@OP As people already mentioned - go T9 or Thunderor if you really want it to be a T10, IMHO neither Salem nor Yoshino are really beginner friendly ships and Smolensk is even less so, yes misplay CAN be compensated to a degree with her smoke in the sense of imminent survival BUT the smoke runs out and you gotta run around without it while its on cooldown and in the end you spend all the charges AND (and this is the biggest and) you need to know how to position with her to have any influence, when it boils down its a DOT "burn me down" ship which in itself aint that complicated on paper but actually positioning in a way to be able to do it and have influence on the outcome AND not get deleted in 2 min takes surprisingly lot of effort...

Unfirtunatly the truth is more gruesome, you dont need 100s of matchess to progress through a T4 cv, I mean come on, I acctually reground the IJN cv line so I know how long it lasts, it took me like 5-6 games to go through hosho to ruyo and some 10-15 games from there to shokaku and I sure as phuq didnt put a 19pt on hosho ffs, that whats going on down there is statpadding and sealclubbing in its finest and has nothing to do with the RC aldough it does not help the situation either ofc

Yes and no, well spaced blob (so you get covered by flak everywhere) will counter DBs (unless its RN carpet bombers - they dont really care) as you will bleed planes to strike targets and there is no counter really, however RF are less sensitive since they dont linger in the dive and TBs can pretty much ignore the flak of the blob and zooming in and out can awoid taking 2 much continuos aa, sure you will lose a plane or two for the strike but a good drop will be worth it, sure occasionally you eat that unlucky/invisible flak burst and lose a lot of hp but hey rngesus never sleeps...

No it did not, you got up to 10k (dependind on the number of T10s you have IIRC) for first use the RC as a gift, after you have reset a line the points were ASSIGNED to the T6-10 ships, to acctually GET the points you need to play and win a battle with each of those ships, then you get 500rp for T6 and incremental up to 6000rp for the T10 ship (double for the first line you use) so no the system did not go "auto shopping" you didnt/dont get the points at all when you RESET, you get the points when you REGRIND

It has sence becouse it pens kremlin and soyuz decks, HE does not give that much damage per se as some but it adds up through the fight, I would not dismiss it in cw and rank for that purpose, aldough an IFHE yosino might be good as well

If its a BB its a BB with 6x356mm guns if its a T6 with T6 armor and halfway normal stats (barring they go completely ape with dispersion and sigma) that faces things having TWICE the broadside in the same caliber (Fuso, Izmail, New Mex) or 8-9 15" or even 16" guns (virginia, colorado, sinop, nelson, alabama, etc) it wil get vaporised in any kind of a gunnery duel, only thing where this would make sence is sniping from the farthest possible distance (probably using HE) hoping you will outreach the target and having the endless fighter to defend against the cv striking you as you camp alone... If its the opinion the game needs this kind of BB...

WG should really consider removing the T4 cvs and starting the cv lines at T6 same as the subs and introducing some T3-T5 ops with bot cvs for a basic experience in AA for the new players, this statpadding BS thats going on down there is just apaling...

But in principle - you are right OFC, you could given unlimited spenditure amass millions of coal through event crates if you wanted as there is usually no limit in the number of crates that you can buy when they are around and can buy any coal ship you want...

Those airdeck cruisers might have had some utility IRL pacific theatre but hardly fit in this game as it is and as they are... Say that Mogami for instance... Double spotter/fighter stuff has no sence at all when you think of it couse what do you really gain? If you make the planes some kind of automatons/consumables like bot controlled to strike stuff its ridiculous. you basically have an aoba firepower in a T10 match with a RNG gimmick most players will shoot down instantly... If you make the planes player controlled then what do you get is a mini cv of sorts but what happens with te main hull while you are away? How big a sqad does it get? How is it balanced? DCP? Fire duration etc...

So the first impression is cruisers get shafted - again... Well ok I guess its time to swich to CV/BB main...

Dont play low tiers, cant you see WG wants you to discover the wonderfoul world of high tier (premiums) and they not only made T4 cv but added the RC so you end up facing not only the resident clubber population but the regrinders as well, its the new go up or get out campaign...

I got Alabama, twice, onece from a christmas santa crate sc and another one from this years anniversary crate, also I got a Gremyashy and Kamikaze from SCs and Massatchusets from a santa crate all decent ships

@Redfoxrommy Cossack as Kidd AA wont save you from a competent CV any more then any other dd, with coss you get great concealment, decent guns, smoke on demand and aldough you have only one torp launcher you can drop them one by one so you can form tight stacks and single lines that slam bbs like a hammer, also reload on them is quite decent and as added bonus you get EB and hydro...

@OP since I am regrinding the IJN cv line and the german tree at the moment it will likely be one of them I take out aldough I dont know how much of it I will play since I a bit saturated with this constant rank, cw, sprint, sprint again, brawly, more sprint routine, I will likely just try to farm some quick flags and move on...
