For me as well she is mine as soon as she is available No need to do much gimmicking up DCP + RP + Hydro/Radar/DFAA/MBRB distributed in two slots and with a reasonable base reload and plating and she is fine in T9

Point is that not every tier can be covered with a premium in that way... For instance Riga is vastly different from Kronstadt, some nations dont even have a premium alternative at a given tier say Lion or Drake for instance, or any T9 CL for that matter and others are vastly different from the role the main line ship performs for instance Spee and Nurnberg are completely different other premiums dont mesh with the main tree ship builds whatsoever for instance RM cruisers...

Well that only works if you only play one silver ship per nation and thats rather restrictive...

Pretty much, besides not like it was not to be expected that some supercruiser will make it down to T8 sooner or later...

TBH I find it ok, I developed a cycle for myself... First or second sprint I go to silver league (depends how much T8 I have to grind) Once in silver spam the wins for the prize pool grinding some T9 in the process or level an elite cap in a premium Rince and repeat as needed 0 dedicated stress and effort

You can restore any premium you ever sold via cistpmer service, there is even an automated system in place for it...

Ranked is not competitive because its not set up in a competitive form, you dont have a set allies or opponents, no agreed tactic, no real communication or obligation to adhere to the said, also its largely rewarded by individual performance and not team effort, its just random with extra goodies

Nope, I dont think WG knows what to do with the Essex themselves, I reckon they originally intended to make an alternate line or bring back the odd tiered CVs but since the entire rework basically failed in all aspects including the most important one for the WG - popularity, they are now kind of lost...

IDK if you noticed but you can actually grind high tier ships, there is plenty of them in the techtrees... I mean I know its an outlandish idea that a new player actually needs to play the game for some time to get to the T9/10 bracket but with the all the flags and stuff thats a 2 week job at most

Agreed but in the light of that whats exactly wrong with say NCal IIRC she has sigma 2.0 on 9x406 with SHS shells... Dont get me wrong m8, I really want to like her, its just when I take a step back and take a look at her its just another off the rack 15" armed T8 BB of which we have several in game already...

She has 9 guns instead of 12 so sigma is prob still not boosted enough... Upgraded Alsace has like 700hp less then Flandre, thats hardly something to call better... Armor belt is same as by Wiki stats, idk if there is something not stated there that makes a big impact but as far as i read she still takes cits so i doubt it... She has 500m better base concealment, it is an advantage but hatdly a large one since Alsace can extend her range far more and Flandre cannot do that... Reload is virtually identical however so is reload on say Vladivistok that has vastly better plating and bigger guns to boot and Alsace herself still has 3 more barrels... I wont go into the AAA as that part is very shall we say circumatantial and basing a T8 purchase on that is questionable at best imho... So i ask you - is 500m base conceal and 700hp enough to call her "better Alsace" in light of the above? Different? Sure... Better? Not so sure m8

In theory yes, but in practical terms hardly, any even slightly above average player will in general do equal or better then an average player even in the ships average players do reasonably well in (usually BBs) and VASTLY better in some special ships, as I said PR (average or overall) in itself is just as flawed a metric as WR is in itself, you need to take a good look at all when trying to evaluate somebodies true skill...

How is she a better Alsace at T8?

It might be fine BUT if you say take a ship genpop is really poor in but you are a half decent player you can have a high PR in that ship and raise your average PR but your skills might not be up to the level that PR is showing in general terms and vice versa ofc...

Straight damage and fire chance of a HE shell should have always been inversely proportionate IMHO

Which is damage dependent and shows the average (average PR) of the relative performance one makes to an average guy in the said ship, which can be misleading in many ways...
