You actually gave the answer to the problem yourself. If i play a Cruiser against 5 BBs, my skill still does matter and its possible to play around that. Its not always easy, but its possible. However with CVs, it doesnt matter. The only thing i can do, is to hope for, that the CV doesnt attack me. You said so too. Ive had games, where the enemy CV did nothing but to attack me/my division, probably running MMM or some stupid crap like that. Thats totaly fun Give a BB MMM, he cant do that. Yes, ive had BBs who seem to always shoot me aswell, but even then you can work against that. Keep an eye on him and angle or use islands to shield yourself from him. Cant do that against CVs. You literally cant learn anything from playing against CVs. The minute he picks you as a target, its game on. Hope he cant drop properly is the best thing that can happen, while you still have to dodge fire from 5 BBs without the option to go dark. Playing without CV gives you options: I can stop shooting and go undetected if its too much. Add a CV, he can just randomly spot you, and BBs can shoot you aswell.

The biggest problem with Italian Cruisers for most players is, that they dont know where they need shoot at to get reliable damage. And since they cant start fires, its normal that they should have less damage than other Cruisers, because essentially their damage is worth more, since BBs can heal fire damage to 100%.

Losing FXP from seemingly bugged upgrade prices

Must be a "display" bug. I went to check, and for every ship, the gunfire control system supposedly costs 6200XP - even for my FDG. In reality, its 25k tho, which is correct. Or here for Vauquelin: Ofc the upgrade is not 6200 XP, but 17k which would be correct. And its ONLY the gun fire control system which is bugged @MrConway @Crysantos could you pass this along? -
Those would still be pens, not overpens. An AP shell, which passes through the first layer but gets stuck on the 2nd because it lacks pen is a penetration, dealing penetration damage (unless its some spaced armor/torpedo protection hit then its shatters, as the place they detonate in doesnt have a healthpool)

CVs should also suffer catasprohic explosions and fires when being hit by shells, because they are loaded with fuel/airplanes

^ This is not a joke btw. WG said themselves, that if CV numbers would drop too low, they would artificially overbuff them to keep them popular. So we have absolutely no chance to get T4 CVs removed. Lowtier CV players are whats keeping CV numbers up* The only things you can do - DONT give money to WG - Tell others to stop playing if they are unhappy - Quit the game WG will not listen to arguements, they only listen when it starts hurting them: money. * last week CV player numbers (lowtier is 4+6 / hightier 8+10)

In this specific case: T4 cant even see T6 ships under normal circumstances. So its impossible to "only" put them into T4-6 MM, as you still need a faildiv on each side to get them into T6-7 MM. If MM rules would change the way you propose, a T4-5 div would always have T4-5 MM. Easier to understand if we look at a range, where both tiers have +/-2 MM rule, f.e. T7+8 faildiv. Put one T7 ship + 2 T8 ships together and your MM would be T7-9 at worst. T8 vs 9 is much easier than T8 facing T10 ships, which can easily happen if you go in with a 3x div of only T8 ships. Not to mention, at best you could get T6-8 MM with 2 toptier ships.

Why should you get better MM for the higher tier ship? If it would work like you describe, everyone would be doing faildivs to ensure easier MM.

Because countering your counter would break the balance? Or it would be so limited, that DDs wouldnt have much of a counter at all (mind you, radar was introduced at a time where we didnt have a CV in basicly every game). Also i think, russian CA radar is much less scary than US radar, so a ship with shortduration radar is easier to handle than one with long duration.

There is a part in me, that they also believe that wows is a dying game, so they are putting every resource into milking money from customers: - sheer endless stream of premiums, especially T9s which they sell for cash now - faster release of techtree lines - subs coming into the game - extreme amount of missions to keep players busy as long as possible, while extracting money from those aswell Basicly we are getting YEARS of content crammed into a couple of months for what reason actually? Imo only to keep players busy/interested in the game while extracting money. Someone, who is invested with time/cash is less likely to stop playing. But at the same time, they are doing their outmost to make new players leave the game, or at best make them buy hightier premiums to jump away from the lowtier hell they have created. Which also generates some amount of money, while binding yet another player in the game, but losing some at the T4 CV hell.

good point... could Standard battle work if you play it smart and wait between kills? Could also be the answer why he didnt get 12 kills as time ran out/you reached 1000 yourself. But would be quite funny if both teams had 1 person playing, and they had a gentlemen agreement not to attack each other

They bodged the autopilot when they reworked it. See Operations, which got totaly ruined by ships making absolutely stupid moves. Maybe its WGs way to balance CVs a slightly bit (and ruin OPs ofc) -

With >50% WR in combination with WR based MM, you would actually ensuse to get worse players on your team all the time WR/Skill based MM will have the opposite effect you are hoping for: It will make skill less of an issue, by drawing everyone to ~50%. -

I think what he wanted to say was, shoot 1 turret if you dont know the lead you have to take, and then shoot the others after that.

For good players, they usually get worse results (damage/kills) than if they would Solo. Only WR rises in division play. Makes sense ofc, with 2 other good players who would take damage/kills away from you. Imo: So divisions have both advantages and disadvantages looking at results. Id say, in the end the difference might not be as big either way. Ofc you can say, winning more gives you much more XP than having a slightly better average on damage and kills. Then again, you could say the same for bad players, who drag each other down in WR by playing divisions, while not necessarily changing their results at all.

I havent played with improved PM on DDs, but even normal PM + those modules + LS, you can expect to lose rudder/engine all the time. Sometimes it happens within 10 secs, so basicly you DCP the first, next hit you lose it again. Sometimes it might ofc not happen, but i personaly wouldnt take the chances.
