruiser or more on 20+km, it seems to be "balanced". Cant have both imo. Yesterday i played alsace and pushed a ChungMu/Östergötland and a JB. Ask @Saltface, he was there. I didnt take any torp by faking turns several times. And killed the Chungmu in the process. Unless the DD gets a perfect torpvolley, he wont stop a BB from getting what it wants, f.e. an objective. He has to make room, otherwise he gets spotted. Atlanta AA is laughable at best right now. Ill summone @El2aZeR who knows all that AA stuff better than me. He is probably the best CV player, and knows all that stuff in and out, so i trust him on that. Well, as i said, that can have difference reasons. F.e. Smolensk is easy to play. And its a freemium, even if you do badly, you wont lose credits. Compared to doing badly in a Techtree ship, which usually costs you money. Atleast when you dont run premium account. German ships are played more on EU, as i said, because german playerbase is the largest. Other servers paint different pictures. French Cruisers were never popular, dont ask me why. To me, they are extremely strong from T8-10. Maybe its a skill issue, or people dont like them on lowertiers - no idea. Then enjoy Ive played 2 seasons radar Mino (not the last, because CV [edited]), and ive played TX Clanbrawl Radar (smoke when CVs were involved) Mino aswell. Next saturday is Clanbrawl again, and ill play Radar Mino. The thing is, it has an absurdly high skill floor and ceiling. But if you can harvest that potential, its one of the strongest ships around. Thats the reason, why Mino is an unpopular choice for competetitve: its easier to be good in other ships, the effort and skill needed is very high, to get more out of it.

    Ive limited games in a 2nd account, but the games outside of new player protection (75 games / max T4), definetely feel different than what i have on my main account. Like fires, its what i would expect, while i pretty much gave up shooting HE for fires on this account. Not really much use relying on fires, when i get 3 fires with >170 HE hits with my Donskoi yesterday

    I can honestly say without making stuff up: Like 9 out of 10 "questionable" results in BB vs Cruiser involves the enemy Cruiser playing being a) very new (<1000 games), b) very bad (low WR/PR) or c) both. It usually always goes the same way: 1. Cruiser broadside, i shoot, he doesnt dodge, i get 3-4 overpens 2. next salvo, same thing happens, same result 3. Next salvo same result. You can occasionally sprinkle some ricochets in there, which are questionable aswell. 4/5. salvo is usually the one i finally get citadels. Just had a Roon yesterday, had like 42% WR and <300PR. If you dont believe me, ask @ForlornSailor we often talk about stuff like that, and it happens to both of us. Meanwhile, i show broadside, i ALWAYS!!!! get a citadel when im not in such an angle that i can bounce. Again, yesterday playing Donskoi: Getting shot at by BB, shell doesnt hit me BOOM citadel. Not long ago, wasnt angled enough, next citadel. The best way to not get citadels, is to not get hit at all. Playing Cruiser is like citadel heaven for me, one bad move i get spanked back to port. Meanwhile, others can derp broadside forever and dont get punished at all. Sure one way to ruin the game btw, as it will actively make the playerbase worse, if thats actually true. But ive seen a lot of players believing in newb/noob bonus...

Feels questionable to me, that you guys think that i dont have a clue about the game I dont claim, that the 200+ HE hits in Hindenburg solely went on non-burning / inactive-DCP ships, but somehow saying, that its "normal" is pretty far fetched imo. Sure there were hits on burning parts, i got one fire afterall (). and maybe some when a target had DCP. But getting 12 fires with 100 hits also includes, me hitting ships which had DCP active or fires burning.
  15. Just want to point out a few things which i heavily disagree with: Why should this actually be a thing? Why should BBs be able to push in against a superior force and win/survive or ??? (serious question, not sure what the outcome should be). I mean, you can try pushing in with a DD/CA/CV, see how long you survive compared to a BB. If Cruisers wouldnt stop a pushing BB with HE fire, for sure a DD should do it. Seems to me, that they arent necessary capable of doing it, since people blame Cruisers as the pushing-barrier. Which is interesting, because DDs should counter BBs? And then i disagree with being able to push midgame, it entirely depends on the situations. Hell, you can push early game through your flank if the enemy is weak on your flank. Its still best to have a BB upfront, as there is no reason for any ship to give ground to a pushing Cruiser (bar DDs). The pushing order is BB>Cruiser>DD. A DD is simply incapable of stopping a push, as it has no HP and no armor. 1. Many of them cant do it alone. The others that can do, usually need skill to be able to do it (or lack of skill on the BB part). Either way, it takes so long that the BB actually can run away and heal up. 2. Most cant, as you need Radar 3. BBs tend to have equal (or even better) AA, and if we take fighter planes into consideration, they definetely have the best AA available. You cant force people to play all ships. If they are happy with what they got, what you gonna do? F.e. Hindenburg is overrepresented on EU server because germany is here, and Hindenburg is a german ship. Zao and Henri pretty much fill the same role, but they keep playing Hindenburg. Zao isnt underplayed imo. http://maplesyrup.sweet.coocan.jp/wows/ranking/20200613/eu_2month/average_ship.html almost 900 players with 65000 battles last 2 months. Mino is close, only Henri is lacking. Why the french cruisers are so uninteresting for the playerbase - dont ask me. But Henri got nerfed not long ago, and most people made a huge outcry over it, which wasnt justified. Henri was superior open water gunboat Cruiser, and it still has the better firepower compared to the others (maybe except Venezia). Smolensk is clearly number 1 (having a quick look). Let them play it, they think its some kinda OP p2w ship, while in reality, its not. Doesnt even have 49% WR anymore last 2 months. It has 0 utility, it is good at one thing only: Sitting in smoke, farming BBs. Well, doesnt win games btw, but people see 300k+ vids on YT and fantasize how they will do that aswell (if they ever), and many of those 300k games are even losses, becuase its useless damage farming. To me, most TX Cruisers are viable. The biggest clash right now for me is Hindenburg vs Henri. Hindenburg is a jack of all trades, and these suffer nowadays. You want specialized ships, which excel in certain areas. Henri does that better. Venezia aswell. Zao atleast has very good concealment and long torp range, which is a bit more unique than the others. Radar Mino is one of the most unique ships in the game (could be said about smoke mino too, but not that special maybe). DM is always a solid pick, and the new russians arent bad either. Wont include freemiums, as they skew the picture, by having favourable economy boni. That could be one reason people prefer to play those aswell. Playing TX with non-unicum stats costs money, most people cant maintain that. They can with freemiums.

    So basicly what you are saying is, that people can deal twice the amount of damage on average in basicly any ship dont deserve to win more? And thats only talking damage, which is not necessarily the best indicator, but ontop of that, they also survive much more, hit better, understand how to win games (surviving, capping, killing) yet you claim they are more lucky? I can give you the teammates i had yesterday, you would probably cry how MM is rigged against you. Oh look, enemies are spread out equally across the map, especially the BBs. Meanwhile, 3 came to cuddle on my spot being absolutely useless, the other is driving up the 1-line, dying to the Colorado ofc. Oh wait, could it acutally be, that my teammates are not better than yours? (maybe apart from the guys i take into my division - which noone is stopping you from doing btw)

    Maybe we should ask yesterdays Thunderer, who basicly had full HP while being 2nd last alive (other was me in a Donskoi) while he was permanently HE slinging from spawn / 20km. Yes, he even made first place, but we literally had no BBs = No mapcontrol = we lost. But it was rather close in the end, so even that guy using his HP (or probably AP) at some point during the match would have maybe gotten us the win.

Arguably the only one is smoke, which interfers with your vision, as you cant spot other ships, while at the same time, noone can spot you either, so its not really a drawback. Maybe the drawback for radar Cruisers is accounted for in balancing? Cant possible be ofc, they just have Radar ontop i suppose

    I shot a fullspeed unspotted DD behind a smokescreen gunboating my BB and hitting him Also at OP: Sure why not, i want to see my recent ~78% WR, stroking my e-peen But the chance that someone was noobing around for 15k battles and then suddenly gets 64% over 2k battles seems really far fetched. Unless that person was somehow sealclubbing below T5 (hosho maybe), which actually doesnt make him a good player at all.
  21. Yep, 100% agree with this one. Today in Donskoi hmm yeah, 178 HE shells 3 fires... sounds viable. Then i see bad/new players get 4 fires with 3 salvos in like 20 hits LOL, with a -2tier ship Ofc people dont get punished, i get a fire, they insta DCP. I farm them for a minute till they run out of reach. Totaly not a misplay, but WG wont let me punish it. At best i farm them so long till their DCP is back up again, then they get a fire, and WOOP DCP again

    Yes, happens ofc, but you can also get 10k,20k,30k... even more. BBs are on average still the highest damage dealing class. Played some games today too, BBs among those If we ignore the Massa (which basicly was a game where i couldnt do anything as we just won since the enemies camped in spawn on my flank, and moving up would have caused instant suicide in TX MM with CV and a Slava focusing me). Even taking that bad Massa game, BBs beat my Cruisers in average damage. If we would exclude the outlier (massa) it would be even more in favour of BBs.

    Is the Premium Shop Bugged ?

    Interestingly, i found out the cause for this: My internet provider decided to ban certain stuff (russian?) from accessing through their DNS server, which caused me not being able to read Forum or patch my game. I tried on my phone (different provider) and forum worked instantly. So now ive switched to google DNS and it works again. Meanwhile i already deinstalled the game because i thought it was WG [edited]up, since it happened on patchday.
  25. This. People can call me tinfoilhat, but im sure there is some type of newbie protection. Does it make sense? Yes ofc. You have a person, putting 50-70 bucks for a ship in your game when he barely played it. Do you wanna scare him away by getting him easily killed by experienced players? ofc not, you want more money from him. So you give him "training wheels" so he wont get blapped out of existence that easily. I think, that protection lasts like ~1500 random battles. Ive seen many people start to complain (f.e. on forums) about rigging around that time. Could make sense, as it was rigged in their favour previously. Im currently also teaching a guy, who has reached 2000 battles and is more and more frustrated about the game, because he says he keeps dieing instantly. thats a game with my 2nd account lately in Tenryu... yeah, 100 HE shells 12 fires. Id like that firechance with my main account Ive had a Hindenburg game this year with 200+ HE hits and 1 fire In case someone doubts that
