The "Sverige-class" ships are very interesting as they did not use traditional costac-defence-ship concept of a floating gun plattforms. Instead, althought in small scale, they where real sea-going warships with abilities to both control sea-trerritory facing most other warships, but also with the possibility to challenge an attacking fleet with bigger ships using the battle-group tactic developed for fighting in the Baltic and Kattegatt.
Altought smaller the Sverige-class was in the inter-war years by most naval experts considered a serious match for their bigger Russian/Soviet adversaries due to better tecnical level and better readiness/standard.
