oof, didnt look like it for me yesterday. I checked the teams afterwards and i was shocked about what i saw

1v1 in the training room dont say much, as they are very disconnected from the normal game. A CV attacking a DD is not the only one, which the DD has to keep track off. Since the CV can spot the DD for his team, the DD can also expect to get shot at, while in a 1v1 this doesnt happen. In a random game, seeing a good CV player on the enemy team i would just alter my own playstyle so he wont attack me. But that removes my influence even if he wont attack me, so the CV already won that one. F.e. if a no-CV game, you could park your DM at an island for radar cover on the nearest cap. You try that with a CV that has AP bombs and you die. So even if the CV will not attack you now, he could do it every time you park at that island, essentially making that island useless. He doesnt even need to be that good of a CV player to flush you out of there, and since you dont know what he is capable of, using a valid tactic is made invalid by the presence of a CV. Not killing someone doesnt mean, that someone has the ability to play the same way regardless if there was a CV present or not. And if there is a radar Cruiser, you can forget about that. You might be able to bait the radar, but the CV shouldnt be busy for more than 2 minutes (baiting radar -> wait till radar is off -> enter cap with smoke -> get the cap)

Thats exactly the issue! A Unicum CV player will pretty much wipe the floor with any other ship, even when played by a Unicum. The only thing you can do, is play so passively that he has to strike other targets, and then he already won, since you are (almost) useless. At the same time, even a mediocre or bad CV player can ruin your game despite being a better player, and there is not much you can do about it. It cant be an arguement, that it might not happen to you in a specific game, because the CV is doing this to another target somewhere else on the map. He is doing it someone almost guaranteed.

Ill take my chances seeing you or hundreds or thousands of others who focus players with good stats using MMM because they are "SMRT" Btw doesnt really matter since we would both recognize one another in battle by name anyway
-
The problem is, majority of CV players is horrendously bad, which prevents CVs from getting balanced. Imagine, 80% of the CV players would play close to the level of @El2aZeR... CVs would have been nerfed back into the stone-age And even then, no other ship has so much impact over other players than a badly played CV (compared to other ships being played badly). Sure, a bad CV player might ignore you because he is simply incapable of understanding to strike you when necessary. But at the same time, he can screw you over even if you sit in your spawn, because he keeps coming for you. Playing against a decent CV player, you can forget about every tactical move, because he will punish you. Against a noob, you still might get away with it, unless he accidently finds you and still screw you over. Imagine getting screwed by a Yamato sitting on A1 shooting HE from 30km... yeah, doesnt happen. But if its a CV, it happens every game, because they WILL screw someone, and if its just by permaspotting them.

Why should anyone buy the 40th premium ship, if its pretty much the same than 5 others he already owns? Sure there are some committed whales who basicly buy everything, but apart from those? F.e. i dont see any reason to buy a premium ship, just that i might play it 10 times? Too many ships, which you cant play at the same time anyway. The longer you play, the less need you have to buy the next premium they just release. New players are the bread and butter for WG, i still wonder where they are coming from. But looking at battle numbers after the game, it seems like >50% of the players have less than 1500 games played. I see repeatedly players with T8-9 premium ships, who have only a few hundred battles. But i also recently looked at Steam achievements, and less then 1/3 of the players actually get to win 10 random battles... says a lot about how many actually keep playing the game

Ive actually observed the same thing. At times ive hidden my stats when playing randoms, usually after games where i got permanently shot by some players who did nothing but wait until i get spotted again. Never had that with hidden stats. But looking at the CV WR in ranked and when looking at other players stats when they played like horseshit: Its >90% stinkers who hide their stats because "MIMIMI I GET STATSHAMED"
-
Unless CV is incompetent Reminds me of my last ranked game yesterday, where half my team blobbed up and went towards mapborder. The rest of us (so me and another one) tried to hold the other side, but got pushed back more and more since the enemy CV harassed us and permaspotted us for their team. Meanwhile, entire enemy team was pretty much scattered across the map, with 2 ships forming the biggest blobs. Yet our CV didnt do anything, he couldnt even spot them properly That game was 100% decided by CVs, because enemy CV handcuffed me and ours didnt do anything, despite having it easier attacking enemy ships. I would leave queue if i see CVs, but last game started immediately upon entering so no chance to abort

Noobs hide their stats to not get statshamed

Carriers in next season of clan battles...

I played only 1 evening, after that i couldnt be bothered anymore. Too many people are trapped inside this reward / FOMO - cycle, and WG knows it. -

Season 9 clans/battles Season 10 clans/battles Looks like a pretty hefty hit to me, almost 40% less battles played than the season before. -
Is the playerbase rewarded too much?

Had one who played really well today... and he had 47% WR on his acc Then had one on the enemy team who thought, smoking 13km infront of me (stalingrad) is a smart thing to do... 30 secs later he was dead

CV. I had 2 Epicenter games and 1 with CV. And the one with CV was just garbage. Permaspotted, all the time being attacked, cant move. Team doesnt do anything either ofc Naturally won the 2 Epicenter games and lost the one with CV, because my teams CV sucked [edited], what else

Makes sense I went like "wtf 3 montanas" when battle started...

Didnt know that 3 cits deal less damage if im in a group of ships compared to if im alone... My example atleast includes a ship, which supposedly is countered by one, but a counter to the other (BB > Cruiser / Cruiser > CV) Your example is: A ship should lose to its counter faster than to the CV (DD > BB). Alltho a CV should actually counter BBs, but i think we can forget about that one. Atleast in theory, WG thinks Cruisers have good AA That really depends on the gamemode: Objective based? Maybe. Not objective based? CV can just run away indefinetely, so its just who can kill the BB faster. Alltho a DD might have problems in an objective based 1v1 aswell, as he is forced into the cap, while the CV can reset the BB, or even severly damage him prior to actually reaching the cap.

In b4 next season is 1 BB + 1CV or 3 BB -
How does that answer make any sense? So we were talking about, why not getting devstriked by a BB is different to getting attacked by CV, and your answer is "back in the old days, BBs got devstriked by CVs" Since you also play CVs and dont seem to understand the difference, i ask you. Maybe we should make this more clear: BB vs Stalingrad. Stalingrad can sit bow on to BB, resulting in minor damage. If i choose not to show broadside, risk of me getting citadelled is like 0,1%, as it might happen due to some weird WG brainfart coding. The BB cant physically turn my ship to, or warp over to shoot my citadel. If the BB wants to flank me, i have several minutes to alter my position, or just hide behind an island. CV vs Stalingrad. Stalingrad turns like a brick. Planes fly with 200kts around my ship, can compensate for angle of attack even while dropping. Results in up to 20k damage at my citadel which i cant heal properly. Or just take the same with AP rockets. I can work around the BB not deleting me with one salvo. I cant work around the CV getting the perfect drop. If he doesnt get a perfect drop, he is incompetent. In one scenario its the one being attacked who has a say in how much damage he receives. In the other scenario, its only the attacker who decides how much damage he can deal. Lets even forget RNG, which often favours CVs ontop of that.
-
A BB cant magicially fly around you and get the perfect attack angle on you. If i dont show broadside, he cant citadel me f.e. Or i go behind an island, the BB cant just fly around in 30 secs to attack me from the side. Either he needs more time or a friendly DD might actually stop him from going there. Not so CVs, he can just conveniently fly around me FASTER than i can maneuver my ship. Not to mention, dodging planes might just open up my broadside for the BB just waiting to hit my citadel. Why is this difference so hard to understand for some CV players?

Carriers in next season of clan battles...

You forget more nerfs to Venezia. And no nerfs to whatever russianboat is used to complement that lineup. Meh, i dont see Slava being useful? Cant overmatch TX Cruisers and can get deckpenned longrange by Venezia. Not to mention, in a cyclone it would probably be horseshit too. Kremlin much better, can tank Venezia and overmatch it too. In Cyclone better than Slava. -
Take Radar as an example: - Whats the strong point of DDs in regard to other classes? Good concealment - If we only look at all the classes without gimmicks, which class/ship can spot DDs? -> CVs or DDs - Back in the days, most games had no CV in it, leaving DDs to spot DDs. DDs spotting each other often would result in one DD dying, and 1 DD being left alive. - The DD which remained alive had no more counter to its concealment, thus DDs being the only way to spot other DDs doesnt work. - Radar directly counters the concealment of DDs. It removes the concealment advantage to 100% within the area, regardless of smoke/island.

Playerbase gets worse and worse everytime... how is that actually a thing? But now we are at a point, where the majority of players seem to be TX mains with <2000 battles played Half of those has less than 1k games and <46% WR. I even see Typhoon clantags with 46% players in Steel ships... wut? Played 2 games so far, and the 2nd already was very iffy. Im not sure how we won this, seeing that i had 1 guy over 50% with me, and enemies only had 3 guys below 50%. While i was trying to block the cap in arms race against 3 ships in my Stalingrad, my Monty (900 games 42% TX main) went sightseeing on the far outside of the map, and when i asked why he ran away "I Collect healbuffz". Well thanks for not killing a couple of stationary ships which you could have rushed After i died, he ofc went in to get killed by a 44% republique

How to make RADAR a LITTLE more fair for DDs
DFens_666 replied to FizzlePopBerryTwist's topic in General Discussion
Id take that over Balti/Cleveland/Mino/Edin/Chapa/DM/Buffalo/Wooster radar every day. Petro can shoot twice? during his radar. If its 12km radar definetely. More so if the ship in question can comfortably bowtank without much risk of deletion and have most firepower in the front. Doing the same in a US CA with 10km radar and not being bow-tanking proof atleast has some form of risk attached to it.
