Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
DFens_666 replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
In reality, its roughly ~ 3,6% vs TX BBs or ~ 4,6% vs T8 BBs assuming both are running full anti fire build. But that doesnt matter so much, since you can only burn at one place at the same time. Not to mention, you wont hit all shells anyway. As for direct damage: Ofc its true, that a T8 BB will die faster by direct damage, however, T8 BBs are also smaller than their T10 breathren. Just look at NC vs Montana or Tirpitz vs GK. So you can expect less hits. Also they are more nimble, so they can dodge better. -
One of them as TX "BC" could be nice

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance

Being a T8 or T10 BB against Smolensk doesnt make any difference. Smolensk cant pen either, and fire damage is percentage based. So if you have 40k or 100k makes no difference, since a fire will take 18% either way. And regarding fighting Smolensk, T8 BBs might actually be better suited for that, since they create less overpens than T10 BBs with their high caliber guns. >430mm shells wont arm under certain circumstances against it. As for Cruisers, it depends if the Smolensk has IFHE or not. Only with IFHE can Smolensk pen Cruisers, but not T10 CA midsection. -

You basicly had the 2 best players available on your team... but that happens if you only go by the colour MMM presents you. And you cant balance by PR because - WG didnt invent PR - PR is not accurate for every ship But let me guess, that gam ended in a self-fulfilling prophecy? -
Supercontainer Premium Ship Drop List (Aug 2020)
DFens_666 replied to Benser33's topic in General Discussion
Just get them in coop, thats how ive always done it. -
For average players, what do you really gain by playing Cruisers? They deal less damage and die faster compared to playing BB. In terms of match influence, there is not much of a difference, atleast if you dont play well enough.
-
That doesnt really matter that much. Bourgogne has 11900 on TX and its a very strong ship. DoY is kinda supposed to be the AP version of KGV, since its AP is better. But that doesnt work anymore, now that it can get citadelled from basicly every angle.

"Those cant be 20km torps right?!?!" *takes a torp* havent we all been there
-
How about no? Last 28 days, sorted by games played... oh wow, Hindenburg is the most played T10 Cruiser by almost TWICE the number of the next one, which is, surprised, not a radar cruiser either *gasp* We have 448.000 Radar Cruiser (if you can count Salem as a radar ship) games vs 539.000 non-radar Cruiser games. Left Mino out of it, since it can be both, but i think we can assume, like >90% of Minos are Smoke and not Radar.
-
Saying one thing and whats actually the reality is actually 2 different things... Also Cruisers are perfectly fine in shooting DDs, but most of them cant do it on their own. They need either spot from their own DDs or CVs.
-
So we can just remove - All Cruisers below T8 except Belfast/Indi/Atlanta since they carry radar. - All Cruisers T8+ that dont carry radar. - Maybe we can keep Henri, as it has the speed to actually HUNT a DD, if the DD manages to be stupid ofc. Sounds like fun
-
No it isnt... simply because, most Cruisers are INCAPABLE of doing it. There are also Cruisers, that can kill BBs, wonder how that works out in your triangle
-
And you quoted @Panocek first, where he and the OP didnt even specificy any cruiser to begin with. You just rambled in there, changing stuff as you go to fit your narrative. Why did you disagree to begin with? Go play Hindenburg and hunt DDs, neither of us knows what kinda Cruiser the OP was talking about. So the general statement "Cruisers have to hunt DDs" is simply wrong, as most Cruisers cant do it.
-
Thats WoT And its more people that quit after CV rework than just one... WG was just riding the Corona-wave of players this year, so it didnt seem like it.

Why do BB's use the repair so quickly after 1 fire
DFens_666 replied to Shell_terror2020's topic in General Discussion
Oh yeah, the concept of permafires, nice when you still get those f.e. my last Donskoi game -
@WilliWankaChocoFab Because this needs to be set straight first of all, there was a time in the beginning where more than 2 TX CVs could be in one game now to the playernumbers: https://proships.ru/stat/eu/s/99999- individual player numbers Even if you would add all of those together, you would only get 45k players- and you can bet that there are persons, who played 2 or most likely even all 4 of those CVs, making it impossible to participate in several matches at the same time. As a comparision, Smolensk with "equal" individual players managing 2,7 million games played. CVs are mostly played by a minority, who does nothing but play CVs day in and out.
-
Yeah sure, why not, ill just permanently div with a CV 1tier lower than my own ship to guarantee myself being toptier. Nice way to fix T7 MM That some lowtier DDs could farm hightier ships is a thing of a time, when Radar didnt exist. GL getting into range of 7km with ships carrying 10-12km radar

Just to dump my idea in here, which i had a few weeks ago, but couldnt be arsed to make a threat about it. Got bored after playing 1 evening of T6 CBs and basicly havent touched the game after that out of frustration, and pretty much cant see myself returning to it. Even so much clan stuff going on where i might have a chance to play along, but fun is completely gone. Back to my idea: - the problem about strengthening individual AA is, that it would shutdown CVs completely, because everyone would do it, and i can understand that WG doesnt like it - at the same time, protecting your friendly ships with AA is basicly impossible due to how AA is implemented. Skilled CV players can drop a group of ships regardless, bad players will fail on one ships. Now how to change that: - Make only AA count from the closest ship. Obviously, you can now buff AA for atleast some ships, to make it useful and make them be able to defend themselves properly from CVs (cruisers in general, but especially ships like Atlanta or US/RN Cruisers) Example CV is attacking a Shima and a Mino. as long as he is closer to the Shima, he will only receive AA damage from her. But when he gets closer to the Mino, he will take hefty AA damage. - To offset the drop in AA, make multiple auras increase the reticle of the drop, the same way which DefAA used to do back in the days. f.e. a CV attacks one ship alone, the reticle would be as small as it is right now Attacking a group of 2-3 ships would give you a debuff of up to 50%, so some hits possible Attacking a group of more than 4 ships should give full debuff, and the reticle should not get smaller at all, giving minimal damage only. result: We can have dedicated AA ships, no reason CVs need to be able to screw everything. Multiple ships in one spot will make it harder for every CV regardless if he is a noob or a Unicum. The huge skillgap is still a major issue regarding CVs, where a bad CV dies to one ship, and a SU CV will strike ships within a blob of 4 or more ships. Make AA skills and modules more useful again, since individual AA balance is now possible without breaking the game for CVs.

So even if they wouldnt have reworked the CVs, he would have also stopped playing, or not? btw, what does that have to do with MM at all? -

And "these" (like 1 person actually?) people have to play reworked CVs, even if they dont like them, because...? -
Rarely. You need to be pretty sure that you can get citadels. And even that sometimes fails ofc. But i still did take my chances. 15 AP volley from Venezia can hurt badly tho
-
They might not remove Steel, but let Steel be converted to Coal or get other useless stuff for steel (*cough* camos). Steel would basicly just be a coal supplement, to get more of it by playing ranked/CBs.

More players will not only water down the average stats, but the top 10% aswell top 10% for MvR are 155 players top 10% for Midway are 587 players (assuming thats how wows.numbers works, but they might actually lack players as they dont update on their own, but only if you actually check that profile). If you would have equal numbers for both CVs, they it would automatically decrease the top 10% stats for MvR aswell. Currently, you might be looking at the best from the best, same like Bourgogne f.e. A more appriate picture might be (well still not, but lets just do it to see where it goes) to compare top 25% for MvR, which would be 387 players vs Midways top 10% 587. Already much closer together, and MvR has probably still less players accumulating those stats compared to Midway, but there is no top 35%~ to. Here Midways top 5%, which would be a little bit less than 300 players
-
I dont have a problem with that, but most people (who have better stats in CVs than with other classes... must be a conincidence) dont even want to accnowledge the broken state of CVs or even worse outright lie when it comes to that. Even i prefer a good CV player in my division, as it guarantees not getting a windowlicker. But (ab)using it, you can still be honest about the power they offer.
-
They have to defend CVs, so they can keep enjoying their broken toy?
