The object is impounded by the police and returned to the rightful owner, the thief is (hopefully) in jail and the final buyer has to sue the thief (or rather the fence) for damages, sux fot the guy but his "good faith" is not stronger then the owners right...
-
The art (as in stolen) found by some means is not complicated per se, the object is either retuned to the last person (or legal heirs) that can establish the right of possession OR it is enlisted in the "national heritage" and state is the owner henceforth, the problem is usually establishing the right of ownership/possession not the act of returning it by itself a its often "ahh we inherited it from our grandgranduncle and no we have no records"...

"Could reasonably be expected to know" works ONLY if the merchandise in question is something every average person is realistically expected to know a price range of or ie the damaged party in this case say a shop has to establish in court of law that the buyer "reasonably had to know" the price was a mistake and that IN EVERY SINGLE CASE so in your example it was prob the case that the article in question was of sufficiently broad use that knowing the normal price range was to be expected by the customers or the court handed a bone to the shop so they dont get squashed finantially... Anyway its a matter of court and they ruled what they ruled... Stolen goods are something else also swindles are something else, in either case the seller has malintent and the buyer is the damaged party, also while the stolen goods can/will be impounded and returned to the owner if he/she can prove ownership by the police and the damaged buyer has to sue the "seller" for damage, its a completely different kind of interaction and the return of the stolen goods is mitigated by another part of law

That would be the only argument the shop might try to use in court BUT for instance in my country there is no way they would win unless they could establish beyond any doubt whatsoever that the customer HAD to know it was a bogus offer and acted in ill intend and as a private citizen is not obliged to know the price ranges on say a specific type of a wardrobe (as they can vary a lot anyways) unlike the store its case closed… Since we are all EU member states I doubt there us 2 much difference in such legislation between countries
-
Nope it didn’t fly over my head but obviously mine did, never mind you have your oppinion and I have mine, the store might try a civic lawsuit against the customer but honestly unless the loss was so enourmous that they would have to (is a retailer using the “discount” or something) its very unlikely they would even try much less win it against a private person, also the Said store could just start liquidation right away as nobody would buy anything there anymore…

Those are likely not fit for the game but the last few pre-dread generations (in broda sense Mikasa contemporaries) would have place in T2, no reason not to have BB lines Split off at T2 same as DDs

Sooo the furniture store in question was allowed to freeze the customers bank accounts, break into their apartments to take back the furniture and put few thugs on their payroll on the enterance of the building while doing all that so they can’t enter their home and leave we are sorry have a coupon letter on the table, or?

update 10.9. have too much different objectives I cannot have focus on all so I miss half
Yedwy replied to VedranSeaWolf359's topic in General Discussion
People first need to understand that the mission layout is thus by design and not accident, WG uses phsycology to manipulate players in the “zone” they want them to be and they are obviously succesful in that agenda… -
What can I say I am a sucker for naval history and models are fantastic even when not 100% accurate due to upgrades and such

WG is really losing themselves in their arrogance and greed these days, looking at their moves and projected moves its a good thing I am on track with my exit strategy for this game - amassing the collection of mostly real ships... I will re-grind the lines that have real ships in T10s I have left to regrind (IJN DDs and part of the US tree) get few select T7-10 ships of special interest as ships used for special battle modes (mainly CB) and I am ready to stop the regular playing, I should be done with all that right about the end of the year or so...
-
First thing - @OP - THX for the code m8 Second thing - WG is really spoiling us... I am just looking at my current stage - 200k silver and few flags for 720k damage or 4 achievements... WOW WG, just just WOW
-
The main problem of low tiers IMHO is the fact they dont count towards the daily missions and I suspect WG is not changing that because of corporate greed, they want people to go into the +-2 tier part of the MM (T5+) to get frustrated ASAP and possibly open the wallet, there are number of fun lower tier ships and premiums even but no real use for them, they dont even give flakes for them anymore...

Will I loose Epoch camo if I reset the line?
Yedwy replied to HansiSolo's topic in General Discussion
For what they costed actually - gold for gold and creds or something for the other -
That would be the griefers, you know the same lot subs are made for as they are incapable od performing even against the token aa that exists on the higher tiers, they simply “cannot play” if there is any opposition to overcome, problem is there is so many of them nowadays WG devs are catering to their needs…

I want some of that skunk he is smoking, looks like the good stuff...

How many premium subs do you expect to see in the next year?

Why does +2/-2 matchmaking still exist?
Yedwy replied to The_Angry_Admiral's topic in General Discussion
It does matter, in absolute sense yes the claim one never is top tier probably is an exaggeration but in a short run its quite possible not to encounter T6 for a number of matches -
Why does +2/-2 matchmaking still exist?
Yedwy replied to The_Angry_Admiral's topic in General Discussion
Well it depends on the definition of being top tier in a T8 ship... Player definition usually - I am in T8 and some of the opponents are T6 or at least T7 ships WG definition is - If you are in an all T8 match that counts as a top tier match so after that MM can stuff you back in the -2 cue
