ST, Naval Training Center, free Premium Consumables and improvement of the matchmaker.

Well, I have to say, I have loved the game from the moment I first saw it in Jingles' videos up until now. I don't mind having OP ships in the game, I don't mind the recent t10 focus in all game events, I don't even mind the new CVs that much, and I didn't mind the old ones too. I embraced all those changes and had fun playing the game. But I admit that the past few months I have not been enjoying neither the instability in the game balance nor the new direction that was announced in the CC summit. I know that the first is temporary but the second one seems to be permanent. I understand that progression means a lot for the game. The sense of achievement has had a magnetic effect on me as well. But there was always a final goal to give me prespective. I wanted to unlock all the t10s and the start buying all the other ships and play them just for fun, having achieved my goal and taking the time to enjoy this beautiful game. At the moment I only have 7 t10s and grinding more, but I only have so much time to grind. Losing that final goal, or making the distance 7 times longer with the re-grind process would be a big hit for me. But ok, I realise the WG game design does not depend on me. I realise that most players don't suffer from OCD and don't want to buy port slots to get all the ships. I realise that most people need to chase their tail to have fun in this game and need progression and new content all the time to have fun. Sooo, we have a lot of players with all the t10s, who have huge amounts of free xp and nothing interesting to do at the game, because the moment a new tree comes up they have the t10 already. On the other hand WG wants to give their 3D team a break from all the tech tree and premium ships design or maybe give them some space to redesign the entire game graphics engine, like they did on WOT. Maybe they just want to find new and more interesting ways for old players to spend money on the game, other than dropping a Kobayashi camo every once in a while. I understand what and why they are trying to do, I just think they are going about it the wrong way. If WG is determined to move on with the naval training center mechanic I would like to propose a better in my eyes, alternative. At the moment there is a completely useless feature in the game. Elite ship xp. I know that this xp is meant for players to exchange it to free xp using dubloons. But in my mind players are already doing this with elite xp from t10 ships which are so frequently played in ranked and clan battles. So, why not use this instead? Why introduce a new currency when u already have one? I want to be more specific. When you grind a ship line you use regular xp to unlock modules and the next ship in line. The amount of xp is reasonable allowing players to grind each tree in a reasonable time, giving them a sense of achievement. For example I have been playing for 2 years and I now have 7 t10 ships. Then, once a players has unlocked all modules and the next ship, the ship becomes elite, allowing it to gather elite xp. Using this elite xp, the player can now pursue a much more long term goal, say for example 5 million elite xp for a t6 ship, to unlock all 3 levels of paragon upgrades that were proposed in the CC summit. Once the first of the three goals is achieved the player can also pursue the first of these 3 goals on the next ship on the line. And so on so forth. I hope you are getting the idea. It would be like grinding in parallel, instead of resetting all the progress a player has done. That way you give players a reason to keep playing lower tiers, you give them a reason to invest in dubloons for perma camos and premium time and you also allow them to keep their hard earned ships of the tech tree instead of resetting their progress. So, as a summary, my proposal as a replacement to what WG has proposed is this: Allow players to keep their ships unlocked and playable Use elite xp to unlock the paragon modules on elite ships 3 paragon modules for each ship and to grind each one you need to unlock both the previous one and the corresponding module of the previous ships in the line Demand large amounts of elite xp for each module so the grind becomes a long term goal Advantages, in my mind at least: Increase of dubloon sales for the purchase of permanent camouflages, premium time and (although i don't like the concept) grind boosters Increase of lower tier population because people will start grinding for their high tier modules New long term goals for old players remain Players don't lose their hard earned ships, which in my mind is a huge thing Possible disadvantages: The balance problem the CCs mentioned in the summit The huge gap between good players with fully upgraded ships and bad or new players with stock ships (which will be a long term effect) I have never before posted on the forums but this time I felt like I had to. Since WG has decided to go on with this, I think what I am proposing is a much better mechanic than the snowflake thing, which resets the progress of all the players. In a personal note, as I said I love the game and I like playing all tiers. But if WG tells me that I have to, mandatorrily, grind through a line all over again, while also losing all the ships the I unlocked, in order to keep them in a balanced place in the game, that might just be it. If the naval training goes live the way it was proposed in the summit, I am giving up on the game. Not because I will stop liking it, but because all the sense of achivement will go away just as easy as it came. Just imagine spending 2 years building something for fun and someone comes and tears it down. Would you want to do anything with this person ever again? I wouldn't. These are my two cents on the matter. Thanks for listening guys. I am sure WG will do what's best eventually. Have a nice day! -
I do not have Stalingrad. I intend to earn the required steel and buy her though. Is it OP? Of course. By all standards. Does it guarantee victory to teams that play with a pack of it? Yes. But usually these teams would win anyway. Do I mind its presense in its current state in CB? NO. I mean I don't mind if there is one ship in the game that does not care about the opposition. I don't say they should make a habbit of it, but I think Stalingrad can be an exception. Yes, my team lost because of it, but we had some good laughs, which is what all of this is about. Plus when everyone finally gets it it will not be so OP.
