I know what you meant, depthchcharging always involved sailing over the sub in one way or the other and its the reason you aprroach it in the first place isn’t it now… Ergo the shotgunning was always there and we always dealt with it BUT the homing torps make it even worse now as the homing shrinks the gaps and turnes the fish to your direction even if you would miss and due to what I just about the turning unless you get her in the first go (basically if player is utter potato) you will lose most of your HP for nothing as you can’t even guarantee the kill, not to mention the supercavitating fish…

It doesn’t have anything to do with lack of practice in depthcrging, I played the DDs vs them in several iterations and know how to DC them, its hard to follow them as the turning Circle of even best turning DDs is not tight enough to drop multiple times sequentially and if you need to turn for a second pass you lose both the sight of them and can’t drop on top of them in turn, at least not effecticely after that if they are deep its total lottery where you drop and if you hit as Because of the stupendous speed they just dart of…

  4. To make subs viable: 1. Guided torpedoes need to go, period 2. Its ok to have some special torps as consumables on some subs or as a nation flavours say like - acousticly homing (countered by dropping throttle to 0 and not shooting main guns), superfast torps (countered by paying attention and making them shorter ranged) or heavy torp salvo (dropping like 12 instead of say 4 fish as normaly it would be the case ona given boat) etc… 3. All ships that can encounter subs in their normal MM spread need to have SOME ASW capability or another 4. Hydro needs to spot them and they need to be proksimity detected like other boats, vigilance might offer additional spoting range for isntance same as for torps, also the BB module for spotting torps 5. ASW airstrike needs to be deployable in a range of sub torpedos arming distance so if sub surfaces to shotgun you it can only to it with the risk of dying itself in the process 6. The rudiculous underwater sub speeds and torp speeds need to go as well In return subs should gain farther spotting under water and longer torp ranges, they might even add a layer of team work with say having a sub ping debuff the duspersion reducing effects of target camos/skills if team is shooting the pinged target or even going into plus range (je say a cap skill for subs giving say +7% tighter dispersion) and the subs need to have the incoming damage capped such as the DDs have but with all surface ammo Types to give them more durability, they need to have crash dive consumable that brings them to max depth AND they can’t be hit by depthcharges there BUT they lose dive capacity at double the rate there and its limited, they are proksimity spotted even at max depth though and hydro sees them at any depth as well up to ship detection range thereoff… After that individual lines and torps damage etc can be fine tuned…
  5. What the hell is this discussion about sub detection? That’s maybe the surface detection but when she is under water its not, I literally sailed over them in an ASW armed cruiser and couldnt see them to drop them when they dived and more often then not one must rely completely on proxy spotting to do anything esp in BBs as the airstrike has minimal range in which it can be deployed so if sub comes up inside it you can wave at her while getting shotgunned in the face/side point blank… Ok sure if its 100% HP on your BB and situation is 1on1 you might live through the Experience but if you are already weakend and/or your guns are looking the other way you can kiss your a** goodbye more often then not, same thing goes for most cruisers esp those without depthcharges as they can’t stop the shotgunning manouver… This sub implementation is even dumber then the first CV rework days when the flying shimas ruled the skies and seas alike…

    As I said before, IMHO the 8” guns of T7-9 are nowadys to lacklustre to be reliable damage dealers and if one wants to play towards fires IJN is a better choice, if one wants direct HE Splash damage KM line and Drake in T9 are better and DeWitt might be as well (dont know as I didn’t play her) ok MN are fast and relatively nimble for their tier and class but that does little to help against “overmatch me everywhere” BB shells…

    Imo the T8-10 are the only ones kinda worth it these days with only Henry being really reliable with damage output, however the proliferation of 18” BBs and the acceleration nerf really f-ed the fun in her as well… I recently reground the line and I like to keep the henry around but the rest is sold off…

    Dude Jingles nailed it few days back, it doesnt really matter, we are not their target audience anymore... They want bunch of children just clicking around and potatoing the matchess and buying lootboxes to get the nex shiny PTW ship when they get spanked

The decision to bring the subs in the game was made long time ago and they are coming, nothing we here or anywhere else say or do makes any difference whatsoever, the moment they started putting man hours into making the models for 3 nations it was the point of no return.... Only 2 things left for WG to do is figure out how OP they need to make them to have enough popularity and how to spin their arrival as making it all for the player base as the merciful lord grants their wish and thats it...

    Not so long ago we had lootboxes that dropped like 12-15 or even 20 dragon flags or top notch camos, or say 5 dragon flags of each kind, mixed in with some coal, freexp etc and early acces ships or special camos etc; and those cost like couple hundred gold per piece… Now we can Look at the “modern” WOWS lootbox… I am sure they raked in nicely even then, but ofc the greed took over completely… Nobody expects them to drop the lootboxes completely at least not voluntarily, That’s an illusion, only way they are dropping that concept is if they are forced, but ffs they dont have to stuff every god damn thing in them and they dont have to cost 5-6€ a piece ffs…
