    In previous seasons I used to care about the end result, wr number of battles and so on and I tried to make every battle count, as a result I usually played 100-150 games and end up where I and up, in this season the meta developed as I expected and IDGF about this season, I use it to farm cash and flags and what I get I get, if you cant beat the piles of join them i guess...

    Well actually by a metric of "playing against it beeing a completely miserable experience" it sort of is... Yes she is counterable but dealing with a smol is really, really annoying...

    Khm, the DD that gets spoted and killed by the Venezia prob wont tip the scales... Besides 2 salvos take 40s most T10 cruisers can kill a dd in that time as well...

    No they shouldnt but reaching it shouldnt be a measure of persistance but the one of skill and current system just doesnt measure skill at all, and some players (dd mains) are basically outright shafted in the deal, yes they can rank out but why bother...

    You should wait for the final patch before you make plans... I will likely take some crates this year (as I always do) prob 10-20 big presents and maybe 5-10 mega presents, will see what they drop for me and then if and only if I need more gold for the boosters buy it and boost PR with gold, trust me it will be way more cost effective then buying a T7 or T9 premium for farming one box...

The core issue with cvs in competitive is the fact they have 2 much influence and espec some ships (haku, big e) that can outright delete a key ship and the copmetitive boils down to who has better cv and not who has better team... For instance - I am not esp good in cvs but I played a Haku ranked match yesterday, several dds and cruisers and only one bb per side, shards map. Enemy Salem takes the position at the NE side of the B cap northern island with a dd for capping and venezia as his support little farther back and even a BB positioned between b and c (a bit closer to c) as well... Now they are well positioned to cap (and they do it) and def the B cap - our DDs cant move in becouse of radar and cruiser cant push or flank the salem becouse of venezia and the bb... Perfect checkmate situation for them as they only need to wait for the push or the points to win, right? Wrong! What happens in reallity I fly over there with DB and kill the Salem in 2 passes citting him to death... What happens now is - the entire cap defence colapses couse there is ko radar, poor Venzia (that got some bobms soon after as well) cant help with spotting in any way and my dds just kick the enemy dds out from the cap and take it... We won with like 1000/200 pt in the end even though are GK was parked beside me the entire match and did nothing, thats how much influence a cv has in a competitve enviroment, it only needs to have most basic of skills to wreck the tactic you set up

    One snowflake was convinced the smokescreen is a forceshield yesterday - smoked up near A cap at the shards map while I was in my Yamato standing right northeast of B cap, not only did he smoke up very slighly angeled while I was already aiming but he didnt even bother to move in the smoke, one devstrike later lesson was finished...

Hmm I an not really convinced as I got different input from many clanmates on that, but as I have the Yamamoto on the Yamato anyway (and he has the EM ticked ofc) and I am getting the Yam LU today I will try it out in Ranked for myself, if my calc are correct it should be about the same turn rate as Musashis turrets, nasty but its managable I guess...

Actually the base xp based ranking would make most sence as this what we have now has absolutely nothing to do with ranking your play as much of persistance and level of bs you can take before going ape... Additionally as there are no failsafes from R12 upwards your progression is completely dependant on saving stars on losses and you either play like that from the getgo or you fail at "ranking out" miserably which generates this sniping BB meta bs we have, many teams are uncarryable the mistakes some people do cannot be compensated by anyone alone and teamplay is a joke... The best option for ranked IMHO would be something similar to the Savage and Twilight Battels - 3-4 teams with 3 players each (maybe divs of 2 allowed maybe not) and base XP ranking as in first by base xp gets 2 stars, next 3-4 get one star the members of the "team" (remember these are 3 player teams) with best average base xp between them dont lose a star even if below the treshold and everone else loses one... This way all boxes are ticked for WG and for players - unicums can walk through and carry by high basexp averages, potatos can get carried so they are happy, average players are not shafted any you can play notmally instead of saving stars... Oh yes and no cvs until their match impact is tweaked to the level of every other ship class - keep them away from ranked and cw

    Blyska is easier to play but has disatvantage of beeing T7 not a good tier for a DD as they dont have access to Slot 5 yet (apart from Z-39) and suffer badly when upriered for it while Friesland has all the slots and great guns but no torps putting it in a nieche of its own. Both need dedicated high point captains to get the best out of them and have no line to be used as a trainer for... So my anwser would be (I have both) - neither

    I acctually had the "pleasure" of meeting several of such "speshul snowflakes" when I was in school, taking the mick out of them for getting the Deans commendation for best scientific paper when ever I get the chance never gets old though...

    You mean like when I fly a Haku DB sqad, weawe, change speed and overall dodge flak and then - "right, Im through and can relax" moment aaaand then fly straight into that last cloud and poof... Or I fly in with TBs for like 10s perfectly aligned and at the last moment f* up the drop and slam the torps in the hull without them going hot...

    No we dont have it actually (even though I dont think its a good idea) as your climb through the ranks is in general generated by the "saved star" and not by the wins...

Well turrets on yam are god awfully slow even without it, its a must it you play sniper yam and exclusively a sniper yam, otherwise its a liability as you will have issues getting guns on target... Desmo is meh yes, it allows for speedy movement but as it means you sacrifice either additional reload boost or range boost you would otherwise slot there its a sidegrade, besides for really "up close and personal" cap rushing stuff you are better off with salem due to the improved heal...

    Venezia is prob a bad choice for true competitive play, more then anything else becouse she doesnt bring any of the "team tools" (radar, hydro, long smoke) but then for the selfish sh**show the "ranked" is its no worse then any other cruiser as this is just random with smaller teams and extra prizes...

    You are being plain rude m8, I was never CV main but I played all the classes in RTS times as well and I remember when the rework was announced and tested and do you know how many people playing cvs somewhat regularly wanted this type of rework? Basically none, how about that? So much for challenge in learning the AA ranges... What gave birth to this BS we are having nowadays was the inability of potatoes to learn strafing and esp counter-strafing which made them get shut down by anyone with at least half a brain that has bothered to practice a bit in coop before going all out in force to show the world their new free xp-ed midway/haku, what it lead to was first the T4 and 5 had their manual attacks removed and then this mess arrived, a system in which there is no direct active counter play of one cv vs other...

You should yes but that implies you are behind a rock to begin with and that is not always true, ie I often catch the CV with their pants down coming in from the other flank because I know where I will likely find them, sometimes even in BBs let alone DDs, its not sneaking in as such in strictest sense but if a 30+ kt ship is closing in on your position and you cannot move away from it right away it can be a bad situation for a CV and killing a DD that closes in on you while probable is still hardly a certain thing and dying in the process is a bad trade... But we are veering off the subject here, in general I would support the removal of the indicator IF the air spotting ranges on DDs get returned to sensible values
