  3. You are always aiming at the island tho, even if the ship is being targeted. The game only "knows" that you want to shoot the ship behind the island, when you are locked on. If the ship is gone, it doesnt know that you want to shoot behind the island.

    Easy fix? Change HE on BBs. They are the core issue (made a topic about that last week). BBs spam HE = oversaturate DCP on other BBs = doesnt hurt Cruisers the same way AP does = Cruiser survives longer = farms more fires = BBs complain about HE spammers But when you have people claim "AP doesnt work" so what you gonna do? I guess they are only happy, if every BB salvo devstrikes an enemy ship
  5. Remember that max dispersion always depends on the range. Same dispersion but higher range = more max dispersion.
  6. from what ive seen, it literally doesnt work at all, so better think it has none. I did a driveby on an Ägir in coop (with an Ägir) at 2km and got 3 cits.. if it doestn work at that closerange without turning, then it wont work at all imo. I think that turtleback is even a lie on Ägir?
  7. I got it, and i think its interesting: A BC with good armor and torps. Yes, doesnt have turtleback, but i dont really rely in german Cruisers on it 100% anyway. With all those 457mm caliber BBs, going into a brawl with Hindenburg might not even be possible depending on the BB. Ägir actually can do it, because the midsection can bounce those shells.

Had the same thing happen to me: first turret made it over the island, all other turrets hit the island like where i would have hit if there would have been no lock on... its really annoying that you lose lockon instantly, especially since sometimes you need several seconds to actually get a lockon in the first place. Who doesnt know that? Looks at target "cmon, X it you stupid game... FINE ILL DO IT FOR YOU..." unmarked because when you clicked, it got auto-lockon and then you disabled it and now it takes a second again till you can re-lock. I even managed to do to it like that, first turret shot -> rest followed, in between, target lockon was lost. Not to mention SEVERAL times when i shot, target got unspotted and lockon was lost so all turrets shot the island. which is way worse than the first thing, as this happens so rarely. I think the poll should be: should the lockon stay for 1-2 seconds after the target is unspotted? as it used to be like that. I think it was better.

    See, thats quite weird, and not something i personaly have experienced lately. Ill share some screens: + 1 donskoi game is missing which had 1 DD in it. I think the average is more than 2DDs per game, sure you can say, i basicly always have my own DD in my division, which guaranteed atleast 1 DD. But normaly there is more than 1 DD. 2 / 3 / 3 / 4 / 2 / 2 / 4 / 4 / 2 / 3 / 1 = 2,7 DDs on average, which is close to what it should be by the numbers? (slightly more maybe... ~20% vs 22,5%)

    Thats an interesting point, which i covered some time ago, where i basicly called WoWs being more like work or a chore than something you play 4 fun. In the end, they tell us what we should play, to run after the next thing they are dangeling infront of our heads. I decided to break that chain and simply not participate in that grind-work any longer. I have too many ships which i cant play. But i guess its one way to keep the playerbase active and engaged in the game, by constantly giving them something to do

If id have to answer, if players are having fun, id say 50%+ of the playerbase cant have fun regardless of what ships they play, just by the way they "succeed" (more like fail). For all i care, then let them play Cruisers. If they think its more fun, shouldnt be a problem right?

    Would be nice if there would be a way to do it... except making a fake account and lowering the WR by playing like crap On the same subject: Just look at sub 50% Streamers on twitch. With what those people get away with is absolutely incredible. I mean, driving perfect broadside with a Moskva at all times racking up more potential damage than super unicum moskva players is quite an achievement in my book. I know what happens when i show too much broadside, its guaranteed citadel (assuming that they hit me ofc)
  13. Also its not like, Cruisers having the short end of the stick for YEARS pretty much? And then you have the Cruiser vs Cruiser interaction, which used to be better... having BC spots aka BCs matching other BCs would help a lot. Reminds me of that insane game, where we had DM/Hindi/Zao and enemies had Stalingrad/Moskva and PR. They have like double the health and much better tankiness.
  14. No i didnt. Why is it always, that a Radar Cruiser is safe behind an island, but the DD cant be safe behind an island either? Apparently, that works only one way for who knows what reason. Thats your subjective opinion. Not to mention, you dont really play BBs, do you? Also i think its fascinating, how Cruisers are too powerful, and later you say "BCs do many things better than BBs", so how are Cruisers OP then? BBs are still best damage dealers BBs are best tankers Average kills? BBs Venezia is the only cruiser beating a BB to highest survivability (which indeed is a joke imo, Venezia has too much going for it). Despite that however, BBs can also claim highest K/D for themselves. If we look at average numbers It looks even better for BBs Basicly first in everything, except EXP, capture and defense. And they all make sense ofc: You get easier/more XP for killing DDs, its a Cruisers job to kill them. No surprise there Capture: Cruisers are more stealthy, can often get to a cap before BBs. ITs like the same arguement, why CVs "cant" cap. They arent physically incapable of doing it, but a teammate will cap before them. Defense: Same again, Cruisers fight DDs, which are prime cappers. And they shoot more often = easier to reset. Meanwhile, BBs have high damage, more kills, better KD, survive more often, tank more and even SPOT more!

    enemy bot runs away in coop games

    Bots have some weird way of fighting these days, some (? all?) want to engage specific ships. Ive had incidents, where the entire bot train ran to the border, because a human DD went there I think it was that map even, i spawned where you did, all bots ran to 10 line because our DD camped there...
  16. Its 100% Correct, that you cant see a ship inside your smoke screen. Why should you? You cant be seen either. The only way to see a ship inside/outside/through a smoke screen is by shooting. BBs have a huge smoke firing penalty, like 15+km. Cruisers are ~5-14km, and DDs <4km. Example: - a BB is 10km from your smokescreen while you are a DD. BB fires -> you see him. You can fire at him, but remain unspotted - a BB is 5km from your smokescreen, while you are a Minotaur. BB fires, you see him. If you fire at him, the BB can see you aswell.

    well its only 7 games, maybe just bad luck? I mean, if you can make JB work, i dont see how you would struggle with Bourg My Thunderer and Kremlin feel equaly weird for the first game... dont hit anything. Latest game with Kremlin i played was finaly better, but occasionally i still felt a bit trolled (yoshino flat broadside <12km no cit ) Sometimes it just goes away if you play a ship more often^^

    I also have better Hitrate with JB, but since you tend to shoot more shells with Bourg, it will make up for it. According to proship, i fire 266 shells on average with Bourg, and 166 with JB. And with the hitrate i get 85 hits/battle with Bourg (32%) but only 58 with JB (35,23%).

    50% more guns and better speedboost? I think the 0,1 sigma difference hardly matters, having more guns will easily compensate for that (and more). @ OP Stalingrad is really not much fun to play in randoms. Unless you enjoy being focused from everything, then go for it Shikishima is just a Yamato... in worse Bourgogne is hilariously fun, very strong (id actually say OP), and pretty unique. You can compare it to your Alsace, just imagine it being better (more accurate, better speedboost, MBRB)
  20. So you go into a cap and are behind island cover, you dont see a radar Cruiser. The Radar cruiser pops radar, because he knows you are in the cap, but he didnt see you directly and he can only do it, because his radar goes through islands. First of all, you are safe from the radar cruiser himself, because there are islands between you and him. And if you do it correctly, you are most likely safe from almost all of his teammates aswell. Now that the Radar Cruiser used his radar, you can actually move away without having to fear radar for the duration of the cooldown. If radar doesnt go through islands, what chances will you have to be behind cover from when the cruiser radars? none, because why would the cruiser ever radar unless he is spotted? Sure, it would work in the beginning, until people understand the concept (which is a valid reasoning to be against it btw, and people would rightfully complain). But after some time? Not to mention, good players in the first place. And what does actually happen then? The team from the radar cruiser will shoot the DD, INCLUDING the radar cruiser, while the enemy team will shot the Cruiser. So it is bad for both sides, the DD cant bait Radar anymore, the Cruiser will receive focus fire. Good for BBs atleast, guess they need it.. And then there is also the case, in where you get suddenly radared while being in cover. You can stop and wait till the radar is out. But if Radar doesnt go through islands, you dont get the warning before, and you come out of island cover being radared. This is even worse for DDs, less so for the Cruiser. Radar yes, hydro shouldnt actually be. Basicly every cruiserline could use hydro, but italians cant, so the chance of having a hydro ship is smaller then before their introduction. But as i said, DefAA is useless, i dont use it on any ship anymore, if i can use hydro ofc. And we hardly have more Cruisers per game than we used to.

    You dont have enough games yet, aslong as you are below 75 games, you have protected MM, but it also ends when you get to T5. In protected MM, you even have bots in there.

    Stat Shaming Rule Clarification Request.

    I think it should be quite clear, but sadly it isnt: If i post someone stats without any evaluation - GOOD OR BAD! - its not statshaming. If i just post someones stats, how is it "statshaming" unless i actually call him bad/noob or whatever while doing it. And the same goes for being called (division) statpadder/elitist or any other thing. But thats ok ofc, since its targeting good players I dont see, how stating facts can be shaming. If you in any way insult the person however, than its shaming. I think clear rules would be better.

    IFHE is a bad choice! (for CL T8+)

    While i agree in general with you, i dont 100% agree with the HE vs BB stuff. - Saturation is a thing. You dont have to farm long on the superstructure to get half pen damage. Yamato/Izumo have 32mm upper belt, which is an entirely different section, and can be farmed aswell (Izumo even has 32mm at the frontguns IIRC?). Ofc you can ask the question, how well do you hit that on longerranges with those floaty shell arcs from CLs. But at the same time, you also get to shoot Bow-on BBs, which as you said yourself, often do have 32mm bow armor, so you can get pens there aswell. - Farming fire damage often produces more damage, because the ship survives longer. Doesnt mean its better. Conqueror also has more avg damage than other TX BBs. Ive seen smolensk replays on YT, where the person keeps farming fire damage on BBs, but the BBs actually dont die, so its pretty much useless. I think its stupid that 180mm is essentially worse than 155mm or equal to 152mm guns. It should pen 38mm aswell. And CAs should pen atleast 38mm aswell. At this point, i dont understand why we need some stupid rule (which differs as they see fit anyway), and instead give every ship/line a specific pen and be done with it. Why does it need to be 1/6 1/5 or 1/4? Ofc they dont want to give certain ships 1/4 pen, because suddenly they could pen like 50mm which they dont want. But if you would assign a fixed value, you could do it and leave a specific threshold out of it. Im literally incapable to get permafires, so i rather stick with alpha damage because i have to... i have like 16,17? witherers...
