The max range a gun can lob a shell should be (more or less as mounts do play some role in that but its a game after all) decided primarily by the gun type (caliber and barrel length) so if we have say 127/54 gun its logical that the shells fly out to a similar if not the same distance weather fired from a DD, CL or BB and when they are main guns its sort of respected, only when we get to the secondaries the gun that could lob a shell 20 km easily now has a 5 km range... I guess its just one of those "balance decisions"

Well just that this was historically NOT their flavor at all, RN ones would be what you describe and KM ones would be nigh BB armor just with lighter guns and better speed

To me the most unfun part is the escalating amount of grind that is expected you do ON TOP of paying up a bundle...

Yep and the free respec thing is only one of the examples... No real prizes in directives anymore, we get few tokens mixed up with a bunch of 10k credits... Like cmon WG FFS the amount of grinding needed to get that last stage is INSANE by any standard even if you have proper ships needed in the first place... Lootboxes are more expensive and have poorer loot in them in each event we have, getting few dozen dragon flags is like winning a jackpot and you pay a premium for them... We need to grind out what is essentially a T9 worth of battles to get a T8 permacamo... This gambling/greed circle is completely getting out of hand...

Yea unbelievable right? I mean not so long ago I would have just wrought something like this off as slip ups but they are not, its almost like they are trying to push players out of the game by the insatiable greed... FFS we had last free skil respec when we had last T10 non CV season and in the meanwhile we had 2 lines introduced into the game AND anniversary AND several CB and Ranked seasons...

And if past experiences are anything to go by we can kinda count on having 4 days of free respec and we ll have to apply for them via a nearly invisible link on the news page...

You sure about that? Naimly SHS shell has a more steep a curve at descending end then a normal (or say a "light") one for a given amount of speed but that did NOT guarantee a plunging fire effect the way you describe it as to be implemented and it only happened at extreme ranges (kinda what we have in game) that the shells actually impacted close to vertically upon the target, at the ranges at which hitting anything reliably was a tall proposal even with radar rangefinders... Take a look at US SHS-es yes they can lob over islands but they still come in at much more of a shallow angle then a howitzer does...

Its the squeese the every last cent from veteran players before they quit couse of subs routine...

Well the way I see it what you are proposing is basically indirect fire (ie howitzer shells) that come down (more or less) vertically the way AP bombs usually do, that however is not realistic for most naval rifels because the mounts could not reach high enough elevation to lob a plunging shell like that? DP guns could but the question is could the FCS on WW2 ships with DP even calculate the angles for that and does the mount of the DP even allow for firing a full size AP shell in vertical mode...

I moved the heal to T and "bailout" (smoke) or "agression" (mbrb, radar) consumables on Y (its on Z position on my layout) on most ships so to have all 3 near most used keys (wasd) an that I need to engage without looking other ones dont matter all that much to me tbh

I dont know about their advertising but the game director clearly stated we are NOT getting 1.0 it will likely be 0.10.0 after the 0.9.12 that will be the Christmas and New Year celebrations stuff, there will likely be new cap skills in that one as well if not sooner... As for the subs if they implement them in a way they were i am gone from any mode in this game that makes me face them and that pretty much means the game in whole I guess, so the sub lovers can sink bots in Randoms...
