It was pointed out by one of the naval historians that had the opportunity to interview the survivors of the Hood's sinking. It was a hold over from the older naval designs but catastrophic in that a magazine explosion was not able to dissipate but instead was kept bottled up. Sadly the Hood was a good example of Admiralty incompetence and penny-pinching (and perhaps, hubris).

There are certain cases where they are inevitable, yes. There are also some cases where they are seemingly caused by other factors rather than simply when one side killed off a few ships quicker than the other.

Fiji is ship of choice to go after transports and then get the flank of the ships in the closing stages. If you can't get their broadside, the AP only struggles.

Missouri loves to put the smack down on the Fiji, yes. I've seen the Missouri beach itself to avoid a DD behind that rock so it's not always great - although that's usually when the DD has fired torps. But get a good shot on it with the new T7 Soviet BB and you can wipe the smile of it's face easily with (usually) 2 cits + multiple full pens. The Sinop(?) seems to be the best BB for this op, closely followed by the Lyon. And on topic, the boise isn't at all bad although in Nari you will feel the lack of gun range esp if you go for the CV and sit behind the island to give fire support at the end.

The magazines not being vented was an achilles heel that was present before the refit though - sadly that could have been addressed during the refit but wasn't.

Ship matching and division matching (and the lack thereof) together with the spawn locations has a lot to do with steamrolls (the ones that are over very quickly). Some of the spawns for ships really do take the biscuit. Then you have the aggressive vs the passive team issue which is a whole other problem but those games tend to take a bit more time.

Except that the CV player gets a message telling him that the plane is spotted. Ergo, must be a DD around = doesn't take long to spot the DD after that. If you take that message away, that would help, but would it be "fair" for the CV player?

How about the "no radar" option? I think something else may be required in the new "CV meta", but I have no idea what.

Supposed to yes - but it won't run on my slightly older PC - game got more & more unplayable with each update & the port interface makes it unusable. Even takes too long returning to port after games with my new PC...

I have poor stats but I want to improve. How can I (who struggles with making the correct play when in game) explain to someone how to play better (unless they are making an obvious mistake)? Do I understand some things from a technical perspective? Yes. Can I contribute to some conversations? Depending on the conversation, yes but mostly in the sense of how I feel a ship/class is to play for me or how I perceive the "meta". Do I have any authority (e.g. telling El2azer that he's wrong re CV play)? Absolutely not! If I set myself up as an authority (which I don't!) then better players are entitled to point out that I don't know what I'm talking about so I don't mislead others, and posting stats is the best way to show that. I want helpful advice from good players to help me improve, not moronic verbiage from people that can't play trying to boost their egos. I am personally thankful for those better players that take the time to do that.

Never got any when my twitch account was linked - watched many hours of content too. De-linked account and not going to bother with this again.
