Secondaries aim at the center part of the ship (basicly at the citadel). If they are broadside, and you are too close, you will shatter everything in their belt. You can only hit the superstructure to deal damage, but if the Secondaries are too accurate, they wont accidently hit it. Angle makes a difference distance makes a difference if the conditions werent the same in the training room, then thats why the outcome was different.

I think its more about the playerbase being incapable to play properly. A TX game today, and the enemy BBs were super aggressive - but they pushed 1by1, and the Cruisers camped in the back. At some point, all BBs were dead and only Cruisers were alive now running away from our BBs. If the Cruisers would have helped their BBs in the push, they might have won the game. Pushing is just harder to coordinate and usually needs more than just 1 guy going in to get slaughtered. And there is the problem: The playerbase doesnt understand that.

an idea for the CV spotting problem
DFens_666 replied to elblancogringo's topic in General Discussion
DDs atleast have to give something up for being good spotters: They are the worst in dealing damage. CVs however, are the best damage dealers AND the best spotters in one. Would BBs be balanced, if they could just kill DDs at will and have the same damage they have now? -
Now explain to us, why your skill in RTS CVs would matter when playing reworked CVs? Also @El2aZeR has basicly the same WR in RTS and new CVs... and what about players who have better WR in new CVs? First of all you would need to define a poor ship. Is it a poor ship because it really is bad, or only because many people cant play it properly? Which also includes, who decides if a ships is poor? F.e. without a doubt, many people would say, Marblehead is trash. But i think its one of the strongest T5 Cruisers (apart from Murmansk). The firepower is basicly unmatched at that tier, but the price for that is having literally no armor.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

Got reported aswell for playing rada mino today When you play an oversized DD which snacks real DDs for breakfast Also who said, you need a lot of damage to get nice XP? Took me 3 Radars to get rid of them all, then the game was over already -

Basicly never. If you drop a fighter for your unspotted DD, its like a big sign saying "hello, here is our DD". The CV just has to wait a minute but he knows where the DD wants to go. I dont drop fighters on my DDs, and when i play DD, i dont want fighters ontop of me either. I might occasionally drop them, if i can do it without making a detour, and the enemy CV is attacking that target aswell. Unless i need that fighter elsewhere in a moment, so dropping fighters at the start of the game is not worth it.

an idea for the CV spotting problem
DFens_666 replied to elblancogringo's topic in General Discussion
Too confusing. You could have 2 ships next to each other, one being normaly spotted by ships, the other spotted by planes, depending which one you shoot, you would have a good/bad result, but you cant know which one is the better, but you probably will know it after you shot. Minimap spotting would be much better solution. -
I think you should worry more about yourself, dont look at what your team is (not) doing. So you can focus on how you can improve youself. Especially CVs have such a huge potential, but if you cant use that potential, and the enemy CV can do it better, you will lose more often (on average). The problem to me looks like, you are just attacking any ship. But you have to focus one, and kill it. If you just chip all ships down, you wont decrease the firepower of the enemies. That both DDs are still alive is already a bad sign. You want to get rid of DDs first, because they can cap, spot, torp and are easy targets to kill. Here an example from a recent game i played in sprint with a CV 1. Attack on Benson, wasnt quite enough, so i went in a 2nd time with rockets 2. went for the Tallinn, because he was radaring my DDs. Got a 4x Citadel on him, and the spotting did the rest to kill him 3. The Lightnint was close to the Tallinn, which also got shot at by my team when i flew over to strike the Tallinn, went there to finish the job. 4. Wichita was sneaking up behind on me, i didnt actually need to drop him since my team would have killed him for me, thanks to my spotting. 5. Took the rest of the game to finish the Amagi which was border humping his way towards me. Lucky bastard didnt get one flooding from torps, so it took quite a while to get him down. Also i see, you dont use any fighters - atleast not for those purposes which they could be useful for. Spotting DDs for yourself, or spotting ships for your team. If you use them to spot, you will lose them, which doesnt matter anyway, but it either helps you with dropping DDs, or it helps your team deal damage while you cycle through your squads.

I think it will be a full smoke meta. There is no counter to it, becaues there is no radar. So Perth is very good, maybe put something with reasonable AP into the smoke (i guess pepsis smoke firing concealment is not good enough tho). As i said earlier: who blindfires better I can really see it, a bunch of Perths slowly moving across the map in their smokebubbles

I think Graf Spee is too derpy to be useful. Sometimes you just miss completely. Also they lack radar compared to comrade Stalin

The 1,000,000 XP Question - Agir, Azuma, Alaska?
DFens_666 replied to invicta2012's topic in General Discussion
much harder. -
So what did we learn today? Always club with CVs on ANY tier, 24/7, so WG might realize there are no balanced CVs. Quite a task, i think all players, who are somewhat good with CVs, need to start playing CVs around the clock to feed the spreadsheet

The 1,000,000 XP Question - Agir, Azuma, Alaska?
DFens_666 replied to invicta2012's topic in General Discussion
If your question is, if Ägir can be citadelled, then yes, its easily possible. Ägir doesnt have a working turtleback if <2km turtleback doesnt work, than id say there is no turtleback, as it should work atleast at closerange (like on german techtree cruisers) -

I think everyone would have understood, if you would have taken 1-2 months off from the CB cycle and prepare a season many players asked for after the summer (like end of august/september). But good players already know whats gonna happen: Venezia gets replaced with Perth, since that has crawling smoke. Noone needs BBs, because Ryujo/Ark Royal. The only reason, T6 CVs dont look OP, is because, good players wouldnt play them. They club on T4 or T8. Doesnt make them bad tho, they are just in a position where you wouldnt want to play them, because the alterntives are better. Radar doesnt exist, which makes smoke even more viable, and BBs less viable (since you have even less chance of seeing the smoked ships). Not to mention spotting is still an issue. Its gonna be a 1:1 copy of TX CBs: First getting a cap gets the upper hand, other team has to react. They either get the 2nd cap - or not. Meanwhile, i guess, we will have teams trying to shoot each other in smoke.

Can but wonder, if our feedback/requests are too difficult to understand? There must be a language barrier, which prevents them from understanding us... right?

Yeah, reading that crap makes you angry... Ryujo/Ark Royal + bunch of smoke Cruisers.. oh wait, there are perfect Venezia replacements called Perth and Huanghe with crawling smoke, good that they are premiums I guess WG doesnt have data for T6 CVs, since good players wouldnt play that tier, they either play T4 or 8, doesnt make them bad on T6 tho And T6 BBs pushing flanks? must have missed those T6 BBs doing >30kts since i started to play wows.... ffs, CVs outrun literally all BBs, not to mention, if you have to dodge the CV, you lose tons of speed. But thats it, im done. That season will be even more trash than the other one. -

DFens_666 replied to T_Jiwankar's topic in General Discussion
Sniping from the back? Champagne and Slava certainly indicate that direction. Alltho, there is absolutely no reason to constantly shoot 20km, unless you dont run any concealment stuff. Even BBs have ~14km concealment, so they can be that close and be undetected between shots if necessary. -
New line to be announced this week
DFens_666 replied to Miscommunication_dept's topic in General Discussion
I pretty much think this. Last BB line is over 1 year ago, we had several Cruiser and DD lines in between and also CVs now. So it makes sense for a BB line. Also the latest premium Italian BBs with SAP indicate it aswell imo. We dont get 2 CVs lines back to back. The only other option i see would be italian DDs, or some Pan-asian/Pan-american stuff. -

I dont think you can compare those, one of those takes one salvo so basicly <10 seconds, the other can take the entire game, unless you make huge mistakes. People claiming, they instantly die to HE spam, usually overextended so badly that its inevitable. Do the same stuff with a cruiser and you die faster. Why not show broadside at ~12km without dodging. Is that really bad for 2 salvos? Sure he could have popped with the first, probably would happen sometimes, but i still got 32k on him. The 2nd im not sure, as he went into smoke while i shot and these days you lose lockon so fast and i got only 1 cita, but he was almost dead anyway and someone else just got the kill when he had a few k left. But he died within ~35 secs after being spotted, i shot him 2 times, which is a bit more than BB reload. By all means, a total misplay and he died for it. Yet when BBs make the same mistakes, people dont perceive them as such. -

Most of those are BBs shooting other BBs. It was always questionable to me, that T8-10 BBs can bowtank each other, it makes for a stale game. Many midtier BBs cant do that against each other, and you dont see those parking bow in... wait, except russians (well mostly Sinop because favourable turret layout compared to Izmail, but the point stands). Those used to be 0 damage pens, now people see them as something "bad" because it deals 0 damage. Thats how it used to look, so basicly no difference, its still 0 damage And BBs were always top damage dealers (with CVs), that hasnt changed. People use HE, because they deal more damage with it, but it makes the game worse, also for themselves, since BBs tend to start fires often on several parts due to dispersion. Also, shooting HE doesnt kill Cruisers, so Cruisers live longer, which increases their match influence. They need time to be useful (unless they carry radar, but radar ships also gain more influence by surviving longer). Its a downward spiral BBs have to blame themselves. Cruisers live longer = more HE shooting Cruisers dont need to be afraid against HE shooting BBs BBs shooting HE oversaturates the DCP, thus making it worse for BBs -

Since more and more BBs claim, AP is useless and start using HE, more and more BB players complain about HE spam... cant be connected to each other, must be a coincidence right? Any BB complaining about fires while shooting HE themselves, has to take a hard look in the mirror Majority of Cruisers have no chance to find DDs either, only the ones that have Radar... In case talking about 1v1s, how well Cruisers do against BBs?
