The fact that people complain about free rewards that you get by just playing the game means it is indeed whining. No one is forcing you to do the mission either. There is no "poor" design. You just want it easy.

1. Don't rush with dd and especially don't rush alone. Enemy team loves focusing you in the early stage. 2. Don't sit in dangerous places, have an escape path and be cautious for torpedoes coming into your smoke 3. Following point 1 and 2 you'll stay alive longer and deal more damage automatically, because you have the time for it. 4. It's really easy to farm damage with DD because you can sit in smoke and spam HE. Switch to AP for 100% broadside targets. Torpedoes are secondary, unless you play IJN of course. 5. Be a pro and lay smoke in a long path for your team, if you agreed to go into cap

Come on.... always something to complain. I think the campaign is great because of the free rewards. After the crates we get more goodies. Compare this to how it was before with only missions. Just like with any mission people might do something to get the award, but seriously, most just play the game and the awards come naturally.

But of course the Premium ships will usually be bought by people who spend more time in the game and are better than average. Pair that wih the fact that WG make Premium at least competitive, you get good stats. Scharnhorst can't possibly be a BAD ship though, so OP needs some serious L2P advice.

It might actually be a L2P issue, since higher tier armor is better and the guns remain at 410mm (so I should perhaps go for <5km, or use plunging fire, whatever)
