every game lost, think of giving up already

Actually, you have to play Tier VII from your very first Tier V ship. It can be a huge disadvantage especially with stock ships. -

If you are in a Tier V battle, yes, C can be useful. Against Tier VI-VII just weakening your basically pretty poor survivability chance. Omaha's bow is a huge exposed citadel. You can and will get critical hits on you even if you show your bow towards your opponents. Mostly, in action, you have to show your stern while escaping and dodging the steel raining on you, believe me, it counts you can fire 4x1+1x2 cannon rounds towards you chasers. For me, C is effective when you play teamed up with Tier IV-V CV. You can protect it with decent AA abilities, even if you don't have the AFT captain skill unlocked. For lonely wolf hunting and fleet support, B is more preferable(for me). 2x3 well placed torpedo salvo from launchers of one side on a full HP battleship that just tried to sneak out behind from that nice hill and you ruined a brave captain's dreams. But, this is all up to your playstyle. I go for victory and damage against kills. Having a cool looking e.g. 4.0+ K/D ratio is just a nice stat that shows, a player can kill ships low on HP. Having 30-40K+ average damage is profit and success and means, you punish everything in your line of sight with serious losses through the battles. -

Not the topic for this, but here are some tips: if you suck with Omaha, stay with the B hull and act as a huge destroyer with insane spotting range. Use the isles for cover and snipe out everything with torpedoes, then run (and dont forget to use your guns, HE is priceless). C hull is cool, but without the AFT captain skill, you will fail as an AA support ship and of course in self defense. The four torpedo launcher is a lifesaver on B hull(also gives you ~40-50K more damage as a result). On open maps(without cover) if your team have some gray cells in active, stay around your BBs and keep your ship unspotted. Most destroyers even if they are tier VII(Japanese included) will run as hell as soon as you start raining fire on them. Do not hesitate to shot them from max range, may if you miss. They don't like as the shells hit the water around their ships. After you changed their mind, set sail to safe waters until your spotting is gone. Also a rule: move, maneuver crazy. Harder to hit you, longer you live. Not only you save yourself, but also saves your fellow BBs and other ships too. Just forget to being too aggressive. Keep that for later, when the situation go to FUBAR state and you have to take your sacrifice. As I got some "nice" chat messages after some battles, the Omaha can make some "Elite" ship captains cry with higher tier ships than yours. I guess its a shame for them to lose 2-3 tier VII BBs by a pathetic low protected instadie cruiser like this. Including the little ship is also capped their zone(s) while rest of their team is still on the move to your Zone(s). Still, have fun, if you don't have fun, move to next ship in your lineup that you already have. Or stop playing for some times. Go and play some with WT in a rank 100 account(existing since the very beginning), then you will cry back World of Warships and its "unfair" gameplay. It helps a lot. Play the boats that you love. No need to hurry and kill your joy. Do not keep up. Your stuffs will perform better after you finished the research on the next one. -

I am a new player too. Up to tier IV, even if I am uptiered, I can do serious damage or play an almost lost battle for win. Then I unlocked the Omaha. Its almost the same ship as Phoenix. With the Phoenix, you can burn everything even if that is a higher tier ship and not so hard to collect far more than 50k damage(its free to check my stats), while attacking the same ships with Omaha results in very poor damage. With the Omaha, I am happy if I can damage 10-20K in a battle. Not counting, when I got a hit from any direction, that causing citadel on me. When I shot citadels, 98% of those are overpenetrations(1-2K damage for citadelling). Same goes to AP rounds on tier V. I overpenetrate everything from any distance. HE causing minimal or 0 damage all day long, packing back to 1 tier backward, I burn everything to ground. I know about the fire percentage of HE shells. Adding flags for bonuses does not change anything. Like there was a battle with 107 hit with HE on a full HP BB, that Phoenix can burn and I only had 1 fire from that. Of course, the battle ended with a bit more than 10k damage. I don't know where to put this all, but the causing much more frustration from tier V than fun. Me also thinking on to leave this game alone, simply I cant enjoy it. Playing on lower tier ships will not teach you anyone. Once you are good with them, there is no challenge in battles, you can farm with them but feeling is the same like cheating. Meaningless and boring. But going higher to challenge yourself with joke like damage is not fun. I love to get a hard job, but hate to being useless by a reason that I cant change. Watching videos, learn stuffs from guns and different ammo types, angles and whatsoever did not help. It does not mind what is my opponent in my tier V ships, battle results are always poor. I try to love this game, but the game does not want to let me to do that. More could be told, but as it always happen in this forums, the Big Bad Purple Gods of WoWS will come and blame me for being a noob. I could exchange my damage output ratio from tier V with any of them.
