Have any of you installed the recent PTS client? That appears to be causing crashes for me on the EU game client. Also have you repaired the game from the launcher menu option since the last update?

Here's one for the brains trust - installing the test server client caused my main game (and PC) to hang whilst in game - necessitating a full re-boot. [This is of course after the install...] Playing the test client and then exiting and playing the main client also caused the same hang. Picture frozen on screen, Ctrl-Alt-Delete doesn't work nor Alt-F4. Hold power button and do a full shutdown/reboot. PC is a recent MSI gaming laptop. Game has been repaired through the game center (twice!). This has also affected one of my clan mates so we're leaving the test server alone now. Arsenal doesn't load after loading the Royal Navy bit - sits on a black screen. Have to close the Arsenal down & try again (and hope & pray).

Not a fan of the "next stage available in X minutes/hours" thing some people have lives & can't play all day...

Voted no as it doesn't look like you need more experience! But yeah, go for what is fun for you. State of mind is more important to performance than many think (yes skill is important too - don't look at my stats as I'm a newb!). If I'm having bad games, I'll pootle off into co-op for a bit & try and get used to some different ships or something and then go back into random (maybe!) later - does help.

2/ Yes, agreed WG is treating the Imperial German flag different then the Soviet flag and I agree that this should not be the case - however the game does belong to WG so that is their choice and right. Would I like it changed? Definitely, yes!

TBH I was on the fence about buying premium time. I had more than 1/2 of the dubloons required so it made sense to get premium with a free ship... Wouldn't have done it otherwise!

The recent update did a number on my laptop - no longer loads in as quickly - mate of mine had so many issues loading in late he quit playing. Plenty of times you see others in game that haven't loaded in at match start. Happens.

Cuckoo clocks do that to you (or so I've heard)

The USA and the UK also did (and are still doing) some pretty shady (& morally reprehensible) stuff. There's no country or empire that can hold its head up high so why can't people get over it? A flag is a flag - as long as it's not illegal, there shouldn't be a problem - especially since we are talking about a (mostly) historical game.

Port UI is even slower. Frequently need to Alt-Tab to close client. As an example, purchase collection item with duplicate keys, success but then can't use the "Close" button. [edit - this has happened more than once, in this specific case] Leaving game via Esc is a crap shoot - frequently doesn't work Number of anniversary containers ready to open is out by 1, i.e. shows one too many.

Is there a mod like this actually available? I rather expect that WG anti-cheat would actively ban this sort of thing. Besides, due to the nature of game (Dispersion, sigma etc) and the fact that this is a server side game, such a mod could never be 100% accurate (then there's also the hard coded limitation of the human body that's actually playing the game to consider). Why not send your replay into support & let them judge rather than speculate?

Ah yes, that thing... Me & her don't get on too well. I know it's mostly me, but it's not fun when you're in a BB heavy T9 match which is what it feels like I always end up in! Given the dispersion I end up with it would do with a bit of a RoF/pen buff (or something). Either that or I need to L2P!

Fair enough. You make good points & have much more experience than me so I will defer to your wisdom. BTW by potential I'm referring to the ship having the potential to be OP if being played by someone competent. [Edit, so why is the GC still a thing at T5 if the Belfast & Kutuzov etc aren't being sold? is it just because it's a BB/BC?] Really feeling the need for a mid/high tier RN (& Russian) premium cruiser for captain training, so kind of salty I missed out on the previously available ones! With the Boise/NDJ being a thing how much would it take them to just tweak the Belfast/Edinburgh and give us something (I don't want it to be OP - just competitive) and with the rep that the Duke of Spork has, I don't fancy spending real £ to get that when I don't really enjoy BBs.

What proof do you have of his hit rate? I didn't think that the game gave you that information for your opponents. You most likely got tunnel visioned on your quarry and didn't notice that you were also being shot at by someone else. It is very very unlikely that your opponent's gameplay was being enhanced by illegal mods/hax given the nature of the game. Now if he was a US athlete and this was the olympics I'd suspect a therapeutic use exemption... :p

Oh yes, I've seen it! I am not a good player (yet) - hopefully will be(!) in future - was using my experience being insta-deleted (wasn't even a detonation!) as an example that "things happen" in game and you just have to walk it off!

I can't say for certain that it was or wasn't aim assist, but the fact is that this isn't an FPS with hitscan weapons where an aim assist can be brutally effective but a game where shells have time of flight and sigma & dispersion to affect things. As also noted, you may have also been shot at by someone else. Game knowledge & experience can make a huge difference with this game. It is possible that you were just outplayed by a much better player. I got insta deleted by a Scrub in a Richellue (sp?) in my Haida. I made a dumb play and he was a better player. It happens!

Could still have better rig than you, better connection to server, better reflexes, may just "click" with that ship, or just better RNG than you (is RNG a thing in WoWs like it is in WoT?). Had so many cases on console where people were convinced that someone was cheating on a server based game where they had just come up against someone better than them that I doubt "hax" when claimed (unless obvious). As an aside, I doubt that smoke would have saved you if that player was running a cheat.

It's not a hitscan weapon so I doubt aim assist. More likely a player with a good grasp of the game & ship and with a good gaming set up. Trying to play on a laptop on a tray table with restricted room to use a mouse instead of a large monitor & good gaming space has taught me that it can make a huge difference.

Stealth isn't going to help vs Radar though and with no speedboost, one dead DD once lit up if against a competent foe. Short range hydro is not going to endear itself to your average DD player when cap contesting. Watching Notser's video, I can't see any attraction to playing it as it's looking far too passive. Needing IFHE is another "no thanks".
