Yeah, they could do with listening to the aboriginies. They understand their land. -
New Ship. Australian Bush Fire Appeal
MyopicHedgehog replied to Rhineheart_Thor's topic in General Discussion
According to an Aussie, those bushfires are natural and happen every so often (and are required for certain seeds to germinate etc). Unfotunately, people decided to build in a high fire risk area - just like building on the floodplains in the UK. The loss of life & property is tragic but even moreso in that it was 100% avoidable. Note that I have no personal knowledge - this is based on what I have been told by a close family member who is an Aussie. Yes, O/P it would be nice if WG could release a premium and support a good charity to assist. -

I don't think wows stats takes into account non-random battles. I had a forumer accuse me of not having a particular T10 ship despite me having it in my port & having played it, just not in Randoms. That's the only thing that fits both of these situations. -
Ok, so having just grabbed a few games cold this afty: Definitely sheds too much speed in turns. Acceleration back up to speed takes too long. No it's not unplayable but it does limit how you can play it and it makes you very likely to get obliterated after turning - or even using a small amount of rudder (and straight lining all the time makes it too easy for you to get deleted) If HIV needs a speed/accel nerf, what about the 0 - 15 knot bracket being adjusted and revert to 15 - 40 back to a more normal acceleration (BB accel is just too slow) and reduce the amount of speed it sheds in the turn.

That would be good - especially for 3D printing they should be able to get good results with their models.

Agreed. Apologies. Won't happen again ;)

Lol. You ARE incorrect. I do have HIV and I don't care that you aren't able to figure it out. You know what? Discussing with you is like trying to play chess with the proverbial pigeon. I prefer to discuss with people that disagree with me so I can learn and improve, however, as you haven't even attempted to discuss the issues or added anything to the conversation, you can safely be ignored.

Didn't someone post that Jim Sterling wasn't interested in WG anymore as they are beyond saving or somesuch? -
You are mistaken. I have the HIV in my port and have played her. I even have the legendary module mission started. I could post a screenshot but my client is on my other PC... Even if I didn't, I have run with HIVs in our clan roster and have played against them so I know what they can do and how hard it can be to hit a good player in one. Now go and read my post. How am I wrong? How should HIV be adjusted to fit into the game and still be relevant (especially in competitive)? Is the nerf a nerf too far or should it be nerfed further? Will it still be viable in CB in your opinion? If so, why do you believe that? What are the grounds for YOUR opinion? If you have nothing to add, why are you posting? I am posting because I care about the game. I love playing CB. I hate having to exclude certain ships from our "A" roster just because they are a handicap. I want MORE ships to be both viable AND competitive in CB, as a "fixed meta" with only a handful of ships is stale and boring. I hate a "campy" meta too, so I want to see ships that thrive in an active environment.

I can understand why people have opposing views. It is often due to differences in play style and class - this is not objective though, so I understand why WG use their spreadsheets to balance (even though it often results in the wrong answers). My interest is in competive (CB) not Randoms as you can still get "good" results in a bad ship in Randoms by farming, however, it is in competive where the strengths and weaknesses and useability of ships really shows up. I am now waiting for the reworked legendary module to counter the nerf (only available through NTC 2.0) or a new TX premium to show up with the old HIV stats...

I have Henri and have played her and although I may be a barely average player I understand games, systems, data, logic and unintended consequences. My clan mates have both HIV and Stalingrad. Why is your question even relevant to the discussion?
-
So why haven't Smolensk or Kremlin been nerfed? (I mean, really nerfed, not the lower AA mount HP excuse for a nerf that Kremlin got). And why didn't you buff HIVs concealment in tandem with this nerf? That would have been better than the current nerf-hammering she got. Ironic that you mention positioning and movement - why are BBs catered to with their max range border humping activities but it's ok to nerf DDs and cruisers that already have low survivability? If you had concerns about HIV, why not talk to your CCs like Flamuu, LWM (etc)? At least they understand the game and how the ships interact and then test it properly as an alternative ship on live? Henri is a staple in CB as she can HE pen Stalingrad, Kremlin, Yamato etc with IFHE. Nerf Henri and these get much stronger in comparison. Fair enough that we have a Hindy buff (and props for that - thank you!) but you should look to WHY a HIV is considered necessary and other ships don't get played so much! (Hint powercreep exists and it is bad for the game). If Kremlin didn't have such ridiculous armour and survivability and Stalingrad wasn't so OP, maybe we could have a bit more variety!

Poll: Royal (token) Bundle drop chance

Of course. I shall do penance for being so stupid. No, still didn't get a ship :) -
Poll: Royal (token) Bundle drop chance
MyopicHedgehog replied to Ocsimano18's topic in General Discussion
heh, sorry, my bad - didn't read it properly! -
If they use data from their supertesters, we could well be doomed - just saw a Supertester playing a Marceau on Flamuu's stream completely n00b it and get destroyed... Not the best way to get your data.
-
lol, yeah I know - wouldn't want anyone to get fooled though :)
-
Fixed it for you. Also, note "chance". Not guaranteed AT ALL. WG also does not publish % chances of drops so be aware!

The last time we had similar event like current "British Cruisers" we had nice poll regarding numbered chance of getting ship in advance via random boxes...

5 (or 6) crates for dubs (still had some - was going to get perma camo for Henri IV...). Got the T8 on the last crate. 4 token containers, nothing of value or substance. This event is not worth it AT ALL. -

You are far more optimistic than I - and I really do hope you are correct. As far as I'm concerned, WG haven't earnt that level of trust or displayed the required level of knowledge of their own game to be able to balance it correctly.
-
L8viathan - "and, if necessary". So WG willl make the call. Did you see what happened to the YY? Spreadsheet says all is fine. Still feeling positive?

I have stopped caring. Not even about the British line i have waited since Beta for.

Yes No No -
Actually it is a valid argument. There are several ships that are just not viable in CB - removing another ship from the list of viable ships just hurts the game and makes it more likely that you'll just see less variation. Address WHY clans felt like you needed a Henri in the roster, don't nerf the Henri first - that's just insane.

Here we have the problem.
