Thats not an arguement b) thats your opinion c) Again, so are atleast a dozen things, 1 (soon to be 2) entire classes of ships d) actually radar NOT going through islands removes all counterplay for DDs. You can feel like rushing in like a madman, but with the Cruiser gets spotted and you are inside his radar, hf having "counterplay". IF you remove radar going through islands, then you have to stay outside radar range at all times

    Maybe the differences comes from looking at T8 and 10 only (as stated above the graph), which i wanted to point out, but it didnt land If you only look at T8 and 10 RTS CVs, ofc you get lower numbers, because T7 and 9 existed back then. T7 was more popular than T8 and T9 more than T10. But now people cant play T7/9 anymore, so they "have to" play T8 or 10.

    I guess that happens when you ignore all of the battles with T7+9 CVs? Both tiers in RTS times had higher population than T8 and 10 respectively, but lets ignore it, now that they all have to play T8 and 10
  6. I also cant understand, why anyone would want a change, that makes it worse for both Cruisers AND DDs. So that BBs and CVs (and Subs) can laugh even harder sitting in the back? Doesnt sound particulary fun to me...

    Yep, guess i was wrong. Also, Nürnberg doesnt have turtleback Funnily enough, the 50mm plating almost excludes all BBs the Nürnberg can see. Apart from lucky below water citadels, its actually immune. Scharnhorst is the only BB with <300mm caliber. And ofc angling negates that effect. Which actually doesnt make sense, is that Nürnberg has 19mm torpedo bulges and 50mm armor belt right ontop of each other. Yet they count as 2 layers Overall, it doesnt really matter that much... Königsberg/nürnberg, lowtier frenchies and i guess Ryujo might be the only ones profitting from that.

    Oh sorry, i didnt know that they claimed that... interesting Thats something i really disliked and i wouldnt even call it a "global nerf". That was a straight nerf to a Premium ship, to justify Cruisers being able to hurt each other without IFHE, while making BBs on the same tier immune (T7 CL vs T8 CL/BB). And did it change anything? Nah, BBs whine more than before about HE spam... well duh, maybe many CLs dont spec for IFHE anymore to get those constant fires.

    I think there is enough evidence, that this is completely made up (super light Cruisers) even if WG would see it the same way. Is Minotaur in the same group? But it has 152mm guns, yet its armor indicates it would be. However, Fiji is in the same branch with the same guns, but actually has 19mm central armor But British CLs were exlcuded from all changes. There is no clear line indicating, what a Super-CL would be. Smolensk/Colbert and Mino/Neptune yes, all others arent, but its not tied to maingun caliber. Atlanta/Flint should be aswell, but they arent, same with Svietlana and Krasny Krim, which actually have thicker plating than all of the others with similar guns (except the british). Ontop of that, they never used a word like Super light Cruiser. They stated they reserve the right to nerf special ships - and so they did. Why call it a global nerf? A "global nerf", that only hit 2 special ships ... If you call that a global nerf, then they basicly could nerf any premium ship, as long as they make some stuff up which fits that ship + any other. If WG says, they reserve the right to nerf special ships - im fine with it. If WG says, they wont nerf premium ships but then nerf them anyway, its not fine. If they start making up things to nerf premium ships to make it look like a global nerf , it would also not be ok. The best thing would be, to not release premiums which clearly arent balanced to not have that mess, but thats not what they want at all. They want "OP" premiums, to shovel them into XMas boxes for extra

    So why didnt they buff Atlanta? Certainly falls into the same category. And on T4 you have Svietlana with 130mm guns running around with 20/25mm central plating (which actually is interesting, since it should be 16mm? according to the list) As i wrote to @CptBarney , you are giving WG freedom to nerf any ships they want like that. Just make something up which conveniently targets the ship you want to nerf.

    The nerf was directly targeted towards special ships Smolensk and Colbert. Not one other ship was nerfed the same way, thus its not a global nerf. You think, WG could get away by nerfing 2 Premium ships that way? Lets say, GC and Georgia both get their Dispersion nerfed. Would you say "ok, its a global nerf, they can do it"? Hell no, there would be a HUGE outcry (rightfully so) since its not a global nerf.

    I don think they are. Premium ships are Yellow symbol with a yellow rim - special ships are white symbol with yellow rim. Special ships - all TX Premium ships - all others

    So a nerf only hitting 2 freemiums is a "global" nerf? Not to mention, all other Cruisers got actually buffed. No, that was not a global nerf - that was a nerf to Colbert and Smolensk directly. No silver ship was nerfed the same way they were. Infact, no other ship was nerfed at all.

    Do they secretly just change stuff as they go or do they make stuff up? Certainly not what i learned before... Might do some testing, but with underwater shells its hard to prove anyway

    thats the weird thing in wows: armor just adds up till its "enough". Also the 19+50mm are 2 layers on top of each other anyway, unlike french Cruisers which have empty space between them.

  20. Let me tell you what the real problem is: After not playing for a while, i didnt exactly know what was going on in randoms, till i played again this week. And despite many of us claiming, it cant be getting worse, it actually still keeps getting worse. Many people have been claiming, that BB AP doesnt work anymore, and that BBs are crap, and Cruisers are OP and HE spam is OP and whatnot. Nothing really changed for Cruisers. We got a line without HE, then a pretty mediocre CA line (RN), which noone really plays anyway and now we got russian Cruisers, which have an absurd AP performance that you should use AP anyway. But the real issue isnt Cruisers spamming HE, they have always been doing that. The actual problem is, BBs starting to shoot NOTHING but HE. It was hard to watch today, as basicly every BB, except the one in my division, was basicly shooting nothing but HE, and they did that from the last corners of the map. Imagine a game where every BB would be a Conqueror sitting spawn, only that they dont have all the thermonuclear HE that they have. Sounds fun? Yep, clearly. But by doing that, they allow Cruiser to survive the entire game, which is EXACTLY what Cruisers need to have a game influence (except those carrying Radar to stop DDs). Cruisers are pressured by BBs, when they cant maintain an angle against them all the time, and these days, against the larger ones aka >430mm, angling doesnt matter anyway. But if you remove that huge AP threat, by putting HE BBs in its spot, the Cruisers get MUCH more freedom. They can literally show broadside and get away with it. They can make full turns and run away. Or they can shield themselves from that one last BB which is still using AP, while the BB which has the broadside of the Cruiser keeps pummeling it with HE for 5k damage every 30, and getting that "awesome FIRE DAMAGE". Newsflash btw, Cruiser receive like ~5k damage from a fire at TX (+- couple of hundred, depending on max HP), and they come with heals. And they have only 1 minute DCP CD. So a Cruisers get 2 fires, he DCPs, until the next salvo from the BB comes in, the DCP CD is already 20-30 secs in, even if he gets more than 1 permafire, a heal will negate the damage of ~1,5 fires (a bit more even). Not to mention, he can also heal 50% of that HE alpha, compared to 33% citadel damage (most Cruisers atleast). This happens, when your BBs camp in the last corner, and shoot nothing but HE. ALL!!!! enemy Cruisers are alive. (14 minutes into the game) "But im getting burned to death", well ofc you are, because when YOU shoot HE all the time, you let the Cruiser escape. He wont have to fear you. He will shoot a target which he can reach and is a threat to him. I was literally shocked during that game + some others today, as almost all BBs from one side (some games even BBs from both sides) kept shooting HE and nothing but HE. Doesnt matter what they were, GK, repu, Thunderers anyway.... so everytime you or a BB decides "[edited]it, im gonna spam HE aswell" it will make it worse and worse. Not to mention, if all BBs keep slinging HE at each other ontop of the Cruisers, you oversaturate the DCP management. Result is, you are getting burned to death when you are in reach of most ships. Spamming HE in BBs doesnt make it worse for Cruisers - it makes it easier for them, while at the same time, making it worse for BBs. I rest my case. No wait, here is one more Me playing Kremlin getting HE farmed by atleast 4 ships (including BBs). Also me using AP to kill those HE spammers. They died - i didnt. Atleast one of them had the decency to shoot AP, might have been the Kremlin...

    Thats too simplistic, and partially not correct: Nürnbergs armor layers: The outer layers are already 69mm, which is enough for Fuso to arm its shells.(also impact angle has an effect too) But Nürnberg is rather thin AND has a turtleback. Either way, the shell exists the ship before it detonates, but not inside the citadel. But the shell will arm even if its flat broadside. 8km for a Nürnberg is probably too close, only chance is at the front turret where it has no turtleback. If you are further away, shell will pass through the turtleback and detonate inside the citadel.

    The replay file for GK is literally called "Grossdeutschland" Btw that was the original name for GK, but WG changed it (after complaints?)
