CE is pretty much useless for Massa, as when you are in secondary range, you will be spotted anyway. Wasted points imo. It only helps earlier in game, because you can operate slightly closer, but i dont think that will change much. Then i rather have FP (assuming one takes Manual sec and AFT anyway), because it will help when you push in.
-
I actually tested it once with and without Manual sec - manual sec is better. Even at 5km broadside, you get more damage in. Bow on targets like Cruisers, the difference is so much in favour of manual sec, i wouldnt go without it.

50-65 isnt standard. Normal ships have 45-60. F.e. Donskoi

Because bad players actually suck with Stalingrad if you give them one? And Stalingrad doesnt overperform in the hands of good players, so why nerf it?

What is up with tier 4 MM. 50+ CVs queued 5-6 of the rest
DFens_666 replied to Pappus's topic in General Discussion
Or make a mandatory scenario/campaign for T4 CVs, where people can learn the basics, without clubbing other players. -
The difference is, most people will keep shooting your superstructure, because its easier to hit and gives them more damage than shooting the bow/stern. Most of the time, you will be running around with 1 fire, while without FP, you would easily burn at 2 places. Only if you sit bow in you can easily burn at 2 places, since people will hit your bow like that. But i avoid those situations anyway. FP is a great skill, others are far less usefull for their investment (BFT/AFT if we look at Secondary and AA improvement). If you get 2 fires, you usually will have DCP available. I dont use JOAT/HA on BBs, then i rather take EM/AR as offensive options. I do ofc use BoS, DCP mod in 2nd slot and often DCP mod in 4th slot. Often enough, if you manage to annoy the enemy CV he will go for other targets. Bad CVs that is.

Base is 120 sec If you have TAE, its 100.8 sec I assume 1.35s is supposed to be 1:35 min, which would be 95 seconds. I guess you have adrenaline rush skilled on your captain aswell, which further lowers torp/gun reload when you lose health.

Because you 2 simply ignore every arguement / fact others provide? First you would need to accnowledge, that AA effectiveness works based on how skilled the CV player is. If he just flies straight into your flak - great, you will shoot down all his planes. If he dodges flak, all you have is DPS 99% of the time. That already makes a tremendous difference in outcome. And then the fighterplanes from CVs, they dont matter at all and have no impact on the fighting capability of the CV. Mind you, one of those Torps is from a Cossack which then killed me. Great, could defend myself from 2 CVs who are crap. I could swap both against one @El2aZeR ,id probably shoot down some planes, but he would kill me 7 times over compared to those 2.

RN CLs are in the link. CAs have standard ricochet angles Italians have 20° - 10° . btw i have to correct myself, they nerfed the russian CA angles at some point, its 40-25°, while Stalingrad has 35-25°. IIRC they used to have the same angles in the beginning. https://wowsft.com/ship Here you can look at the ships yourselves. Its not as easily accessible as the first link, but better than nothing.

Same as Stalingrad.

Or they could just make AA skills more useful? They were useful during RTS CVs times, only back then, most people didnt skill them because you would encounter CVs less often on average, unless you would division with CVs all the time. And thats probably one reason, why WG lowered the effect of AA skills: They didnt like CV + 2 AA Cruiser in a Division, making it almost impossible for the enemy CV to be useful by creating 2 no-fly-zones. On the other hand, good players actually did skill AA, cause they knew how powerful CVs can be. The problem is, WG thinks flak is actually good in preventing CV strikes - which simply doesnt work. Yes, it works against bad CV players, but they are a not a big threat to begin with. While against good CV players, you are just defenseless, even if you would use all available AA skills/modules. Ive had some AA ships after rework. CV could easily strike me time and time again, so i decided to remove AA skills. At some point, i also dropped Def-AA because its equally useless. Either the CV can kill me, or he cant because he is bad. If he is bad, i dont need AA skills to begin with.

Why would you not spec into plane regen/repair/armor? Do you have any other (useful) skills to pick? Sure you could choose to skill vigilance on your CV, but i doubt that provides more benefit than any other CV related skill. Meanwhile, skilling AFT is significantly worse than picking FP on a BB f.e. - FP provides a straightup benefit literally every game, since you will get shot at by HE (hey, you could even get dropped by HE bombs/rockets and suffer less fires) - AFT doesnt provide a benefit every game, because not every game has a CV in it. And even if, its not guaranteed that he will attack you. Also, your secondaries might be useless to begin with, providing also 0 benefit. - AFT also doesnt guarantee anything in terms of being attacked or not. You WILL always get attacked, especially the more skill the CV player has. Bad CV players will either die, or they are incapable of dropping you properly to begin with, thus you can simply dodge their attack without wasting skill points.
-
Meanwhile, you have shown us 0 facts backing up your claims. You only "argue" with your feelings about how superior AA builds are. Math > Feelings Not to mention, neglecting everything else for AA skills. Its not like, that i can just take AA skills on top as a cherry. Everything else is simply better than AA skills, because their benefit is higher.

For BB main transitioning to cruiser
DFens_666 replied to Admiral_Oily_Discharge's topic in General Discussion
Hightier US CAs wont get deckpens before ~14,2km. Even then the chances are bad, and you will get beltpens much easier. At 16,5km, you will get pens on both belt and deck. Im not sure if belt ricochet actually exists right now. Even NC has only 29° impact angle at 21km. -
Remove or IMPROVE player reporting function
DFens_666 replied to AccidentalDischarge's topic in General Discussion
The only thing which does something, is reporting someone for misbehaviour in chat. And that only works, if the person said something (which also includes stuff like "High caliber" which gets announced in chat). And you need a couple of people to trigger that. But there are probably some people running around, just reporting you regardless of what you say. And those are only 24h bans. If you insult others, expect to get 3, 7 days or even months of chatban. Everything else probably wont do anything. Just to make people "feel better" when they are salty. I mean, ive been reported so often despite carrying, so i just assume its salty enemies. Ive had a guy here in forums (which i had in game a few days before on MY TEAM) confessing to reporting me, because i said "XDDDD LOL" <-- yes, that actually happened. -
Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
DFens_666 replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
Its a result of his most played ships: Borderline OP for their tier, but if you get similiar results as with normal same tier BBs, you will have a lower PR. Can be enough to get a decent WR. -
Ive also had DDs claiming, HIndenburg has Radar
-
CVs dont do anything besides playing 1v1. You cant defend yourself alone against a CV. So ships need to blob up, playing 4vs1 CV? How is that acceptable
-
Pretty much had the same issues with Richelieu... for 1 good game where the guns worked extremely well, there were 2-3 where i got only overpens, shatters and bounces. On range, they basicly dont work at all, atleast thats what i felt. A bit closer than midrange seemed to get best results most of the time. Can be annoying in TX MM, but you just need to be a bit more patient there.
-
I prefer RPF over AA skills on US CAs, its actually kinda nice. Balti would probably be the best thanks to the good concealment and basicly stealth radar capability. PT/EL - AR/JoaT/EM (if you feel like it) - DE - RPF/CE. Buffalo can just take SI+PM instead of JOAT/EM. German CAs (Roon + Hindi) are more questionable, they dont even need SI anymore. Also dont need RPF since they have no Radar. I would welcome more skills useful for CAs, they dont really need anything, its just, pick the least useless skills
-
So you agree, one Halland cant stop a CV. Can i also add 2 ships on the CVs side to balance it out? How about 2 Radar Cruisers? Claiming, a Halland will kill a CV squad in 4-6 seconds is entirely the CV players fault. But hey, thats what you get by adding a broken class into the game
-
How about you get a Halland (or Friesland, since you have that already) and we get @El2aZeR in a T8 CV to kill you? Maybe that would open your eyes...
-
Just saying, you shouldnt categorically rule it out. The problem is, people just dont care about teamplay at all (that goes as much for BBs/CAs sitting in spawn demanding to get smoked up), but what can you expect, if you can just turn off the chat
-
I disagree with that. It can be very beneficial to smoke up your radar Cruiser, so he can help you get rid of DDs. Sure, you shouldnt waste your smoke on just some random dude, but there are times where it does make sense. Like if you have a Radar Mino supporting you, can make life so much easier. If people would play in divisions more often, they would understand the benefit of teamplay. But occasionally, you get that with random teammates aswell, once (while playing Radar mino) i asked a Z52 to smoke me up since a DD was coming, and i was in a bad spot at that time. He smoked me up and when my RPF told me, the DD is clear of the island, i popped my radar, and my Z detonated the Shima soon after. Not to mention, smoke doesnt help you against Radar or Hydro, if anything it makes it worse for you, since you effectively smoke up the enemy ships.
-
Well, he did ask that question too And the problem is, you never know what your DDs are doing. Last time i played division wihtout a DD in it, and i tried to help my DDs (me in Wooster), they just camped island (outside of the cap ofc) and i died for them. Its not worth, to die for others. The same goes for DDs not getting support. If you dont get support, then dont take the risk. Both sides have to understand what to do, and both need to understand what to do, if they dont have that backup.
