Huh, this kind of stuff often starts just before the gfx card kicks off... IDK you might try to play around with settings of the gfx card in drivers, i am not really familiar with the mac os drivers for nvidia and the options they have but if they are anything like pc ones try making a profile and fixing the various postprocesing effects and stuff to lowest setting

It gets less as the building progresses, when you reach stage 6 it will drop to 15k, gold boosters are imo pointless now

Yep they f-ed up royaly with this event, thats why I for one am not grinding any more for events for a long long while, I have most ships I want in game already and only want 2 more really one of them is for steel and the other one for coal both which should come around by playing what I would play anyhow... IDK but I suggest you load up the Arizona as a stationary bot in a training room and shoot at thr waterline from broadside and then you can load up say a Bismarck and try her... Let me know what you observed

It is not affecting only players from France, I am from Croatia and my ISP is the branch of (Deutche) Telecom, you might not have heard of them as they are you know the small company and all, I dont intend to spend an hour pingplotting the connection and sending tickets for an issue people already identified as beeing in the final branch of the system...
