You think too highly of our playerbase... they would need to understand, that flak spawns in their path. They rather complain how OP AA is
-
Just a CV main who sucks in everything else... so no surprise there. No incentive to git gud? - Blame team - Blame RNG - AA is OP And its not their primary objective when they play CV. They do it, because they can "play" for the longest amount of time since they dont lose their ship. Sit in the back and attack anywhere you like. Cowards, who were given the perfect tool for the job.

What do you do with Pommern once the ranked sprint is over?
DFens_666 replied to Ocsimano18's topic in General Discussion
Push for the objective -> take it (or basicly let your team take it) -> hope that enemies understand they will lose so they push back into you. If they dont, take the win. If they do, its game on Too many players just push for the sake of pushing. But that doesnt work in WoWs, and neither it is the objective. If you already have the cap, and you keep pushing into kiting enemies, than you do them a favour. Too many games have been lost by teams, who get 3 caps and proceed to suicide into enemy spawn. You are REWARDING people, who have a playstyle that you DONT LIKE. Think about that. We dont have to ask ourselves, why are people camping in the back, if there are enough people who give them free target practice and sometimes the win ontop of that. -
Why should people get rewarded for picking non-meta ships? The rules are known to everyone: 3v3 on small maps, 2 caps, fast ticking score. If you pick a ship, which has no torps/hydro and no fast game impact, then its on yourself. No need to give them easy MM against other players, who dont understand it either. If that would be the case, id join the noob brigade and pick those ships aswell, since it will be easier for me to dominate them.

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance

You guys still have not answered, how anyone (the MM) is supposed to achieve that. 4 Classes, 10 tiers, more than 300 different ships. How do you rate someone playing 90% lowtier with 70% WR, but at TX he only has 40% WR? Or someone who plays CVs well with 60% WR but everything else only 50%? What if someone only has 5 games in a ship? Most people dont have equal skill in every ship they play, unless they just play really badly. Unicums in every ship are extremely rare. And for the average guy... he needs time to figure it out. He will eventually, making it even harder to rate him properly. And those average guys might be good in some ships, but not so good in others. Give them an easy ship, they perform well, but with a harder ship, they might struggle. There are too many variables in wows to make it accurate. Not to mention, we still have tier/class resctrictions ontop of that. It would be even more unfair, balancing a Unicum DD player with a Unicum CV player on the enemy team. The latter will either kill the DD, or make him useless (which is more likely). -
ranked sprint format as a game option.
DFens_666 replied to THE_JUDEAN_PEOPLES_FRONT's topic in General Discussion
Yep, thats pretty much the issue with too many ships... Being able to rush ships definetely is fun (atleast for me) Very satisfying Like i did recently with Ägir, when a Musashi was camping behind an island: Few cits + some torps and there he went But as i said, im unsure about Pommerns dispersion... it didnt feel good enough, or maybe i was just lucky with Alsace - ive no idea. If we could test ships for a day or so... -

Lets put it this way: Salem -> play DM Marceau -> play Kleber Leaves you with Pommern/Yoshino. Depends how good your frustration level is regarding shotgun BBs If you dont mind that, id go with Pommern. Had fun with it in Sprint, but thats hardly applicable to randoms... I wonder, if the dispersion module helps so much, because with Alsace i havent felt the salvos to be so "random". And the dispersion difference shouldnt be that big, but even in the close range fights it felt weird at times. I had like 50ish % hitrate with it, but it doesnt mean it hit where i wanted it to hit. -
Do you have Bourgogne? Bourgogne is closer to cruiser playstyle. Stalingrad is more BB playstyle Same for Stalingrad (maybe even more?). By now, everyone knows how to play against it. They just point bow towards you, and shoot you because they hate you. AP is only good if the ship is not angled, and HE DPM is horrible.
-
Dont take Azuma or Friesland. Alaska and Ägir are the go to ships. Both good, but a bit different. Ägir is better at rushing ships end game, due to torps, especially those BBs which dont have a citadel. Alaska has Radar and is a bit harder to citadel.
-
They atleast tend to survive longer and can still participate in the battle even when being attacked by CVs. When playing BB, CVs are mostly just a nuance, unless its like Enty facing a german BB.
-
Are you surprised? Its not like, some people have been saying that, but the majority only cares about "their class". Noone should be happy, if their favourite class doesnt get shafted while another gets the stick. Because at some point, they will come for you. I dont see myself as a DD player at all (<10% DD games) but why should i turn a blind eye towards CVs just raping them with rockets? Sadly, a lot of people are like that, especially BB players, who get cuddled by WG every time anyway. So now that they are done screwing DDs, they came to my favourite class - Cruisers. WG thinks, its a fix by screwing something else over, which is utter horseshit ofc. I wonder where we go next? They wont screw BBs/CVs, thats for sure...

Gathering XP has been made too easy, thats why, new players are always short on credits unless they basicly ignore the grind and just play the game. Ofc WG wants that, since that will get them money. Here is the first line i played to T10. The amount of games is very high. Hipper is especially high, since back then we had missions requiring atleast T8 ship and it was my only one so i just played that. Followed by this - mind you, Takao was not a premium back in those days, it didnt even have a camo. German BBs were my first BB line I played tons of Nassau games in the beginning - it was fun. I took a longer time going past Bayern, and also didnt just grind through Bismarck (didnt really enjoy it). By the time i got FDG, i FreeXPed past that because it was horrible to play. But i had already played for 2 years, and just played other ships in which i had fun. Ofc Missouri has the best credit earning potential, which made me tons of money. As comparision, i looked at some of the lines you played Thats really fast. Only a handful games. I also started with US BBs very early, but stopped at NY, only picked it up later See the difference? Even if you only make a small profit playing silver ships, its still enough to pay for the ship. If you only play 10 games or so, you will lose a lot of money, which results in the need for premium time/ premium ships/ outright buying credits with money. If you dont want to throw money at WG, just slow down. Play a midtier ship you enjoy, even if its techtree, and those problems will not occur. There is no pot of gold at T10. To this date, i have more battles on each T4-9 than i have on T10! And i have like 17 TX ships now. Play to have fun, dont play because you feel the need to do this or get that ship. The bonus on top, if you dont rush through the tiers, you will also get better at playing, which makes credits less of an issue.

Doesnt he have to play like 75 battles to unlock ranked nowadays?

Matchmaker Discussion Thread & MM Balance
DFens_666 replied to Excavatus's topic in General Discussion
One of the worst things i remember in operations, was a Bayern actively staying OUTSIDE of his gun range. I asked him, why is he running away without the ability to shoot. Answer was "stfu, i play how i want" I wonder how thats actually PLAYING the game, guess there are some really special people out there, who think this is cruiseship-simulator - not a game with warships. -
Looking for advice about t7 premium ships
DFens_666 replied to bokelund917's topic in General Discussion
Just dont... T7 gets permanently shafted vs T9 by the MM, and thats one of the worst MM you can have. You have still very limited experience, a good premium ship to earn money in, is a ship you play well and also like to play. So you should pick one, which is close to a techtree ship you like. Thats why, you should play more ships before you decide. Or look at the lower tier coal ships, maybe there is a one that might interest you. -
How do you farm damage with MvR? It only has 1 type of plane which produces DoT. If farming BBs is easy, everything else is easier, since BBs tend to have the best available AA.

If we cant prevent Roflstomps how about at least Rewarding them properly ?
DFens_666 replied to Sunleader's topic in General Discussion
Thats imo the best answer, and thats how i see it myself. I think, too many players are being stuck in a loop, where they mostly play for missions/rewards/grinding ships. And some are just doing their own thing because they think thats how the game should be played. Aaaand then you have the group of players, who thinks it doesnt matter anyway what you do, since they are only 1/12. While you might get the last group to play for the win (x for doubt, but atleast in theory), the others are just way off. If they need 4 torp hits in their DD to finish the mission guess what theyll do: Rush in, throw torps and die. Next game. The amount of people trying to grab kills during kill-ribbon missions is quite high, as probably most of us know. So you know what those guys do when they dont need kills: other missions, which also influences how they play. Those people are riding on other peoples back, and get rewarded if someone carries them after a hardfought 20 minute game. If they lose and still get 300 XP - doesnt matter, they only played for 3 minutes. While others of us played for 17 or so to work against the inevitable, and go home with 1500 XP. But they have played 4 more games in that span, giving them MORE xp than they would have gotten if they would have played for the win. So to summarize - They dont care (enough) to play for the win - Because they dont have the skill, they are worse off by trying to play for the win, than just speed grind by yoloing 2 major issues imo. How to fix those? Thats the hard question... - Teach them how to play properly. I think that wont fix enough - Make missions only for wins - that might make it a bit better, and the requirements need to be lowered ofc. - Punish them harder for not playing properly. While thats my favourite, i know many people disagree with this. But that would have the highest impact imo. Either play properly, or gtfo. -
Implying that you came here seeking help. You came here, blaiming the game/your teammates how they screw you.
-
Thats too sad to be funny Imo it used to be. Like for US CLs, which had both consumables pre-rework. It really felt unfair back then, that they get both (and radar) while they could have done without it aswell. Even ships with weak AA (IJN CAs f.e.) had a bonus, as CVs couldnt get a good drop off through DefAA. Nowadays? might just give them both. Doesnt matter. You dont need it against bad players, because they will either die or screw up the drop. And against Unicums, it doesnt help either. IF you get to shoot down 1 more plane, he will still kill you before there is any chance of deplaning him. And since there is no debuff for dropping anymore... So yeah, just how i see it, but i think it makes sense.

1. All AP secondaries got removed like 2 years ago or something 2. Secondaries fire at ships behind Islands, if they can lob over. Sometimes, mainguns cant hit, but secondaries can.
-
Random noobs who dont understand the game... but atleast some fun moments for me to share, so thanks for the replay btw, the Musashis would have been easier targets for you, they are even worse at brawling than an Izumo. Musashis are terrible close quarter, just get them from 2 angles or make a driveby. Ofc doesnt work with teammates like that
-
Since DefAA is essentially useless, might aswell give them both Same for Cruisers btw, as picking Hydro is generally much more useful than picking DefAA.
-
That worked out nicely i suppose (had a look^^)
